Installing usb bluetooth drivers on android x86 - General Questions and Answers

I'm really hoping that someone out there can help me out with this mess I have stumbled into.
Here's the not-so-short version of a long rabbit hole I had no idea I would be travelling down:
In the new Pokémon games there is a 1/4096 chance of encountering a rarer version of said Pokémon (by default). In order to obtain one of the "starter" Pokémon in this rare form, it takes about 110 seconds of sitting through loading screens and pushing the 'A' button repeatedly, per attempt. Assuming that I am guaranteed the rare version of this Pokémon after 4096 attempts, I would have to continue this for roughly 125 hours. Unfortunately That is not how statistics actually work. Needless to say 30 to 40 hours in, I have had enough of manually pushing 'A'.
I had the bright Idea to emulate a controller, record inputs, then replay them over and over, which could connect to the actual Nintendo Switch, and so I attempted to find solutions for both my PC as well as android phone. Unfortunately without hacking my Switch, it is technically impossible to do this with the PC. The phone was a different story. An app exists currently on the play store which allows one to emulate a pro-controller and connect to the console. Perfect.
Except that app requires particular functionality which my normal phone does not have, or might have but I do not wish to root that one. My solution wound up to me attempting to emulate an android device, and connect to my switch through the emulator, using Bluetooth.
I was able to successfully set up a VM, and get android x86 running on it, but that is where my success ended. I have reached a road block in terms of getting Bluetooth to pass through my computer to the emulator. In collaboration with VirtualBox's forums, we have reached the point of believing that installing the drivers from the Bluetooth dongle may resolve our issue.
I think I have all the resources needed to do it, I just don't know the method of how. Android, VMs, and Linux are just barely outside my realm of knowledge. Can someone help me sort my puzzle pieces and figure out what I need to get it to work?

To be proactive, here are some of the resources and details I figure might be helpful.
VirtualBox thread I created explaining this situation (in a more professional tone):

Potential solution found in a few google discussions:

GitHub/potential Bluetooth driver link:
https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware
https://github.com/winterheart/broadcom-bt-firmware/blob/master/brcm/BCM20702A1-0a5c-21ec.hcd
------
Android version: android-x86-8.1-r6
Bluetooth Dongle Version: Kinivo Bluetooth receiver/transmitter (Broadcom BCM20702)
------
In my attempts to install the driver that I believe is correct, I was able to download the .hcd file listed in the GitHub link above. However my attempt to move it to /lib/firmware/brcm/ is denied, telling me that the file is Read-Only. Attempting to chmod, chown, along with other commands which I have since forgotten has resulted in no further progress. At this point my current problem is this:
How the heck do I move this .hcd file into /lib/firmware/brcm/ ? Will this even solve my issue?
tldr; I want a slightly-different colored grass turtle. I'm completely over-engineering a solution by setting up an android vm to do the work for me while I watch. Bluetooth ain't working, and I have no idea how to fix it.

[Q] Need help tracking down resource leak in WM6

At least I think it must be a resource leak. I have multiple WM6 devices that all behave the same way when my application is run. After a while, maybe 15 hours, they gradually deteriorate and refuse to start other applications. At first, it will just be an application like Opera that will not start. Eventually, things like File Explorer will also not start. When I say they won't start, I mean that I get the "not signed with a trusted certificate or one of its components cannot be found" message.
My first thought was that there was a memory leak, but according to the output of GlobalMemoryStatus, the system's memory use is not increasing over time. Then I thought that it might be storage space since I'm generating a big log file. But the storage space still sits above 60MB when this happens.
Restarting the device gets everything back to normal. So far, this is what I know:
1. I'm using the RIL. I noticed today that after about 12 hours, I stop getting RIL notifications.
2. I'm monitoring memory with GlobalMemoryStatus, but the available physical memory doesn't seem to be decreasing over time
3. The thread count remains constant for the life of the application
4. My storage space is decreasing, but there is still over 60MB available when everything starts to go wrong
5. In the end, the device winds up with the screen lock on, even though it is not configured.
It seems that there must be some kind of resource leak. The only other thing I can think of are kernel resources. I tried to rule out things like event handles through static code inspection, but maybe there's something I'm missing.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I would troubleshoot this further? I'm using VS2008 and a Tilt2 and an HTC Imagio (it happens on other devices as well).
I tracked this down to a registry handle leak. What bothers me is that I had to do it by static code inspection. I just looked for things like CreateEvent, RegOpenKeyEx, etc.
Since this didn't seem to show up as consumed physical memory, does anyone have any methods for inspecting kernel resource consumption on Windows Mobile? Do I have to rely on KITL and Platform Builder with the emulator? I'm hoping that there's some way I diagnose this kind of problem with a real device. From my perspective, the device just started to fail and there were no external indicators to warn me of the impending failure.

