Reboot ringtone - Nokia 8.3 5G (8V 5G UW) Questions & Answers

Hi all,
Since I reboot the phone really often while flashing etc. it is really annoying to hear this loud ringtone every time it reboots. I tried to find the solution in the 'adb shell', using getprop and setprop commands but I am afraid that none of the properties is about this reboot sound. Anyone experienced similar issues?

I find it very annoying as well.. have u found a solution for this¿

Unlock locked android phone

I have a LG optimus 2x unrooted and i i have forgotten the password to unlock it "i was kinda druk when i set it"
Its not the pin fo som put it is the built in number code that is used.
Is there some way i can get passed this code. The phone is not rooted but if it is possible to root without unlock it im willing to do it.
But if there is a way to solve this without root i would like that option first.
can yu access tha phone as it is lock?
i cant log on to the phone but i can see the notifications att the top but i cant drag it down
I think you'll have to do Hard Reset. Unless you talk to LG support
My bad. Unsure what the answer is for you. Sorry dude.
cant you do a restore with a pccompanion?(i dont have the same phone so...you understand)
i thing you should communicate with the lg support!
On some phones there's a "Forgot Password" button on the lockscreen where it asks you to put in your Gmail address and password so you can reset it.
use the gmail recover option, i don't tell other options..your post history doesn't really show you owning the phone. sorry
there is no forgott password or anything like that.
Never used the pccompanion or something is that LGstuff or is it some other app.
About me not owning the device : If you have an aoption to unlock it i can send you a copy of the receipt and pm or mail to you.
boot into stock recovery and wipe
Thats just the thing i want to avoid.
Delete the lockscreen apk.
maybe you should hard reset it..

How would that be possible if i cant get in to the phone.
The forgot password option shows up after u enter the password wrong a few times. Just keep entering random 4 digit number untill it gives u the option but if it locks you out and still doesn't have the option stop trying. You will just lock it out longer.
Sent from the phone everyone has forgotten about!

If you know how to use ADB:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv LockScreen.apk LockScreen.bak
exit

Then to undo it:

adb shell
cd /system/app

It's case-sensitive I believe so keep trying different capitalizations of "Lockscreen" if it doesn't work.

That adb disabling of the lockscreen is a unique idea. I'll be curious to know if it works or not. Please keep us posted.

Won't help in this case cause it's a different problem. Probably he messed up something with the backups or just have faulty module. I have the wifi problem and now i'm looking for someone to make backup of his phone using adb shell's su command "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p1.img" and so on mmcblk0p2 till mmcblk0p17

Yes it could be a different problem but it could quite easily be a simple one. How do u know he messed up something? just coz u did, dont mean he did. i bought my phone cheap coz wifi + bluetooth didnt work and digitizer was acting crazy, i tried every fix around n nothing worked then i did what i posted in that link now all is perfect.
@ OP did u try what i said? atleast if u try it and it dont work then we'll have a better idea what the problem could be. Also i read the other day that theres a chip next to the camera that basically controls wifi n that and that could be the problem. try my simple solution first
take a look at this guide too

An app won't work because the logcat is cleared as soon as the device reboots.
But there is another why. Check out this link below and see if this may help you.

Nice. Glad you found something that works. Be interesting now to find out what was causing your phone to reboot randomly. What was the name of the App you found?

Glad you fixed the random reboots. It always seems to be a defective app, unless it's hardware. That's cool you want to create your own roms. Maybe you can create roms for those with older phones too. XDA forums is a great place to learn all about roms, flashing, and what tools to use if your getting into rom development. Best of luck in your quest.

In Call Volume

My in call volume is VERY low, it was working fine previously (a few days ago) but today, it has been almost impossible to hear anything, it is working but it definitely isn't possible to have a proper conversation.
So, I was attempting to get a train, and it was delayed by close to an hour, I needed to be somewhere, and my phone was impossible to use...
I tried rebooting, changing volumes etc. but nothing worked, I tried Googling and edited the ear volume in the mixer file, which seemed to improve it slightly when increased to 93. I then upped it again to 100. This caused the Audio FX program to crash, after every reboot I get constant notifications saying it has crashed. I cannot do anything on the phone itself.
How can I edit the file from my Mac, I have adb and fastboot and have used them before, but don't know how I can edit a system file, as I don't have root permissions from my laptop. How can I edit the file, is it possible to boot to AROMA without flashing, or edit the file from the command line from my mac? Or just stop the notifications so I can edit the file from my device itself?
Anyway, once that's fixed... I need to resolve the problem anyway. What can I do? It wasn't like this a few days ago, so i think it's more likely to be a hardware problem :/
I am assuming you are rooted and if so simply re-flash the rom and set everything back to normal

...Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. Where can I get the ROM from? I normally just flash them from my Mac, but I read that OnePlus took the ROM file down and made it difficult to flash, because people were doing it to the Chinese phones.
I can do it via Terminal or TWRP. Also, do I just leave off the -w flag when flashing?
what rom do you have stock? If so just search the forum and download it to your phone. If you only manipulated one file then find that file if you can and simply use adb to push it back to your phone and overwrite the one you have messed up.

Yeah thats where you messed up, the max value for in-call volume is 93. By having it above it, you're causing problems with the phone.

just flash that in recovery (adb sideload) and it should stop force closing.

Yeah stock. When using push it tells me that it's a read only filesystem, is there a way I can use sudo to do this or something? It's rooted, and I have BusyBox installed.

its a system file I assume and if so you have to mount your system file prior to pushing it over. adb remount is the command or in recovery navigate to mount and check off system then use adb to push it to your phone. When done uncheck system and reboot

Thank you, that's very useful to know! I ended up flashing the zip file someone liked above, but it's always good to learn how to do things the proper way!

Ah okay, I thought it may have been 99 didn't realise it was 93! I flashed that and all it working again now, thank you!
Do you have any idea why the mic is doing this then? Even on 93 it was so quiet, unlike previous days where it appeared to be normal... Can't wait for them to push a proper OTA fixing all these bugs!

Haha! I'll never understand why people want to use toolkits etc. to root, it's so easy to do it without, and you can learn what you are actually doing to your phone.
I just tried a call again, and it is still so quiet... If it's just me, then this must be a hw issue? I haven't changed anything and it's worse than before... Any ideas? I shouldn't have to manually adjust the speaker volume, even when I did it was quiet.

Which one did you flash from that page because I flashed the in call volume only zip a couple of days ago and it has helped. That's really the only thing I had issues with as far as volume

I went back to the default, flashed the whole OS again, then tried flashing Default+ the one you have. It's still almost impossible to hear people, I could just manage it in a quiet room inside.

May have to RMA this one
