Hello XDA community, My n971n device has a strange problem about S Pen. The S pen is writing nearly 15 mm below from where it should be at the top of the screen. When I hover the s pen from the bottom to the top of the screen it's starting at the normal position at the bottom of the sreen with no distance. Then the distance between the pointer and the tip of the s pen is increasing gradually from the bottom to the top of the screen. The last Quick command menu item at the bottom of the screen is also out of screen. The touch function without the s pen is normal. I feel that the shell application using a bigger sreen rate such as note 10+ screen when using the s pen. I tried with a friend's normally working s pen with my Note 10 and the result is the same. So the s pen is not to be blamed and the problem is about the shell application I think. Factory reset did not solved the problem. I have root access and I am thinking to reset or delete and reinstall the shell application about s pen but I don't know where to find it. Any help highly appreciated.
Galaxy Note S-Pen Calibration [Fix S-PEN touch position]
Greeting I recently had issue with my spen. During rooting and rom changing, S-Pen started to face calibration issue. Touch of S-Pen was little bit to right than it was supposed to be. Following, I am showing guide on how did I fix my issue...

Hello, thank you for the solution you forwarded. It worked wery well! Now the s pen is pointing and writing as it should be. However the Quick lauch menu is the same. Only the half of the last icon at the bottom which is a plus icon adding items to the menu can be seen. And another issue is s pen disconnected and never connecting again. I tried to reset many times bu not connecting. Is there a solution for this too?
Try calibrating the display.
Spen's get funny if not used for a long time. Keep playing with it.
You can try a network reset.

Can somebody help me please, I tried installing a cab of the HTC Action Screen app from the touch dual on my Herald, after installing I noticed that the top right corner of my screen was not responding to my stylus taps. tried realigning the screen still no joy.
So I uninstalled the app but I still have the screen alignment issue, is there anyway to fix this without a hard reset?
sorry if this is posted in the wrong section as I didnt know if this was just a herald problem or if everybody had this problem?

It could be an old issue with a new device. Back in the day of PPC's it was found that some screen protectors slid under the case of the touch screen causing the screen to not respond appropriately. If you have recently put on a new screen protector or removed one, check the area just beyond the location where it is not responding. You might find something holding the screen down permenantly causing it to not respond. If there is nothing there and none of the things are present, I too am at a loss.
Just an idea.
Did you try a soft reset to remove the remnants of the application you removed?
@Just about right
Dont think it is the screen protector as I have had the same one on since I bought the device (almost a year now) without any problems.
@wovens
yep tried that
Ineterestingly if I open notes and tap the screen I get a dot in the right place, if I tap the top right corner it draws a vertical line downwards from the top right to the bottom. In the meantime what I have done is run the screen alignment, placed the styles in the middle of all '+' except the one in the top right corner. For the one in the top right corner I aimed a little lower than the centre, this allows me to click the X in the top right with the stylus if I aim above the box. not ideal but it will do for now as I dont have the time to reset this week...
So my Asus has an option where you can lock the bottom bar so you don't accidentally open the setting menu or press back during games/movies.
I want something similar for my Note10 as when using S-note my palm sometimes sits on the bar and opens the menu which is very annoying! This isn't a palm detection issue within the S-note app it's just a general Android tablet issue.
Anyone got any ideas?
Acctually, when your s-pen is hovering on your screen, your screen is automatically locked from your hand touch
correct me if I'm wrong
Dam you're right. I guess the issue happens when I lift the pen too high and still lean on it. Might need to adjust my writing style.

You can use air view pointer as indicator is your pen too high or not..

Hello. So i made the switch to the S10e and i've been running into this issue where if i accidentally hold my phone with my finger just touching the selfie camera (or any part of the status/notification bar at the top of the screen), any and all other touch inputs just get disabled.
Any solutions to this? I assume Android thinks i'm going to pull it down and disables every other touch or something, but is there an option not to do that but still keep the draggable status bar? This also happens in all apps and the home screen/apps etc. no matter the screen.
Activating Show Taps in developer shows that the OS DOES see both my taps, the status bar and anything else, just that the software-side blocks other inputs once that initial status bar touch is seen and still active. It does NOT happen with the back/home/apps bar or generally anywhere else. I have tried making sure Nova launcher isn't doing anything. Tried Accidental touch protection On and Off and a host of other settings. Confirmed this is a status bar issue with hiding it in Samsung Internet and repeating the test.
Tried EdgeTouch with NiceLock but it only really helps for the sides which aren't really my issue.
Rarely this sometimes happens with stuff on screen too in the OS itself and in apps. Usually it's with triggering a function like holding the phone with touching the left hand of the screen and accidentally 'dragging' a menu' into view a few pixels, and then that disables all other input until it's gone. But that's fine since it's very rare. It's more more often than the status/notification bar is my main issue.

Do you use a case? That's what help'd me with accidental screen touches. An "ultra slim" case was all it took for me. Hope you find what works for you.
I am really against cases, as i really want a compact fone, and there are extremely few which get launched with AMOLED nowdays. I'd rather solve this via software.

Hello,
I've recently bought a Lenovo P11 tablet to take notes. When drawing with a pen, however, I have this problem (and I have verified it by enabling touch detector in developer options): when I lay the pen/finger on the screen, there is an area (I would say 2-3 cm) where the cursor doesn't move even if I move the pen. When I exit that area, a line gets drawn between where I started and where I arrived, but this is wrong as I may have drawn curves in the middle of the two.
This leads to two things:
* When I want to draw something rounded (like a "2"), the upper part gets drawn as a line unless I draw it very big.
* When I want to draw something small, only a dot gets drawn because I didn't leave the "area" and therefore didn't trigger the cursor.
Now I am pretty sure this is a software problem, as if it were a problem with the screen this wouldn't happen only at the start of the line.
Also, I'm sure this is not because of the application I'm using (OneNote), as I've tested with the developer options to show the cursor and in any place in the OS, when I start drawing, the cursor is stuck at where I've begun.
Anyone can help?
Thanks.

was it a solution?
Good morning,
For several weeks I have been observing and unfortunately the problem appears more and more often, the disappearance of the touch of the display ...
I am right-handed, so I use the phone a lot with my right hand on the right edge - at the height of my thumb, the connection between the keyboard and the communicator, once in a while my touch in the area of the p/0 and park buttons above - also other keyboard buttons do not work properly, keys next to it.
I use Swiftkey but never had a problem with it - could it be the keyboard that's the problem?
hardware issue, send it in for RMA asap
RMA u mean to samsung support?
Hi,
Samsung support is very stubborn (compared to dell which is very pro-customer).
I received the following advice:
1. Turn off the phone, enter the android menu and clear the cache - done.
2. Through samsung members, attach the error log from the phone and report the problem - I did.
I wonder what Samsung's next steps will be.
I have had the phone since October 22.
The problem with the screen appears more and more often.
*video* In the attachment I leave a video that scrolling (of a previously loaded page) just at the moment when the display goes crazy - as you can see (touch trace) I try to scroll in a classic way by moving my finger on the screen, but the page moves only as much as I move my finger, as if something somewhere causes an additional touch to stop scrolling. As you can see in the next part of the video, it improves for a while and then the same thing again.
Anyone had similar? How did it end?
Thanks greetings.
