Skinomi Techskin Screen Protector for Note 4, Revised Fit (Prompt Customer Service)
Purchased a Skinomi Techskin mainly for the body and back cover of the Note 4. In the first version I received, the cut-outs are off and the plastic film were bigger than than the phone.
However, after requesting a replacement, I received the correct sized protector film now.

I actually used this screen protector for a brief period when I first bought my N4. The fit was perfect for me - as always; however, I purchased mine directly from Skinomi. I took it off because it felt a bit strange with the s-pen. For people considering a tech-skin: It is a wet application skin protector so you have to be relatively careful when installing. I was paranoid AF when I did
The Carbon Fiber Skin for the back cover had problems though. It just would not adhere on the corners because of the back cover being rounded or whatever. I tried modifying it several times but in the end I just ripped it off. The skin continues to cover the sides of my phone along with the camera, but that's about it.

I am currently using a SuperShieldz Glass SP and there is absolutely no halo on my Verizon [Black] N4.
If there is a halo, I can't see it so I'm happy S: I would post a picture but my older phones have really bad cameras and they would make the SP look invisible because of the blurryness - and although it almost is, we all know that's not the case :3

I must have received a defective or earlier version directly from Skinomi. I've dispatched an e-mail to Skinomi and I'm getting a replacement thanks to their Lifetime Warranty. Good to know that the fit was well for you. When did you purchase your Skinomi?

It was sometime around October I think?
You certainly could have received a defective version because, if i recall correctly, the Skinomi SP covered edge to edge (?)
This is how I always apply mine:
- Turn off phone and remove the battery
- Wipe the screen without the provided solution
- Spray a small amount of the solution onto the provided cleaning cloth and proceed to wiping the screen
- Apply the Screen Protector while still slightly wet, fixing the position freely until achieving the desired results
- While holding the SP in place with two fingers on opposite sides of the phone, push out any remaining bits of moisture underneath until the SP sticks without your assistance (careful at this part *-*)
- Let dry for several hours before turning on the device
so yeah, pretty much what the instructional video tells us to do XD just gotta be patient when installing d:
I will never go back to that though after experiencing how fracking easy it is to apply a glass SP *-* feels better too

The protector I received went beyond the edge by a couple of centimeters. The cut-outs were meant for the Note 4, but were way off.

I just looked at your attached photos but it appears the SP was not on your phone so I cannot judge that for myself, but I certainly believe you d:

Thanks, here's the comparison with Zagg HDX and ordinary plastic PET Screen protector overlaying the Skinomi Screen Protector (bottom-most protector as per the picture)

Must have received a defective shipment. I just put the same thing on my phone 2 days ago. Aside from some slight overlap of the side strips, it fits great. Screen protector fits excellent as well.
I had made the mistake of buying a Decalgirl wrap thinking it would cover entire phone....mistake. Only shipped 2 small front pieces for top/bottom bezels and back. Front stuff looked silly, back cover didn't cover entire back, leaving phone looking very cheap.
So far, really happy with the Techskin on my device. Only issue is I got a small piece of dust under it in lower right corner on front

I'm extremely pleased how Skinomi handled my issue. I received the replacement today and voila, correct sized-screen protector (Seems like they revised their product multiple times). I definitely recommend Skinomi, just realized their product is Made in the USA.

Note 7 edge to edge full adhesive screen protector

I have skimmed through the pages in the other tempered glass screen protector threads. I have yet to find a manufacturer who makes an edge to edge protector that adheres to the entire screen rather than just the top and bottom.
My issue is that with a water proof device, anytime it is exposed to water (every day for me as I place it on the shelf in the shower to listen to music), water becomes trapped underneath the tempered glass.
Anyone picked up a model that would remedy this?

I went nude screen on the explosive n7 because i knew i was going to exchange it and i only managed to get one scratch and it was on the edge. I think i know how it happened.

