Looking for help in reverting back to android 11 - General Questions and Answers

Hello everyone, I currently have a Samsung note 10 plus and just updated to Android 12 and it has completely ruined my home button and my recent button and my home screen. Is there a way to revert back to android 11? Or am SOL. I'm still trying to find a way to fix the current issue but haven't found anything as of yet. Thanks in advance

Use this if you can, works in Android 9 and 10.
Check Samsung settings too as Samsung tends to retain nav buttons in spite of Google's insanity.

Depends on the bootloader version. I think some here have rolled back but not sure if you can.
First thing I do is disable OTA updates. My N10+'s are running on 9 and 10.

Ahhh, well no luck for me on the good lock option. So how can I find my bootloader version? It's either a flash or I'll have to get a replacement phone

Understanding Firmware naming:
N986USQU1ATGM
N=Note
986U or F etc, the model of device
SQ, FX etc = CPU and model specific
U,S,E = Update, Security, Engineering, respectively
1,2,3,4,5 etc = bootloader revision (This is important! You cannot go to a previous revision)
A,B,C,D = Android version
T, U = Year (T=2020, U=2021 etc)
A,B,C etc = month (January A - December L)
1 - 9 and then A - Z =build compilation. This basically means how many builds there are in a month. They start at 1 and go to Z
So N986USQU1ATGM would be
N968-U-SQ-U-1-A-T-G-M
N968U (Note 20 Ultra Carrier version), SQ (Snapdragon), U (Update), 1 (Bootloader version), A (Build 10), T (2020), G (July), M (22nd build)
Significant digit, in this case it's a 2. This
my Android 9 variant:

You're welcome.
It's a lot easier just to lock down updates. My Android 10 variant might run slightly better but the differences between them is slight. Security has never been an issue on either one.
Try a factory reset if you haven't. You should do one with a major upgrade. May be some of the problem.

I' have done the process throu the Flash tool but now I only foun rom to load from TWRP.
Problem is that now the phone only show the lines on the screen no matter if it is a normal start or a recovery start or even a bootloader.
But I still have acess to the phone via flashtool.
How can I recover the phone ?
Can you help me to find the complet packaged to make a complete unbrick ?

If you search here and on the net, in general, lots of people are very disappointed with the realme ui 1.0 upgrade.
Like many others, I've upgraded and the battery life has dropped around 20%, at least.
Not sure if RMX1971_11_C.02 or RMX1971_11_C.03, that some people are eligible to download, solves the issue.

Nooo!!! Please do not update it!! It'll ruin your mobile!! So many bugs and the worst part is you will not be able to downgrade it!!
What bugs are we talking about, I've had UI 1.0 for a week and haven't had any issues, other then not being able to use my own messaging app, but that was the same with ColorOS 6. UI will actually let me run Nova Prime where ColorOS 6 wouldn't let me allow to set to default. Running Q CN model.
I'm not having any issues at all. Its better than color os for sure. And the battery backup has also increased.

No issues at al except it removed themes app for good.
Hi everyone,
I am currently using the Global ColorOS port for the Realme Q.
If you are on Realme UI (Chinese ROM) for this phone, can you confirm how does the GAPPS work?
I want to upgrade to RealmeUI, but I don't want to fight with the chinese apps, prefer jsut to get the old gapps
just one question guys. i am still on colors os an didnt get the update yet (germany/europe). when I flash the ui 1.0 over it manually, with realme recovery and the official file from the website.
is this then a dirty flash which keeps data and apps?

Yes off course, your data and app save. you can flashing firmware other region to your device without worry lose data and app.
I'm trying to install the Q update downloaded from the Realme website (https://www.realme.com/eu/support/software-update), but it keeps failing, both from the file manager and recovery. How do I even install this update, or should I skip it because it's bad.
I have problem with update to android 10, I was downloaded this file RMX1971EX_11_OTA_1040_all_XObW6afyijrq.ozip (var. C.04 but same with C.01) from realme website and if I try to install from the file manager it does not start updating only opens form with decompress option (instead of start updating).
If I try to install from recovery it runs abous 1-2 sec and after that writes Innstalation failed. Is it something what I'm doing wrong?
So I found solution, when I bought 5 pro a had version colorOS A.09. No OTA update available. Manual update to realmeUI wasn't working (file manager, recovery). I must download last version of colorOS A.17 and installed that (file manager worked) and after that I can update to realmeUI C.04 (file manager). So I hope that this info can help someone who struggled with update like I did.

Hi, maybe it is late but anyway I am telling you: I used Global Port in Realme Q, it already has gapps, and when I dirty-installed RUI official, the system preserves gapps so you don't have to install them and they work fine, at least this is my case so if you try and it doesn't work, please, don't kill the messenger.
Good luck

S10e Official Android 11 is here and it Rocks !

As some of you may know s10e new stockfirmware has rolled out..or at least for some exynos versions, SM-G970F in my case.
Just so you are aware: the Maj doesn't seem to be on OTA yet and so i used the well known Samfirm software to get it.
Then I flashed it with ODIN and I was done. (Coming from custom).
The only official android 11 yet is from Switzerland (Global Version)
From SamFirm
--This firmware has version number PDA G970FXXU9ETLJ and CSC G970FOXM9ETLJ. The operating system of this firmware is Android 11 , with build date Tue, 29 Dec 2020 08:41:15 +0000. Security patch date is 2021-01-01, with changelist 20607146. --

So you know just 2 things: 1: Battery has drastically improved 2: The rom has been cleaned of many bloatwares by samsung itself
The benchmark results are really impressive:
- 3Dmark tells me that i outperform 100% of any tested s10e devices and that any existing android 11 models (that are probably on customs) have a score 100 pts lower than me.