[Q]PLEASE HELP ME(Cpu, android, apple) reward is possible. TRIED VERYTHING.. :(

Hello, I am seeking advice/help...
I can see by looking and reading some of your writings and posts that yours and others time is worth alot... I am not sure on how much I could spend as I have already lost funds and had my bank accounts hacked. However I will gladly see what I can do if someone can hopfully help me...
I have been without proper internet for well over a month now.. I have changed my wireless routers out twice even added in a AP(hardware firewall)... My internet provider also suppliea optik TV and that is all ran through the same router.
At first I noticed some new programs would appear, things would be moved around some things would go missing... it was very unnoticeable unless you were paying attention.
Then the windows start up acreen would freeze for 5 minutes sometimes almost as if somethinf had froze the screen so that I wouldn't be able to see whats happening(Basically started getting worse - passwords being changed on me etc... - would lose my elevated privledges almost as if I was just a guest account)...
I even tried using CMD in dos to get my permission settings back and at first this would work but then the dos/cmd commands(whoami / ICACLS / and a few other commands would not work and say they don't exist... I also started to notice the size of my harddrive change.. I was never able to get it back to the right amount of GB. I tried to restore it many different methods as well (win7, linux, dos) nothing worked.. I then also noticed the MBR would constantly become corrupt and same with the hard drive.
So I looked into things and figured it must be the bios or cmos.. I tried to flash it and just decided I would start from scratch... However, everytime the computer restarts the old cmos/bios is back. I then also found things saved on (A: , B: and X) ... They were all write protected so I decided to pull the hard drive out. They still showed up even if I had the hard drive removed.
** X: is the boot drive as well so every time I tried to reinstall anything a bunch of extra files would get installed as well**
**Drive B had a volume named RamDrive..**
I ran some system/ tests in dos on the memory and kept getting errors but would not tell me what the problem was I finally figured out that it was a system error because the range went higher(above the 4gb that it's supposed to be)..
Now 4 laptops ruined... I just got a new laptop (win8.1) was never used and had never been turned on and after the initial startup/setup had extra software etc and now is stuck in infiniti boot loop....
Also similar stuff has happend or is happening with fax/printer, pvr, tv, ipad, iPhone, Android, wii, ps3, ps4.. dvd player, basically all media devices and anything wireless..
I have seen lots of evidence on remote connections through IOT, P2P/PHP, IPv4, IPv6, ssl, http(local group/work group) now it seems like things are communicating through a technique called air hopping or coupling. (RF, NFC, WIFI, IR, GPS/GSM, RFID, Altel Bluetooth and a few others). **I can remove the wireless card and laptops still connect**
They even got into a desktop computer that has no wirelsss or bluetooth card... and never gets plugged into the internet. Odd internet type numbers started calling my house phone also my house phone if I unplugged it etc... then powered it back up and didn't set date or time it would reset itself... The play stations would turn on and off them self... I tried reformattibg and missing a huge amount of GB.
Also, money was taken out of bank account as well.... anyone who goes to where this all is happening there cell phones get infected tooo... it seems to update tbe phones in fhe form of a push update aka broadcast signal.. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated...
another thing i noticed was files like index.dat/index.ini... desktop.ini. doubles of everything in my registry... and the fonts i couldnt change or delete... i noticed files from other devices listed on my phones and vice versa for things listed on the computer... if this isnt the right place for this i apolohgize...
also it appears as if my phone is rooted.. judging by the files and folders that are on my phone but it says not rooted. there is apps installed that i didnt put there and cant remove without being rooted.. my phones are constantly connected. factory reset doesnt work anymore... Neither does wipe cache. also constantly streaming data even if data is off and airplane mode. i keep seeng something about a 299-amtel.. redirect in any and all browsers...lots of adware as well.
im not even sure i will be able to ge back on here... if not you can try emailing me [email protected]... i appreciate any and all help.. thank you and sorry for the grammer juat trying to type this as fast as possible.
Your MEANINGLESS title is discouraging people from helping you.
Please at least use a simple sentence to summarize your problem in your title.
Anyway from what you're saying, you should report to the police, or if you have some friend with network and PC knowledge, ask him for help.

