It doesn't seem to matter how I set the default SIM in the Dual Management settings. The SIM physically installed in slot 1 will always make the calls. If I try to set calling default to SIM 2, it still goes to SIM 1. The only way I can make calls with the other SIM card is to physically swap them. Is it supposed to work this way? If so, what is the dual SIM management settings for?
I have a FreedomPop SIM in one and a T-Mobile one in the other.
i have two 4G sim cards
when i make a phone call on my secondary sim (i.e. the one that is not used for data connection), i lose my data connection on the primary sim.
is this the normal behaviour?
Yes that's normal.
Unfortunately, all dual-sim phones today are dual stand-by which means that they only have one modem and only one sim can be active at a time. In dual stand-by, if one sim receives a call, the other is disabled automatically till the phone call is ended.
What you are asking about is called dual-active which means both sims can be active simultaneously and can receive calls and data on both sims at the same time, which requires the phone to have dual modems. The last phone that had dual modems was the Huawei Mate 8. Today, unfortunately, they don't make dual modems anymore. I don't know if it's due to health reasons or some regulatory restrictions.
Hi all,
Here is my situation and problem. I have 2 Sims:
SIM 1: Google Fi - my personal number, I want to use it for phone calls only even though it has a small data lan
SIM 2: Verizon - work sim, I want all the data to go through here.
My setting is phone call sim 1 and data Sim 2.
When I make a phone call via SIM1, I lost LTE on my SIM2.
I did call Verizon to get the CDMA LESS feature turned on.
If I were to change the setting to phone call and data through the same sim, then VoLTE works just fine. So I think this is an issue with the phone itself/settings.
Thoughts?

You need to go into settings "SIM & network settings".
Select "Dual 4G networks".
I don't have your issue.

I have a similar problem. Voice on SIM1 data on SIM2 different carriers. Receive calls and text OK answering won't work. Roaming in Europe. Worked OK prior to recent update. Same setup works on Samsung S10e

Can't believe there are so few of us having this issue. Why would the LTE turn off when I'm not even using that sim?
Probably many are using just a single SIM.
Have you tried switching the sims in the slots?

I have no help. In January Mint had an issue where their SIM had to be in slot 1. So I flipped SIMs. Truphone won't work either.
Hi
I have made some research but can't find any.
I have a huawei nova 5t; dual sim phone. both sim cards are active, one is used for making/receiving calls and the second sim card is only for 4G mobile data.
I'd like that on the notification panel, only 1 sim notification is shown and hiding the second active sim network (for the data).
bottom line, both sim card will be active.
any idea how to do it. thanks.
Does anyone have a wifi calling icon with using a physical sim and not the built in esim on tmobile with a locked phone?
I'm just curious if it's a bug in the system with physical sim cards, a US carrier issue (like from the other wifi calling thread) or if it only shows up with using the ESIM.
yes, you will see a wifi calling icon if you make a call. i have this on my locked S22 Ultra with physical SIM.
