Suddenly getting crazy battery drain

Anyone else get stupid fast drain while its sleeping? I have wifi sleep policy set to turn off wifi when screen is off, and using the task manager nothing looks to be running that i havent launched myself. But usually i'd have the battery last DAYS and DAYS if i wasn't using it that much, but the last few charge cycles it's been nearly dead at the end of the day. Is there an app I can get to monitor stuff while its sleeping to see if something is keeping it from deep sleep? I can't remember what i've installed recently that could keep it in wake-lock or whatever. Thanks guys.
There's a build in feature in the settings menu to tell you what uses battery
Check that the wifi is actually sleeping when the screen is off. Tap the power button to wake up the tablet then look at the notification bar in the right hand corner to see if the wifi is turning on and connecting. If its not doing that then I dont think the wifi is disconnecting and turning off when the screen is turned off.
For battery issues, two "must have" tools are "better battery stats" and "cpu spy"
gary's right. download better battery stats here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats
and since the developer of that app loves XDA, there's a free version for us!

Look into the partial wakelock and find the cuplrit!
Battery Drain
Try loading the free util Auto Airplane Mode which has helped fix the SOD issue and the related battery drain during the SOD.
Sorry to push the old post up again.
Recently im suffering from the weird battery drain, i didnt play/use my phone much on sunday , the idle battery drain is huge. like 8 hrs from 100%-40%.
I've installed both betterbatterystats and cpu spy already.
From battstats , it shows that kworker/0:1-3 and kworker/u:12-13 etc using up most of the batt , secondly is the doubletwist music player.
From cpu spy, most of the time is with 200mhz even i didnt use the phone at all, rarely goes to deep sleep mode.
for the process kworker it didnt show whats the process/app is about , anyone else know wt to do now ?
Same problem here :-(
Fully loaded at 7 o'clock and now I'm 34% - this really sucks!

All you can do is to check the apps you recently installed or updated. They might lock you from sleep. No easy way to control this
For me it was the "samsung-keyboard" - I froze it and now everything seems normal.

single task monitor

Hello,
I am looking for a app or script that will run on my phone and notify me when a particular task is consuming CPU higher than a threshold i define..
i believe there are Apps that can do what I am asking for but they require a white list creating.. i my case I am looking for an exactly 1 system task/process
yes I am talking about suspend task..i have completely understood how to it start in that bad state but there is no way I know to fix it.. so i would rather know when its consuming more than 10% CPU...
all i need the app to do is either have a blinking notification (LED) .. anyone know of anything like that..
watchdog cam close but it cannot monitor just 1 task and I am always busy adding stuff to its whitelist!
yeah I have to say Watchdog would be best, but since youve already used it and tried it out...I dunno what to tell you someone should be able to shed some light and help you out soon

How to improuve your battery usage

Hello,
To monitor what is eating your battery install "system panel" app activate monitor from settings let the phone at list 2h in idle and check monitor history if you have more that 1% on cpu in idle or/and cpu graph dont have many 0 activity then someone is eating your power.
To check who is doing that normaly after installing apps you should monitor this graph. Many apps have bugs and processes try some tasks and eat battery.
To start disable all active installed apps with some tools like titanium etc and enable them 1-2 at the time monitor your battery and so on.
I succeded to make my phone last even 4-6 days at low usage of it.
Also a good ideea is to find an app that can pass to flight mode automaticaly in the night if is not a problem for you.
Good luck to all

i come back with how to make your phone smoother
many kernels for android have more frequencies and governors etc even stock ones
if you want your phone more responsive get a kernel manager which allow to set profiles
when screen off you set lower frequency to min possible and when is on you can try to half of maximum and see how phone works
hope it helps
PS don't blame me if you damage your phone
relating to battery life after test what i said in firs post make sure not to have hardware parts on like bluetooth gps radio etc if not needed these are not seen in the graph from that application

My iball 6318i battery is draining so fast .. tried lots of apps but same :(

hello guys this is my first post in xda
i have owned a i ball 6318i android tablet
it's battery draining too fast !!!!
i also reset my tablet 5 times but no luck
my tablet is rooted also
i tried lots of apps to save my battery like 'Deep Sleep Battery Saver" ' Greenify' 'One Power Guard' 'Du Power Saver' etc etc...
so anyone can help me to save my battery
just go in application manager and disable the apps which you never use.
in developer option at last you will fing backgroung apps. set it to 2 and in developer option close any animations also.
do not leave syncronisation otion onn aa it drains a lot off battery.
turn background data off. its found in data service option.
prefer using mute mode insted of viberation.
donot close apps by clicking home button. as it will run in backgroumd. properly close apps.
after doing this all you should have atleaat 1:30 hours of your battery increased.
peace

Strange behavior with recent apps list

So I've been having battery issues which I've posted about where I lose a ton of battery overnight. Something is keeping the phone from sleeping. I think I have it under control, but I'm still figuring it out using gsam. Before I go to bed the past few nights I've been closing all apps from my recent tray. Now here's the weird part, in the morning there will be some apps in the recent apps list, and these are apps I don't really ever use, like Lyft, which I deleted and calculator, and there have been others as well. Has this happened to anyone else? I noticed it again this morning but last night my battery actually did well and only lost ~8%.

with "which I deleted " ,
Do you mean uninstall or just deleted icon ?
If you uninstalled ,check again in device /settings /apps /....
if app was in fact uninstalled .?
With Gsam app /App sucker / you should be able to pinpoint culprit .
Otherwise ,if an uninstalled app shows up in my "recents " afterwards ......?
i would/should be worried .
I would as a last option ,
but yes ( if have to ) do a factory reset .
For me ,
overnight my device +- 10 hours sleep ,i get about 2 % battery drain.
( data and wifi off )
