Visible OnePlus 8 Warp charging and USB data transfer problems - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Hi,
Anyone using OP8 Visible version running latest OS and having fast charging problems?
I am also having problems with other devices recognizing I plugged the phone, like DJI drone, computer, Android Auto. None of them even realize I plugged the phone. It just charges at normal speed.
Already tried:
1) Factory reset
2) changed myself USB flex cable (bought 2 different ones from MobileSentrix)
3) tried 2 different original Warp chargers with their corresponding OP cables
Device is running:
Oxygen OS 11.1.5.IN68CE
Visible device model IN2015
Any place I can download Visible's previous OS version to sideload?
Thanks

USB Device not recognized / No fast charge

So I've had my S7 for around two months now, and all of a sudden fast charging just stopped working. Thought, oh, must be using the wrong cable (have loads of them micro USB cables floating around)
Now I'm certain I'm using the official Samsung fast charge plug and cable that came with the phone, and still no fast charge. When I try to plug into my Windows 10 Desktop or Laptop I have a message that says the device can't be recognized
Phone has already been rooted and flashed with a custom rom. Didn't think that was the issue as it wouldn't even show the mounted storage in TWRP, or identify the phone in ODIN.
Now I've flashed back to the stock rom that I made a backup of when I had the phone, and I still have the same problem!! Can't access internal / external storage using the supplied USB cable and can't fast charge.
I'm thinking the USB port on the device is just knackard.. but really, I've looked after it so well I fail to see how this could happen, unless it's a common fault.
Might just get a wireless fast charger, but do you guys have anything else I can try before giving up on the USB connectivity?
Cheers
try to connect to a different pc, if same it means your usb connector is faulty
Sounds more like the cable is bad tbh, you won't get fast charge from a PC USB port, only from the Samsung charger
But if the device isn't recognised by the PC, and won't fast charge from the charger, the common thing between them is the cable
Possible it's the phone USB port, but more likely the cable is bad
Afaik certain cables can not fast charge either, so chances are the ones you have lying around that are not the official cable can not support it
Genuine Samsung USB cable is white with the USB port symbol on both ends and the phone end has two small ridges to grip when inserting and removing it, should help identify it
Yep I'm using the official cable and fast charger
I'm trying to fast charge via the fast charger and not USB. Only trying USB to access the internal / external storage.
Tried on my desktop and laptop and both have the same issue where my old HTC m8 connects without any issue.

To fast charge I've tried the original Samsung cable with the fast charge plug.
To connect to the PC I've used x3 different cables that all work with my HTC one m8. With all of them I get device not recognised. Already tried installing Samsung switch and reinstalling drivers which didn't work.

I mean for the HTC, does the Samsung fast charge cable work to connect to the PC?
Does sound possible the phones USB port is faulty if you can't get any connection at all to the PC with multiple cables
Try changing the USB mode in developer options
Networking > Select USB configuration

Yep the genuine Samsung cable works when connecting the htc to the computer.
I've tried enabling USB debugging and switching between charging, MTP, PTP, RNDIS, Audio Source and Midi.. all of them come back with the windows popup

Unfortunately not. Well it's been rooted and flashed so I guess not.
Ordered a wireless fast charger so hopefully that will see me through and WiFi network for file transfers.
I reckon the USB port will need replacing but I'm not really inclined to do that myself.
Just noticed you said you flashed back to stock using a backup you made
Have you tried stock using ODIN and 100% stock files, using CSC to reset?
My dad has a5 2016 with the same issue, and no warranty. I bought flex + connector , replaced it and still nothing. No fast charge ( it takes cca 4hrs to charge it fully ) and no usb connectivity. I gave up on that
@ClowsTyle
Any luck? I seen your recent post in another thread and it sounds like you tried to replace the USB but that didn't work.
I'm having the exact same issue now. Device suddenly stopped fast charging, Windows does not recognize it when plugged into PC. I ordered a new cable to double check and also tried on different computers. I also tried reinstalling drivers, but nothing has worked.
Hi my is doing the same thing no Fast charge and no pc connection, did anybody find out what happen with yours ?
You have to change power ic s535 for s7 edge.
When usb gets moisture power ic will damage.
I have same problem my phone charging 0-100 6hours but ı install notorious kernel and it takes 3 hours it is better than 6 hours
Same Issue
I've had the same issue for the past 3 weeks now and I've tried everything I know...
1. Tested cable and charger with another S7 and they work fine.
2. Factory Reset.
3. Changed the USB port chip.
4. Turned on "Low Battery Dump".
So far, the issue hasn't changed.
was this issue solved?
I´m having same issues whit my galaxy s7 active, I can not fast charge my phone no matter what cable I use, then noticed that evrytime I plug it to any computer it says the devicescan not be recognized, I´m about to buy a new charging port and install it, but I want to make shure this is not a software related issue.
I´ve tried several cables and several laptops/ pc´s
I´ve factory reseted my device and turned on low battery dump, wiped cache partition, and problem still there...
The charger could be faulty/damaged did you try a different charger?

