I am longer trying to get LOS to my Nokia 6.1 and this procedure is the one I got most success so far.
I installed LOS on different mobiles and tablets before but this Nokia 6.1 PL2 TA-1043 seems to be different and difficult.
The Device is unlocked and adb and fastboot are working:
Code:
fastboot oem device-info
(bootloader) Verity mode: true
(bootloader) Device unlocked: true <<-----
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: true
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: true
OKAY [ 0.001s]
Finished. Total time: 0.001s
I did a stockrom installation from https://nokia-sdm660.github.io/ and bootet both slots until the installation/configuration process started.
Then I started with above procedure.
Poweroff, booted Bootloader
add 1: additional: swipe to allow modifications
Followed till 10
11: I assumed copy from download directory to where adb finds it
12 worked fine
13: change slot -> OK
From there I cannot boot TWRP anylonger. Flasshing MindTheGapps at Point 12 results in unbootable Phone,
it gets into reboot loop.
Questions:
1. Is the slot change needed to install MindTheGapps?
2. If yes (I assume it is needed), any idea what I am doing wrong?
I am running on Linux, doing UNIX'ish OS since 1995 and I am very unused to Windows.
Info:
I accidently bootet TWRP-3.6 once and there no sideload started at all.

Hi,
Do not install TWRP.
Note: TWRP is NOT installed. We directly boot the TWRP image FILE each time TWRP is needed with the following commands:
From ADB in windows:
1. fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-0-PL2_sprout-11.0-20200909.img (ERRORS OUT - this is OK)
2. fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-0-PL2_sprout-11.0-20200909.img
Instructions revised for clarity based on your feedback - Thanks.
I spend hours trying to get LineageOS on my TA-1050. With these steps, I can do it quickly every time.
Dont give up, you will get there!

I did not install TWRP but now I was able to install LOS 18.1!
I missed the
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp
before the
Code:
fastboot boot twrp
in 13.b.The ones before switching slot worked without.
Anyway, now the setup is running.
Thanks to all for the procedure, LinegaeOS, TWPR...

If I'm already on a Magisk-rooted TA-1004 (March 1 Security patch), Build 00WW_4_84A_SP01,
do I need to just go through steps 3-5?
(p.s. it won't erase any data on the phone, right?)
1st update to the latest v4.88B . Then follow 1-5

Don't flash it - expected wifi will not work. Rather use it to boot your device from fastboot, then use MagiskManager to patch your own boot partition. Previously SP updated worked well ( SP1 --> SP2 ) . But not sure about future update. Though - we will find-out a way together
Thank you so much.
I have an unlocked bootloader and a root via Magisk. How to prepare the device for updating OTA?
Nice. It work perpectly

My device is not detected in CMD for adb devices. I remembered I have installed the driver. Does updating the firmware to latest June Security patch make it undetected? Is there anyone having the latest driver? My phone can't go into bootloader if it can't detect in CMD.

OK i have found a way.
If anyone has problem when root 4.88B June Security Patch, or doesn't have Direct Install option, this is what I have done to get rooted:
1. Enable "USB Debugging"
2. Download MagiskManager and Magisk zip, copy to phone but DO NOT install
3. Download patched boot image by @bidhata, copy to adb folder
4. Open CMD from adb folder and run "adb reboot bootloader"
5. Run "fastboot boot NB1_4.88B_Rooted_Magisk.img"
6. Let it boot, you will see wifi is broken (it's ok) and then install MagiskManager --> Add Magisk zip to Module --> Reboot when installation finishes.
After reboot the phone still has root and wifi working normally. Good luck!

If you factory reset through twrp and reboot recovery it should be OK. But keep in mind to do a backup of your stuff first.
Hello,
TWRP is released under GPLv3+. It means that if you submit a build of TWRP, you need to distribute its source code and instructions to build it.
Where did you find this build if you "found it somewhere and wanted to share it"? You are basically violating the license by just "sharing" it.
Read the pinned post for more information (applies to GPLv2 like GPLv3).

Thanks for the information, I lost connection with terminal after booting into TWRP, and didn't know what to do next as TWRP was o MB .
And terminal showed "FInished" with no error in your second command, but twrp was still not installed after holding down power + volumn down. :/
Is there anything i did wrong? Please reply Mr.Sakura
How to check if anti rollback is enabled?
Fastboot getvar anti
It just says anti: and no number. What does this means?
Mine shows the same so I think there is no anti rollback on our 2 devices.
mine also says "anti"..no number
Please be careful while flashing recovery that are found "somewhere".
Well, after flashing latest miuipro still anti with no count
Please delete this thread! False information!
any solution it is show 0mb internal
Do a factory reset in twrp or flash disable encryption.zip

