Why did you attempt this what were you trying to do? Take the stock unmodified MSM back to T-Mobile firmware, than you can convert to global using fastboot.

Alternatively, this tool can unlock bootloader without unlock_code. But it only works in linux

[Q] Offline Nexus Root Toolkit

I am trying to root my Nexus S (running 2.3.4) while being offline. I was able to unlock the phone but the toolkit wants to download an image file to load onto the phone. It's looking for openrecovery-twrp-2.3.3.0-crespo.img. Does anyone know where I can find this file to download manually and then transfer to my dev machine? Also, are there any other files that I might need to download in order to gain root access with this toolkit? I'm not trying to do anything crazy with the phone; just change an IP with ifconfig. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Yeah, just go ahead and try to do it offline. It will fail and then it will bring up another interface for manually downloading the files and browsing to them on your local machine. That interface will have a hyperlink for a direct download from goo.im servers. Click that hyperlink, it will try and open in a browser, but then you can copy paste that url to whatever machine you want to use to actually download it.
I considered the possibility that the auto download may not be an all in one solution, that's why I coded that manual nrt downloader interface as a contingency plan. Cheers.

[Q] How to open or Deploy original XAP into WP7

Hi All,
I have been using my 2nd gen Samsung Win Phone for a while (Omnia W - GT-I8350 to be more specific). I have recently interop unlock it.
The main account on the phone is a US Live account. So the app store tied to the US version. I however now living in the UK and wanted to install O2 Priority Moments. The app is only on UK store and when I tab the link on O2 website from my phone, it doesn't allow me to install it due to country restrictions.
I managed to found the app page on my PC, and downloaded the XAP for installing via SD card. But my phone doesn't have a card slot. I tried to sideload the XAP using Deploy software. But it cannot be read by the application.
Also, I thought normal XAP should have no difference to a ZIP file. But those I downloaded from Windows Phone website just cannot be open with 7zip or RAR software. The same happens to another free app that I wanted to install, but only available in the Hong Kong store.
Can anyone shed me some light on sorting it out?
Many thanks,
Jack

As far as I know, XAP files cannot be opened and edited like, for example, apk files in Android, because Windows Phone isn't open source. Therefore, all the apps are protected from editing (you actually CAN open them in WinRAR!).
If you have a proper XAP file of the app, you should be able to sideload it with Tom XAP Installer for example. But I'm fairly new to the world of Windows Phone, so you might wanne wait for someone else's answer. In the meantime, take a look here, it seems to be possible to change your region and therefore download the app the official way: http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/f...-allow-changing-your-windows-id-live-location

I have no problem in deploying other homebrew apps and/or "modified" apps in to my phone. Only those XAP downloaded from the windows phone website, those supposed to be installed via SD card, does work for me.
Anyone know how to make it work?
Thanks,
Jack

I think it's because now apps from Marketplace are encrypted, so maybe only Marketplace app can decrypt and install them.
If you're phone is unlocked, you can make an archive file for each installed app and then save it into your pc (if you search in this forum you should find some threads about this item).
Winrar or similar software "don't know" they need to decrypt the xap file.
"XAP downloaded from the windows phone website, those supposed to be installed via SD card"

The answer is no, you can't put it in a Windows machine or ANY computer or other device and access it... Not now or ever, without root access (or at minimum TWRP's file manager which requires an unlocked bootloader) to your device so you can get the decryption token. Even if you get the decryption token, Windows doesn't have the ability to do it, you need Linux and some decent terminal (command line) skills to do it. The process is detailed here: https://nelenkov.blogspot.com/2015/06/decrypting-android-m-adopted-storage.html
Your best bet is to try to get it to be recognized in the phone (your post implies it works sometimes) and then copy the files via USB or push them to Drive or a similar online storage. The only other option is to use Linux to dd the card to a larger on and try the larger one, it has worked for some people in the past. https://forum.xda-developers.com/2015-moto-g/general/retrieve-data-unreadable-adopted-t3617250

Thank you for the detailed answer.
I somewhere read that you can access it via a Linux file manager for Windows (DiskInternals Linux Reader). I will try it.

You can try, but it won't work without the decryption key... The whole point of encryption is so nothing can access it, and it works quite well, but in situations like this it's a problem that we just can't overcome. Sorry.

Copy off data and get a new one, or try the copy method I linked above.

How do I create/acquire all of the necessary firmware files to use Tool Studio 4.6?

I don't have access to a computer SD card reader (my laptop keeps crashing and won't boot, for some reason), so I just have my desktop with a microUSB cable. I am trying to use Tool Studio 4.6 to get stock firmware back onto my hard bricked S3 SCH-S968C and boot it up, but apparently the firmware I downloaded from SAMMOBILE doesn't have everything I need (go figure ). It's missing two .xml files, for one thing, and some files aren't named right either. Attached is a screen cap of the folder containing the firmware I downloaded. Any input on how to get FULL firmware to flash onto my phone would be much appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: I can't get into download or recovery mode, so that's why I'm trying to use Tool Studio. If anyone has a better suggestion for flashing firmware on a phone that can't get into either mode, please feel free to add it here. Thanks again!

[HELP] Redmi Note 7 Pro bricked

Hello. I was trying to install TWRP on my Redmi Note 7 Pro. After I had installed it, my phone was only loading in fastboot. Then I used a bunch of fastboot commands including fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn. And that seems to be the reason it bricked.
Now I'm trying to repair it. I've turned it in EDL mode. But MI flash gives me an error: "System.Exception: authentification failed Cannot create the file because it already exists".
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for this. I'll look in that program soon.
So I've managed to succesfully flash my phone with Miracle Tool, but it still doesn't turn on. Then I flashed it with Mi Flash (Idk how this worked, earlier it was asking to log into an account). But again, it doesn't turn on.
Do you know what to do with this?
P.S. I have Search Phone enabled on my MI account
MiFlash only starts flashing if I paste "prog_emmc_firehose_Sdm660_ddr.mbn" into "image" folder. However, it's not official, I downloaded it from somewhere in the Web. When I leave the original "prog_emmc_firehose_Sm6150_ddr.elf" file in the folder, it gives me error: "System.Exception: programmer transfer error 4"
Update: I've found "prog_emmc_firehose_Sm6150_ddr.mbn" file that doesn't give me any errors, but phone still doesn't load up after flashing
