Greetings again Galaxy fans, I have another question. I have been considering getting the white S Pen from the Note 10 or Note 20 for my white S22 Ultra. Does anyone know if it will work, and if so, how do you link a new pen to the phone? Thank you, in advance, for your responses.
see how
Just buy the proper S22 Ultra white S Pen, not sure the white pen for another model will work as well as the S22 one.

Agreed that would be the easiest, but it doesn't fit into the phone, which kind of defeats the purpose of the redesign of the device.

How does an S22U S pen not fit into an S22U device?
Before I sent my Note 20 Ultra back to Samsung, I tried the S-Pen and it worked on my S22 Ultra. I just ordered a Note 20 S-Pen off the Bay to keep as a back up.
BTW, the list price for the S22 Ultra S-Pen on the Samsung site is US$49.

There is no official white S Pen for the S22 Ultra. The last white stylus was for the Note 20 Ultra, I have the white S22 Ultra and the pen is black, like all the others for the S22 Ultra. The issue, and maybe it is just my device, is the Note series pens, don't support the full gesture control with my phone, the one I bought, won;t even show it connected with my device. The add-on pens to my phone are round in shape, so they cannot charge or go into the phone. I have purchased and am now waiting for the Note 20 Ultra pen that I hope will function better than the Note 10 pen that I tried.

I believe the top part of the S Pen should be white for the s22u not the entire pen itself.
It is silver like the bezels of the phone.

It is silver like the bezel of the phone. The pen for the Note 20 Ultra is white bodied with a silver tip, it matches the phone perfectly.
I've tried multiple "replacement" S-Pens for Note 10 x2, Note 8, and one other, and all of them will work as a stylus, but none will charge or pair with the S22 Ultra, I finally gave up and ordered a replacement straight from Samsung that is supposed to be a direct replacement of the one included in the S22.
Note7 S-Pen fits the S22 Ultra and works.

But does it work fully, i.e., charging within the phone and the remote controlling of the camera? The issue with the others I've tried has been that it won't register with the phone so it cannot be charged.

No, Note7 S Pen is NOT bluetooth or battery powered, just a 'dummy' type S Pen ie for writing etc.
I prefer the non-bluetooth S Pen, zero battery drain, so ideal for me.
Note5 S Pen, same thing. I do not know about the Note8 or above; i owned Note3 through Note7's (there was no Note6), i forget when S Pen became Bluetooth enabled, N9/N10.
The Note5/7 pens work in the S22 Ultra and vice versa.

I didn't try before I sent it back. I'll update when the Note 20 pen arrives. Normally I only use the pens as a stylus.
The Note 20 Ultra SPen I bought off the Bay performs many functions but when I attempted to reset my SPen I get the message "Can't connect to your Spen".

Even using the stock spen can be obstinate at times to initialize. Adding new variables will greatly increase the difficulty of troubleshooting.
You want its full functionality as well.
Don't get too clever for your own good... bite the bullet and get the correct OEM spen for that phone.
Replace it immediately when done using and if dropped check to make sure it's still nested
Before selling n20u I swapped styluses and while n20u to s22u was flawless the other way around (s22u to n20u) was a partial match. It was ok in terms diameter but couldn't "click " the stylus tip to merge with the edge as if it was a bit longer and couldn't fit inside

I'm supposed to be thrilled by this tablet, in fact I still am (not with mine). A family member traveled to U.S and I ordered a White Note 10.1 and my auncle told me it didn't came with the S Pen which instantly put me in a sad mood all day. I can't find not even 1 site in my country that is selling the spen for the Note 10.1. The main reason I bought this tablet was because I wanted to have the S pen function.. I still does not have the tablet, mostly I'll be getting it tomorrow since they are arriving today, and tomorrow in my city.. I wanted to know just in case if The S Pen of the Galaxy notes 1 and 2 (phones) works good on the tablet? I'm not even excited anymore.. :crying:
I'm just hoping they didn't realize the S pen comes inside the tablet, even tho it's explained in an image in the back of the tablet..
thats very odd, did your uncle buy a 2nd hand tablet thats missing a pen? anyway im sure you can buy an S-pen on ebay, or buy the s-pen from international websites.
also i dont think the pen for note 1 and 2 will work.

