[GUIDE] How to root zenfone 3 (ZE552KL / ZE520KL)

Firstly, you should use the following official unlock tool to unlock Boot-loader.

After you unlock your device, you can download the TWRP recovery image, and follow the guide to root your device.

If your device is ZE552KL, then you should download twrp-3.0.2-Z012D.img + dot.supersu

If you want to build recovery image by yourself, you can clone the git source tree, and compile by yourself.

How to root your device:
1. Boot your zenfone 3 to boot-loader mode (you should firstly turn the phone off, then press and hold the volume up and power buttons )
2. Install android tools on your pc. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979)
3. Connect your mobile to PC, then use following command to flash TWRP image to your zenfone.

4a. Hold the volume down button, and use following command to boot into recovery mode. (if menu appears, please select recovery mode)

4b. Boot your zenfone 3 to recovery mode (you should firstly turn the phone off, then press and hold the volume down and power buttons )
5. After boot into TWRP recovery, select "keep system read only" in TWRP recovery menu.
6. Use following command to push .supersu file into /data .

7. Select "ADB Sideload" in TWRP menu, then use following command to push root files.

This is work.. now i have rooted phone and installed xposed

after rooted? we can get OTA? or no? if not how to get the OTA?

i cant get OTA UPDATES after unlock the bootloader LOL

They do warn you specifically that pushed updates will no longer happen.
I think the solution is to find the updates from ASUS and use an app like FlashFire

There is a request for a Rom on the cyanogen forums.
Xposed worked like a charm.
It also appears that the kernel source is available although I'm not sure from where.
Still not sure where to find the ASUS updates

I am neither a programmer nor an editor. I'm just an enthusiast. I don't have any information. I just analyze and modify it. It actually belonged to TWRP Lemfo lem12 pro. I analyzed it and adapted it for Zeblaze Thor 6. Then I analyzed the UI. I tried to save the user interface from its boring appearance and turn it into a beautiful and useful interface. This job took 2 months. I have not yet received a positive response feedback. Maybe nobody liked this new UI.
I don't have Kospet prime 2 to do an adequate analysis. All I can do is replace its core. They have similar hardware. So there is a chance it will work. Now it's up to you to try it. Please give feedback if it works or not.

I deleted crb_v3b10. Even if you reinstall crb_v3b10, it still won't work. Even if you reinstall crb_v3b10, it still won't work. The problem is not the versions. The problem is that you did the installation incorrectly. Delete all versions. Download the latest version. Run crb.exe. Select the Unregister distro option. Select the Import distro option. Select the test distro option. Close the window. Crb will open automatically. Tried on the latest version for windows 10. I don't know if it works on older windows 10 versions. It also works on Windows 11.

ill try that but all the options are blacked out and the only one i can select is enable wsl before it will let me choice anything else which would be import distro after a reboot of windows

@AYALTUN How did you unlock bootloader? When I type fastboot flashing unlock I have info on my watch screen about pressing vol button but non of them works. I have Thor 5 smartwatch and only power and back buttons. When I press them nothing happens. Pls help me i am confused.

I'm sorry. If you get a warning saying press the volume button, there is nothing you can do. You will not be able to unlock bootloader.

I spend hours trying to get LineageOS on my TA-1050. With these steps, I can do it quickly every time.

I did not install TWRP but now I was able to install LOS 18.1!

If I didn't enjoy wrecking tech toys, I'd quit. Twice now I had to rescue the tablet because after flashing patched boot_a and b it loops even wipe a wipe.
It just finished restoring and it relockes the bootloader in the process.
Lenovo rescue tool works great
I think I will take a day off from this uninspiring tablet

I will admit I got a little confused with the process and forgot to flash the meta.

Thanks again. I am unlocked and rooted finally. I used the Linux on a stick and Windows. It was very easy thanks to you and the other developers work.
I left the bootloader warning on the tablet lol

Man, you are a life saver! Spent hours looking for a write up on this tablet. I actually ended up stuck in a bootloop after flashing vbmeta and then writing fastboot reboot according to the image above. (Im sort of a noob when it comes to this stuff.) After a while of tinkering was able to fix it simply by holding the vol + and vol - and plugging in usb from PC. Got it to load into fastboot and was able to wipe. But for real much appreciate the time and effort put into this write up especially for a niche tablet like this one. + Respect

Question Unable to install TWRP after rooting Redmi Note 11 Pro 5Gv(veux)

I have used the information on here to successfully root my phone (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G - veux) via magisk but I would like to put TWRP on it however whenever I try to boot the recovery image it does not work. I did my flashing with the official mi flash tool to root with magisk but this screenshot from a different author seems to show the information you may need to help me nicely.
Here is the output from powershell when I try to boot the unofficial version I found named "360 pissarro RN 11 Pro+ pjgowtham" which says its for veux but I'm not getting much success.
I have flashed successfully and the drivers seem to be ok and list the device in "fastboot devices" and it is in USB developer mode but other than that I can't figure out why it wont't boot the recovery img so I can install TWRP
I will be eternally grateful if someone can tell me what I am doing wrong or what the actual correct file is

Still the same error:

EDIT: It did actually work I was missing out the flash command, thank you!

Didn't actually work now it's just stuck on the FASTBOOT screen
Heres what I got:
C:\Users\Steve\Desktop\platform-tools>fastboot flash boot recovery.img
Sending 'boot_a' (38418 KB) OKAY [ 1.031s]
Writing 'boot_a' OKAY [ 0.147s]
Finished. Total time: 1.454s
Am I using the wrong set of adb files to flash it with? Im using the platform tools from the android sdk

Tried flashing both boot_a and boot_b but still just ended up stuck on the fastboot screen

Had the same problems first, use command Prompt instead of powershell and make sure drivers are updated.
If you need twrp to install a new Rom follow these steps.
First type: fastboot getvar unlocked to check if it's unlocked.
Second Step is to download 2 Firmwares ( one updated and one slightly older ) from here
Flash up to date Firmware ( Slightly older is downloaded incase there are issues ) and boot to system, enable adb in developer options then use magisk to root phone, flash patched boot img with: fastboot flash boot patchboot.img
Edit: To flash a firmware follow this link and look at 2nd post if software isn't opening ( copy adb files to folder before using flash_all.bat )
After your phone is rooted and you made sure it was functional flash twrp: fastboot flash boot twrp12.img
Go to recovery mode, if the phone doesn't respond with touch display insert a usb c hub and add a mouse.
Download Encryption Disabler from Here and go to adb sideload and install it with adb sideload, next step is to install a Rom.
Mount Everything and wipe data then install Rom with ADB Sideload. ( ArrowOS is good ). Flash ROM then Gapps.

Which is the most suitable twrp image to use? I cant find one for veux or one named twrp12.img
