Pixel spam and caller ID on Oxygen? - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Is it possible to get some of the Pixel experience stuff like spam blocking, Google assistant answering and caller ID while running Oxygen OS?
I'm using an AOSP ROM right now and I forgot how much I like it.

Call Blocker, SMS Bomber, and much more in one handy app

Ever wanted to SMS bomb someone? This is the perfect app, it's called Extreme Call Blocker (Stealth). Also if you are receiving unwanted calls or SMSes you can block those as well, for example telemarketing stuff. It has a lot of options and is well worth investigating.
Check out this Youtube video for a taste of how the app works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=E8iDO86M2U0
This is the Google Play URL for more info: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greythinker.punchback
I can't live without it anymore as there are some people that are stalking me which I would like to ignore. Saves me buying a new simcard and changing numbers. Thanks
This might prove itself usefull.
Samsung S8
Hi there,
Does Extreme Call Blocker work on Samsung S8 (Nougat)?
Many thanks in advance!
The reviews on Google Play Say most of the time the app doesn't work and hasn't been updated since May 2016

How to disable the 'seen' feature on Facebook for android?

Hey, I just switched from Apple to android for one reason. Customization. On my iPhone, I had Cydia where I could download tweaks and stuff that would give me a feature that would make me 'unsee' the message that I saw on Facebook, thus not marking it as 'seen' on Facebook.
Is there a similar feature on Facebook for android for this? Like a code or something that will hide it when I 'see' the message?
Please help. Thanks
Bump. I also want to know of there is tweak for Android or Xposed module for this feature? Like Bluepill or FBPrivacy on iOS..

OnePlus One on CM 13.1. Can't enable truecaller service

hi,
since CM is not longer a company and there service is down I can't register to account.
This is ok since I don't need any feature from it BUT it's a mandatory step before enabling true caller service (integrated in the phone app).
Since it way better then true caller standalone app I really dig it.
Can someone think of a way to edit some system file, xposed, something else to solve the registration issue?
Thanks

What's the issue in deleting existing Truecaller app and then re-installing the latest version?

I'm talking about the built in truecaller service. to enable it you must have CM account.
Since you can't create one these days your can't factory reset your phone.
Maybe sniffing the web activity and providing fake site?

Yes,because it was integrated with CApps that came with Cos but you won't be needing a CM account if you install Truecaller from Play Store(or apk from any other site).

It was a oneplus one feature. The true caller in that was hassle free and way better integrated into the dialer. Maybe because of that he's trying to enable and use.

The one thing I like about iOS compared to Android

The ONE thing I like about iOS is the more platform agnostic than Android, at least in regard to email and personal information management. In iOS, mail, note and calendar app could easily be configured to sync with 3rd party providers with the native support for IMAP, webdav, caldav baked into the core of iOS.
While in Android, you need 3rd party apps and have to go through the trouble of disabling or hiding entries from google services i.e. contact and calendar. It's like you need to apply some patches and fixes to the OS to get things to work the way you want. While its' just get up and going right away in iOS.
In contrast to the "wall garden" philosophy, iOS offers more freedom in this regard.
What Android user uses Google Contacts and Calendar?
Lol, give Google Android a chance; by Android 13 or 14 it will be just as screwed up as iOS. Google is working hard to get there...

For me I don’t see any screw ups. Much better than being drown in unremovable bloatware in Android phones.

No bloatware on my stock N10+'s, it's all package disabled unless I want it. Firewalled too. Android are what you put into them... and battery replacements aren't a big deal. This heavily used N10+ will soon be due for its second battery replacement.
Since the N10+ Samsung been dropping balls everywhere.
Since Android 9 Google been screwing up trying to be like iPhone.
Time will tell... but never underestimate either one's ability to completely fubar their products
They are experts at that.

Question Android 13 call recording

I tried to search in the couple of recent forum pages but failed. Is there any way to enable call recording in 6a?
AFAIK call recording apps no longer work after may/october 2022 update.
Is it possible to swap dialer to the one with this feature enabled? This would require root. Can you unroot the phone after the swap? Many banking apps do not like rooted phones so I'd like to limit rooting to a minimum. (done that a lot with my samsung s7 years ago)
I see it's possible to roll-back to android 12 or pre-october android 13 versions (not user friendly but doable)
Does any custom-rom allow call recording?
There is a way to enable call recording in google dialer but i dont remember if root was required. For me it was useless since you couldnt get rid of the "this call is being recorded" announcement
Whit root there are options, i use basic call recorder module in magisk.
Regarding the banking apps, adding them in magisk denylist and ticking enforce denylist works well. My banking app does not detect root and neither does revolut.

I use "Cube ACR" app records perfectly on the 6a, think it cost a few pounds but they may have a free version.
It records VoIP platforms like Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram, WeChat, LINE, Slack, Hangouts, calls as well which is a bonus.
this works for me on graphene

Do you have latest Android installed? I used cube acr on my current p30 a lot and liked it. Than after some update it stopped working and I had to switch the stock dialer for Indian one.
