Question RAM Plus - Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra

Does changing ram plus gain you anything on the 12g/1TB model?
Does changing it affect battery use over time?
Thoughts?

I think RAM Plus only kicks in once you've used up all 12gb of ram in your phone's hardware. Being as that is rarely the case, I've set mine to 2gb as it saves battery and doesn't affect performance. I've owned a Samsung since the S3 and never used all of the RAM at once. Would love to disable this feature actually and set it to 0gb of RAM Plus, currently the lowest we can set it is at 2gb.

But does it actually save battery?

adb shell settings put global ram_expand_size 0
To disable ram plus
I disabled on my snap 22ultra
Will see if battery is better or worse

Several other folks who did this on the S21 says even if you do that, on next reboot it re-enables back to default. Might want to check that.

Well tbh I haven't clicked it since but I've rebooted several times and still showing 0gb
Maybe clicking the button to see after a reboot auto enables something.

Well, that issue on reboot was on the S21 forum, 22 might behave differently... or might not. Dunno, haven't tried it.
I'm more curious if it actually does affect battery, in what way and if not, no sense not setting to 2, 4, 6 or 8 if it doesn't.

Screen timeout on calls.

Has anyone discovered a way to keep the screen on longer while on a call?
Is there any way to change this? If I missed another post on this I apologize. Thanks
You can use power manager in the Google Marketplace

One of the best 99 cent app I've ever purchased. Support the Dev, he just lost his job, and the app kicks ass.
Yeah, Power Manager has the option to a max of 2 minutes, but it has never worked for me, it always times out waaay earlier.

i use shake awake free app that causes your phone to turn back on if you move it a certain amount, you can ajust the sensitivity to howevver much you like. mine basically stays on if the phone moves at all while i am on a call
Awesome I will try these. Thanks for the responses.
Power manager doesn't change the timeout for the screen during calls. The only way to change that currently is using the shake program mentioned above. I use both programs and love both of them so when power manager doesn't help with the screen timeout during a call use it for all the other great benefits and select monitor so it can apply the different profiles (which you can customize) for all the situations.
I tired these apps they both seem to work pretty well, any ideas on how this could be done without using an app?

Disable RTT in google dialer?

I picked up a VZW Oneplus 8 a couple weeks ago and I noticed that the google dialer came out of beta.
Loaded it up, and RTT is turned on by default.
I cant seem to get rid of it.
Is this a setting that can only be handled by vzw? Can we disable rtt? (I noticed it in another thread that its an available build.prop
Its really annoying when I call someone and I get this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",

}
I cant switch to bluetooth or bring it to speaker, add calls (easily.. ie: the normal dialer)
I love the google dialer (came from a pixel) and the sheer number of calls it blocks.

Off is not an option. (this would be so simple if it was an option)
I called verizon on it Friday and they were absolutely clueless.
Guy tried explaining to me that my phone doesn't have rtt enabled... uh huh... sure...
running this command fixed it for me. I still dont have the option to turn it off but this turns it off. FWIW in useing the verizon OnePlus 8 UW 5G
adb shell settings put secure rtt_calling_mode 0

Unsure. It stuck with my 8.
You have to flash a different build. I tried getting around this with many different things. None worked.

This worked for me post reboot as well. Build Oxygen OS 11.1.IN67CD
This did not work for me. Seems like it does not fix the issue on the 6T, but it does on newer phones.
Many Android 11 ROMs do this. The Pixen OS dev fixed the issue but it's no longer supported.

What is Network operator Theme pack?

As the title says, what is Network operator Theme pack? Ive already googled it and there is nothing close to it.
I was looking through my phones app list with system apps showing and I saw an app with that name, Network operator Theme pack and I dont recall seeing it before. It goes without saying, but I didnt install that app. The package name is "com.android.networksettings.overlay.ct".
There is also an app called Permission controller Them pack and its package name is "com.google.android.overlay.modules.permissioncontroller".
While they may mean nothing at all and be completely harmless, the "overlay" part raised a little red flag for me. Ive also been having severe battery drainage issues, but I dont know if that is related or not. Severe as in losing 1% of the charge every 3-8 minutes when using the phone and about 4%-5% every 45-60 minutes when the screen is off.
I looked at the list of processes running in 3C All in One Toolbox (paid version) and the only thing that was a problem was the mediaextractor kernel process which I killed each time it was a problem as it was eating up in excess of %150+ of the phones cpu. I was also rooted up until a few weeks ago when I updated magisk (through magisk manager) & edxposed, then after the phone restarted I was no longer rooted and unable to re-root without wiping all my data (which, needless to say I did not do as I am not in the mood to start over from scratch right now.
So yeah, if anyone could tell me what the strange app package is and maybe help me figure out my battery drainage problem, Id greatly appreciate it.
My phone is a OnePlus 7 Pro running android 10.
Stay healthy everyone!
P.s. I attached a screenshot of the app info window from both of the strange apps mentioned above.

Works for chinese version, not sure about other models but you can try. All that still works. Google services, call recording, disable app through adb, etc. Only issue I discovered is music stutters if you don't switch sound effects to Kirin or another effect. How to = Just change region to china in app gallery, then apply and download beta through my Huawei app (You'll see available devices, just choose yours) then go to settings and software update. It'll now show up for download......
Updated mine yesterday and can notice (too early) an increase in battery life by 10-15%. Also I like the UI much better than Android 11. All google apps are working without any issues. I have the Chinese model.

Post this update every product from Google works fine without any issues. If you want to disable the update change the setting to disable overnight install
I'm assuming Ascending ringtone is still not able to be disabled as I have not found it. I hate the feature and wish they would put the option back to turn it off and it rings at full and not this BS as I have missed many calls due to this.

All my Google apps, WhatsApp and text messaging work just fine. Notification has changed - swipe down to see them.
I really think the snappy feel of my mate 20x is lost after harmony os 2.0... the top right corner of the phone is also heating up a bit.. its been around 8 hours since the update. What do you guys think? Will it improve?
Anyway to get harmony os on global mate 20x evr l29

Themes / Apps / Mods Enable 90fps [NON-ROOT]

90fps seems to be the sweet spot for battery life, but I'm a little suspect here haha.
I remember seeing an ASUS mod on zentalk saying that they would not be offering that option. 120hz panels in general can produce a 90hz refresh rate, but it would actually look worse than 120hz AND 60hz. There is no 90hz profile for the panel. If you force the screen to run 90hz without the proper profile you will get some wonky color issues/color banding etc.
Forcing a 90hz refresh without the proper support behind it makes no sense.
If this is true, I'll stick with the 60hz for casual use and change manually when gaming to something higher. The Rog phone 3 can actually be set at 160hz via an adb command, but that doesn't mean there is a visual difference there.
I'm regurgitating what I've read there, but one of the posters is very informed and has been in the rog phone community for quite a bit of time.
If you want to read the thread on zentalk, search "Rog 5 refresh rate" on their site.
In the newest firmware, they added proper support for 90.

It works after reboot even without the app.. Thanks for this
screens are the same, GPU is the same, so is cpu, only difference are the size of mem.
Why wouldn't it work?
