Why are you flashing aonly GSI. Our device is ab. Also make sure you are using latest platform tools folder. And also do "fastboot reboot fastboot" before flashing GSI

Is it in stock or GSI?

So, actually I formatted the whole phone.
I mean now IMEI is not there on either of them.
I tried flashing NVRAM and NVDATA from different dumps but no luck
Now I am on Corvus v S3.0 here it shows IMEI and sv as unknown.

That is a bug actually. If you flash a GSI over stock android 10 IMEI and sv will be unknown. But It's fine as long as calls and messages work fine

This bug is not there when flashing a GSI over stock android 11

Acer A1-830 stuck in boot loop soft bricked.....

Okay i have an A1-830 & was installing a game, made a couple of modifications & now i have a soft bricked device.
I was installing Gangstar Rio & made some changes to try & get it to run as the minimum specs, my device had to run it but @ 1st it stated that the license was invalid so i changed the date backa year on advice from someone & it worked but then it stated that the device was incompatible, so i researched & found that was happening to most with devices that should have ran it but someone had advised to make some change to the 'batch.prop' file to fool the game to think it was a different device. I may have accidentally changed something in the batch file that caused this. i can't be certain but yeh, when i rebooted my tablet it got stuck @ the Acer logo in bootloop.
I tried recovery & did a factory reset & it acted like it was working but when i rebooted my device it still bootlooped. I then did some research & i tried to flash the stock rom but got errors each time i tried. i'll list the errors below;
i started off trying to flash the 'system.gz' file as follows;
>fastboot flash system Acer_AV052_A1-830_1.014.00_WW_GEN1.system.img.gz

Download this to your computer and unzip it. Don't unzip the system folder in the zip file. Open fastboot and do fastboot flash boot (the boot img) then once that's done, do fastboot flash fastboot (fastboot img) then do fastboot flash recovery (recovery img) and then do fastboot reboot-bootloader. Then do fastboot flash system (system img.gz). Then on the tablet using the volume keys and the power button, go to recovery and wipe data then reboot, now it should be done!

I am not sure but by now you must have probably fixed it but try to boot into recovery and wipe data and reboot. That usually fixes bootloops upon flashing stock roms *ehum*samsung*ehum*, never the less, it also worked for me in my acer and I am back and running!

I'm also having the FAILED (remote: flash_cmds error!) error. I have tried to do the steps in the specified order in the comments and I still get the error.

Have you wiped data? Also, reboot droidboot and make sure fastboot recognizes the device. Maybe you can try adb pushing the files via fastboot oem startftm command.

Root Fail Help?

Hello,
I am unable to root this dang phone! Trying to use RootJunky's "RSD Lite for Mac and Linux" instructions found here: ww.rootjunky.com/tag/linux, and just failing! I've got two phones now stuck in "Please wait, this may take a few minutes" mode.
Computer Specs:
Ubuntu 16.04
Phone Specs:
DROID RAZR HD
182.46.15.XT926.Verizon.en.US
4.4.2
VANQUISH_BP_100731.020.64.21P
KDA20.62-15
Steps:
Downloaded RSD-Lite-Mac_Linux.zip from ttp://rootjunkysdl.com/files/Android%20Programs/RSD-Lite-Mac-Linux.zip
unzip to a folder
Downloaded VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml.zip from AndroidFileHost.com (Motorola-Firmware-Team)
unzip to same folder
Open terminal
cd to folder
run `sudo ./rsd-flash.sh VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml`
At first this would not get past the first file in the .xml. I had an MD5 error. After fiddling with it for hours I discovered that I needed to change all the MD5's in the .xml to lower case! Ok. Did that. Which got me through the flash, but with MANY ERRORS.
[email protected]:~/Documents/projects/droid/razr_hd/RSD-Lite-Mac-Linux$ sudo bash rsd-flash.sh VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml

Hello rahimali,
Thanks for the response. I've been going through the post you recommended.
The phones I have are:
post-June 2014 (July 29th 2014 to be exact)
.182.46.15
The post recommends I flash 183.46.15 to them, but I have not found a way to do this. I'm on Ubuntu Linux and cannot find a tool to perform the flash. I tried Root Junky's rsd-flash.sh script with the VZW_XT926_4.4.2-KDA20.62-15.1_CFC_1FF.xml firmware. Even tried editing the .xml to remove the lines recommended in the post you provided:
<step operation="getvar" var="max-download-size" />
<step operation="flash" partition="partition" filename="gpt.bin" MD5="....MD5 sum here...." />
<step operation="flash" partition="tz" filename="tz.mbn" MD5="...MD5 sum here...." />
This did not work either. Same errors just after writing 'recovery':
writing 'recovery'...

The 182 or 183 is irrelevant. The fact that you have a July 29 kernel means that your bootloader is locked and cannot be unlocked unless you use the Sunshine app and pay them the requisite amount of $25.
But since your question related only to rooting your device, you can also find out how to do that from the linked thread.

