Sorry if you guys got excited for nothing, but curious if anyone knows when the final release is expected to come out? Running Dr.Gonzo's rom, and it works fine, but i do find that STK loves to freeze at random times for me (forcing a manual shut down). So just looking forward to a final STABLE (hopefully) release anyone have a day?
took smartoolkit off and i seem to notice less lock ups on the phone. just curious, but have most vox users (with Dr.Gonzo's rom) disabled smartoolkit? or are the majority of you not having these lock ups?
cant wait til the final release is announced
i know i disabled it and for the same reason couldnt take the lockups but the software is great othewise love the look cant wait till they work out the bugs
k thought i was alone on this, once you disabled it, have you noticed any lock ups? or is the rom that much better now without it (performance wise)
well.. i guess so it hasnt locked up once.... so yea its better without it :S
perfect so i'll permanently disable it and keep an eye out on the final release of it (hope its soon, looked so slick). thanks again, appreciate it
do you know if theres a way we can add quick icons on the home screen? annoying having to go to start, and browse through
I'm using Miri's 6.5 V17 ROM for my HDC HD2. This issue started out of the blue. I've tried multiple different Android releases, but nothing is different. After a few hours of the Android being booted within WinMo, I can't get the screen to turn on. I usually get a backlight, but nothing displays. Is this a know issue? Should I use a different ROM? The reason I picked this ROM, is because it fixes the known issue with the robotic call quality.

Have you try a hard reset?, don't forget to remove your sd card.
Just did that now. I'll let you know how it went.
You can also try with another ROM
I´m using latest energy and do not have any robot voice and all working ok
Energy ROM? Link? Will this ROM install with any SPL? I think I used HardSPL.
Also, it was fine but just did the same thing again. I'm beginning to think Android was not meant to run on this phone.
Tried Energy. Still does the same thing on a regular basis. Is there a specific Android build to run on the HTC HD2?
Does anybody have a fix for this?
Bump...again.
Tried the newest Froyo release (August 18th) and it does the SAME thing off and on. Why can no one answer this question?
Hard reset seems to be the only fix for this, and even that only works for a day or two. Is this a known issue? I'm not using LauncherPro...
After almost 300 views, no one can help me? What kind of crap is that?
Bump......
Bump.......
NOTE: it's not ICS. Don't get too excited.
So, I noticed a few days ago (last Friday, I believe) that my mom's Skyrocket (entirely stock, 2.3.6) had received an OTA update, and some of the UI elements had changed. Among the changes I noticed are:
The swipe to unlock screen no longer swipes, but displays a circle centered at the initial touch point that expands to ~2x its diameter as the user swipes.
The incoming call screen now has similar circles for the call/answer buttons, as opposed to the swipe tabs in previous ROMs. (it looks a lot like the Note's UI)
The icon for the default phone dialer now has a 3x3 grid in the background.
I'm sure there are other ones I haven't noticed. However, my rooted Skyrocket running 2.3.5 (which, ironically, is newer than hers by almost 6 months) hasn't gotten anything, leading me to believe it's a 2.3.6 update only. Doing an update scan on both phones yields nothing.
Has anyone else noticed this, or did my mother's phone just take a long time to get an update most other people already have?
PS: I'll post build info a bit later, when I can take another look at the phone.

So, it's already been available for a while? If so, since when?

It's been put out, 3 times, I think. Pulled twice, IIRC. Last one must of been fairly recently, maybe a month ago. I don't remember.
UCLA3, It's been out since March maybe even February
Since NexusMod 4 came out, and that was a while ago.
At least you tried

Heh. I had a feeling it wasn't something terribly new. Though, whenever I tried to Google it, I got a plethora of pages with people making googly eyes at the ICS ROM and thought I might have had something.
Oh well, it was worth a shot.
From my experience,
coming from 2.3.5, then 2.3.6, then 4.0.3 and most recently 4.0.4, 2.3.6 UCLA3 was the most stable ROM so far and it's the one I always come back to when a new ROM gets kooky on me.
Keep a zip of it on your SD card.
Doesn't it disable a lot of system menus like *#*#4636#*#*?
Yep sure does. Its the regular ucla3 update. Latest one that works when upgrading. No scrollable wallpaper.

Im trying to figure out if something is wrong with my most current replacement phone. I noticed on the K3 OTA scrolling is choppy as can be, even in the settings menu for example. Instagram/twitter/facebook, regardless of the app when scrolling its choppy, like it cant keep up. I see it on the OTA and custom roms too. I cant remember if my last S3 was like this or not so any input on wether you device is choppy scolling would be great incase I have to call verizon and get the phone replaced yet again.
I notice that running custom kernels actually makes it worse. Running a stock kernel seems to have the least amount of choppyness on the phone

I haven't experienced that problem yet. Maybe because as soon as I got the phone I went to developer options switch all animation scale options to 0.5 and never looked back.
Hey guys so I've got a huge issue. I'm on now my 3rd SGSIII and I'm getting very annoyed. My screen goes nuts randomly. I think I've found a fix, but I'm not sure what's causing it, as most people don't show the symptoms. My screen starts flashing and flickering, whether it's the lockscreen, the homescreens, within an app or in the app menu it does the same thing. I haven't taken a video of it yet, but will if someone wants to see what's happening. I've had it happen only on JB, both roms and stock doesn't seem to matter. The 'fix' is the same one as AOSP rom users use, which is to disable hardware overlay, however I don't know why a non-AOSP rom would need to deal with this. The roms I've used are: Vengeance, CleanRom, Synergy and The Executioner. I've gotten so annoyed that I've gotten Verizon to allow me to switch to the DNA if I want. I've taken a few Logcat's, if someone who can decipher them more than I can to figure out what's actually wrong would be great! I've taken a bunch of logcats, but only have one posted to pastebin. It was taken whilst I was having the issues. Thanks for the help guys!

Nope, I don't run that stuff because all of the rendering updates and stuff can get annoying to look at while working. I'm able to get the same issues on a fully stock rom, and a pure flashed rom, with a few programs installed. But the fact that the hardware render seems to be the issue to me is just very odd on a non-AOSP rom.
I have been having screen flickering issues ever since I flashed the latest AOKP build (AOSP) I originally thought that it was because of the kernal and the under voting that I applied but even with a different governor and normal volt settings the screen still flickeres. After some poking around I figured you that it is only happening while I am trying to type and by uninstalling the Swype beta keyboard the screen flicker had been reduced to almost nothing. I do not know why the keyboard would amplify the effect but if I use the system keyboard the flickering becomes almost non existent.
Also, the screen flickers anytime a pop up menu is on screen, such as in the tapatalk app, the menu that pops up to allow you to quote someone..

Had been having the same issue on Baked Bean 6, flashed BB7 last night and it seems the problem is gone. BB7 being 4.2.1 I'm guessing whether intentional or not somewhere along the process of updating the "bug" if it indeed was as it appeared was squashed.
I'd be curious to know what was causing this, if by chance you find a definitive answer please post it.
Thanks
Lk
I had a very similar issue for a while, i flashed LEAN KERNEL
Rebooted twice, and problem went away.
For an update, I flashed kt's latest kernal and the flashing has ceased.
