Michal,
You got wrong answers.
I have a Watch Active 2 and:
1) Pairing works if you have Google Serv but it often disconnect without reason.
2) NFC payments does not work, both for phone and watch because the P40 Pro isn't certified for Safety Net.
Hope to have made your day for real lol
Ciao

I guess you jumped the shark, he didn't ask about nfc payments, he asked about pairing and connecting which the watch does with GMS. I haven't had it disconnect without me moving physically away from my phone on both my galaxy watch and watch active. YMMV

Ops! Ok, hope this further information will be useful. Ciao!

In two or three days I will check myself.
I have never tried NFC payments with my watch - always with a phone, so it is not crucial for me.
The banking application is already in AppGallery so this should be fine

Im interested in this, be curious to see if it works as it runs off wear OS

This wath is based on Samsung's Tizen

The watch is working fine.
I was able to install all required samsung apps (nothing to do external, all within galaxy wear , download and install watch faces, get most alarms, calls, messages etc.
Of course there is a problem with apps not working properly with GMS, so some apps do not send notification, but it is not a watch problem. I will try with icebox.

will Samsung pay from the watch work? anyone tried?

I tested galaxy wearable even before installing GMS. And it worked like a charm.

I was just wondering about a P40 for my wife. however, she is terribly attached to her Galaxy watch, from what I read they will boldly cooperate?
Or there is to much issues ? She's a-technological so I'd rather avoid unnecessary stress for her . or better if I buy P30 with Android certificated?

How did you guys get your Active 2 to pair with Wearables?
My P40 Pro keeps trying to pair, gives me a pin but on the Active 2, I don't get a chance to enter a pin.
Running GMS as well.

HSM on second device Worked well

I do own Huawei P30 Pro and Huawei P40 Pro.
Suppose my galaxy watch connect new phone the old device keep for Google Certificated NFC.
Good Luck!

I'm currently using my galaxy watch active with my p40 pro stock fully.
I don't have GMS installed.
Everything works fine with me. Any notification issues are almost always linked to the battery optimization settings on the phone.
Overall very good experience.
Though Samsung pay doesn't work in my country so can't comment there.

Please don't get your wife a p40 pro unless the only apps she uses are in the app gallery.
You need to get her something that doesn't need any workarounds to fully function as she expects it.
Just a recommendation and my opinion .
Maybe look at a Pixel 5 or a Galaxy FE

apple watch doesn't compare to anything!

I need a real help from the experts in here please

Hello Guys,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy grand prime (SM-G530H) and I bought Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 classic smart watch. I tried to download the Samsung Gear from the internet. I can pair the watch with my phone through Bluetooth well, but when I use Samsung Gear application to connect to my S2 watch, a message appears "Gear Not found".
please, try to help me to connect my phone with the watch, since I can't buy another phone nowadays, since I'm really broke. I just wanted to try out that watch and paid all what i had to get it.
Thanks in advance
Peter

Hello Tapatalk,
Well, my phone was rooted long time ago. I know now that Samsung Gear S2 is only compatible with Android phones with RAM bigger than 1.5 GB, but I'm sure there is a solution so that my phone can be connected to the my gear watch, since it's just useless now!
Kind Regards,

Try to pair the phone to the watch using the Samsung Gear app first, do not pair the watch to the phone under Bluetooth connections.
Also, there are files that many people remove when they are trying to lighten up roms. Your best bet is to backup your current Rom and flash a pure stock Rom. If you can't get things connected that way, you know it's a device compatibility issue

Hey guys I know it's unrelated but do you think there's an app that can emulate hard keys ie. Volume/Home, so I could like use it for the camera or some kind of camera app.
There're paid apps for it. But I have a non-samsung phone, I can't purchase any.

You may be able to do that with Task2 on the S2 and Tasker running on your phone. I use Task2 to set my phone on vibrate and to do some other things with it.