I think the fact that my phones have 182 IS relevant. The post you pointed to says:
" If device has system version 182.46.15 XT926
Likely will need to flash the 183.46.15 XT926 firmware first, see end of this post for RSD Lite Instructions "
The RSD Lite Instructions in that post are what I've been trying to follow, but with Ubuntu, my only option is the Root Junky script I mentioned before that is not working. Trying RSD Like 6.2.4 on Windows 8.1 Pro in Virtualbox, but its not recognizing my phone.
What a PITA!

Wowsers, i've been working for days on this now... no go.
I have an official Motorola Data Cable plugged into a USB 2.0 port on my computer.
So far i've tried:
* Root Junky's rsd-flash.sh script on Ubuntu 16.04- NO GO due to the errors shown above
* Hydrogen Peroxide method on Windows 8.1 VM- NO GO due to "Your device is not supported" message at the Make it Rain step
* Flashing the stock firmware back to the devices using RSD Lite on Windows 8.1 VM- NO GO because no matter what I try, the phones will not show up in RSD Lite
* KingoRoot tool on Windows 8.1 VM- NO GO because it only supports phones up to Android 4.3
The next thing i'm going to try (which really looks like a PITA) is to use the SparseConverter tool to break up the system.img into manageable chunks in order to flash using Root Junky's script.
I rooted an XT926 way back in 2013 and it was a piece of cake. Android/Google/Motorola really hosed folks when they patched those pre-june 2014 exploits.
I still have that phone. Does anyone know if I can pull "the rootiness" off of it and "clone" it onto these other phones? That would be awesome.
Thanks
aEHHHSHHAHUGGHHH!!! I'm pissed now.
DOes anyone know why this is happening? Why does adb devices show nothing but fastboot devices shows the phone I have connected?

I was able to connect to my device using fastboot. I issued the command sudo fastboot flash recovery recovery.img from the stock firmware. The phone seemed to take it just fine. Still in boot loop. "Please wait, this may take a few minutes." then reboots.
Going to try to flash the boot.img next using fastboot to see if this makes any difference. Still unable to flash system.img due to the "chunk size" errors above. Does ANYONE have insights into this issue?

Just use windows operating system instead and use this here to root. Just follow directions in the cmd here is the link for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3172551&d=1424298564 Also you will need this apk towel root by geo hot here is the link : https://towelroot.com/tr.apk install apk and run it when it tells you to in the cmd during root process. If you try over and over and it wont work then you can use kingo root as temporary root just don't reboot device until you unlock bootloader with the sun app witch you can download the apk from their website here http://theroot.ninja/index.html Note: The sun app cost 25 dollars to use it will ask for card information during unlock process.

How to install RUU

Hello
I would like to return my HTC one mini to factory firmware. After much searching, I found and downloaded this:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=29622

I checked my device version:
$ Fastboot getvar version-main

finished. total time: 0.006s
I tried this:

What could be the problem?
P.S. I cannot open the zip file in Windows. It says it is invalid. Could be corrupt?
Hmm... I think that a Relocked bootloader is the problem. By the way did you try flashing the RUU trough TWRP?

Cannot flash system into Xperia E C1505

Hi guys,
I have problem with my rooted Xperia E C1505 with unlocked bootloader. I'm trying to flash system but it always end with error.
What I tried:
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
Ends up with:
Code:
target didn't report max-download-size

finished. total time: 0.008s
So I tried to flash it in multiple parts:
Code:
fastboot -S 128M flash system system.img
And got stuck with this message:
Code:

At this point flashing stuck.
I don't know what to do with it because flashing boot/userdata works great, erasing partitions doesn't help and another threads on this subject also doesn't help me a lot.
Maybe could be helpful that
Code:
fastboot getvar all
returns nothing.
I also tried to change USB cable but it doesn't seem like this is the problem.
Thanks for any help

Flashing .ops files on macOS

I purchased a T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro from Back Market and it wants an unlock token.
Code:
0 LoganDark ~/Downloads/refind-bin-0.12.0 fastboot oem unlock
FAILED (remote: 'Please flash unlock token first.')
fastboot: error: Command failed
Instead of waiting a week for T-Mobile to send me one, I was considering following a pair of tutorials to revert the phone to international firmware. Honestly I'd prefer to be without the T-Mobile branding anyway, so I probably would have done that anyway.
But... I'm using macOS. MSM Download Tool is Windows-only. I have fastboot and adb and all the android platform commands, and the device is recognized and I can do things with it. I have the .ops file from the first tutorial, but I'm not sure how to flash it. Help?
I tried this at first but it looked like something really scary was happening so I stopped it:

Ended up just using a virtual machine to do it. 7 hours from stock to full root with TWRP, Magisk and latest EU OxygenOS. No T-Mobile bloat, no key required from them, all is good. This phone is awesome <3
