ADB question - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I was trying to find out how to add / force icons on status bar. Everything is just talking on how to hide them.
I am trying to add Wi-Fi calling and volte icons on the status bar. There is no option under display / icon manager to turn it on, like I have on 6T. Not sure if this is T-Mobile stupidity removing this or all 7T have same restriction. Please note wifi calling and volte are activated and working - confirmed. It is just icons that I am missing.
I tried using systemui tuner in it it shows that volte and vowifi icons are turned on. It seems that T-Mobile is blocking it and unfortunately this phone cannot be converted to international version.
Phone: Rooted OP7T Pro 5G McLaren (T-Mobile) (latest update).
So million dollar question is... Is there an option to force it with command through ADB, as mentioned phone is rooted.
Thank you guys.

think it's not possible

May you should switch to a custom rom.

VOLTE Three UK

Has anyone got this working, the icon is enabled but it's not showing up.
Volte only works iff you buy a volte compatible phone from 3 shop. It has to be one of there phones or its blocked. Unlike on O2 iff the phone is volte compatible it even works with some of there pay as you go phones. For this reason i am going to leave 3 after my contract finishes.

My last phone was a phone not sold in the UK but that worked?
Which phone was it and where did you buy it I know for a fact that any phone which has volte but not bought through 3 store will have the volte IMS service blocked because you need there version of Android firmware for it to work. I have had many arguments with 3 customer support over this.
the Volte and Wifi Settings are blocked by OP in their official firmware because they need the carrier to allow the settings on their phones. Some Asian imported phone manufacturers sometimes disobey them and allow it but this is not the norm.
Have you noticed that when you put in a sim from a major operator in the uk the internet/mms etc settings are usually auto configured?
three for example, configure their sims to block any 'non authorised' phone to auto download the required settings to enable wifi calling and volte.
This means that the only way of bypassing it (a bit like Sammy csc changing) is if there is a custom ROM available with the three settings pre loaded. EE are the only network that are essentially a 'slut' and allow their settings to (on the most part) be uploaded to any compatible phone.
I get 100 gig a month, unltd calls and text from Three for a ridiculously low £15 per month. I WILL NOT give that up !!!!
as much as i want an OP6 im sticking with a tried and tested Samsung S9 plus that to be frank is just as fast on the most part, and you can easily load three or whatever branded software to enable all the wifi calling and volte goodies.
O2 allow this also. The only real way to get volte working on a non 3 handset is when 3 release there factory stock images eventually and they can be flashed after rooting. Even with custom roms volte will not work for instance lineage etc although volte is implemented still doesnt work. I had bought a lenovo p2 a few years ago and volte did not work for a whole year untill 3 factory images were released and i rooted the phone and installed the 3 firmware then it started working. 3 are real scumbags in this regard.

all u need to get three volte working is essentially the ims settings, ive seen people being able to get three volte and wifi calling working on various grey imports. But agreed its a very convoluted process.
All one plus's use their own firmware, they dont have carrier versions like samsung and others ...
That is correct the only way oneplus would have volte settings is iff 3 sold oneplus on contract otherwise it is a difficult process. I would be very interested nevertheless iff someone in the future figured out a way to get volte working on a non 3 phone other than using there firmware. By the way i am not a oneplus owner but in fact i have a xiaomi mi6 but i am in the same boat ref volte.

Unfortunately, I was able to flash the H3G firmware onto my Italian source S8 and use both VoLTE and VoWiFi without ever speaking to Three, same applied to the unbranded S9 I got from CPW SIM free!

I have access to a OP5T and VoLTE and VoWiFi both worked out of the box!
My Pixel 2 - not a chance!
It's easy my dude, there are some bugs with it but hey you can't have both of the best world just yet.
Tutorial : Open Magisk - > Go to Downloads - > Search for VoEnabler - > Reboot - > Activate the VoWiFi and VoLTE in the settings. - > SUCCESS.
Bugs? Only bug I found is that every time someone calls you it will say Unknown (While on VoWiFi, haven't checked on VoLTE yet.)
Let me know how you get on
Three VoLTE working here too using Vo Enabler.
Sorry i am in the weird situation although im not a oneplus 6 owner. I have a xiaomi Mi6 and i used the module voenabler and now i can make calls over wifi but the enhanced Lte option in settings has vanished completely and in the 4636 settings the option for wifi calling became available but the volte option is now greyed out.
I have got VOWIFI working on 3 with pie, I upgraded to 9.0.0 then did this
Dialled *#800#
Went into OnePlus logkit
Went into Function Switch and checked VOWIFI and VOLTE then rebooted
The options now appear in SIM settings and you can turn them on or off.
When I installed 9.0.1 the Function switch options had been removed but as I had already turned them on the SIM options persisted On installing 9.0.2 the Function Switch settings had returned but with a dev test warning.
I have entered airplane mode, turned on WiFi then made and received a call.
The 3 IMS was automatically configured
And some screenshots
I was able to active vowifi but volte is not registering, I did notice that when I connect to WiFi a do a call and during the call I disconnect the WiFi volte start working but only on that call after the call finish it discomect and goes back to no volte. This is on three UK with Pie using the logkit.
@crazdgrunt99 does volte still works for you using the vo enabler?
Got Volte working with 3UK
I got Volte working in my OP6 with 3UK. I used the softwares mentioned here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5t/how-to/guide-volte-vowifi-german-carriers-t3817542
I only installed the softwares mentioned and used *#800# oneplus logkit to enable volte/vowifi options- after that I followed other method used by Jamal , guy who figured out these methods for OP6 (please take EFS backup before this procedure)
Open EFS explorer that is part of qpst software, select your phone , it will start loading directory and files-
Once the directory structure is loaded , go to following path - nv/item_files/modem/mmode
Open the attachment with this post. Delete all files that are same name as in the attachment from Mmode directory in EFS explorer. Note some files are not there. After deletion load the files from attachment to EFS explorer - load as item files - you can select all and load
Reboot phone and it should have Volte working.
Now that A10 is available for the OP6, I can confirm VoLTE working on both OB1 and the production version, at last. (no hacks required)
What about WiFi calling that works too