Huawei Watch 2 China Version

Hello guys!
I purchased this from China and realise I cannot change the language to english. And also having to use the China Version of Android Wear. Is there any way to flash and change the system language or change to global android wear 2.0?
I have my eyes on this too and would like to know myself!
On the original it looked fairly straightforward, hopefully it is on this one too...
You don't have to use android ware 2.0 chinese version. I have global version installed on my iPhone and have successfully connected to huawei watch 2. I could enable Feed and sync calendar cards, email cards etc.

This is my current problem now, watch was bought from China and requires me to install the Android Wear from China as well.
Any idea how to get a copy of the English ROM for Huawei Watch 2?

I don't want to risk flashing HW1 firmware on this.
BTW, is it possible that the developer preview for Huawei Watch 2 will also be available to the public? Is it also possible to just ask Huawei for the files and flash it myself?
They provided a QR which helped me download the Android Wear Chinese Version but it still shows the text in Chinese even if the language in my phone is set to English. Are you saying that there is an Android Wear China App (com.google.android.wearable.app.cn) which can make the HW2 text in English? I think I could live with that for now, else I'll just wait for the English Version before using this daily...
(I can't post the actual link from the QR code, but it's just from VMall dot Com)

you are right, better not risk to flash other ROM, just wait a bit, developers will give us all we need. I am waiting too.... I am trying to get custom recovery on it with no results...... will wait too... you cant set watch to english, no way at all. forget it until we will see an international ROM
I am also about to purchase the china version, but need to know it it will be able to flash the international version later on. Can I assume it will be possible?

Hi, I finally given up the 2nd gen and would opt for the first gen even it is actually more expensive.
the 2nd gen is simply... a toy watch. The original one would seem sustain better.
But my last concern would be battery, will the 2nd gen last much longer than the first one?

Nice is not what people say it is, is what you really like, this is for all things, always.
in second, if you dont mind to spend a lot (my personal opinion) in a watch that was out on 2015 is ok, but 2thgen is better in performances, pixels, ram, battery and so on.
I have apple watch steel ($$$$$$) that is perfect for iphone owners(me), huawei 1th gen, good for sure and really nice, now time to try something more powerfull and also price is finally "real".
anyway, as I say, up to you.
battery is a bit better than 1thgen cause is bigger but not that much, depend on how you will use it, gps and gyro for exaple are consuming a bit, but it will be not a problem for you cause 1th gen have not gps....
by the way, why you are care about version? you are in HK you should find international version too. I always buy my phones there, all international.

The international version in HK will usually cost at least 40% more than that in China. That's the only reason.
On second thought, I am getting an Huawei 2 despite the Huawei 1 is much more appealing and better build quality. In any way it is a tech toy. The battery should sustain no longer than 3 years and it worths nothing by then. So keeping the toy with latest techology would be a good choice.
under what circumstances you can use the china watch except using it as an digital watch?
Almost all app are incompatible. Not even the spotify. Only those happened to be in the Huawei app store will run.

List of non-working apps on Mate 30 Pro

According to my Mate 30 Pro and others, this is the status
Netflix ("Could not reach netflix service")
Google pay (works for some, not for others)
All Google apps (unless you installed before LZplay.net was taken down)
Google translate (usually works without other google services)
Facebook/Messenger (login error)
Instagram (login error)
Amazon appstore (Cannot pass login authentication test)
TD Canada (fails to install even from Huawei app store)
Pandora
Nord VPN
Galaxy Wearable (works when restored from backup?)
Uber
That said, all apps that have a mobile web interface work fine, like Netflix and Facebook you can load in a mobile browser.
If anyone knows more, please tell me and I can update the list.
In case you're wondering, every phone brand in China does not ship with Google services (google is blocked in China), but they all have their own installer programs to install it all for you.

I currently have a Mate 10 and all apps work fine, and since it's a Chinese model I had to install Google services manually anyway, like I will on the Chinese Mate 30.
Since I don't have the phone, I heard from reviewers what apps they said weren't working correctly:
Netflix
Google pay (woks for some, not for others)
Youtube (Picture in picture issues)
If anyone knows more, please tell me and I can update the list.