WARNING #1: Unlocking BL and flashing a custom recovery voids your warranty. Please make sure to contact your carrier/seller if your phone is still under warranty after unlocking the bootloader.
WARNING #2: Make sure you have enabled OEM unlock and unlocked bootloader before trying to flash this. How you can successful root and install TWRP will be described below.
WHAT IS TWRP?
Oh come on, you know what it is - don't try to fool me!
In case you're serious, though...
Team Win Recovery Project is a custom recovery for Android devices.
It allows you to back up and restore your data, flash custom ROMs to your device, repair broken file systems, and root your device.
HOW-TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
1. Get bootloader Unlock code here
2. Install minimal adb and fastboot
3. Plug in your phone and make sure all huawei drivers got installed
4. Enable developer options in settings as described above.
5. Enable OEM unlock, enable USB debugging (both in developer options)
6. Open the adb tool you installed recently
7. Type fastboot devices (now a device number should show up)
8. Type fastboot reboot-bootloader (your phone will now boot into bootloader, if not, you haven't set up drivers or adb/fastboot correctly)
9. This step will wipe all your data! Type:
Code:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
(xx is for your unlock code)
10. Ones it's done type:
Code:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Your phone will reboot and you have an unlocked bootloader!
11. You can now go on installing TWRP on your device
HOW-TO INSTALL
Make sure you enabled OEM unlock in settings, if you haven't please do that now by tipping 10 times on build number (to activate developer options), than open developer options and go to OEM unlock, enable it
Have an unlocked bootloader is required! (In my case, I login the unlocker website at provide necessary information and get the unlock code so try yourself !!!)
Download the TWRP recovery from the download section below
Make sure you got fastboot drivers installed (I will describe this below in how to unlock your bootloader)
Open the adb/fastboot application on your pc and go to the directory where your TWRP img file is downloaded
Boot your phone into download mode (First method: fastboot reboot-bootloader while connected to pc. Second method: power off your phone, hit power on and volume down until it boots to download mode)
Check again if there is written: unlocked phone!
If yes type now into your adb/fastboot terminal:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-CRO_U00.img
Click to collapse
Type:
Code:
Code:
fastboot reboot
Now boot into recovery by pressing: power+volume up+volume down at the same time
Enjoy twrp
HOW-TO ROOT
Backup, just in case
Have an unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed from above (take one from december)
We will use this root method: Phh's superuser
Download latest official phh superuser zip here.
Put the zip on your external sd card of your phone (since we can't access /data in twrp)
Boot into twrp and flash the downloaded file
Install latest Material phh apk: Release post
Now you are rooted, congrats!

TWRP doesn't install/boot on Redmi 6 Cereus

Hello everyone...
Problem in brief:
unlocked bootloader;
anti-rollback safeguard "theoretically" disabled;
three ROMs to try;
TWRP that does not want to install/start;
installed orangefox which worked, but after the first time it didn't start:
TWRP installed once but (flashed a ROM), openGapps was corrupt and the phone did not exit the fastboot ... other attempts all unsuccessful.
Extended problem:
I have been trying to install a custom ROM on my old Redmi 6 for a week now (I would like to be able to try at least one between Havoc, Corvus and Resurrection Remix, I already have the ROMs theoretically compatible with the model in question).
After three days (and creating a virtual machine with Windows 10 on my Arch-based distro), I am able to unlock the bootloader (with no waiting time, account created for three days but device in possession for more than two years). Yesterday I managed to put OrangeFox, but I did not have a microSD at hand and I had to restart the cell normally... then I put my hand to a micro SD that I had somewhere, the Redmi does not start in recovery I need to pay for it TWRP, but in the boot partition instead of recovery, due to my distraction error while using the "Xiaomi ADB Fastboot Tool" program, but I managed to flash the official MIUI 11 ROM to repair the damage (note: in all I flashed twice so far) through the semi-official tool, or the linux port of the official one, which should allow the installation of TWRP and ROM of your choice (but it is practically abandoned, so the TWRP option does not work and without does put other ROMs that are not the official model). I tried again several attempts, all preceded by the disabling of the ARS, today, to reinstall TWRP and OrangeFox both through the Xiaomi ADB Fastboot tool and via the terminal... but I am no longer successful...
Terminal output:
❯ sudo fastboot devices
[sudo] password di omar:
d672d8b67d29 fastboot
❯ sudo fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Sending 'recovery' (24908 KB) OKAY [ 1.053s]
Writing 'recovery' OKAY [ 0.333s]
Finished. Total time: 1.388s
❯ sudo adb reboot recovery
error: no devices/emulators found
When operating phone in Fastboot mode as 1st re-boot phone to Android OS, so that ADB can access it
Code:
fastboot reboot
and then as 2nd invoke recovery via
Code:
adb reboot recovery
I followed the advice, but stock recovery starts and not TWRP...
Then TWRP isn't got installed properly.
I tried again from the terminal (after the previous attempt from GUI) with Xiaomi ADB Fastboot ... nothing, always the recovery stock
Is there a way to flash the ROM from a pc?
Stock ROM always can get flashed from PC via ADB Sideload method
I meant without having to go through TWRP
On windows it remains stationary like this (it has been for at least 10 minutes)...

Apparently some Xiaomi ROMs immediately overwrite the custom recovery... here (site in Italian), in fact, among the comments I read that to get around this problem you must have the ROM ready to install... I'd be ready, if only I could flash TWRP or OrangeFox at least once...
If so, would it be useful to try flashing the "original" ROM? Due to the wrong attempt, I used MiFlash to flash the stock ROM ... which was updated to the latest release (11.0.5 instead of 10.3.4)
I managed to flash OrangeFox ... only problem is that now it has given me back the problem of the lack of an OS. I try to flash Havoc OS (unofficial build for Redmi) ... but I ran into a number of errors. First of all, it gives that /system and / cache are not mounted. Then the terminal gives these results:
Code:
E:TWFundc ::Unpack_Image failed.
E:Deactivation process: Unable to unpack boot image
and
Code:
Errore montaggio '/data' (Invalid argument)
Errore montaggio '/cache' (Invalid argument)
Edit: the errors below I managed to solve by simply formatting...
Flashed again MIUI 11 (the official ROM), the custom recovery is removed, and trying to install one again, the ROM "breaks" giving recovery when you try a restart "Warning, no OS present on the device"... then, not only it is impossible for me to flash other ROMs, but also to root only...
i have same issue with Cactus...
