Update rooted Pixel 4a - Google Pixel 4a Questions & Answers

Hello, I have Pixel 4a (android 12, december patch) rooted with latest Magisk (24.1).
I would like to know how to update to feb patch and future ones.
I have seen this way (full OTA sideload):
Full OTA Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices | Google Play services | Google for Developers
developers.google.com
So can I perform this method having root? After doing this, will I lost Magisk or will I have any other problems?
Thanks

Here is my guide on the Pixel 4a (5G); you can follow any of the update methods described.
[GUIDE] Pixel 4a (5G) "bramble": Unlock Bootloader, Update, Root, Pass SafetyNet
If you are looking for my guide on a different Pixel, find it here: Pixel 3 Pixel 3XL Pixel 3a Pixel 3aXL Pixel 4 Pixel 4XL Pixel 4a Pixel 5 Pixel 5a Pixel 6 Pixel 6 Pro For best results, use the latest stable Magisk release. Discussion thread...

Updating will not remove the Magisk app; however, it will overwrite your boot image with the new unpatched boot image, so you will lose root. Patch the new boot image in Magisk and keep it handy.

Verizon Pixel XL stuck on 7.1.2 - I think?

Been reading all of the relevant threads.
Installed the latest Android Studio / SDK tools.
Verizon Pixel XL, Android 7.1.2, Build NHG47N, June 5 2017 Security Patch.
Bootloader is locked.
Every time I attempt to do an OTA update over WiFi (To Oreo 8.0), it downloads successfully, and then fails.
A locked Bootloader on a Verizon Pixel XL is a showstopper for flashing ANY version of Android from a computer - Correct?
If a Pixel XL won't install an OTA update after downloading, there's nothing that can be done to correct it - Correct?
I am... in a dead end? Correct?

Side loading ota and beta/preview builds should still work/I think/ but you should probably just request an RMA cuz Google seems to like to throw money at replacing these phones when they can and I'm pretty sure OTA failure is something they cover

new to the pixel 3a phone need so help or info on flashing

i have a pixel 3a unlocked bootloader and running android 10 {hate it} trying to roll back with no luck also i have no recovery installed maybe its me phone is fine i want to install twrp but the biggest thing is i want to roll back to android 9 because of cell service problems this is harder then my pixel 2xl and 2 also are there any roms for this i only see two thanks
Wrong forum
Pixel 3a does not support twrp on android 10 yet afaik, https://twrp.me/site/update/2019/10/23/twrp-and-android-10.html
If you want to revert back to Android 9, download a Factory Image for your device from here https://developers.google.com/android/images, extract, boot phone in to bootloader and run the flash-all.bat. Make sure to back everything up first as this will wipe your device.

How to flash every partition and do a full image installation?

Hello, Recently I discovered that my Pixel 3 XL couldn't use widevine L1. And I did some research and they said it's probably the persist.img. (Thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-3-xl/how-to/widevine-l1-t4183011 ).
And today comparing my pixel 3 XL with my pixel 3 a I found out that my Pixel 3 XL doesn't have secure boot enabled and doesn't have NOS- production (idk what they mean but looks pretty important).
What I'm asking is if anyone could tell me how to correctly flash my device to get those back (and hopefully get widevine L1?). So far I've used Google website flash tool, if I'll have to use adb can someone tell how to do it exactly?
Ty.

Kdrag0n's CtaProfile fix on Android 12?

Just rooted my Pixel 4a w/ Magisk, on Android 12 DP3. The CtsProfile check is failing, even w/ Magisk hide enabled. I found this fix (https://github.com/kdrag0n/safetynet-fix), but I'm not sure if it'll work on Android 12.

Help with rooting/Nethunter on Pixel 3a

Hello, I've been searching and lurking.. I've unlocked the bootloader on my Pixel 3a. I've rooted before, restored before, nandroids etc etc. So I've been in the game for a little while. (all the way back to my LG Ally!) Anyways. I was wondering what would be the best method of Rooting and installing TWRP on the Pixel 3a at this point in time, and if TWRP is even possible at this point. (September 2022) Should I use Magisk? NetHunter seems to rely on the device having TWRP in order to flash the kernel. (but we don't NEED it to flash the kernel do we?) I keep coming across old posts which do not apply to the build of my phone and I'm feeling very lost. This phone is not my daily driver, and I am confident when it comes to restoring a soft-brick. It's a Google Fi pixel, bought from the google store, maybe that helps.
Android 11, RQ2A.210405.005 (info from recovery)
BL Version : b4s4-0.3-7062600 (fastboot)
Baseband Ver: g670-00105-210113-B-7078968 (fastboot)
Secure Boot - Yes (fastboot)
HW Ver - MP1.0 (fastboot)
EDIT: Rooted phone successfully using Magisk/patched boot.img.
NEW ISSUE! : The phone is showing up as a Pixel 5 now. In rootchecker, my first successful root shows Pixel 3a as the device. This has never happened to me before. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