In London UK. Phone is lovely apart from Google. Its the best phone out now. And I've tried them all. I'm trying as we speak to see how I can live without Google
The huawei email app is set to my Google email
I'm using the huawei China app store, so much better than if set to UK. And the amazon app store
I've restored all other apps from the huawei backup
It's doable. But I'd so rather not have to
The one thing is battery life is so much better without Google. Much
Apps not working
Pandora, Nord VPN for me.
The back door to install google play service has been closed ... If Huawei still doesn't allow to unlock bootloader, keep these wonderful phones in mainland China ... We have to choose another phone with google play service ! Or you can accept for web link to use google application !

Historically even before the mate 30 pro, Chinese variants wouldn't allow 3rd party launchers. So based on that I'd say no.

Request to any P40 owner

There was an option in camera app on my previous Samsung Galaxy S8+, and it appears it's an option with Huawei's Mate 20 series, that allows the camera to only record slow-mo video when motion is detected.
However, this 'only record when motion detected' slow-mo option is missing on my P30 Pro.
Can anyone with a P40-series phone let me know if Huawei put it back in?
EDIT: Never mind. Turns out the option appears when you select 960 fps. Here's what I captured:

The camera is excellent exactly how I expected it to be after owning a mate 20 Pro a last year, and that device ruined my experience of owning a note 10 plus as the camera on the note just couldn't compare.
Software is good although EMUI is one of my favourite android skins anyway. I find it pretty easy to live without gms as I don't really do social media or anything.
It is easy to put gms on this device although I took it off just to run a stock phone as stock. Due to the fact the only things I wanted from gms (Google pay and music) won't work anyway.
Main gripe with this phone is no gpay or banking apps. Hopefully Huawei can sort this soon. Oh and no stereo speaker or dolby atmos.
Now I need to decide whether to switch from my note 10 plus to this or not?

Thanks a lot..i had the note 10plus and i agree its a beautiful device though camera might be a level below p40pro. So its a tough decision.
I hv a iphone11 pro max and will probably use p40pro as a secondary phone mainly due to its camera

Yeah the note Is a good phone but Samsung ruined the note with a software update that made the camera blurry and the Bluetooth streaming skip on music play back. And seems as though I take 100+ inspection photos daily for work it's very annoying.
I just can't get on with Samsung ui either it's too much.
The thought of not being fully tracked by Google is quite refreshing as well.
It is weird how nice this phone feels... I find even if I'm not using it I just rotate it in the hand whilst watching TV odd.

Banking Apps - Barclays

Hi all just purchased a Huawei P40 Pro purely because I am a huge Huawei fan boy I believe Huawei make some am amazing products, I like many thought this has to be the end of Huawei when the announcement of Google was being dropped last year but I have bitten the bullet and purchased a P40 Pro all my key apps have come across EXCEPT Barclays Bank?
Can anyone share a workaround for this please?

Hey yeah I think the google thing was a bit awful for them but then when you look at the freedom it gives them In the sense of how they run android as an AOSP they can now be more creative! But the work around I would recommend is just add it as a short cut to the home screen, its a mobile version of the site so it has the app feel but in a short cut. That's what I have done! How are you getting on with the phone? don't forget theres a promo with the free watch so remember to claim that!

Use weblink and save it as a shortcut to your homes screen, that's the best workaround currently. What other apps did you pull over? have you found any others that don't work i may be able to help.

I bank with Barclay's too, but have always preferred banking on my PC... Just out of curiosity, do you know how wireless bank payments via NFC would work at the moment?
I had same problem with natwest and Google due. Installed the ice box method and Google due and natwest are working fine now

I've heard rumours Huawei Pay will be rolling outside of China soon, I'm not big on mobile payments the concept is great definitely one to look out for.

That's awesome to know, Does Westpac work?
I think you will just have to use the web version and save the link. Barclays have always been bit strange when it comes to others using their services in my experience. They don't let you use Gpay and you can only be used with apple pay.
