Can't create .nomedia file, tried everything I could think of - General Questions and Answers

I have a music library with a lot of album covers and I don't want them appearing in my gallery and stuff.
Tried creating a .nomedia file in the Music directory but it disappeared.
Tried it with windows explorer, adb shell, tried creating then renaming it.
Couldn't find a solution online either. Does anyone know of a way to create a .nomedia file?
I'm using an Android 12 GSI on Galaxy A71
Edit: it's not hidden, I ran "ls -la" and there are no files.

Corrupt File Names

Guys - I am new to this, so please be patient!
I have a problem with a load of corrupt file names in my IE temporary files folder. I have no way to delete them - going through PIE's 'Memory' option does not work, Total Commander cannot delete them, I even tried with a DOS command line utility.
The problem seems to be that the OS is unable to delete the files because the files have invalid characters in their name. I have tried moving / renaming them, but again it dont work!
The files also have peculiar dates (eg 01/03/1601), and appaerently huge sizes (3GB!).
Is there any other way I can delete them?
Any suggestions to fix this would be much appreciated.
Thanks

[Q] Has this happened to anyone else?

i switched roms acouple times today and this has happened one other time.
All my video files not the folders or subtitles or anything just the video files themselves have been deleted.
Using brilliant corners and bottle o smoke and bam they are gone...
all you have to do is make a no media file. basically make a new text doc on your computer and just save it as ".nomedia" You do not have to write anything in the file. This will tell the tablet not to delete any files out of this folder. put this file in every folder that has media items. I hope this helps.
Hmmm...I've never had that happen to me, but thanks for the tip fosser2
It's a known issue and easily fixed with the .nomedia file. Beware though that windows won't let you create such a file. I think most android file managers will allow you to create a file and rename it ".nomedia".

You can easily make this file form windows. Right-click on any explorer window and choose New>Text file. Then just rename it to .nomedia instead of NewTextDocument.txt or whatever the default is.
Scratch that. Windows says "type a file name" or something. Just use notepad++ as someone else mentioned...

Saved File using Hancom HWord (Factory) and Now Can't View/Access File

So, I edited a word doc from an email, using the built-in Hancom HWord viewer/editor. I used Save As from the menu. I wasn't paying attention to the file path and just added a suffix to the file name. Turns out I was saving in a protected folder. HWord cannot be opened directly from the Applications on the phone, but only by opening a Word doc from email, etc., but that doesn't present an Open option.
So, since I can't open the app and get an Open option, and because the file is in a protected folder, I can't get to this file.
The only method I've found out there for rooting my phone involves deleting the phone. Not an option when all I need to do is get to the file and copy it somewhere else.
I tried installing the latest HWord, and of course it does not have access to the original HWord's folder.
Do any of you know a method I can get to the file? Again, just need to copy it to a readily accessible folder.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

how to edit packages.xml

Hello, hopefully I am posting in the correct section.
I want to give my phone app access to write and delete files on my SD card, but unfortunate Android remove this ability in newer android versions, so I found the following thread.
https://android.stackexchange.com/q...ccess-to-external-storage-to-an-app-in-nougat
When I plug the phone into computer, only three folders is found in /data, the system folder is missing. Why ain't all folders shown when accessing through computer?
I found the packages.xml file in using root explorer, which showns all files, I opened it, but I have no idea how to edit it.
Can someone give me a general instruction on how to edit the package.xml?
Thanks.

Whatsapp changed directory starting from android 11. What happens to the old directory media files?

Hello,
Whatsapp changed the media directory starting from android 11.
What happens to the old directory media files?
I see that they are still in the old directory.
Does whatsapp access both media directories in parallel?
