According to Motorola, Android 12 is coming to the Moto G Stylus 2021 & Stylus 5G, no release date has been announced but they're starting roll out Android 12 in general starting Febuary, so expect it to start rolling out for some Moto phones soon, and we can only hope the 5G is a higher priority device.

At this very moment I'm using the Lenovo Rescue and Smart Assistant tool to do a device rescue back to stock after giving Lineage a try, and it's downloading Android 12, lol. Just a heads up. Not sure it's out for OTA yet, but the tool is certainly downloading it.
Edit: Upon installing it's Android 11, looks like it was falsely labeled in the recovery app.
Let's hope we are a priority and that we get some of the same software that the Edge X2 has.
Moto G Pro is receiving Android 12 in Europe right now which means the G Stylus (called the G Pro in Europe) should be receiving it pretty soon here n the US.

It never came, we not even in the list of android 12
G Stylus is not the G Pro in EU, the G Pro is a separate device, multiple.
We're getting A12, give it time, G Stylus isn't a top of the line model.
Yeah I got it a few days ago. The update says it was released early April, but I don't have auto-update enabled, I just checked it on a whim.
Looks like the battery optimization for apps is gone?

Will the display from regular moto g fit to the moto g lte? my moto g lte has a broken display and i wanna replace it with the display from moto g and i just want to know if there will be any problems with compatibility. thanks
I've changed the display of only one moto g 4g so far, with a normal moto g one.It worked just fine.
thank you
I'm well aware I'm posting this in the Moto G forum.
Amazon has the Moto G LTE for just under $200. They also have unlocked/new AT&T G2's for $200 to $220 (we use Cricket). There are things I like about both, for different reasons, so I'm asking the Moto G community to tell me why you would pick the G over the G2 - or not?
TIA

This might be slightly biased but moto g 4g any day for me all my Mobiles have been moto from the defy, atrix,RAZR I now moto g 4g
Here's where I'm at so far... and ultimately it will depend on how important each factor is to me I guess.
Camera: G2
Battery: I think the G might be better, but the G2 is obviously solid
Screen: G2
Processor / Speed: G2, but the G holds it's own thanks to good software.
Size / feel: I like the size of both. I like the grippier feel of the G and the fact it's easier to use with one hand. I wouldn't need a case with the G, I feel the need for one with the G2
Speaker: G
"Freedom": G... no carrier branding, can unlock bootloader, updates from Moto. My G2 is AT&T, so I have to pop an AT&T sim in to get updates
Dev Support: strong for both... but there doesn't appear to be near as much for the peregrine as the falcon, which is disappointing, unless I'm missing something? It would be great to turn the G into GPE or use an official / stable build of CM on it.
Future Proof: Well, spec-wise the G2. Software-wise I think they're in the same boat given their age.
Other: Splash resistance on the G is nice; double tap to wake the G2 is nice
Cost: Both are around $200 on Amazon, the G2 averaging about $20 more.
My Moto X Pure is biting the dust.. the charging port is failing and it charges super slow with the stock charger. No other charger works with it anymore.
I need a sub $300 phone with stock android and expandable memory which will work on the Verizon network. Should I get a Moto X4 as a replacement? Or should I wait a few more weeks for a G6?
I have two Moto G Pro phones. One has received a notification for Android 11 download but the other one hasn’t? Any have any idea why one but not the other?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Moto G Pro(european variant of the G Stylus). I'm currently on T-Mobile in the US, so I would like to have band 71 for any phone I use. Can anyone confirm whether or not the G Pro has band 71? I mainly want to try the G Pro in the US to get NFC. Thanks.
The Moto G Stylus 2020 does not have NFC. Are you saying the Moto G Pro (European variant of the G Stylus 2020) has NFC?

From what I can tell from the spec sheet of the moto g pro, it apparently does. It also does not mention any band 71, so I suppose that answers my original post. Would it be possible that the G Stylus has NFC, but it just isn't activated in software?
I've read elsewhere here the G Stylus 2020 doesn't have NFC hardware but it does have Band 71.

So at this point, the question I want to ask is: Given that the G Stylus and G Pro are close hardware-wise, would it be possible to mod in NFC onto the G Stylus, or vise versa(band 71 support to the G Pro)? Im hoping the G Stylus has unpopulated contacts that I could stick a G Pro frame on to get NFC(assuming I can find a frame from a G Pro).
Like I said it's been said the hardware for NFC isn't installed on the G Stylus 2020. Idk about Band 71 hardware on the G Pro.
