I seemed to have lost the camera icon from my home screen (not lock screen) and can't get it back. i have looked at all posts related to finding the icon and no luck. I have an A42 %g phone and all options i try come up empty. No where can i find an icon to push and hold to transfer to the home screen. Can anyone lend a helping hand??? Any help is appreciated. thanks

Does it show in safe mode?

Think back to what happened before this occurred. Any new apps or unusual behavior?
Malware or spontaneous corruption is a possibility.
Factory reset if you give up trying to track it down or can't. Reflash stock rom if that fails.
didn't really do anything. must have been inadvertent. Opened up my phone to take a pic and the icon that used to be att the bottom of my home page was gone. Tried to find the icon to restore it to that location but cannot find one. I can double tap the power button to open it but cannot find the icon. Tried everything i know and still nothing,

i keep being asked which app i would like to perform actions - i make a selection & all is fine until the phone is rebooted, then off it goes again.
i've trawled the general system settings looking for a toggle but failed to find anything related to default settings storage.

Probably another program overriding your selections. Try try going to Menu button on your phone and select Settings option, scroll down to the Applications section and tap it. On the next screen, tap Manage Applications and then the All tab on the subsequent screen, scroll down the list of apps until you see the App in question listed and tap that entry. On the next screen look for the "Launch by default" section and hit the Clear defaults button. Reboot and select the default program you want and see if it sticks on the next reboot. good logical advice, which you would assume would do the trick.
unfortunately, it doesn't fix the problem
i was wondering if there's a file somewhere whch can be edited & locked?
im not 100% sure where those things are saved, maybe in settings.db file of the android settings app.
Check your phones app directory, there should be something like
com.android.providers.settings and com.android.settings
I could imagine that the filepermissions are wrong on certain files and thus your new selection are not saved.
i've searched for hours with no success for a db file. i do believe you are on the right trac but it'll take a smarter mind than my own to highlight where the setting is hiding.
there is a lockscreen toggle option on the redux2 rom, so i've asked over there.

My phone can't swip up form the keys for browser or lock screen! Or see nonfictions!!!! And I can not get to my quick settings!!! I was missing around with the advance settings app and I had hit some thing and the next thing I know my phone is tripping!

What phone are you using? What advance settings app?
Considering you are not rooted, you should try to restart your phone, wipe cache or if nothing works, restore it to factory settings.
I updated to lolipop, rooted and unlocked BL and some things are missing, most notably the nvidia power control. Pretty sure my tab is stuck in low performance/battery saving mode and the settings page to go to performance or whatever is no longer present.
So I was wondering if there was a place I can get the apps, or if any rooted users can pull them off theirs and share them.
I have the 16gb wifi.

Thx for responding, but like i said, its not there. It just closes when i click the dots for the menu.

Did you hard reset after updating?
Need to ftr.
Also, menu has changed on L5, add a settings widget to your home screen for power saving, there is soc menu.

I have only done normal reboots since updating, it did not freeze or restart during the update if thats what you meant.
I don't know what the issue is, but lots of apps broke across the update. Things like facebook give me -506 error not installing but the apk is still in /data/app.

I've heard FB has some kind of issue that some recommend to uninstall for time being.
I mean a hard reset, not a reboot. Go into settings, back up & reset, wipe all. You will lose everything, back up what you want save.
Always a good idea to wipe when doing a large update such as L5, and especially L5.

Power Control is hidden on Lollipop.
Go to Home Screen and add a witget for settings, then select Power Saving for the option. That should bring you the original Shield Power Control.

I need some help. I have nexus 5. It's rooted. And I use xposed modules. I have been a facing this problem since today. Whenever I swupe from left a black rectangular box appears on the side of the phone.. And I tap on it several times, swipe, long press ( I don't know what works) to get rid of it.. Need help figuring out what it is and how to disable it. Images of the same have been attached

I have but not activated

And had uninstalled xsuite today or yesterday don't remember

At first, reboot into safe mode to check if this side bar is caused by a user or system app.
Then try again without Gravitybox. There's a black border like that when changing the position of LMT Launcher. Do you have it?
Another solution would be to record a log when you tap on it.
Did not understand your reboot into safe mode solution. Can you explain what exactly to do and how to fibd out if it is a system app or user app. I do not have any launcher. How do I record a log?

I tried to remap my Jovi button using the button remapper app but it stops working after a while. I have it locked in recent apps, set up as an exception in battery saver, I even ADB uninstalled the i Manager app but without success. Then I figured out my accessibility keeps resetting from on to off for all apps (not just the button remapper). Do you have any ideas how to stop it from doing so?
P.S. I don't think factory reset will help as this was the problem from the very beginning, before any modifications were made.

I've had the exact same issues but have no idea why it's happening.
Also, from the sounds of things, a number of other people have had similar problems in the thread explaining how to re-map the button.
Same issue here. Except with Nova Launcher. Accessibility keeps turning off.

I fond a solution for the accessibility issue
STEPS
1. Open the app enable accessibility
2. Go to the recent apps menu and block it (with the lock)
3. Then reboot and DO NOT CLOSE IT BEFORE U REBOOT
4. When you boot up you will see in the recent apps menu the app will be not there and your good to go

don´t work for me, please can you explain little more detailed my accessibility keeps resetting every day 2 times and i need to restart my phone to get the apps who needs accessibility started again. this and notification trouble are my only problem with the phone its horrible. i get used to the funtouch os theme don´t bother me any more.