Dial *#08# and select the first option (mtp and another option i am on a custom rom that seems to not have the *#0808# setting
I also have the same issue with my phone the phone charges but not recognize and also tried to change settings on phone and nothing? And my other samsung phone works and nothing wrong with USB tried to install smansung drivers on PC and still same issue.
I tried a different USB and nothing works and different ports on my comp.
My ports works with my other samsung phone so not sure why not with the S7?
Is the USB faulty?

Only ONE USB C cable works for data transfer and Fast Charging.

Hello, I have a problem with my FRD-F09 - EMUI 5.
I bought my phone on auction site- used. And after I receive it I remember that all my usb c cables was working fine. Fast Charging and data transfer was ok.
Then I spotted that Android System was taking too much battery so I decided to unclock bootloader and root so I can remove some huawei services and apps.
I did that and I can't quite remember but I think that after doing that only one USB C cable now works! That one I was using to unlock and root.
Every other cable just charge the phone. No data transfer, no adb, no fastboot, no fast charging...
Anyone, anything?
my friend, i had similar set of problems but my solution was to buy a better quality cable.

Tried almost 12 different cables...
Try enable USB Debugging in Developer options, connect to PC and check if device is showing in device manager. If so, reinstall the driver.
Update HiSuite to latest.
Or maybe try this:
Settings > Security > Allow HiSuite to use HDB = OFF
Settings > Developer options = ON (with no other items in this screen turned on - not even USB debugging)
It surely is the cable that is at fault. Except for the original cable, every other cable I have purchased has shown the same symptoms within a month. Hence, I bought two original cables and almost 6 months no issues.

The problem is that the original cable doesn't work either. It's cable for $3 that works

Can I transfer data from Lineage OS phone to Pixel 2?

Will the method of connecting a cable directly between my Nexus 4 and my Pixel 2 to transfer data, using the Pixel setup process, work if my Nexus 4 is running Lineage OS (latest Nougat nightly)?
Well, I tried it and it said, other phone is not supported. So I guess the answer is no.
Worked fine for me, coming from a Nexus 5 running LineageOS 14.1-20171017.

Huh. And you used the data transfer tool in the setup process on the Pixel 2 and just connected the two phones with a usb cable?
Yup, just followed the setup instructions. I did have USB debugging turned on on the Nexus 5, not sure if that matters.
I tried it again and this time instead of saying my device was not supported, it said the cable I was using wouldn't work and to try another cable. I was using the cable that came with my old phone, as instructed. So instead I tried the only other micro USB cable I have, which came with my Nokia N86 eight years ago and then the data transfer tool was happy, go figure. I guess it just shows that the quality of the old Nokia N series smartphones still can't be beat.

Phone power issues AA not working

Hello everyone.
So I have a few issues which I am guessing are all somewhat related.
TL;DR
1) Android auto stopped working
2) if I reboot. It will just power off and needs to be plugged in to power back on
3) usb c to usb c only works one side not both sides. But usb a to usb c works both directions.
Note: my wife has the same phone and had none of these issues with the same cables and such. So it's not cables issues. We also have the same OS.
The longer detailed version.
First issue. Android auto stopped working. At first it told me that there may be an issue with the cable and that I should get another cable. I tried my wife's pixel 3 xl and it worked fine. So it's not the cable issue. I tried restarting. The phone did not. So I plugged it in and it powered on. Now the phone will only boot if it is plugged in. Plugging the phone into the car usb a to usb c it charges on both side of the cable but there's no longer any warning about the cable for Android auto. Again my wife's phone works with the same setup so it's an issue with my phone. Then when plugging my phone in using the oem cable I noticed it only chargers using one side. The other side fails. Tested my wife's phone and both sides work. I then test my wife's cable and same issue with her cable for my phone.
Pixel 3 XL
OS 11 RQ1A.210105.003
I did a factory reset but same issues remain.
I'm open to using a ROM if it will fix the issue.
I saw a few posts on google forums about this issue but not fix/solution so I was kind of wondering if a ROM would possibly fix this issue.
Thanks so much for any help.
Willing to try most items as phone is out of warranty and I really like Android auto and hate not having it.

USB data connection not working

Hello community,
I've a realy weird problem with my OnePlus 7 Pro. It started when I upgraded to Android 11 half a year ago, after that USB connection was only possible with this red OnePlus cable, but with this it worked always. After some time connections started to fail sometimes. Since a month or so it worked only when i charged to >90% and then did a reboot. 2 Weeks later a had do boot into recovery and wipe cache to make it work once. A week ago it stopped working indepented what I do. This morning I did a full wipe but still no data connection possible (charging works). To make this even more weird, the device charges using any USB-A to USB-C cable, but with a C to C it won't even charge
I tried mutliple cables, 2 computers with Windows 10 and even a live Linux to, so the problem must be the phone. EDIT: other Android devices works without any problems.
Any ideas what I can try to get it work again?
Perhaps due to the use of fast charging and an incorrect cable with poor amperage matching or poor heat dissipation, the USB-C socket in the phone, i.e. the contacts on the PCB or even its surroundings, overheated.
i won't deny this is a possible reason but this would not explain why 3rd party cables stopped working the minute I installed OOS11 or why I could make it work by wiping cache.
What is the device name print into your device manager console, when you plug in the phone in storage mode ?
