Question Software Update disappeared - Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Unlocked variant from Samsung. I had a Software Update setting section. Soon after putting my Verizon SIM in the device the setting isn't there anymore.
Not sure how to fix or get the setting back. I can't check for new updates either

I have an unlocked variant (SM-F711U1) running a Verizon SIM and software updates option is right in the main settings menu

If you can't find it there, try going to Settings; About Phone; then on the bottom you should see "looking for something else?" And software update under it. Check the pic I've attached

This is all I have

Sorry for the late reply, but to me it almost seems like your phone didn't quite set itself to Verizon's configuration when you put your Verizon SIM card in. It's almost like it has no configuration for updating software PERIOD. This is very strange as even the unlocked version, while brand new, with no SIM ever put in should still show some form of a software update option when connected to internet.
The two suggestions I have are 1)
Use Google dialer set to default and dial code *#*#3747#*#* that will take you to a menu with three options and you want to tap on the "phone information" option and there will be a massive amount of information about your phones network configuration in there including stating that it is actively running on the Verizon network and successfully has the carrier provisioning info. (Disclaimer: I suggest not getting curious and manually changing settings in there when you don't know what you're doing because you can disable network bands and really end up having to factory reset your whole phone if you don't fully comprehend what you're changing) I'm just suggesting that you look visually to make sure of what I said above is what you see.
2nd)
If nothing else, pop your sim card out and go to settings, general management, reset and then tap the reset network info option and let your phone reset it's whole network configuration. If it doesn't reboot itself after then manually power the phone down, while powered down reinsert your Verizon SIM card and then power back up and give it a few minutes to get itself reconnected to Verizon's Network and after about 10 minutes I would reboot the phone again and see if anything has changed.

Spoiler: Also check this in about, status information, SIM status
You should see what you see in my picture when you click the spoiler link.

Fix for Chinese device lack of data/data problems.

I've owned 2 Chinese cheap Android devices now and both gave me a problem, so I am going to go out on a limb and say I'm not the only one. In fact I lie, I know I'm not the only one it plagues. The problem I get is that I don't get a data signal, I can make and receive calls and send and receive messages, It's just the data. Does this sound familiar to you? I searched high and low, through pages and pages of various language forums. So I've written this post to bring all my hours of searching together. The problem originates with my network. I'm in the UK and on Vodafone. They seem to be the only carrier in the UK that block the IMEI's that aren't the normal numbers, for example my UK devices all start with 35, but my Chinese devices start with 86. That's the problem.
There is 2 parts to my fix but you might not have to do both. Start with the first and see how you get on.
Fix 1
Go to settings > more... > Mobile Networks > then select the APN you are using, scroll down to the bottom and select Authentication, then select none. Make sure you save the APN. It might take effect pretty much immediately, but probably best to reboot.
Fix 2
This is a little harder but not to bad. Start by downloading an app from the market called Mobile Uncle. Once installed select IMEI backup. This will help if you incase you want/need to restore it.
Next select Engineer Mode > Engineer Mode (MTK) > scroll right to connectivity > CDS Information > Radio Information > Phone 1.

}
Click on the 'AT+' box to pull up the keyboard. Delete the + and it will show you some options click on 'AT+EGMR=1,7" ".
(I don't know how you choose your new IMEI, I never go that far into looking. I just chose a number from a device I don't use)
Type your new IMEI in between the speech marks and press SEND AT COMMAND. Wait a moment for confirmation then reboot your phone. If you want to need/want to do this for sim 2 then do the same process except when you select AT+, select AT+EGMR=1,10" " instead.
Fingers crossed your problems should be solved.

No service with valid sim card

Hi everyone,
I'm having a very bad issue with my Nexus 5.
Last week, my mobile network stopped working, always displaying "No service".
The sim card was still recognized, since I had to enter my pin code after each reboot.
So I tried to put my sim card in a friend's phone, and it worked perfectly on his.
Next, I called Google tech support to get some information and they simply sent me another Nexus 5 to solve the issue.
The thing is, I'm having the same issue with the new phone, but it's even worse.
The sim card is not recognized at first when I reboot the phone.
After I put it out and in once, it asks me for my pin code. And then, I get the "No service" again.
If I try to make a call it says : "Turn off airplane mode to make a call" (see attached screenshot). I tried to turn it on and off, nothing works.
I must precise that the network worked as a charm with the new phone for 3 days and then nothing.
I tried several sim cards from different service providers, and I get the exact same issue every time. and boot in safe mode but i get the no service again

Here is my configuration :
Android 6.0.1
Security patch level : 1 january. 2016
Baseband version : M8974A-2.0.50.2.28
Build number number : MMB29S
Is anyone having this issue ?
Thanks.
There is a known problem with the N5 where a totally dead battery can kill the radio component. No, it makes no sense to me either, but after it happened to me I did a lot of reading across many forums and discovered I wasn't alone. Flashing half a dozen different ROMs made no difference. Eventually I contacted Google and, as with you, they replaced my N5 with a refurbished model which has worked perfectly ever since.
All I can suggest is that you report the second phone to Google and hope that they will replace it again.

