Hi Everyone,
So as I read in a little bit about the S22 Ultra and its Progress to be a usable Phone... wich means for me/us to have TWRP, ROOT, Custom Kernel & Custom Mods etc etc.
I want to push it a little bit and use this thread for communication about TWRP and how to possibly find a solution to this problem
and maybe our hero developers go together and solve this Problem for the Community.
The next critical Step would be to have TWRP on S22 Ultra & Android 12.
So I think the closest we can get to it is to use the source Code and KnowHow from the S21 Ultra.
Here is the source code of TWRP:

Maybe he just needs to get an S22 Ultra to help us?
The https://TWRP.me Team seems to be inactive sadly.. may they would continue with some donations?
Who is in Contact with the Developers and have some Knowhow about it? Please connect & share.
Also I heard about an Option, that it would be possible to get custom roms throught Magisk installed.

Of course stock means stock rooted. What I mean if you are on aurora ROM then it's different matter,
What I am eager to know is after wiping data, -
Do you ablet to make data backup or any other partition backup.
DO you able to apply multidisable or not. If not then still able to boot device after wiping data.

Hi all,
Someone know How can I Root my device?
You can not yet...
First stage would be unlocking the bootloader ... which Huawei now deny you the ability to do.
However it appears someone is offering a working unlock service.
People are reporting it's legit for the P20 / Pro.
Be careful though.

As a fresh owner of Honor Note 10 I was curious if it's possible to have the bootloader unlocked. Just finished chatting to the admin from the website and he claims that YES, they offer this service for 30EUR. But then I asked him if there's an actual way to root the device and he wouldn't know. My point here is: there's not much of a point to have an unlocked bootloader if you can't get the root on the phone. I think we will have to wait a bit longer till someone gets a working root method. I wouldn't mind to pay for having the bootloader unlocked (for reasonable amount of moneyh) as long as it works...
You can't have root without the unlocked bootloader.
So of course there isn't a root method yet ... because no-one was previously able to unlock the bootloader.
If that is now possible, then a root method will inevitably come.

Given Huawei's recent dull attitude that reads something like "LOCKED BOOTLOADER is for your safety only" (BLAH BLAH BLAH), reasonable doubt of a commonly available ROOT for this magnificent device is more than imminent...
But hope is all there's left, right

Hmmm... there seems to be some work in progress alright regarding a custom TRWP for Note 10, if the google translator works fine, that is:
https://translate.google.com/transl...m/thread-17327282-1-1.html&edit-text=&act=url
And the bootloader unlock code might get somewhat cheaper, too:

Let's wait and see, I guess
Just to keep this thread alive, does anyone happen to have an access to the Chinese Huawei club forum with TWRP recovery? I'm unable to download the img file there as it requires to have a chinese phone number to register on the site. All it takes is to have that file downloaded. I'd like to volunteer to unlock the bootloader, then flash the TWRP through adb interface and try to root the Note 10 with Magisk or SuperSU just to see if it works.
Anyone with Chinese Huwaei ID willing to download that file, as seen here:
https://club.huawei.com/thread-17327282-1-1.html
Any help is much appreciated!

The good news is I got my bootloader unlocked. The bad news is the apk file requires root, which I was hoping to obtain by flashing a custom TWRP image. I thought that's what it was available in that Huawei club Note10 forum...

How did you got it unlocked?
i know there are many pid sources but was waiting for someone to confirm they really work for note 10. Can you please share where you got it from?
Sure, I've posted the link already:
https://global-unlocking-solutions.miiduu.com/bootloader-unlock-codes-choose-model-below
I chose the fast 1-20min option and it was done that way, indeed. You must pay upfront, of course. They generated the unlock code for me and all I did was a few lines in cmd powershell while phone was in fastboot mode.
There's an ugly message coming up everytime I boot saying that my device has an unlocked bootloader?
But we need a custom CWM or TWRP image now?
I wonder if there's a stock boot image of Note 10 floating around online, perhaps in Huawei Chinese forums?

Just did some digging there and actually, you can find a working firmware file 125 for Note 10 online. Chances are even the latest 132 build is there somewhere on Chinese forums...
I'd recommended you to get the bootloader unlocked from the link above, if you have a good idea how to proceed with root? My skills are way too limited, I'm afraid?.