It feels like **** though. I had an IQ Liquid Shield on my old Note 7, and it felt nice in the hand. Barely a bump in feeling, some around the edges but not really noticeable. This current new Note 7 has factory screen protectors, both front and back. But they feel sharp and edgy, they don't cover the curves. I have actual sleeping nightmares about applying a brand new IQ Liquid Shield protector I already have, and it peeling horribly at corners. fEa.r me..?

Other threads didn't find this so called gem of yours, then mention it there, that's the whole point of the original tempered glass thread. To discuss solutions. Not make a new thread for the EXACT same thing. It's just annoying to have multiple threads for literally the exact same topic. Surely you get that.

i tried dozens of them looks just like that, most of them only have adhesive on the sides or the top+bottom. all returned.
i suspect this one will be the same, but its not available to purchase on Amazon yet. Guest i will try this too.
i will report see how it goes. but i have no hope at all.
case friendly and curved too on the design like that..?? dont know thats legit or not.

you must get this specific version for the full cover. there's a lot of different variations. also let the film completely dry before you even attempt to wrap down the sides. you can use your palms, squeegee, and blow dryer. Remember the water spray is only for help with placement. When this film dries, its very stick and adhesive.
i just hate TPU material, its spongy, soft, leaves imprints and a weird texture. but it does full cover. tempered glass and PET film will never do that.

the sides of the case overlap the screen protector with zero lifting. it would obviously work the same way for any case, even those that cover the top and bottom

I have the same protector updated version on my note 7. Did the shrink wrap trick too when i applied it. Came out nice after 12hrs. Once I put my UAG case it started to lift edges. I had to use a credit card to slide case phone in without lifting edges. So I thought I was all good right. Nope a day later it started to lift on the top side and bottom side. I have to smooth it back to down continuously. So either you got lucky or you case does not life the edges.

maybe it was the way you put it on? as in one side you will comfortable be able to tuck it under but the other side kinda snapped on and slid/lifted the cover in order for the case to snap on?

Not sure if you found it yet, but here is the screen protector he was mentioning. Got good reviews (from a handful of people so far) but is pretty pricey at $35 U.S.

Just installed this. I think i know why most companies only use glue on the top or bottom. The quality of the product is good. The packaging is great but i would rather get something a little more simple and maybe save on the cost.
I have yet to turn on my replacement N7 so i cant speak on clarity but the fit is decent. It even works with my Seidio Dilex case on even though its "full screen"
Here is my one problem so far (its only been an hour since install) there is a slight clicking sound when you press on some areas. The edges etc. This is the reason why i think most companies dont use glue on the sides. I think this is where the clicking sound is coming from. I think i installed it as best as i could but who knows. Maybe its my fault.
Im going to try to use it for a while to see how well it works and if i can stand the clicking sound. This is my 1st glass screen protector for the N7 and i dont think ill try more in the future. I just wanted to try one out.

Using the LG V30 without a screen protector.

Anyone out there using the LG V30 without a screen protector? I've gone through two of them already. Neither has yielded a good result. The latest has the edge curving to it, but the glue is only applied at the sides and bottom. The top of the phone is open. As a result, I get tons of lint and dust between the screen protector and the screen itself. And off course, since there is no direct contact throughout the middle of the screen, touch response and sensitivity is horrific.
For this reason, I'm considering ditching the screen protector altogether, but I'm really worried about scratching this screen. Gorilla 5 has its shortcomings in this area. What's the experience of other LG V30 owners been?

Got mine in december and I applied the same kind of glass screen protector right away, with glue only on the sides. And of course, lint and touch sensitivity problems just like you... I got quickly fed up, after a couple of weeks I ditched the screen protector an got a nice case (VRS Design -https://www.amazon.com/Vrs-Design-VRSV30HPSSS-Shield-Silver/dp/B0768ZVXGS). No scratches whatsoever til this day. The phone fell once on concrete from about four feet on the corner/screen, no damage at all thanks to the case - I guess.
My 2 cents : forget about the glass protector, get a nice case with significant lip around the screen and enjoy how smooth the naked screen is.