Are you sure you bought the Galaxy Note 10.1? Because there's no Galaxy Note 10.1 being sold without the S-Pen. So in my point of view maybe you mistook and bought something like Galaxy Tab (2 or 10.1), such there's no S-Pen coming on those.
If you ordered a Galaxy Note 10.1 from amazon and you received a different one, you can challenge them to be refunded or to change it to the correct ordered product.
Also, FYI, the S-Pen won't work on Galaxy Tab series, it only works on Galaxy Note series because there's an active detection panel on the capacitive screen which locates the S-Pen indication/touch (If you bring the S-Pen closer than 3mm the panel locates the S-Pen approximation without touching it on the screen). And this panel is only present on Galaxy Note Series

Yes I ordered the Galaxy Note 10.1, I know the concept and all, he sent me a picture and it is the note.., but it seems the s pen is missing somehow didn't came in the tablet (maybe problem of furbished or idk), it's brand new, I'm about to receive it.. I hope everything is fine..
So.. I just receive the Galaxy note 10.1 and.. It has the Spen inside My auncle told me he had no idea it was there cause he actually open the box and putted right on the leather case backwards (wrong side) so he couldnt see the S pen lol. I love it! My only question is about the Spen, is normal to push it into the screen to actually use it? I feel its not like feeling the touch like my finger which is very smooth
Great to hear that you got the full package. enjoy!
"Push it into the screen"... did you mean you have to write hard? the tip the S Pen comes with (black tip) is a relatively soft one. if you want smoother feeling you can change to the white tip, which is harder. Personally I feel that the white one is too smooth...
Also, some screen protector make the S Pen black tip hard to use. I used to have an anti-glare screen protector on my note 10.1 and it doesn't feel good to write on with black tip.

Yeah sorry if u didnt understand, sometimes is hard for me to explain some things cause my main language is spanish
Well I feel like I have to push the spen hard in the screen for it to write which I dont really like lol I thougut its supposed to touch the screen and works just like your fingers.. and that kinda bothers me.. how can I change that you are saying. I did notice it came a few black and white sticks but I have no idea how that workx? Thank you
Im not ussing any screen protector..
Use the metal ring that came with tips to pull the black tip out. Theres a little hole where the tip is gripped. Now get a white tip and insert it with the metal ring. Just make sure you insert with the rounded end out....

Yes I just checked that, I don't really note much difference about the black one and the white one.. Is it normal that It doesn't recognize the sensitive when it's touching the screen and not pushing it?
The screen is pressure sensitive, like with a pen, the harder you press down the more "ink" is released and the thicker the line. Even using the finger can take a bit of pressure sometimes, especially when plugged into power...
I have been going in circles trying to find a compatible pen for my Note 8. Many that claim compatibility have an offset when in use. Pens that I have tried:
Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel CS300UK from Best Buy - 2mm offset & reported by many.
On order Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel CS300UK2 - said to be compatible.
Samsung S Pen and Holder Kit. <2mm offset.
The supplied pen & a replacement Galaxy Note 8 stylus work fine with no offset.
There is a good thread at xda regarding the same issues with the Galaxy Note 10.1. I am not sure if the information pertaining to the Note 10.1 can be applied to the Note 8.
BTW The offset is present with the 4 app that I have tried.
It would be nice to see a chart of compatible pens, listing various tablets & the cross platform compatibility of the pens. Many products are listed as "compatible with Samsung Galaxy Note", but there appears to be some variance between the Galaxy Note products related to this offset. Otherwise they work fine.
Thanks,
kev
I have just received a chinese replica I ordered a few days ago.
I wanted to have a replacement Spen which could fit the built-in hole, and of course It does fit. In fact is basically the same stylus without branding. The only issue with this Spen is the offset you mentioned above. All in all, mine doesn't have such a big offset, may be less than 1mm. The gap is so small that is very difficult to measure. I don´t regret the purchase, beside the fact that It only cost 6,19$.
I have attached some photos of the replica.

