Question Hacks - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Can the Samsung Galaxy 4 watch be used to hack into my phone? if so, how can I tell?

Visit China and connect to a free wifi and then come back and completely reverse engineer all the software on your device lol
On a serious note probably not unless someone can figure out how to use your Bluetooth connection between the watch and phone to launch attacks which is I'm sure definitely possible but it'd be far easier creating a fake Bluetooth device that mimick your watch and make the phone connect to it

[Q] Any way to pair bluetooth phone to tablet to answre calls?

I decided to just keep my simcard on my tab and was wondering if there was any way we can pair our bluetooth phone to the tab to answer calls? I've been just using the speakerphone for now.
Would be nice if we could use a bluetooth phone to answer calls from the tablet.
The only option we have so far is either a bluetooth handsfree device or a pocket talker ( Samsung HM5000 Pen Type Bluetooth 3.0 Headset).
Are you asking about Bluetooth earphones or a Bluetooth - enabled cordless phone? Certainly the earphones will work. If it's a phone you're asking about, and I guess it will depend on whether that phone has unusual requirements.

I'm also watching out for this function. The Phone Link app mentioned is very near the function we want but the development stopped since 2011.

[Q] Looking for Bluetooth Device That Does Nothing to Use with Smart Lock

I'm too lazy to type a PIN all the time, so I like the idea of Smart Lock to unlock my phone.
What I would like to do is have a very small Bluetooth device that I can carry in my pocket which will keep my Nexus 5 unlocked when it is paired, but of course the phone would lock if removed from the area of the Bluetooth device in my pocket.
An obvious thing is to carry a Bluetooth headset - but I don't want to use the headset to talk, so that's not a great idea.
I'm really looking for a small device that I can carry that will pair with my phone, but really do nothing other than connect which would then trigger Smart Lock.
Any ideas?

What about those fobs that go on your keychain to help you find your keys if you lost them?

I completely forgot about those! I wanted to order one but it slipped my mind. Thanks for reminding me!
This isn't answering the question you're asking, but the Google Play Services update that's rolling out currently is adding "Trusted Places". This way you can be at home, work, or any other place defined in Google Maps and the device automatically unlocks. Tasker and apps like Unlock With Wifi have done this for some time.

I know it's not necessarily a "simple" or "does nothing" solution, but have you considered a android wear device? That's what I have set up as my trusted device.
Might be easier to remember to wear a watch than to throw some meaningless device into your pocket; the watch will have more purpose.
I have been informed that as I look at my phone too much as it is, that I will be divorced if I get an Android wear device.

If anything, wear device would cut down on how much you check phone since notifications come up. But from there it's all about self control [emoji6]
@ronwi2 I know this thread is really old but did you find anything satisfactory?

I need a real help from the experts in here please

Hello Guys,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy grand prime (SM-G530H) and I bought Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 classic smart watch. I tried to download the Samsung Gear from the internet. I can pair the watch with my phone through Bluetooth well, but when I use Samsung Gear application to connect to my S2 watch, a message appears "Gear Not found".
please, try to help me to connect my phone with the watch, since I can't buy another phone nowadays, since I'm really broke. I just wanted to try out that watch and paid all what i had to get it.
Thanks in advance
Peter

Hello Tapatalk,
Well, my phone was rooted long time ago. I know now that Samsung Gear S2 is only compatible with Android phones with RAM bigger than 1.5 GB, but I'm sure there is a solution so that my phone can be connected to the my gear watch, since it's just useless now!
Kind Regards,

Try to pair the phone to the watch using the Samsung Gear app first, do not pair the watch to the phone under Bluetooth connections.
Also, there are files that many people remove when they are trying to lighten up roms. Your best bet is to backup your current Rom and flash a pure stock Rom. If you can't get things connected that way, you know it's a device compatibility issue

Hey guys I know it's unrelated but do you think there's an app that can emulate hard keys ie. Volume/Home, so I could like use it for the camera or some kind of camera app.
There're paid apps for it. But I have a non-samsung phone, I can't purchase any.