OK now. I managed to flash TWRP on the phone successfully. However after i tried to flash Magisk, the phone remains unrooted So it's a no for me. Any idea why?
There's a red error stating coming up twice: failed to unmount '/system' (Device or resource busy). But the Magisk zip get installed anyway. So what am I doing wrong?
EDIT: the bloody TWRP is password protected. My pin password doesn't do the trick...
EDIT 2: OK, just removed my lock screen in phone settings, no errors in TWRP anymore. But after I flashed Magisk (no erros again), phone still remains unrooted? What the hell?

Hey,
youyim123 recently made his TWRP build available that I was trying to compile myself. So without further ado, here is a more or less working TWRP for the Nubia Z18 with instructions of how to install it.
Link to recovery.img
How to install it:
Boot into bootloader using
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Unlock the bootloader using
Code:
fastboot oem nubia_unlock NUBIA_NX606J
Flash the recovery.img using
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
IMPORTANT! Navigate to "reboot to emergency recovery mode". Do not use
Code:
fastboot reboot recovery
as it might not work correctly!
I found disconnecting the device from USB to be more reliable, so do that for stability
If it gets stuck, repeat steps 1 and 4. No need to reflash, just be patient
Language will be Chinese, so change that by using the settings button (second from below on the right)
That's it, you have a working TWRP now Enjoy!
EDIT: DO NOT TRY FLASHING MAGISK AS IT WILL DAMAGE DM-VERITY AND YOU'LL HAVE TO BOOT RESCUE YOUR DEVICE! YOU CAN USE MY recovery script in the bloat remover thread to fix your device
In case you get stuck in a bootloop, repeat the installation guide, then use
Code:
adb push stock.zip /data/media/0
and reflash stock firmware as a last resort until a custom ROM is available.
All credit for this goes to youyim123 and his amazing work! I know he struggled releasing this because his work is often used or redirected without his consent or giving him credit, so I'm grateful he decided to release it.

It is stable. Just make sure to unplug your phone after flashing it as otherwise it will probably get stuck after a few seconds. If you need to have your device connected to your pc, do the following:
Start adb sideload in TWRP, connect your phone to your pc, stop sideload. That way you have a working connection with adb again
Hope this helps!

The only temperary solution is "Google Space", or just wait for the global version release

Please read the first post precisely and then the post in the nubia forum again. Youyim is the guy who made the poll and he made it public. I simply brought it to a wider audience and link to his official GitHub for the img.
You cannot flash Gapps with this because it errors. I said so a couple of times before and would appreciate a bit of effort reading before asking. You probably spent more time on writing this than you would've reading the first three post entries here, disregarding the fact that I'm trying to reply in detail. It's all in the first post, please read that before asking next time..
To sum up:
- It's the "official" TWRP from youyim, all credit goes to him
- You can not install Gapps with this, I haven't found a resolution for this but am working on an alternative. See my other thread or post #3 here

It's the same dev I'm the guy working on LineageOS as well and yes AVB2 (Basically think of it as Android's answer to secure boot on Computers) is a pain in the a** to deal with. Compiling itself is rather easy compared to the pain that comes after it, it's just killing lots of time and I unfortunately don't have that with a full time job. That's why I tried getting more people involved but (again) failed apparently.
TWRP doesn't have anything to do with Magisk either. Magisk is modifying the boot partition as far as I'm aware (don't hate me topjohnwu) and it relies on either no AVB/DM-Verity or a flag that doesn't work here either. TWRP in contrast just modifies/overrides the boot partition and is (mostly) used to flash many things including Magisk.
I think Z18 not have a global version, so we'll never see international firmware for this product. The only way I hope is some one or some dev support official method for install Google. And hope good news come soon.
Thanks all!