I've had the phone since the end of December with no screen protector, and only a cheapo clear case that the retailer threw in when I bought it. I am a little rough in my devices as I work outdoors and the device is in and out of my pockets all day. It occasionally gets dropped or knocked out of the car mount. Not a blemish on it.

Tried 3 different screen protector (ringke, ****ke and and other crap), never worked. So I am using it in case or many times in NUDE form because it has some beautiful curves, this phone

Same here, tried 4 different screen protectors then gave up and went nude. Best decision ever. I've had glass screen protectors on all my phone since they first came on the market. First time going without one.
Minor scratches will happen but usability, clearity and feel is SO much better that its worth it.
The only thing that bums me out is that the camera glass scratches easily. Heard its easy to replace but its stupid that its not sapphire glass.
I dont even use a case. Only have a black slickwraps skin on the back because i dont like the silver color. (Only silver and blue were available in my country)

I bought and use the skinomi matte screen protector and it works really well... In fact I got the same protector for the Note 8 as well.

I got a scratch on the first day that I got the phone, I don't know how or where but I did... That's why I always use screen protector, lucky for me I as able to buy a full glue when they were still available if I accidentally break it I don't know what will I do with my life.

I'm kind of different from others here.
Day 1 (August I think), I skipped the glass protector because I read from others on XDA that nothing was fitting right or didnt cover the edges of the screen. I put a plastic-like traditional protector on instead. It's been ok except for lots of grease and smudge buildup. I do have some scratches on the protector, but I wonder if they even would be noticeable if I hadn't had the screen protector on. The reason why is because of the plastic/rubbery texture of the screen protector. I feel like scratches would show up MORE on this protector vs the naked Gorilla Glass.
I'm really considering taking the protector off, but a little hesitant. Lol

There is a whole thread dedicated to it, but the final conclusion is that nothing works except the whitestone dome which is nearly $50.

Yep I read that, but that's still a bit too expensive and too much work.

I think LG designed the curved edges to discourage users put a screen protector on it. LOL. I have been using it with no screen protector, but I have put it in a clear TPU that has lips. I dropped my phones a few times, sometimes face down, and luckily no scratches so far.

That is important, to have the lip protection on a case.

This my opinion if you don't care about resale value then go naked. Me I personally care about the resale value so I put a case and screen protector since I switch phones yearly sometimes less so I try to get as much money back as I can for the new phone or else I would go naked.

I care about resale value, and I definitely see the need for a case (especially with raised lips) -- but not a screen protector that makes the display less responsive. A friend and his wife just got these phones, wouldn't listen to me, PAID for screen protectors at T-Mobile. Within 3 days they ripped them off.
Just don't put the phone on your pocket with keys and coins.

Keys and coins don't scratch screens (there are dozens of Youtube videos that prove this), but a grain of sand will.
I never use screen protectors, and have never had any issues, but somewhere, somehow the v30 picked up a light scratch on the screen (but not from keys or coins).

That's because there could be particles of dust/sand/rocks in your pocket which could scratch the glass. I always baby my phones, yet I've picked up a couple of scratches.

Official OnePlus 6 Tempered Glass Protector. How does it Fare?

Now that people are starting to receive their phones and accessories from OnePlus, I am very curious to hear people's thoughts on the official tempered glass protector offered from OnePlus.
Specifically, how does it fit with the OEM cases OnePlus offers. Most importantly, does it fit with the thicker OnePlus Bumper cases?
The good news, according to OnePlus's official install video posted on their website, it does look like it fully adheres to the screen.

I don't get my phone until later today, so I can not confirm until then. But the two different customer service reps I talked to guaranteed the TGP works with the OEM bumper cases. They said the only case it isn't compatible with is the outterbox case.

Looking forward to your results! If it does fit with the OEM bumper case (specifically the Nylon bumper case for me) I'll use my $20 promo voucher to order the glass protector as well.

