I got an Samsung XCover 4s and tried to flash Lineage 18 with this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sing-odin-without-twrp-phh-lineageos.4114435/
However it never really worked (I also tried the other customROMs) and the device either started with its old firmware or just entered download mode on start so I could flash the original firmware again with Odin v3.13.
Unfortunately I did a mistake in the last try and created the new AP_xxx.tar.md5 with vbmeta.img.lz4 from the original firmware instead of the clean vbmeta.img.lz4 and flashed it. Now the device only shows the start screen and then goes black or reboots when connected to USB. I also tried to enter recovery and download mode via VOL_DOWN + HOME + POWER and VOL_UP + HOME + POWER but it doesn't work.
Is there any other option to enter download mode and flash the original firmware or is the device bricked?
Nevermind, I got into download mode again by plugging in the USB cable and pressing VOL_DOWN + HOME (NO power button) for several seconds. Flashing the original firmware worked

A while back I flashed my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 with a SLIM Rom. I used Odin way back to do get what I needed. It has been a while since I loaded a custom rom, but maybe I am missing a step to get CWM loaded so I can load another custom rom. The following are the steps that I go through.
1. Power the device down
2. Boot the device into recovery mode (HOLD Power button + volume down). the screen says it is in ODIN Mode.
3. Plug in the USB
4. Fire up Odin
5. Load 'GT-P3113_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.1.0.tar' in the PDA field
6. Click Start
Then the device boots up normally and then loads like normal. How do I get it to boot CWM in the recovery mode?
Hold power + home + bolume up button to boot into recovery
I tried to install install custom recovery using rashr it gave me a message that it has installed the recovery. It asked whether to go to recovery mode or not. Yup my answer was yes. But instead of going in recovery mode I got in Odin/ downloading bode and I am stuck here. My computer does not recognize my phone even adb and Odin.
I tried reinserting battery, using vol+/- , home button and power button. But it restarts and starts in downloading mode. I can even not enter recovery mode.

[Solved it]
I pressed the volume - ,home and power key. When the phone vibrated I left the power key. It showed me the warning that I saw before.( Installing custom OS...............) I PRESSED the volume + Key . after that my pc recognized my device I came back using odin
I've formatted the tab using latest twrp recovery after that I did a restart using recovery and it was taking long to boot back to recovery and force restarted it by holding power button.
Now I can't boot to reocovery or download mode by holding volume down + power button & up + power, it does boot into the usual Galaxy tab logo and then nothing.
If i hold the power button to long it's just boot back again to the tab logo.
When I put the charger to the device it just stuck on the battery logo.
I've also removed the back part and removed battery and tried again, But still same...
Also tried to flash the odin when it's stuck on galaxy logo, odin does recognize the connection but can't flash anything!
Is there any other way to boot back to download mode????
EDIT :
I did removed the back part of the tab to remove battery and try inserting, but still I was not able to boot to download or either recovery mode by hold power + volume buttons.
I think maybe the power button or the volume button has some issue that's why it was not able to boot into recovery/download mode.
After that I've drained the device battery and reconnected it to device charger and it automatically booted into download mode.
And flashed the stock rom then switched to a custom rom!
Problem solved for now, I'll update the thread later!

if not:
try to connect your phone first to PC with USB cable & then press vol up + vol down + power button at the same time.
reflash full 4 files repair firmware with odin!
tick reset flash time in Odin!
download Odin & firmware from a source you trust!
(I once had unapparently downloaded a malware Odin, in my case it just refused to work the second time I wanted to flash with it.
could be that the security in my pc did a good job.
but maybe smth like that can do more damage)
Hello,
I bought a Samsung S8+ from someone.
Initially it worked, but during a facebook video call, the phone went off.
It was impossible to turn it back on, except in download mode. (It doesn't even boot up to the Samsung logo)
So I used Frija to download the latest OS for the G955F XEF, and flashed with ODIN (CSC File).
Odin indicates that the flash was successful but the phone does not restart and still does not turn on, except in download mode.
So I tried a flash again with Nand erase. Once again, the flash went successfull, but the phone does not start except in download mode.
I'm not sure what to do anymore: unsure:

Reboot to recovery with power + vol up
You havent said anythinf about the recovery
Nothing is happening when I try to boot in recovery mode.
Only download mode is working.
I tried flashing with Odin 3.14.4 too (had a older version before)
Use fastboot
Do fastboot reboot
Fastboot is power + volume up + bixby right ?
Nothing is happening... phone won't boot.
It is only booting in donwload mode power + volume down + bixby