Security to phone, computers, email, entire network is compromised

My question or rather my pleed for answers does not just pertain to android os but I have relied on this site for many answers and have always found a solution just from searching around on here so I know there are very capable members on this site that can help. My problem began over 4 months ago when my home computers were compromised. I assumed it was just a simple virus but soon learned that someone had actually hacked into my home network for what I believe is or was an attempt to retrieve trade secrets. Shortly after i realized that data was being sent to someone through the fax system on my pc and data distribution software had been installed along with a large amount of .dll and legacy items, The admin rights were taken from me and the registry was completely modified which disabled me from having any permissions and kept me from doing anything on the pc. I went out and purchased a new router, got out an older pc, and I put a password of around 20 mixed numbers and letters. 5 minutes after I had set up the new router and pc I noticed through the network map that there was someone else on what I assumed was a secured network. The router was a netgear. First thing I done was change the default password and block any remote access in the network wizard. My next step was to pay the so-called experts (Geek Squad) to solve the security issue. I purchased their 1 month special that entitled me to 1 month of tech support and 3 free pc fixes. after purchasing a windows 7 restore disk I took 3 pc's to a local Geek Squad location to have them restore the Pc's and install what was suppose to be a hack proof software. They only fixed 1 pc, told me the software would keep the hacker out. 5 minutes after i logged into my network here comes all the windows updates (around 50) along with numerous programs. Needless to say I lost my admin rights within an hr. Here we are now, only using cell phones on my network and I am sure the hacker is retrieving my data off of my g vista d6301. My new email that I set up and have only used from the vista has been compromised and although no logins appear in the history but my vista, someone had enabled POP on Dec 28th. I have enabled the developer mode on my phone which allows me to view the process stats. It states that google play service runs 100% and Google Cloud Messaging runs 100%...I have never used any cloud service on this phone. Another thing is that certain system apps that I have never activated are accumulating a decent amount of data. This phone is used only for wifi and has no service plan attached. bluetooth, email, qrtunnel, near field communication all turn on from time to time. Google play also shows something called clearcutlogger running but was unable to find any info on that. I also installed a mic block that has a "spying app catcher" that logs when a app uses your phones mic while the phone is in sleep or idle mode. when the app is on block mic then there are no problems but when I unblock the mic I get countless log entries that an app with net access has gained access to my mic. Its always the same few apps that show up as a potential culprit so I cant pinpoint exactly what app is using the mic. not sure if any of this has anything to do with someone messing around with my phone, just trying to think of some of the things that could help. There is no doubt that this phone along with a pile of now useless computers have indeed been compromised. What I really need help with is how to get this bastard out of my life and secure my network before the new semester begans b/c there is no way I can have my daughter use her new pc on the network knowing its just going to end up like the rest of computers in my new pc graveyard. I know there are quite a few other sites I could have reached out to but there is something about the comradery on this site that has always drawn me to it. 1 more thing fellas, how bout that one touch root for the LG G Vista D6301's? that sure would come in handy right now lol. My apologies for the long read. Any details you need to know to try and help me figure things out, I would gladly assist as long as my knowledge permits.
I understand that the question or article that I posted is quite vast so I will start off with this simple question. Is there a server that I can disable in the LG hidden menu to stop unauthorized use of my GCM, or any other way than simply just disabling Google Play? I have read a couple of recent articles on how hackers are utilizing gcm to gain access to personal info. I just was curious about the server b/c I see many different server acc in the hidden menu such as ATTLABa, Cingular, Mformation, and Funambol. I wasnt sure if these servers or acc could possibly help or be a potential threat.

First thing you have to be sure that no one has physical access to your gadgets. Second, find a router suitable to be modified with new firmware from http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/index or https://openwrt.org/.
In case you can buy a hardware network firewall and with proper installation and settings you should be able to keep away any threat.
A good idea would be to use a good VPN service, that way you can add a layer of security on your networking habits.
Lastly, check this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/security/tuto-how-to-secure-phone-t2960077 and if you have any question, ask there.