I got the same non-branded pens & they too suffered with too much offset for me. They also had a wobbly tip. I ended up with a Wacom Bamboo Stylus Feel. Had to order it from Wacom directly to get the version that works with the Note 8. The model number is CS300UK2. It must have the "2" to work with the Note 8. The ones at Best Buy & most other retailers are CS300UK. The "K" is for black, so the white one would be CS300UW2.
Cheers,

I also bought a Chinese duplicate. However, my experience with it is not as great.
It is not a perfect fit into the slot. You hage to apply alot more pressure than you would for the Official pen to get it to fit fully snuggly.
It has also broke for me after about a month and is now completely unusable.
Am considering just getting a the Wacom Feel for Note devices. Please let me know how you are finding it!

The Feel works well for me. As I mentioned, I had to get the right one. It feels better in the hand than the stock stylus & the tip (soft) is very smooth on the screen without feeling too slippery. Haven't tried the hard replacement supplied.

Might not be the best place to post but if anyone knows about all the spen in the world it might be you guys.
The question is which spen has the plastic tip?
Long story version is:
I like to draw digitally, hence I got a samsung galaxy note and later switched to a lenovo yoga 12.2 inch for drawing.
I used to use my original samsung galaxy note 10.1 spen for my lenovo yoga laptop because their stylus just sucked. After that one got lost, I have decided to buy a galaxy note 4's stylus to use with my lenovo yoga, the accuracy was good but a bit draggy.
And that one got lost..(i know)
So I took a chance and bought a fujiutsi lifebook stylus, which was smooth...but the accuracy was off, the cursor followed underneath the stylus and I just couldnt calibrate the thing to work.
So I went back to buying a galaxy note 4 spen which i got for a bit cheaper. the accuracy was great, the pressure senestivity was harder but I managed to fix it. It was then I noticed that the thing was draggy because it had a rubber tip.
...I fiddled with the rubber tip...and It came off...I cant superglue it back..I also noticed without the rubber tip the accuracy is a bit off.
So before I go and buy the same thing..I was wondering if I should buy an spen with plastic tip. I looked around the XDA threads and it seems that samsung provides different tips for their galaxy note 3 users(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478825). I don't think I should buy the tips separately not knowing which one is plastic or rubbery. I think I can get the spen 2(with the thought that spen 2 has a plastic nib) in the same price as the set of spen 3 nibs. But I am not sure if they are gonna have the same accuracy without that rubber tip...or if spen 2 does have a plastic nib.
Or maybe I should just buy a bamboo feel (though that needs battery)
So..help?
Spen which comes with note 3 and note 4 comes with various replaceable tips and it has plastic tips too.
Cant say about note 5 as i dont own it.
But spen with note 3 and note 4 having plastic tip is confirmed.
I'm surprised that the S-Pen actually works on a non Note device! As from what I have heard Samsung's S-Pen uses electromagnetic technology to interact with the screen on Note devices.

Exactly! I've watched a teardown video of the S-Pen, which also explains how the S-Pen functions on the screen. Which uses a electromagnetic grid underneath or in the screen to pinpoint the position of the S-Pen when it's in use. This technology is different from the technology used in traditional capacitive touchscreens.

So in order to save ur own time and money, cancel the order and buy note 3 or or later device's spen.

