Samsung Dex with windows 11 issue - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

Hello,
Has anyone had issues with Samsung Dex running in Windows 11?
I can connect it up, it starts Dex but then the System UI crashes it says(I can still access things partially). It allows me to get into settings and a few apps that pop up on the home screen when Dex loads up. It won't allow me to access any apps from the button grid.
I have used Samsung Dex and this exact phone phone on another computer using Windows 10 Andi having no issues.

Dex mode on tablet screen

Hey, from what I gather DEX mode gives you a desktop style experience with the note 9 on an external screen. But does anyone know if it's possible to use it on the screen of a tablet running Windows 10? Not run in windows, but just essentially make use of its screen? Although I'm sure I saw a video of a guy plugging the phone into a laptop and using its screen. The tablet is a lovely 12 incher with a great screen and a built in stand, I just think it would be cool to use it's screen while playing games through the phone with a Bluetooth controller. The tablet has a full size usb port and a mini HDMI which I don't know if it would be an input as well or just output.
Any ideas?
No you can use teamviewer as a remote though
nopez. there is no way a normal Tablet or even Laptop lends just the screen to an external source.
Unless a niche product i am unaware, No video input (HDMI or whatever) input to be found. Just Output.
So a software solution is needed to replicate the phone on the Tablet screen. And that will not make the phone desktop to switch to Dex mode.
Samsung Sidesync program is what you need to run in your Windows 10 Tablet. Hopefully a future iteration of Samsung soft will allow for kind of "dex mode" desktop, as it would allow a better use of screen realstate in the Win10 device landscape format screen

DeX not working

Has anyone experienced problems connecting the phone and running Dex on a PC.
I installed DeX app on my PC from Samsung website, installed drivers, but cannot make it work. When I connect the phone via USB cable nothing happens with DeX. The PC sees the phone, I can transfer files etc even run Your Phone app on Windows.
Could it be because of USB cable? The included cable is USB-c at both ends, so I am using my old cable from Note 9.
Could you make it work?

Hello, I am having the same issue with Windows 10. Did you have any luck on making Dex work on the PC. I can see that it starts but then the dex windows doesn't open. I can see it in the taskbar but when I click on it (the dex window in the taskbar) nothing happens. Samsung Dex website is no help.
Thank you!
I know this happened a while ago. I had to reinstall windows and all the apps for another unrelated problem. After I did that, once I installed DeX it started working. I do not know what prevented it from working before.
FWIW, I was having this same problem and, unrelatedly, decided I needed to do a full wipe and reinstall of all my apps (a full day's work). As soon as I did that, Dex popped up as soon as I plugged in. So my guess is that some customization, over the course of owning your Note, killed Dex.

Question DEX ON WIN7

Good morning guys.
I don't know if you know, but samsung has decided that those who want to use DEX on windows for our S22 ultra must have windows 10.
Theoretically, the inability to boot DEX on win7 should only be with wifi connection, but to me it won't boot even via usb cable.
Is this how it's supposed to be, or does it work for anyone?

Not rooted man.
I tried turning usb debugging on-off but not helped.
Rooting will cause issue with banking and trading apps.
Do you have any suggestions?
I have zero experience with Mac, but I had a similar issue with on my windows 10 machine and I needed to install the Samsung driver's. Maybe try that?

Turn off Link to Windows. I'm not very familiar with MacOS. Does MacOS allow you to connect wirelessly? If so, try that method.
Based on your description, it isn't a problem with the phone or your Mac, it is a problem with the Samsung DeX App for MacOS.
let me check both options and get back
@vishvaraja I am Facing the same issue, did you get to fix it?

Question Can we cast S7 FE screen on laptop

Can we cast S7 screen on laptop and work on laptop.
Second screen on tab , screen laptop screen on tab.. i want to do the other way.. Can we do it..?
I haven't personally tried this, but it should work.
How to Cast Your Windows or Android Display to a Windows 10 PC
Windows 10’s Anniversary Update brings an interesting new feature: Any PC can now function as a wireless receiver for Miracast, allowing you to view the display from another Windows PC, an Android smartphone or tablet, or a Windows phone.
www.howtogeek.com
You can go to win10 settings>apps>optional features>add a feature> search for wireless display and install it.
Then go to windows search search for Connect open the app named Connect and on ur tablet go down from the notification panel and find the Smart View button then click on ur computer name it should connect.
I got it to work on my Tab S7 connecting to both my Dell desktop and Samsung laptop using both Smart Mirror and DeX. The control is kinda clunky though. Lots of lag. I'm not sure of the practicality.
I'm running Windows 11 on both.
