Yeah wow, looks pretty shoddy, but considering I don't see repair parts for the special edition anywhere, I don't think we'd have a choice. I guess with a case on it afterwards you probably wouldn't be able to tell anyway. Quick question - have you compared the connectors of the backlight for the Kenzo and Kate? Is there any difference? Wonder if it might be software related?

No, i have no idea. I only try to find one because if i break mine a now where i should buy. Is the only place where is cheaper. I find others but is to expensive, almost the price off phone.

can you give links of the expensive ones you have found?
Has anybody tried replacing both the screen and the backplate? If we're lucky we only have to change both and then have no 2mm gap between display and housing.

Hmm? The midframe is 152.5mm... Xiaomi did not extended the length of this phone for fun... if you did that it would not fit at all
Another update... I talked to the people at Cellspare.com and they say that they should have stock again within two months. A long time to wait for parts :/

I have just ordered it, it was available for the gold one at least. Previous to the payment I calculated shipping cost to Finland with my address and it was 0€, it said also the delivery time was 7-10 days. After they´ve received the payment (39,42€), they sent an e-mail with the real delivery time: 11/05. So from 7-10 days to 23 days...
I will have time to check some youtube videos about LCD replacement and decide if I will do it by myself, meanwhile I´m already asking for budget is some shops... I´m not quite slick about assemblings/ replacements.

I have seen many videos, and for me the best one is one from Hon..buy mobile shop (hope you know the youtube channel I mean as I can´t post links yet!)
It´s quite clear and you can perfectly see every single action.
Just received XZP from SONY store, Out for a small trip today ,take pictures for family, all the pictures are distorted, only the head in the middle is slightly normal, but the body still twisted.
See attachment photos the head around the lens surrounding site all the irregular distorted .
this is not a simple wide-angle distortion but a rare irregular distortion.Try to shoot real person in different angles, the problem will be more serious then the attachment screen take photos , you simply can not choose one normal photos
Is this issue can fix by the update ???
XZS forum are the same problems have been 2 months still no fix !
Now seems the whold world xzp is the same problem, the flat shooting distortion is not the main problem, just for your reference .The main problem is the three-dimensional scene, when shooting three-dimensional scene will enhance the perspective several times, seriously beyond the reach of the human eye perceived acceptance , also seriously beyond the distortion of other mobile phones,The closer result you get will distortion more, No matter how you compose, how to adjust the distance and shooting angle,As long as leaving the center little center area, all will be serious distortion,again seriously beyond the distortion of other mobile phones!see carefully all the picture in all pages from different users , Portrait photography and flat grid shooting.

In sony mobile forum this post was deleted by Moderator for unbelievable reason when more people go to feedback problems ,After a lot of user protest why del the post , now they restore,but the main text and the first page have been modified and remove, also lot's users reply has been edited or delete by moderator, I repost in Message page 2. (link page)Take a closer look at the pics in page 2,4,15,18 ,especially portrait and real life photos ,that is the issue you can not avoid from your XZP camera ,whether you adjust any angle, distance,composition,height. Have Sony replied to you yet? It seems many users are experiencing this issue? It may be a early teething issue but it doesn't help that Sony haven't acknowledged this.
I'll be honest, I rarely, if at all, see people in this forum satisfied with Sony camera. I use a camera to take pictures and rely on my phone for calls, text, web etc.

Yeah, I am guessing faulty unit. I've seen like 7-10 reviews, and not one of those cameras has any issues from what I can tell. First thing I'll be doing when I get mine is snapping some shots to see if it's an issue with mine.
I am one from tieba and have seen the discussions of distortion here. It's ture to believe how sony could rarely make this ****ing mistake! It disappoint me at all. The time for dafa sparing no effort to resolve...

I took it to mean faulty device. Maybe the camera is mounted incorrectly or something. I would have it replaced by Sony.
Can anyone tell us what is the Camera app version in XZ Premium? (can be seen under Settings-->Apps-->Camera) I'm just curious.

What I meant get the phone replaced and see and when you're getting replaced do your testing and see if the distortion still persists. If it does that means something is wrong with the glass they're using and Sony should be aware of this matter.
And yes you can try a different camera app from play store to see if this is a software issue.

Precisely for all we know OP may just have a faulty phone. Until they get another & see if that's the same.

Unlocked mobiles. Black version.
Has anyone been able to find a Gcam APK that works properly. For the most part I love everything about this phone but the camera is like a average mid range camera. Obviously we all didn't buy this phone for it's camera but I'm hoping there is a way to make it a bit better.

Anyone else having issues with the blurry photos? Hoping for an update or international version off msm tool.

I have the global unlocked 9 and the camera is amazing to say the least. I love it. Took a bunch of great photos yesterday out with the kids. What version op9 you have?

Well that sucks. Sorry your having issues. I'd return the damn thing. Camera is most important part of my device. Use always.

It's the T-Mobile software has to be. I'm using global op9 unlocked and love the hassleblad cam. And on latest 1.2.5.5
There's no optical image stabilization on this phone like everything else on the market.
Photos have been great for me. Sounds like a hardware issue. Yeah, no OIS, but unless you're shaking a lot, it should not be blurry.

+1 on unlocked global variant with no Ois and pictures shot through my device are amazing. Def hardware issue with your variant.