There is a builtin contradiction in what you are asking. Any "thicker" stylus would not be compatible because in wouldn't fit in the tablet. So any stylus you find advertised as being compatible with the S-Pen is, by definition, going to be thin.
edit: You might ask if anyone has tried the Wacom Gen 3 stylus with the P850. It is said to work with *some* Galaxy Note tablets.

I use the Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 pen with my Tab A 10.1 with S pen. The pen goes for anywhere from $30 to $70 (US Dollars). It feels better in the hand, since I'm not writing with a toothpick (pulled out s pen). The button on the pen cannot be disabled... , but I manage it by turning the pen around to avoid accidentally pressing it with my thumb. Tab S3 pen's tip is more finer like a mechanical pencil vs. a ball point pen (pulled out s pen). You could replace the tip on the pulled out s pen with the Tab S3's tip, but it's not design to hold it correctly. You can write with it, but it will be very wobbly and it may also break.
Bought the staedtler noris digital from Amazon cause in my country the tab S3 pen was not sold separately and it's almost half the cost of the s3 pen. Fantastic pen(cil?) than the built in stylus, smaller tip and more fun to use. The downside is the lousy pencil cap and no clip whatsoever so you need to think a way to store it (I resolve this issue by using velcro around the pencil and stick it to the case).

Hi, Does the tab s3 s pen really works with the tab a s pen? the p580 is the tab a6 10.1 inches right?
Hi, I bought the Lenovo precision pen 2. It works fine but it doesn't capture in an accurate manner what I write or paint. When I try to do the shape of an eye for example, the line isn't smooth and curved (see photo). Is this a problem with the tablet or the pen?
I thought it's Wacom fault.
Mine has similar problem and makes writing difficult.
When I use the pen for scrolling, I notice it's like stop and go
However, Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus doesn't have such problem with P11 Pro

I have just found Precision Pen 2 and I ordered it, but it may take 2-3 weeks to ship.
Stay tuned for update.
Besides pen, P11+ is actually a good tablet for the price and there's a Motorola version as well (G70).
I suspect it's firmware issue can it can be corrected. If same problem happens on my forthcoming Precision Pen 2, I will tell the issue to Lenovo support to correct it.
Yes, Wacom Bamboo Ink Plus works 100% with P11 Pro. You should switch to Pro if writing does matter.

Good luck. Ill probably replace to xiaomi pad 5 because of the pwm in the pro.
Edit: the problem was the screen glass protector

Glad I found this thread...
I bought a Lenovo Yoga 9i Gen 7, it comes with the Precision Pen 2... Since the very first moment I put a screen protector, and when tried the pen for the first time I realized that when drawing diagonals lines they were all "wavy" (as the red lines in the screenshot attached), the weird thing is that only for diagonals, the "straight" ones are drawn well, the same happened to you? I wanna believe it's the screen protector and not a faulty screen or pen... I should remove the screen protector to test but I had a hard time getting one for this model here in Spain haha.

You're not alone
Mine (both P11+ and Yoga Tab 11) have similar issue while the pen works perfectly with Yoga Tab 13
I have a p11 plus and the precision pen 2. My lines are all slightly wavy, unless I make the line very fast! I suspect the firmware needs to be worked out.

I few days ago I removed a screen protector I had since day one on my Lenovo Yoga (9i Gen 7)... I it turned out that the screen protector was causing the wavy lines, now it works lovely, as it should.
I have no screen protector. The wavyness is bad as the OP. Just annoying.
I have a p11 and the precision pen 2
writing and drawing is difficult because the lines are not following my strokes
will remove the screen protector to see if the situation improves...
... so yes, on Bamboo Paper (Notes) the capturing of my strokes dramatically improved.
With Paper Draw the capturing of my strokes is less accurate ...
So, it looks as if there is also a difference is results, depending what app is used...
PS: Sketchbook on Lenovo p11 with Precision Pen2 -> very good results
I saw this thread earlier and decided to remove my glass screen protector and now the pen works great, but I was thinking to put a plastic screen protector will the pen freak-out again ?