Isn't a global release coming in like 2 weeks or something? At least that's what I read last time I checked
I can tell you an official method. Root your phone and rewrite google services to system. Otherwise wait until developers can take a look at Rom building like I do now or even better, get involved. Being a one man show isn't helping the cause even if you have a couple spectators because it makes you feel more or less like a monkey in a cage

https://www.gadgetsnow.com/mobile-phones/Nubia-Z18 for instance. India isn't global lol. They mostly just buy masses of phones and then resell. And yeah I can understand they won't release a global version anytime soon. The phone is great but looking at the source code, it's horrible. I even had to submit a patch so they get their build fixed!
As for the download, try the second one. Baidu is blocking anything non China by now afaik. It will also be included in the LineageOS ROM whenever I'll get that done..
This method is brought to you entirely by @elliwigy He is the reason for this exploit and method.
With that being said, Extreme Syndicate Root is now available!

The Adventure!:
I will not get into any technical details here. Just know that this method has taken me ~1 year from start to finish. I also went through a number of devices during this time (at least 7 devices), even sold my original N9 then somehow ended up with another one before this root method was found. Some of us devs might be a bit burnt out so don't get upset if we are not in here all day every day answering everyones questions. We hope users will help eachother, that is what XDA is all about! Also, if you want more real time conversation/support then please join our Telegram group (link posted below) as this is easier for us to moderate and allows discussion to be had in real time. I don't always check XDA messages or PM's as it can be a lot and very tiresome so your best bet is Telegram!
Also, donations/money is not expected or required but if you feel obliged to share what you can then that would be greatly appreciated! Donations keep me on the grind and sometimes can even help me in acquiring other devices to work on. I had issues with Paypal a while back (SamPWND days) and do not have a Paypal account. I do however have a Venmo and Transferwise accounts that work in most situations.
Venmo - http://www.venmo.com/Thomas-Huntington-10
Transferwise - PM @elliwigy for info to donate using Transferwise.
Now Let's get into the files/method!
Notes:
- This does NOT trip KNOX so don't ask.
- Bootloader is of course still locked.
- This uses some partitions from combo firmware which means 80% battery.
- Each variant will have its own post in its own section. N9 in N9 section, S9 in S9 section, S9+ in S9+ section.. Make sure youre in the right one!
* Variants this should work on are: N960U/U1/W, G965U/U1/W, G960U/U1/W. If you do not have one of these variants then this forum is not for you!
- Initial files/method will leave you on Oreo stock root.
* Some users were successful in running Pie GSI but the initial posts will not include this. Others will do this and maybe down the road threads will be updated.
- It works on latest rev's from rev1 up to the most recent revs.
- As of the initial first release, all variants have an issue with MTP not working, we are working on it however.
- S9 and S9+ also might have some issues with the selfie cam. Also being looked into.
- There will be 3 threads created as this method works on 3 different variants. These groups will be facilitated by the following:
- Note 9 @elliwigy
- S9+ @klabit87
- S9 @jrkruse
- Telegram Support Group for All 3: https://t.me/joinchat/DxwvAlhtzHjg4EI9973BGQ

2. In odin folder flash the combo firmware
3. Once combo is booted up run the root bat. When done phone will reboot to download.
4. In odin flash the bootswap.tar.md5 file. What this does is swaps the boot and recovery images which allows system to be mounted rw.
5. Now when done flashing you need to hold the buttons to boot to recovery but since we swapped boot and recovery images it will boot system.
6. Now put your phone in airplane mode. This must be done whenever using Flashfire. Copy the system.img, vendor.img, and ODM zip files to your phone.
7. In Flashfire, choose zip and select the odm zip. Then choose firmware and choose the system.img and the vendor.img. Then choose data wipe and wipe user and system data (the default choices). Make sure inject super su is NOT enabled. Disable it. Do not let flashfire inject root!!
8.. Now click flash. When finished you will have to hold buttons to reboot to recovery until you see boot animation. You must do this on every reboot. If you do not it will reboot to stock recovery. If it reboots to stock recovery just reboot system and hold buttons to reboot to recovery again.
9. When rom is booted up your computer will not recognize the phone for mtp file transfer. Adb does still work so you can transfer stuff that way (you need to switch to ptp transfer method in the dropdown) or use USB adapter and use a thumb drive.
10. Biometrics do not work so don’t try to setup fingerprint or face recognition.
Some GSI may work. YMMV

SU!
Tx 4 this development.
Gotta whip out my "old" N9 and try this... sadly as usual with combi firmware there are some restrictions, but hey better than nothing.
Too bad we can't even flash combi on S10's... yet.