To conclude I ll just say that finally we have an official rom that makes this phone great. Excellent performance and finally really good battery life! And almost...free of bloatwares
Thanks for the info!
Is there a way to make the phone think it's in Switzerland in order to receive the update right now as well?
No, even travelling to Switzerland wouldn't help ;-)
You can download the firmware by using Frija oder Samfirm Reborn (set CSC to 'AUT') and afterwards flash it with ODIN.
Thanks, I can confirm the high score on this benchmark with stock android 11!
I flashed this rom via odin. Everything is fine, but I noticed that I couldn't enter recovery mode. I tried volume up + bixby + power button, then I tried volume dwn + bixby + power button. Nothing seemed to work. Before upgrade on android 10 I could enter recovery mode via first combination.
At least I was able to enter recovery via ADB.
i ve read it somewhere, but you need to have an USB cable connected to enter recovery now, give it a try.
Thanks for the first impression. Can you please say something about the handling of the Bixby Button, can you still put any other app on it? Also, does the dual screen feature work like before? I assume that cloned apps via the secure folder are still working, too?
Android 11 DBT and ROM CSC are available via SmartSwitch right Now, just checked and downloaded on Frija.

Yes you can still assign any app to the bixby button and split screen is also working as in OneUI 2.5. I do not use secur folders so I cannot answer your 3rd question.

I'm using odin but fail
Best thing: the share menu works again. it was broken in One UI 2.
The new integrated password fill in keyboard is nice too.
Anything else is not that impressive to me. I don't like the new animation effect when pulling the notifications down.
Can i downgrade from Android 11? It seems to be less possibility than 9
ODIN can us for downgrade from 11, or it is bricked the phone?
Can someone confirm if the Gear VR still works with the S10e on One UI 3.0? Thanks in advance.
Using two bluetooth speakers at once was broken in one ui 2.0.
Do we know if it's back in 3.0?
I have the g9700 here despite I'm in Spain.
Hopefully we're getting the update soon.
Love this phone as if it was the first day owning it lmao.

Question Downgrade build android Samsung S22 Ultra

Just a simple question. Is it possible? Downgrade build android Samsung S22 Ultra? I have been googling and so far almost no info about this. I have the mode; sm-s908u1 which I believe is unlocked, I can use any carrier.
Any info will be much appreciated.
Extra: I just want to downgrade to continue enjoying the call recording.
You are limited by the bootloader version to how far you can roll back.
You can go to the same or higher significant number but not lower.
And will most likely need to do a factory reset I tried it and was able to downgrade but had to factory reset.

Always completely backup critical data before you mess with the firmware...
Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer me. So sad that I won't be able to do it. I am tired of samsung. I did a full backup and I gonna try anyway if it works I will let you know.

If that version is what came with the phone when new, no.
If it was a latter OTA update, probably yes.

Not on a stock Samsung. The bootloader has to be unlocked as it's version is what dictates what roms can be loaded.
You can load the same or higher rev version as the bootloader but not lower.
In my case "2" is that critical value. I can flash Android 9 or higher. If a OTA upgrade flashes the bootloader to a higher version you're stuck with it. One reason I disable OTA upgrades/updates.

Exactly. It seems sort of convoluted at first.
This is another useful article on Android partition structure in general.
One rule that serves me well is this...
Rule #1 - if the firmware is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission, let it be!
Anything Android version in general that is 9 or higher is reasonably secure unless you do stupid things. Even if one is running the latest firmware and software upgrades/updates... there's no saving dumb bunnies
Upgrades/updates can and do break Samsung's.
If a OTA firmware upgrade updates the bootloader version you are stuck with it. Look before you leap...

Question LE2115_11_F16 (Android 13) is here

Hi everyone,
Still new to OnePlus and its update/upgrade cycle, so sorry if you already know this, but my 9 just got updated to 2115_11_F16 and Android 13, with the October 2022 security update.
That's it, that's the tweet...
EDIT: it's still the October security update. Build is date November 3rd, hence the mistake.
Nice find, move to custom ROMs
I think I'll wait a little before I do that! I'm happy with OOS as it is, especially when compared to One UI or even MIUI. But I'll keep your advice in mind for future consideration! ;-)
Update is out now.
.....let´s see how it works......
OOS 13 is good, used it since beta 1, hopefully this stable release is as good as beta.
How is OOS 13 compared to OOS12?
OOS12 seemed worse than OOS11

OOS 13 seems really good, despite it feeling not-that-stock. Still a lot better than the buggy OOS 12 (which i hated so much that i moved to ColorOS 12 for). Still testing battery life but it seems to not differ much from previous versions. I might move to custom ROMs soon though.
I have not tried OB and went from OOS 12. I have noticed the active drain is a tiny bit less and the phone does not heat up as much while gaming. So very happy with OOS 13 at this moment.

lol i found this on the "Shelf" in OxygenOS 13 and that's literally an Oppo A94
Local Upgrade for the ROM disappeared in OOS 12. Is that still gone? I have not upgraded yet, but I did find that OnePlus has this local upgrade APK. https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android13.apk
Local Install is there
(it was there on ColorOS 12 too)

On OxygenOS 12 local upgrade is missing. ColorOS 12 may be different, but I didn't install it.

Hi! I'm desperately trying to help my best friend who's in need. I just wanna ask, if you're claiming that you own the LE2115 model(which I discovered to be for NA/Canada), could you please confirm if your phone does in fact charge when placed on a wireless charging pad? His doesn't and it's suspicious to the point where inside his phone, the model number is LE2115, but on the box it is LE2110(Which is a Chinese variant).
Thanks in advance, i'm waiting for your reply.