IoT Cloud Software/Hardware MDM assistance

Hi There,
I want to start off by saying I hope I am not crazy and I apologize from the get go if I misrepresent my issue in error.
I believe someone has flashed MDM software to my android device. I would like to know if I am either going crazy over nothing or would like some assistance in diagnosing what the possible issue could be. I believe it to be something similar to Murata Ayla Cloud software kit. This person would have had access to all of my Cell phones, Raspberry Pi's and Computers.
I started to suspect something when applications would become installed on my device(ones I did not install obviously). I Started to notice XML /*.SH files appearing, Samsung Knox (which I have been on a custom rom such as AICP, DU, literally the day I get any new device so I have never had Knox or any Samsung apps). My device also started to download apps for another mobile carrier and in my CSC information now shows the incorrect carrier code. My root seems to always stop working (literally just locks up when I open it, even if I remove and reinstall it works briefly) and my Wi-Fi mac address suddenly became 00:02:00:00. So I decided to flash back to stock firmware and try a different rom. Long story short, I compared the Rom files and original backup to the files on my device several days later after minimal use. I noticed a lot of .sh files loaded in the root DIR as well as container agents, MDM agent running, MDM enrollment app.
I then noticed odd things on my PC's, like windows firewall always allowing Xbox service, media server, Miricast and a bunch of other things. I can see UPNP is enabled on the routers and is what is configuring my win RM. So I did some wiresharking and found a Fortinet server with a Murata mac oui on layer 3. I also ran some logs to see devices plugged in to my USB ports and found several samsung CSC/Modem drivers + a log that implied something about serial port /EMMC programming. I also found several apps that I have never used or even heard of. (QLAtool, ReadnWrite tool, GN Qcom download tool). I also checked several of my other phones and it appears that they all have the same serial number and device name. I have never flashed my devices with the incorrect backups. The home network is not mine but I asked the other people wthin the house but they state they do not know anything........
No matter what I do (flash/factory reset etc), the XML files/sh files slowly download after I leave my device connected to the internet. Several of them reference open sim alliance/virtual usb-BT proxies/media server and virtual devices. There are so many MDM apps/embedded controllers/KVM's/Hypervisor/HCE - Knox dev kits I can't determine which it is.
I would desperately like to have my privacy back or know that I am not crazy. Is there anyone who could help me identify what is happening or how to better investigate.
Thank you very much,

Looking for thoughts and suggestions...

I am hopeful I can get pointed in the right direction here in the forums... I currently manage information screens for my church, which has 3 campuses around the city. Every week, I drive to the locations, with updated content on a USB Thumb-drive, which I plug into the USB port on the Western Digital Live TV boxes attached to monitors. I then play the videos in a continuous loop until I update the file the following week by inserting a new thumb-drive with the week's MP4 video announcements. I want to set up a solution that will allow me to update these files remotely every week. When I first set up my current solution, I went through several android tv boxes, before settling on the WD live TV box. I ran into issues with the Android boxes not powering up automatically after a power outage, or not starting the video loop if they did come back up. The WD does not have WiFi and does not have local storage, so will not work for my purposes, although they are VERY reliable and don't seem to be affected by the power outages. Cost is a big factor in my decision so please keep that in mind. I am currently leaning towards something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Astro-Tab-A1...0&linkId=cd28feb9fd57773cd3d44ed5abdfd485#Ask My thoughts being that it will have a built-in battery backup in case of a power outage, seems to have plenty of horsepower to do the minimal task of playing a continuous video loop, and hopefully has a reliable enough WiFi antenna so that I can remotely connect to it to do weekly updates. I am also looking for suggestions for tools I can use to connect to the tablet/tv box to upload the new video file and then start the loop playing again. I know Team Viewer is an option, but want to know what else is out there that might work. I am open to any suggestions anyone might have in regards to this project. Also, when I was testing the Android TV boxes, at least on one occasion (I believe it was a Minix Neo X7), I was able to get the loop running and it was fine for a number of days, but would crash. Would restart it and it ran approx. the same length of time. It's been a while since I dealt with it, but seems I recall there may be some sort of cache that builds every time the video loops until the cache fills and crashes the player---I'm NO expert, but that is what I recall from my research at the time. Again, any help is appreciated!