I've waited forever to do this. Have a N960 still in the sealed box. Can I flash Magisk with this method or is SU the only root tool?

i dunno wat to tell u.. this is not an unlocked BL so no, magisk as it stands will not be possible.. same as every other locked bl device that has got root over last years and years.. nothing has changed..
that being saidtechnically u can use magisk but it sill b installed in system/daemon mode and modules n everything will not work.. i use supersu bcuz its morestable in system mode and some older root apps like flashfire dont work with magisk su.
if u need more info than this then should research more online on bootloaders, avb, etc etc

Very happy to see this! Thanks, everybody on the team for the development.
Sorry for the question, but I am confused. Would this work on a Note 9 running Android 10? Or, does it need the phone to be running Android 8.0/8.1 Oreo?

You da man, much respect! I'm glad you found a way to bypass the combi authorization that's normally needed.
So, if you can flash the combi, what's holding back running a properly crafted root script?
Kernel's not SELinux permissive with combi or something else?
Now I'm just afraid that Samsung will probably patch this boot/recovery switcheroo exploit... is that possible with a kernel update, or is it hard coded in the hardware?

huh?
Any word on whether custom recovery can be available anytime soon for the 4a? Mine arrives in 2 weeks or so and I hope it's available by then.
Crickets... Is this because the device is shipping globally pretty slowly? I figured with a Pixel we'd see this sooner.
With the new security enhancements of android there isnt a custom recovery for android 10 so I doubt there will be one going forward.
It's really unnecessary these days anyhow
Still seems to me like there is a role for custom recovery to play. If the phone won't boot, it's a way to get in and unscrew it or at least do a full backup before any sort of full reset. I do see Pixel 4 has an experimental version for Android 10.

Agree - the ability to do a full backup on the device and restore it is a nice-to-have, and an unofficial version does exist for A10 Pixel 4.
That said, the September update is probably the last update of A10 for this device.
That backup is fully available function of adb
https://9to5google.com/2017/11/04/how-to-backup-restore-android-device-data-android-basics/
But based on this I will admit, when it's not creating problems twrp can be quite convenient and simplify many processes. I'm building it now, will post soon™
It's going to be an adjustment having to flash ROMs through ADB/fastboot. I've kept my 2xl up to date solely through TWRP for months.
Gonna have to dust off my computer!
EDIT: oops double posted

In my experience, adb backup can have unpredictable results. Plus if I need to unscrew a non booting device, I can't get into adb without a recovery. Glad to hear you are working on a build! My 4a should arrive in a week or two and I can test it eventually.

Any luck? ?
Well my Pixel arrived (Canada). I guess no recovery available for now. Hoping that with increased global distribution of the 4a as of this month, we'll see dev interest pick up.
Flashing through ADB isn't so bad. Just got DU flashed without a hitch
For me the primary benefit of a recovery is ability to extract data from a non bootable device. Gives the ability to recover from a flashing disaster.

As mentioned previously, the unofficial TWRP does work in fact for Android 10 because I tested it with a backup from one device and then did a restore to another device and they were both identical:

Guys is there any custom android 12 rom available for A03s if yes inform me thanks
None for the moment , but it is a new device , give it a few months , in the meantime you can try changing your launcher and some other system apps to have a closer to stock android feel
Its my first samsung phone and i hate it ...
I had the same feeling when I had to use a J2 prime a couple of years ago , just try to remember (as I had to often do) that it is a basic phone designed for someone that just want to call and send texts , its not a really powerful device , but if you can manage your expectations and debloated with adb and customize it a bit wich a launcher an Icon pack and such , you can make it more enjoyable to use
How to make OEM Unlocking appear in Developer Options. Running android 11.
If ur doing it on Samsung A03s,then do this...
1- Turn off the phone
2- press vol up and down both buttons and plug in the cable, hold the button for few seconds after pluggin in cable.
3- After the Fastboot screen is shown ...., Hold the Volume up button for 7 seconds and then again press Vol up button on next screen.
4- your Oem is unlocked now the option in the developer options will be permanently on.
How do I bypass Frp on on A03s?
