Xperia 1 root guide

Update on 27.6.2019
Now Magisk Canary (19303) has fixed the boot loop issue.
Everyone can use the newest Magisk manager, select "Canary Channel" to patch the boot.img.
First , unlock your Xperia 1.
go to
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/get-started/unlock-bootloader/
to unlock your Xperia 1.
If you can not find the Xperia 1, you can choose Xperia xz2.
It also give you the right unlock number.
Second, patch your boot.img
the newest Magisk 19.4 is not supported for Xperia 1.
You must use the Magisk 19.0 .
downlowd the rom and unpack it, find the "boot_X-FLASH-ALL-A2CD.sin", it's the xperia 1's boot.img.
downlowd the magisk manager, install and open it.

Go to settings, tap the "Update channel", and select "Custom", then type it with this

Go back to the Magisk manager, tap the "INSTALL", and "select and patch a file", select the "boot_X-FLASH-ALL-A2CD.sin", wait a moment.
then you will get a patch_boot.img.
Go to Fastboot mode, and flash it. "Fastboot flash boot xxx.img"
Enjoy it.
I will put my patched boot.img here, but my xperia1 mode is J9110,CHINA MODEL. it may be not supported for you.

i still remember android 9.0 on sony smartphone. After you have unlock bootloader. "sittings-display-quality-Vedio image enhancement"will not useful. Is it also happen on xperia 1 ?

I currently are using a xz1, i rooted before a drm backup existed, and yes, there are drm fix solutions, but you loose forever the video enchantment even with it.
If you are Ok with that, then go ahead, rooting is always great

i'm not a video guy and don't even take many pictures lol
so u make me thinking about lol

Well, you if you can live a few months without root, will be a better option. In my case i will wait, i will freeze or remove via adb the bloatware meanwhile.
One of the best points of the Xperia 1 is the video consumption capabilities, and i think a lot of the "magic" would be lost without the video enchantment and Bravia features.

Do you know how to flash firmware for another country?

General [ROM] [OFFICIAL] [TB-J716F] ZUI_13.0.346 OTA update Chinese ROM

Hi everyone,
Here is the ZUI 13 OTA update for the Xiaoxin pad pro 2021 (TB-J716F):
Download
This has only been tested coming from ZUI_12.5.238 with locked bootloader.
I can't say if it works with unlocked bootloader or different version so try at your own risk.
Instructions:
1. Download file and put in the root of the tablet.
2. Rename "TB-J716F_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00209.3_R_ZUI_12.6.238_ST_210824_to_TB-J716F_CN_OPEN_USER_Q00209.3_R_ZUI_13.0.346_ST_211108.zip" to "update.zip"
3. Press the 3 dots in OTA window and select "Use the install package update"
4. Install and enjoy!

Cool. I'm currently on 12.6.238st and will try this.

Just be aware if you do this you will lose play store certification (for now) I presume Lenovo will pass this version to Google for certification eventually.
There is another report on here that they updated to the latest version of the play store and was recertified but i'm on the one from 18.11.21 and no certification (28.0.33-19).
Widevine L1 intact.

I've just done the update on the first post. Google play now doesn't say "not certified" it doesn't say anything. However Netflix does not show up. I'm pretty sure before the update it said certified and if you searched for netflix it would show up.

Final update from me. Without doing anything netflix is now appearing on play store. Update gets a thumbs up from me.
Fake rounded edges gone.

The download will likely be in downloads on your internal storage. Using a file explorer rename it to "update" then move it to the base folder (the one that contains all other file folders).

Can anyone please upload the files to a google drive or onedrive? I am unable to download it from mega as I have a free account and the size is too big. Thanks!

thank you very much @zxcv88 both 2 ota work well now , can you show us how to get these ota file like that ? It seem that lenovo block OTA on some devices which is out side of china mainland ( device does not receive any update from system update UI)

It may do eventually? I'm UK based and it hasn't so far. The manual update went fine.

I've updated to zui13 with no issues. Any idea on how we can sideload the Lenovo one on a non Lenovo Android phone? I want to mirror my smartphone to my tablet.

Question My gt neo 2 does not support Widevine L1. Why? How to fix?

my gt neo 2 is in Indian RUI 2.0/Android 11 ROM. But it doesn't support Widevine L1. The smartphone is only in Widevine L3. I already updated to Global ROM RUI 3.0 but it didn't work. I've also tried it on Indian ROM RUI 3.0 and it didn't work either. Lastly, I downgraded to Indian ROM/ RUI 2.0 android 11 and still L3 . I already contacted Realme support but they didn't respond. Someone help me?

I'm not sure if this could help but maybe try to flash the universal safetynet fix module in magisk. I did that and Netflix was available in the Playstore again so maybe try...

please refer to my post regarding widevine. Just to remind you that you need to be patient waiting for them to reply your email etc. They are very slow! Don't send them by many emails at once or else your tickets will be pushed down.

I saw your post. But your file doesn't work on my device. I've done everything, tested all possible ROM's. All tests I did with the bootloader locked.

I think I will delete the apk as many people thought that it will work on their devices when it's not because it was assigned with my IMEI number specifically. My bad. And, yes just wait for their reply.

It cannot be. My phone is originally a chinese rom with no google whatsoever. I change my rom after getting the widevine key and it still work fine even after changing to another region back and forth for testing. You should ask directly to get the widevine apk with your imei. There is no need to tell them your device's region.

yes 11. i forgot which version. But you really don't need to worry about the version of the android or the region. what matters is the apps with your imei written in it. That's how they registered your devices with different level of widevine regardless the rom you have.

bug: eye protection, color adjustment, stylus not working, Dolby (brushable module), unlocking the protective cover.
Basically some bugs that do not affect the use, as for the stylus can not be used because to fix the automatic rotation.

Basically, he said
1. He got rid of his iPad cos he needed a pen 2. Zui is crap. Not a day goes by without rebooting the tablet
3. Unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash miui
4. Sharing files between xiaomi phones and tablet is easier. So is screen sharing with win10
5. System is more stable
6. Less cursor movement when using the pen
7. I think the rom is debloated cos he mentioned there’s less preloaded miui apps
8. Some may feel zui’s PC mode is better, but he doesn’t think so. YMMV
9. He didn’t install camera (didn’t mention why). But scanning of QR codes work (apparently)
10. No changing of colour temperature and blue light filter

Question Poco x3 pro Device is not certified in Google play store

Hello,
I changed my Poco x3 pro system to Pixel experience custom rom and rooted it after that I returned the system again to its original miui system and locked the bootloader but I noticed that the device became not certified in the Google Play Store so I downloaded the SafetyNet Test app and found The Safety Net Compatibility Test is Failed and the CTS profile match is false
Please help me if you find any solution

Bro I need to solve this problem without rooting in the original miui system. I don't want to run banking applications only. I just want to return the phone as it was

If your phone is locked with official MIUI but still have issues, find Xiaomi/Redmi/Poco customer service and/or repair center.

Update: and yes maybe its on v13.0.8 due to beta build cause 13.0.4 is now stable update
