Have a note 20 ultra 5g that keeps telling me no sim card, no cellular network available. Have replaced sim card readers 2x in both motherboards, still the same. Have also tried another motherboard known good and get the same thing. But whats weird is on the motherboard that was Verizon unlocked it will tell me the phone number on the sim card. The known good motherboard that is unlocked factory. It will say the same thing. The verizon one will say sim card provider changed restart to new carrier and will reboot to T-mobile. I have replaced almost everything on the middle case as in connectors and such. Both motherboards will tell me phone number on sim card and have also tried a few different sim cards. All the same problem. Someone told me that the middle frame is the problem, but I don't believe that. Have also the verizon motherboard installed and sent this phone to Samsung and all they said was new motherboard needed, At a cost of almost $700.00. Still sim card problem and I have run out of ideas.

Hi !
My Htc one S sometimes show the advice that indicate that there is no SIM inserted, even if the sim is there and even if the phone is already power on, it shows the message after some times it's on. Any suggest?
Have you tried a different SIM card? Could be something wrong with the card. Also make sure all the contacts on the SIM and phone are clean.
If it still doesn't work then looks like you'll have to go back to HTC.
My SIM didnt work in my S when I got it.
After some googling it seemed quite common on the X.
The general answer was "get a new SIM". I got a new SIM and it solved my problem at least.
If a new SIM doesnt work, it might be a hardware issue with your device and you should probably return it.
actually I just have one micro SIM and I cannot try a switch. Also in order to try I would need to take the other sim for long time because this happen with a low frequency..
Get it exchanged from your carrier. Shouldnt cost much, if anything at all (Telia here in sweden didnt charge anything at least).
Hi guys
my brother bought a brand new galaxy note 10.1 couple a days ago and it worked fine, the day before yesterday he accidently insert a micro sim in the slot..it took his wife quite a while and a hairpin to remove it successfully and then he inserted a normal sim and it worked fine. but yesterday he removed it without turning the device off (tried different one to copy the contacts) and now the device cant read the sim...i tried to factory reset it, code reset and tried new sim but didnt work
can someone please help me
Well some connector must have damaged since its a new note take it to a service center tell them it is not working since day one it will be declared DOA and would be replaced
im done like waht your wife done and i destroy all pin when removing micro sim when i went to service center thay tell me we cant fix it and i go to another small shop i told him this problem and he fix my note ne and working well now he change sim house with him self in 2 hours
first of all thank you all for your quick reply
secondly...i dont think it is a hardware problem since the sim was working perfectly till he removed it accidentally
there is however another point i noticed minutes ago, although there is no sim card the tablet show signal bars beside the "emergency calls only"
thought i mentioned it
Well there is a hardware failiure with the sim module may if you have seen how the sim connect to the connectors in a cell phone u will know that the connectors come out a little while removing the micro sim you must have done some damage what it is we do not either the two connectors have inter connected none the less there is some failiure

but the sim worked after the removal of the micro sim for two whole days (calls and data)....it wasnt till the accidental removal that this happened
It appears the problem is that you are not getting the answer you want, however it is the answer.
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda app-developers app
Only three choices .
One try a new sim
Two factory reset .
Three a service centre .
As number three may be damage not warranty i would try one and two first .
jje
Have you tried another sim card?
If it didn't work your solution is as already told a service center.
Am having the same problem and i didnt hamper the hardware.
it happened after i updated
So I received my RMA replacement last night. I swapped the SIM card over to the new phone and it still shows 'No Service' and 'Emergency Calls Only'. I put the SIM back in the old phone and it works. I also just chatted with AT&T and they said I might need a new SIM card.
Do you guys know of another work around or will I definitely need a new SIM card?

Try inserting a friends simcard to see if that one works, if it does your card needs to be replaced.
Unfortunately the only other person near me has an iphone 5 and his sim card is alot smaller than mine. I guess ill have to wait till i get to an AT&T store.
Alright, so a little back story on the problem i'm having:
I've got a Mofi4500 SIM4 wireless modem with service from an MVNO using T-Mobile's network.
The service worked great for the last several months despite a video throttling issue. Long story short, i determined the Phone number associated with the SIM was being throttled either the MVNO or T-Mobile, so they're shipping me out a new SIM card.
Here's the issue: They disabled the current SIM (which is providing us service) when they programmed the new SIM before they shipped it out. In the MOFI's control panel, there is no phone number detected on the sim (did they delete the phone number remotely?)
So we're currently dead in the water with no internet access, and my wife isn't too happy since she works from home. I called their tech support to get the SIM reactivated, and they said no problem, should be done within an hour.
2 hours pass, still not working! I jump back in the MOFI's control panel to see whats going on, and it seems that its still not detecting a phone number on the SIM. The Sim card, SIM ID, and T-Mobiles APN are all detected and correct, but the Phone number is not. even now (the next morning) after several reboots of the modem and factory resets there is no phone number detected.
We USED to run the MOFI on AT&T's network and still have that sim card, so i popped that in the MOFI to see if it could detect a phone number on that sim, and sure enough all that information along with AT&T's APN is there. so the Mofi's sim card reader isn't broken, it does have the ability to read a sim card correctly.
My question here, how did the MVNO supposedly "reactivate" the sim card remotely when the sim card has the Phone number deleted and the router has no access to the web? is it even possible to change a SIM's phone number remotely? Is it possible to reactivate a SIM remotely when the SIM has no access to the internet?
If it is indeed possible, any idea on why the sim not able to update?
HI,
I bought my son A53 in best buy in the United States
my phone version is SM-A536U1/DS I was told the phone is unlocked
I am in Israel now and everything was fine for 5 months and I had no problems
but in the last week the phone cant find my SIM card and I get a message saying
Insert SIM Card and my phone cant find the SIM
What Can I do to fix this Problem?
well either there is hardware fault or maybe the sim cannot be read.
i suggest try cleaning the sim first with a soft sponge or q-tip. If the problem persists try blowing compressed air in the sim slot. If that doesnt work either try your sim in some other working phone. If it works then your phone is faulty.
