i want new phone unlocked because my g1 is slow but i was curious if there was a way to know if the chinese android phone is flashable and using which rom? and which is a good phone to buy ...
bumpppppp/
It hasn't even been 3 hours, there's no need for a bump. Also I don't think those cheap knockoffs can be flashed but it's possible. First you have to root it though which is probably possible with one of the "one-click root" apps. Actually flashing one is a bit more involved because of hardware differences. Next time just get the real phone instead of a knockoff, save yourself some headache and heartache at not being able to do everything you want.
i actually have a g1 thank you very much handsome
Well then take out the "next time"s from my previous post and I stick by it. Knockoffs generally aren't that great. Getting the real version from a store is better, even craigslist or ebay.
I rooted my galaxy note replica with bin4ry it worked perfectly as for flashing i have flashed a few things but to flash a rom it would be harder because i have found out i would have to port the custom rom to work with my device.

What did I miss? Why the assumption that the OP is talking about a "cheap knock-off". Maybe he means a Huawei, or ZTE or something.
Rooting android from China
Ok, i don't know if this is the right place to ask this question, but i'm desperate. I want to flash my phone that i recently bought in China, but i'm getting no where. The problem is that i can't find recovery mod that will work on my phone. If someone have any idea what recovery mod should i try, please suggest it to me.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy Style Duos I-8262D.

It will depend on the device you have. You should search xda for your device name, but if it is a cloned device, you may not be able to find anything, because some clones are not well supported.
I used to root al my devices, galaxy 1,3,4,5,6, htc one x, m7/8/9, pixel 2, and now I own an oneplus 6, 8gb/120. My question is: is any advantage in rooting this device? Or will be the same but with custom kernel/recovery/rom? Thanks guys.

I was the same as you. Rooted my nexus's etc. But apart from doing specific things such as installing google apps on the oneplus rather than the Oxygen ones I cant see the point anymore. I think the slot a/b things has also taken the fun out of flashing roms. Used to be a piece of cake but now the slightest thing out of order and your gone.
Just my thoughts and only for me personally.
Depends on why you want root :s I want root to backup apps + data custom kernel and for ViPER4Android.
Also, the A/B slot thing isnt making flashing roms hard, you just have to remember that when flashing a ROM it will replace twrp, also it's important to have the firmware installed to the slot you want to use for your custom rom ?* but like I said, I could go without root aswell if it wasn't for viper and custom kernel.
Yeah just depends on how you want to interact with your phone. I like to root my device for adaway, so my free apps don't have those annoying popup ads. I'm looking at you mx player...
Thanks
Thanks to all who reply this. Im considering root my device, especially because one of u said something about adaway <3 I would love that! Thanks for ur help guys,.

To be honest, having Magisk on the phone isn't gonna take functionnality away ... It's just a nice thing to have when you need too, so the question is more :
Is there a reason not to root it ?

The fix is the same now as it was before. Backup your snapchat, restore it on the rooted device.
Or.. Just stop using it lol
Even if you get it working on a rooted device, you could end up getting banned.
Rooting really depends on how much time you have to waste.
fixing boot loops.
broken apps.
loss of services such as Google pay.
Broken camera functions.
Seems like every custom rom has issues.
My attitude pertains to the OnePlus devices now if you have a Samsung device then root that suckers to get rid of their crapware.

I mean... If you don't know what your doing in the first place then yes.. You would probably have these errors..
Supposedly our device can be bootloader unlocked right? I mean I tried going through the process on Nokia's website and it allowed me (tho I didn't go all the way cuz my device is registered and I'm afraid they'll void me the warranty as soon as they give me the unlock bootloader code) so why doesn't this device have more custom ROMs?
I sold my Mi A2 and bought this device and although its a much MUCH better device than A2, I do miss the many custom ROMs that device has available, and it baffles me because A2 and this device share most of the same specs. I know the bootloader unlocking issue WAS an issue months, if not years ago, because HMD didn't allowed it. Is there a lack of source code for the development of custom ROMs or this device doesn't interest the community what-so-ever?
There is no official way to unlock bootloader, only unoffical.
Nokia 7+ has treable support, so any a/b GSI should work.
Who would want a custom ROM on an Android One phone?

First, you may have not read a lot on our beloved XDA forums/community, otherwise you would know some better behavior. So, get some manners.
Second, usually, you wish for/use a cleaned and better responsive custom ROM to get away from bloated **** ROMs installed by phone manufacturers, but with an Android One device you do not have to. At least, I hear that is why loads of people use/buy them (including me). Unlocking the boot loader and installing Magisk is nice, but what else do you need then?

I actually prefer a more AOSP Pixel version of Android than anything else (Pixel Experience), plus Mi A2 already has a custom rom based on Android Q's beta, something this device does not have.
Hi Guys, I'm not new to modding but I have been out for a long time mainly because I had the bad idea of buying a Samsung Exynos device and didn't want to break the knoxx counter...
Now i own a pixel 4a and i'd like to install a custom kernel.
My questions are:
1. unlocking the bootloader will affect GPay?
2. if i install a custom kernel (the Blu one, I'm fond of the days of the nexus 5 ), can i mod the vibration intensity without rooting the phone?
I prefer not use magisk to hide root, that's the reason of my questions.
thank you!

Expect GPay to be impacted going forward as security can not be assured on an unlocked device. I believe vibration intensity is controlled at the ROM vs kernel level.
ok thank you. so root is mandatory if I want to control kernel parameters via rom.
Now I have to decide ifunlock bootloader and find a solution for gpay or leave everything stock...
thanks
So i just bought the Mix Fold 2, however the previous owner.. flashed global rom and there is no access for 5g on T-Mobile no because of it...
any way to rectify this or am I have to reflash to china rom?
any tutorials on that... much appreciated... (please don't be those guys or gals that say.... git gud and search... if you have the link... just post it)
im curious im having the same issue
There is no Global rom, you need to flash back to the original rom. This phone is better off with a locked bootloader and a good debloat of the China ROM....
