Hi, I received a replacement phone from my phone carrier and I'm unable to receive OTA updates and I can't update it using the computer. I'm not sure how to update it using Odin, or what version of firmware I should use. I am sure that the phone has never been updated because it's on the July 2020 update. It is unlocked but was previously on ATT. I am a Tmobile customer, and I'm not sure if I should use Tmobile or ATT? Should I flash all of the updates in order to catch up, or just the latest? Thank you so much for all of your help.
Hi use Samsung Phone info app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo.plus&hl=en_US&gl=US
With this app you can see phone region code and more, that way you can see firmware that you will need and go to samsung firmware page and download the latest one available...

I bought my S8 on eBay, AT&T unlocked
However, it's last update was the July 1 2018 Android Security patch level update.
I personally have not updated the phone since I got it
When I try to update it by going into software update, it says that 'current software is up to date' without even searching
I'm not using an ATT sim card nor am I in the US
Can anyone assist?
Is there any program that I can download that can update my phone without root?
I don't want to be a ***** but please use the search next time , here is a hint: Odin!!

Download the latest version of the firmware from sammobile and use ODIN flash it. You should be ok from there.
Canadians make up 0.48% of the world's population. To the other 7 billion, our deepest condolences.
Can someone send me the official link for the official stable Pie update? Cuz my phone which is Unlocked AT&T Note 8 has a problem updating.
When I go into settings>>software update>> it always says "Current software is up to date". Same thing happens when I use Samsung Smart Switch on Windows it says the same thing.
I would try to flash the .zip file on the stock recovery.
I would provide the other details below if you need cuz I'm unsure what update file should I use. Thanks!!
There are threads available to help you with that, just need to do a little bit of searching.

Affirmative!
When the August security update comes out for the U.S., will my Cricketwireless SIM allow me to get the AT&T update? Or, do I have to put an AT&T SIM in the phone. Could I just take the SIM out & connect to wifi instead?
Thanks.
Hello,
I need help with my S9+ from ATT. It is still stuck at Android 8.0. I am no longer with ATT and am no longer in the US (Asia now). When i try to do a software update on my phone, it says it is already on the latest update.
How am I able to get the latest update? I have yet to try Odin as I am new to it and am scared that it will brick my phone. Is there any firmware and guide on how to put it to my phone? If successful updated to android9.0, how am i going to get oneUI and subsequent updates?
Is it also possible to make my att phone into a phone that is directly bought from samsung store? So that I am able to get updates directly from samsung?
Please advise. Thanks.
Regards

If you have the U1 variant with unlocked bootloader, you can download latest firmware for your device e.g. with Frija and flash it with Odin.
If you have the U variant with locked bootloader, then you have to wait for Verizon to provide the OTA updates.
i upgraded my galaxy s10e (exynos) to one ui 3.1 and it's showing a lot of lag, and the camera takes time to open and take a picture. (Can anyone help me with this) ? is its performance normal with the one ui 3.1?
reboot in recovery mode (phone needs to be connected with computer by USB), wipe cache followed by repair apps.

To receive OTA updates (from Verizon), you have to stay on original Verizon firmware.
If you are sure that there is already an update available from Verizon, and you do not get it over the air, then contact Verizon support.
Flashing a firmware of another device model into your phone may brick it and you will lose any warranty and support.

1. The U1 model does NOT have an unlocked bootloader.
2. You can manually upgrade either model via the exact same process: download firmware via Frija or wherever and flash in Odin. Waiting for OTA is *never* required