You may be able to do that with Task2 on the S2 and Tasker running on your phone. I use Task2 to set my phone on vibrate and to do some other things with it.

Thanks a lot sir. It helped a lot. Is there a thread for this? I mean more tips and tricks for tasker

Oneplus 7 - ANT+?

Just wondering from anyone who has already gotten hold of this device - does it support ANT+ ? I know oneplus has been a bit hit and miss in this department in their previous phones.
Would very much appreciate if someone could test for me as it will be the decider between this phone and a samsung!
Thanks!!

Judging by the list published on ant+ website, no. Only a handful of manufacturers support it.
But what is your use case for wanting ant+ in a phone? I mean I have garmin devices with ant+ and I've never used it.
My watch has bluetooth and wifi, and my scales have wifi. Perhaps the only device without bluetooth or wifi is the heart strap, which I hardly ever use since the wrist monitor is pretty decent for running.

The list on the ant+ website isnt exhaustive. There are apps available to enable to hardware in a lot of phones - oneplus included. However in the 6/6t there were issued with its stability and I was wondering if it has been resolved in the 7.
why do I want it? So i can use it as a bike computer instead of shelling out £££ for a garmin edge which does the same thing. I need the ANT+ for my cadence and power meters. I dont want to be constantly looking at my watch whilst im riding.
Also, the garmin footpod is ANT+ (although this gets picked up by my watch so is fine).
I don't have a bike computer, but if you want me to test something I have the phone.
If you can explain how (what app etc) I can try it with the heart rate monitor, which is only ant+, no wifi or bluetooth.

Michal,
You got wrong answers.
I have a Watch Active 2 and:
1) Pairing works if you have Google Serv but it often disconnect without reason.
2) NFC payments does not work, both for phone and watch because the P40 Pro isn't certified for Safety Net.
Hope to have made your day for real lol
Ciao

I guess you jumped the shark, he didn't ask about nfc payments, he asked about pairing and connecting which the watch does with GMS. I haven't had it disconnect without me moving physically away from my phone on both my galaxy watch and watch active. YMMV
Ops! Ok, hope this further information will be useful. Ciao!
In two or three days I will check myself.
I have never tried NFC payments with my watch - always with a phone, so it is not crucial for me.
The banking application is already in AppGallery so this should be fine
Im interested in this, be curious to see if it works as it runs off wear OS

This wath is based on Samsung's Tizen
The watch is working fine.
I was able to install all required samsung apps (nothing to do external, all within galaxy wear , download and install watch faces, get most alarms, calls, messages etc.
Of course there is a problem with apps not working properly with GMS, so some apps do not send notification, but it is not a watch problem. I will try with icebox.
will Samsung pay from the watch work? anyone tried?

I tested galaxy wearable even before installing GMS. And it worked like a charm.
I was just wondering about a P40 for my wife. however, she is terribly attached to her Galaxy watch, from what I read they will boldly cooperate?
Or there is to much issues ? She's a-technological so I'd rather avoid unnecessary stress for her . or better if I buy P30 with Android certificated?
How did you guys get your Active 2 to pair with Wearables?
My P40 Pro keeps trying to pair, gives me a pin but on the Active 2, I don't get a chance to enter a pin.
Running GMS as well.
HSM on second device Worked well

I do own Huawei P30 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro.
Suppose my galaxy watch connect new phone the old device keep for Google Certificated NFC.
Good Luck!
I'm currently using my galaxy watch active with my p40 pro stock fully.
I don't have GMS installed.
Everything works fine with me. Any notification issues are almost always linked to the battery optimization settings on the phone.
Overall very good experience.
Though Samsung pay doesn't work in my country so can't comment there.

Please don't get your wife a p40 pro unless the only apps she uses are in the app gallery.
You need to get her something that doesn't need any workarounds to fully function as she expects it.
Just a recommendation and my opinion .
Maybe look at a Pixel 5 or a Galaxy FE
apple watch doesn't compare to anything!