Enable the VoLTE icon when hidden by carrier

Let me start off with this, my phone DOES HAVE VOLTE and it functions correctly. My carrier (Three UK) hide the VoLTE switch in settings and have it permanently enabled, along with this hidden switch they have also hidden the VoLTE icon. I have got the VoLTE icon enabled in the icon manager. The VoLTE icon will appear for the three sim if I have VoLTE on the secondary sim (It'll show VoLTE 1+2). I was wondering if anyone had a way for me to re-enable this icon, despite the carrier settings. The phone was bought from oneplus and is fully unlocked. Thanks!

No, no. My phone DOES HAVE VOLTE THAT FUNCTIONS FINE I simply want to re-enable the volte icon as my carrier hides the actual icon itself. volte still functions perfectly fine I just want the icon.

VoWifi missing

Hi, I somehow played / messed around with my OP8T and am now no longer able to enable VoWifi and VoLTE, also 5G is not working. Both options are checked in the SIM settings and the icons are enabled in the system settings but the phone doesn't connect and the icons don't show up.
It used to work till I played around ...
I just re-flashed OOS 11.0.7.10KB05BA which didn't change anything :-(
Any suggestions?

Question Wifi Calling on OP9 Verizon

Hello, I have force enabled wifi calling on my OP9 using the downgrade logkit method, and I now see a toggle for it under enhanced communications,
However, once I toggle it after a few seconds (or exiting the page) it disables itself, I do know that my carrier/plan supports it as it worked on my previous phone.
My phone is a OnePlus 9 Global Unlocked.
Thank you, Ethan.
Ps, I am currently rooted with magisk.
Wifi calling just be available server side for the device and I don't think it's available for cdmaless phones on Verizon like the OnePlus 9

Question Wifi calling icon in notification bar

Do you know how to enable the wifi calling icon in notification bar?
Is there an adb command for that?
I have a US version U1 Ultra and I have 2 providers. a) ATT and b) Freedom (canada).
While the notification icon appears for Freedom in the notification bar and the number 2 is shown (esim), for ATT the phone
does not show any icon. Both wifi calling are active and there is no problem.
I can see the wifi calling only if I go to the dialer and see the wifi calling icon
I have done this experiment with multiple providers and phone (visible, Mint, ATT, Fido, Freedom)
It seems Samsung does not enable the wifi calling for all US companies but it does enable it for all Canadian providers
I don't understand the reason behind that. I do believe having the icon in the notification bar is way
better way to notify the user
I was wondering if there is any adb command to enable the notification for a certain provider
Does it maybe only show for the main sim in use
I'm on tmoble and I don't have a wifi calling icon on my notification bar, only way I know i'm on wifi calling is to pull down the notification panel and see if the network at the bottom says t-mobile wifi calling.
It shows only for me sim2 which is my Canadian provider. I have tried 3 US providers and it never shows any icon. I have to go to the dialer just to see the green call button with the wifi indicator.
It seems Samsung has kept hidden the icon on all US providers for wifi calling
Samsung said all unlocked s22 ultras have the icon disabled for us carriers.
trying to get a answer from tmobile to if ANYONE in the call center has a s22u and has seen this icon is like talking to a brick wall.
the only two options I see for US carriers are to make your call then look at the call screen to see if the wifi calling icon is there ON THE CALL SCREEN or pull the status bar down and look at the bottom of the notification panel.
I have a ticket in with samsung about this being unacceptable and tmobile points the finger at samsung, samsung says since its a branded phone its their fault, so they each want me to go back and forth..
Honestly, my note 9 still works fine and has better battery life. If I could unload this s22 to pay it off at this point I would. The only think I like is dark mode and the camera, the rest of the stuff works better on the note 9 running oreo.
edit - your dial button shows if you're on wifi calling or network calling. it will either be the phone or the wifi calling phone.
I guess thats how they figure people will know. shrug
Samsung unlocked phones do not display the wifi calling or volte icons for US carriers, they never have. The locked versions do.
I don't understand the reason behind that the wifi calling icon is not shown in the notification bar for US providers?
It is really useful to know that you are in wifi mode without pulling down the notification bar or going to the dialer.
Also as mentioned neither the Volte is shown. I know for sure European models show the VoLTE icon on top of the signal
but let's say here in US all or almost all providers are shutting down the 3G networks and VoLTE would be the default so I will not miss it since I know the phone it will be in VoLTE anyways