I will say the preapplied plasic protector surprised me.wkth how good it feels. I usually do a glass protector but once I get my I will probably leave the plasitc on to see how it wears. Be good for the long term review since most on even know it's there at first

Hope you've not forgotten me! I'm back. I went down to the London launch as I was super excited to see the OnePlus 6 in person and I've now got my hands on the phone and the official tempered glass. So as I have done every year, I'm going to be testing out as many accessories that I can get my hands on, starting with the Official Tempered Glass Screen Protector!

Some of you wonder why take of the pre-applied factory screen? Well for me, it's all about finding the best protection for your device and from experience the pre-applied screen is not that. It's a nice bonus, as if you're not buying the official you'll have to wait around a week or so before third party manufacturers get screens ready for sale. Mine was also riding slightly high on the screen, which meant using it whilst having gestures turned on was a bit of a nightmare.
As usual the screen protector, comes well packaged, with some excellent tools- most of which you won't need if you're taking the pre-applied screen off and then putting this one on straight away.
The screen protector as with the last few years comes on a single slab of plastic/glass, which you will need to be careful off when you're removing the screen protector from it. And for goodness sake once you've peeled it off, don't turn it around and let all the dust particles in your house get on it!
The screen protector fits nicely on the phone and feels pretty decent. High quality!

^ Dang! I can't believe how difficult it was for him to remove the bubbles with that protector. And in the end it still had a bubble that kept returning. This sure did make me glad I opted not to pay extra for that tempered glass protector. It's almost as if it doesn't have strong enough adhesive.
Regardless, I plan on sticking with the pre-applied screen protector for a bit before making a decision on a glass protector. In fact, if the pre-applied protector holds up well, I may not ever bother taking it off. I must say that it would be really nice to finally get a phone and never even worry about spending money on a screen protector, or trying to perfectly apply one, for that matter.
I just hope my pre-applied protector isn't positioned too high, as the above video reviewer mentioned his was.

unfortunately my preapplied screen protector is a tiny bit too high for my taste too, so when swiping up with gestures enabled you can feel the slight edge :/
I really hope whitedome is going to bring a TGSP for the OP6 on the market

So as I have done every year, I'm going to be testing out as many accessories that I can get my hands on, starting with the Official Tempered Glass Screen Protector!

Some of you wonder why take of the pre-applied factory screen? Well for me, it's all about finding the best protection for your device and from experience the pre-applied screen is not that. It's a nice bonus, as if you're not buying the official you'll have to wait around a week or so before third party manufacturers get screens ready for sale. Mine was also riding slightly high on the screen, which meant using it whilst having gestures turned on was a bit of a nightmare.
As usual the screen protector, comes well packaged, with some excellent tools- most of which you won't need if you're taking the pre-applied screen off and then putting this one on straight away.
The screen protector as with the last few years comes on a single slab of plastic/glass, which you will need to be careful off when you're removing the screen protector from it. Do you think the bit the pops up might simply be just because of the curvature of the screen towards the corner?
(curved screened phones are always a nightmare when it comes to putting screen protectors on). If the underside of the screen protector is curved aswell in order to fit the curved screen of the device, even a fraction of difference can cause these kinds of problems, whereas flat ones you can even get away with them positioned slightly off, and they will always sit down perfectly flat.
Can you confirm whether the curvature of the OnePlus 6's screen is just around the edges, or is it the whole of the front that is actually curved?
(If you see what I mean).
I could be wrong, but from what I can see on the video, it does almost look like it's the whole screen that is rounded and not just the edges (but it's hard to tell from a video, so can't know for sure)

My pre-applied protector only lasted an hour on mine. The edges don't stick enough to avoid random lint and dust from sliding just a bit underneath it. Also the swipe up gestures from the bottom of the phone feel weird as you bump the protector. I'm not sure but I think it's because the protector is a bit thick.

That’s a shame. My phone arrives today and we leave for Mexico tomorrow for a week. I was hoping the pre-applied protector would be perfect. The edges of it are probably going to look like garbage by the time we get back.

the protective film, can not attach clean and then Euro 22, so I can not recommend. Shade for the money

What?

