Increase night light intensity beyond defaults - General Questions and Answers

I have a rooted phone and I really like the Night Light feature, but I think it's lacking at times. When you compare it to f.lux it isn't very strong at all... Is there any way to increase the night light intensity in settings beyond the default limit when you have root? I know how to make brightness reaaally low but not night light.
Android Pie by the way

screen brightness

Hello,
Ive tried out the lowlight and tornadopowercontrol apps, but the problem is that "dim" is too low, and "bright" is too bright!
Is there anyway to change the backlight intensity to between "dim" and "bright"?. Or to change the values of "dim" and "bright" mean?
If these values are fixed, is there a resistor somewhere which can be swapped out to change the intensity? Does this thing use an incandescent or some sort of CFL?
THanks,
Steve

OMG I know how to increase video recording FPS to 25!!

Trust me this works, I just found this out right now and had to tell you guys. All you do is lower the brightness in the settings. You'll notice right away that as you keep lowering the brightness the framerate starts increasing. Just jitter your hand while you lower brightness.
I also strongly suggest you lower the contrast(to 1 or 2) in the camera settings to brighten up shadows.
Great. The brightness itself doesn't seem to suffer as it compensates the brightness somehow and the fps is nicceee
D: Brilliant! Well, at least that lessens my dissapointment in my TP xD
This really works. Thank you man.
I just tested it out by recording 2 videos. One at normal brightness, and one with 0 brightness.
The zero brigthness is CLEARLY more fluid. HTC you suck for not giving us good frame rates out of the box. Also lowering the brightness level doesn't seem to actually make the video much darker.
What!!? I can't believe this works!! It's awesome!
Now we just need a program to change the backlight up and down when the camera app is open/closed!
What is the framerate if you dont do this?
I made those adjustments and it makes the shadows appear VERY grainy.
Are you talking about fps in preview mode or does it actually change the fps when recording video?
Thanks.
Cool, I'll try it as soon as I get home.
do you mean i have to put brightnes to 9 o to the lower possible value (-1.5)?
TNX
is there a chance to do that in the xperia x1?
My recordings are still 18fps after doing this, but the video is much smoother when recording in low light areas (which is pretty much anywhere in-doors).

What is the round thing on the left of the ear piece?

I searched and read the manual but this is unclear.
I understand that on the right hand side of the earpiece there are front cam and notification LED embeded but what is the smaller round thing on the left side of it?
Thanks.
That is the light sensor. It does a couple of things. It adjusts the screen brightness depending on light level wherever you may be, and it will also deactivate your screen while you are in a call by sensing your face is near the receiver.
It must be a light sensor. Used to help with setting the automatic brightness. Might also be used to determine whether the ringtone mode should be set to "Pocket Mode" possibly, but that's just speculation. But it's a light sensor.
Thanks guys... I thought proximity sensor on the black area = light sensor
thats some alien thingy. it fires up laser if you stare at the device too long.

Notification sound for Battery low

Model-Sony Xperia Z3
Stock Rom/not rooted
Android - 5.0.2
Is there any way to add a notification sound when the battery becomes low and low battery mode is enabled on the phone, for instance, if the battery drops to 20% the low battery mode is activated but no notification sound notifies the change, can we attach a sound to it?

Click to collapse
I know about a full battery sound in Settings > Accessibility. Play sound when battery is full
However, this app should be able to cater for your needs - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.larryvgs.battery
Let me know how it goes
Wow, Thank you so much stanley08 this is the perfect app i was looking for, however my battery isnt low yet, except that everything else works and i know battery low notification will work too.
Thanks

Camera after emui 11 update

M30pro 5g got update to emui11.
My battery seems to drain quicker than usual and video quality seems to be more on the reddish hue than usual. tweeted here.
I miss the button above the virtual volume control which toggles between silent, vibrate and volume on modes.
Has anyone come across any other bugs so far?
I miss the toggle for switching from vibrate to sound