Can't connect to network suddenly and emergency calls only

Today i went on business trip and while on plane i put airplane mode on. Upon landing i couldn't connect to network anymore, it gives me 2 errors depending if i manually select network or try automatically, those 2 are Unable to connect. Try later and Error while searching for network.
I reset network settings, restarted phone, reset it, tried different sim in my phone and it didnt work either, mine did in other phone. I dont known what to do besides wait to go home and give it to service since its under wattany... any ideas please?

You didn't say but have you tried a reboot?
At least20 times, wiped cache too
Came home and network works... I'm still taking it to service but don't know how they'll or I can test it. Other sim produced same error abroad so it's not that...
Edit:
Bit of an update:
I called my warranty place they said phone is from Italy which now made sense but that it should work. I ran imei check and it says blacklisted. I bought it new unsealed with warranty from official place so now I'm gonna need a new phone, right?
It is the bug of Samsung. I am having the same problem all the time on both S8+ and S7Edge. Iphone 6 is fine. Typical answer form Samsung is 'network or sim' related. O2 is saying problem with your phone. When I choose network manually everything is working. As a fix you can turn 4g off when roaming

Lte not working after factory reset

Hi all, I first have this error whenever I update or install new app. It'll show up the notification this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Then the sim lost its signal and lock my phone automatically. I'm not sure how to fix this, so I made a factory reset, however, the problem still persist.
Worst (at least to me), the lte does not working at all. I tried "search providers" both manually and automatically, restarted, re-plug the sim out but still not working.
I bought this phone international version; T-mobile sim.
Can anyone please help? Just bought this phone for 2 weeks and feel bad if this can't be solved.
Thank you.
Is your apn correct?

I cannot see what error you are getting but I will bet it has to do with Visual Voicemail.
Here is what to do for this error:
Go to settings > Apps & Notifications > App info > Phone > select "Force Stop > then select Storage > then Clear Cache > then Clear Data. Then get out of settings and open phone app > top right corner select three dots > settings > calls > Voicemail > there is the Visual Voicemail toggle....turn it off > then reboot. I was able to do a Play Store update and the error message is gone. Follow my steps to make it work for you.
As for LTE...how do you know you are not getting LTE? Remember that on this phone, international version, on T-Mobile that it will ONLY say 4G. This is correct. I have the same phone on T-Mobile. Also, when making a phone call it will drop to 3G for data while in the call...normal.

Locked out of Galaxy S22 following / after update -- device rejects / won't accept the correct password

Hello! Posting widely.
Around Nov 11th, about two weeks ago, I caved in and accepted the prompts on my S22 to undergo a firmware update. I'm not 100% positive, but based on the timing (and the assumption that this isn't a carrier update but a Samsung one) I think it was probably the One UI 5.0 rolling out for Android this fall. I was prompted to put in my password to complete the update, but my device rejected the correct password that I've always used since I activated the phone in July!
I have only a few attempts left before my device factory-resets, but apparently this isn't unheard of for Galaxy phones (https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S-Phones/Phone-locked-after-last-update/td-p/730622 -- but calling the specialist number listed therein, multiple times, led to nothing but the suggestion to do a hard / factory reset). I really don't want to lose all data since my last backup!
So far I've tried these steps over the past two+ weeks or so:
- Samsung Find My Mobile is apparently not set up on this device, even Samsung has no record of it
- Android Device Manager won't even ring the phone. It had the correct GPS location at first, but not after I let the phone die and charged it up again. Multiple soft resets haven't allowed it to find via GPS, but despite the never-even-ringing I did try hitting "Lock" and changing the password just once while it still "saw" the phone on the map. Now it just says can't reach device.
- Restarting in Safe Mode: still asks for the password, with "attempts remaining" countdown where it I left it. Can't even hit "Shut Down" or "Restart" buttons because that asks for the password, too.
- Recovery Mode / boot menu ... can't imagine anything I saw there was helpful. Perhaps "wipe cache partition" if something is glitchy? Or, is there any way to roll back to previous Android software I had prior to the update ... or force the same update again via ADB and hope it let me in this time??
- Many support calls to Best Buy, Verizion, and Samsung!
P.S. Not the safest, but I've been using the same password for another, still-in-use device for months now, and I used the eyeball icon on m Android to make sure I'm typing it right, so I know it's correct. I'm not sure what version I'm running or anything, can't get in to check. I'm able to connect apparently to my home, recognized WiFi source just by tapping the WiFi icon, and my Location icon is also lit as active when I drop down from the top of the screen.
Note about the images: my phone language is set to Italian. I bought it in the US, just prefer to see things written in Italian on it.
Is there any way I can hope to enter the phone even just once, to get my data off, without a factory reset? Seems like Samsung says absolutely not.