I really like the TGP. It fits seamlessly with the nylon case where the edges go all the way to the case and it feels completely natural. I thought the black outlining would bother me, but it works really well with the phone. I highly recommend the OEM TGP. No issues with it being compatible with the bumper case.

I have read on a Dutch forum that there is only glue on the edges of the screen protector. The middle is coated with some sort of oil so you won't see any bubbles.
This would explain the YouTube video with the corner not sticking. Could somebody confirm this?

This is a problem with all "curved edge" phones. Really makes me wish Samsung did not have as much sway in the market as they do. We would still have flat screens!

The tempered glass screen protector from OnePlus has adhesive throughout the entire protector, not just around the sides. Watch an install video and you'll see.

It wasn't to bad. There were a couple of stubborn small bubbles, but it you press and hold on them for a second or two with the included tool they go right away. I have a completely bubble free TGP that took maybe 2 minutes to put on

Well crap. Now I wish I went ahead and ordered the protector with the phone. Now I've got to get through a week in Mexico with the pre-applied protector and hope it doesn't peel up until I get back.
Ordering the TGSP from OnePlus right now. Thanks for your input.

Just installed it and it looks great in my opinion! Wasn't that hard. If you apply it with the included case on, it helps a ton with lining it up; you literally just need to drop it into place.
I did get a couple pieces of dust underneath but they are super small and hardly noticeable, so I don't want to risk lifting the protector to remove it (risking more dust to get under) (or risking losing adhesion).
It does have a bit of that "3D look" but I got used to it very quick and now I don't notice it.
If there is text way at the edge of the screen, it does slightly get cut off but luckily most apps/websites don't have text that close to the edge.
Overall it's a solid protector and I'm probably going to stick with it until the end of its life (unless it cracks or something of course lol).

Accessories Outer Screen Protector

Throwing this out there for anyone else facing backorders, pre-orders, and a general lack of compatible protectors:
The tempered glass protectors for the Note 20 Ultra camera are a near perfect fit to the screen when using a case.
Having tried a proprietary film protector that got peeled off and not being able to get a new one for two weeks, I was looking around for something to use as a temporary solution. I happened to try one of the leftover glass protectors and realized it fit perfectly with a Spigen Tough Armor case. I immediately tracked down a pack without holes for the flash, ignored all the complaints about photo quality and have a set coming in two days for only $10.
That said, I also placed an order for the Spigen proprietary glass cover that should arrive in as little as 30 business days... quick...

I think I will order the spigen cover now. I read on their website the protective cover covers the camera lenses fully instead of a cut out for the lenses. Do you think this will negatively impact photo quality? Thanks!

I thought the lenses were still exposed. I guess they are claiming it covers them, though. It was really the only "quality" one I could find, so I took a chance knowing it worked with the case. It could be hit or miss. The Note 20 Ultra ones covered the lenses on that and the pictures were flawless.

It comes with the hinge protector too so thats cool.

Just got notification mine shipped. Now if I just had my gray z flip 3. Couple more weeks.

I made these myself after the phone slipped out of my hand the first day and also stopped it from sliding on my center console in my truck.

What about a screen protector?

Twisted did you get the cover protector? My phone will come in today and I have a spigen case ready to go. I saw Amazon reviews online and a reviewer said must be used with spigen case and he showed a picture of spigen cover protector + sammy case, looked bad. I guess I'll be stuck with a spigen case

It came. It does seem to be fit to their case, but I like it. Couldn't manage a perfect install because the lens part is super sticky, but even a couple small dust specs don't seem to mess with the camera. Ended up ordering a second pack from Amazon in case the dust ever gets to me.

I used an old one. There's was nice, but hard to install because the center doesn't hold too well. I made two attempts but it kept slipping when I went to smooth it out and it's impossible to redo.

Pretty sure my mistake was doing the case first, but that's because I already had the case on when the protector arrived. The lens part almost clicks onto the lenses and lining the protector up can be done by popping the cover screen on. It should be a perfect match to the visible area.
