Hi my fellow XDA people,
I recently got a Zenpad S 8.0 (Z580CA) for close to nothing and I loved the little thing. However it was still running 6.0.1 and I decided I wanted a custom ROM and root it. Starting with some guides how to unlock the bootloader I started with the whole ADB/Fastboot thing, but it got stuck and now I got a bricked device
The situation now:
Charging works fine
The tablet starts, but without the ASUS logo and immediately enters a bootloop with the following:
the Android robot with a hardhat
A USB image with the text: "No USB Cable connected!" (No matter if there is or isn't any USB cable connected)
To fix it I'm hoping to get to a recovery/droidboot menu to do a hard reset or update from SD or via a PC, but I've tried the following without any result:
Power + volume up
Power + volume down
Power + volume up + volume down
Drain the battery and one of the options above
Connecting to a PC and using adb/fastboot/asus flashtool
Unfortunately this option doesn't work, because the PC only recognizes the tablet for a second when the android man shows, but disconnects as soon as the " no usb cable connected!" is in screen.
A different Cable/PC makes no difference
I'm afraid it's really dead now, but I'm hoping anyone has an idea or finds this a challenge .

Hello Folks,
I seem to have a problem and I can't find an answer in the forums.
I rooted my Asus Transformer with Android 3.1 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1125714
I only rooted the Transformer, I didn't install CWM. Everything was working fine until my overenthusiastic wife updated the tablet with the 8.4.4.11-20110711 update. Suddenly my tablet was unrooted again. I thought "No problem, no harm's done, I'll just reinstall the stock 3.1 and then root the device once again and just leave the new update for what it is for the moment."
The problem is that I can't get into APX mode anymore. When I try to start the device with vol+ and the power button, nothing's happening. Both buttons are working fine (neither's stuck). I thought that the device might just be showing me a blank screen but when I press and hold vol+ and the power button for 5, 10 or 30 seconds then wait 30 secs and start adb.exe it says my device isn't connected.
When I press vol- and the power button I do get the option to wipe all my data and factory reset (which I tried and is working).
When I press vol- and the power button then vol+ when it's booting to get into RCK (recovery kernel mode) I get a droid image with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark. Nothing happening.
Anyone got a clue what's going on and or how I can solve this issue?
The Transformer is working fine besides not being able to get into APX mode btw. I can use it, just can't root it anymore.
same situation here, just bought my eeePad today, updated to .11 version....now trying to root but can't figure out how...
I'm having the same problem. Brand new transformer, rooted it, and now I can't get it to boot past the splash screen. Tried putting it back into APX mode, and it doesn't work. Anyone find a solution to this?
I didnt even root mine and i have this ****ing problem -.-
Same problem..
You'll notice if you watch the device manager on windows, it flashes a refresh but the device doesn't show up. Looks like it's trying to work but doesn't catch..
SSame here after using Brk's on my 3.2 B70 tf101.
Same here. 3.1, rooted, CWM.
Same here on an Asus running Android 3.2.
Serial number B60KA.
Build number on mine is 8.6.5.9-20110816.
Anyone find a solution to this?
My friends tablet is at HTK75.US-8.6.5.13-20110925 and I just got it in to APX mode.
I had the Transformer turned off and plugged in, held vol up + power until I hear the first US notification noise and released the two buttons. The searching for drivers screen came up and it installed "Nvidia Bootloader Recovery" And now my safe to eject calls it APX.
I found if you hold the power and volume up for too long it messes things up.
Any news anyone? I would love to know how to do get into APX mode. The volume + and power is not working for me like the others (did it all conceivable ways).
APX already on
Hi, I solved this problem very easy.
Just connected my eeePad, installed the APX driver after Volume up and Power on Button and it was working. You will see nothing on eeePad screen. Just check the device manager on your computer.
Hello everyone,
some days ago I flashed Android Revolution HD but shortly I've found out that the TF101 wasn't recognized anymore by my PCs. When I've inserted the stock cable the tablet turned on but nor win 8.1 64bit nor windows 7 64bit recognized it. It even hasn't appeared between the unknown devices in the related window, so I couldn't install any drivers. Then I've decided to clean cache and system on TWRP recovery and after reboot the TF101 was stuck on logo screen, the boot one, not the next one with the ASUS logo.
Now the stock cable and the stock charger still work, they charge the tablet but the charging screen doesn't appear, if I turn on the device, it shows only the first android logo with the green bar, if I try to enter recovery with volume down button, it says 'entering the recovering' but it doesn't go any further. Last chance is the APX mode, with the volume up and turn on button: I've tried it but I can't recognize if it enters APX or not, I only know that in the devices list doesn't appear any unknown device, and I'm sure that the TF101 has never been connected before to this PC. At least, if I was able to connected it in APX I would use Easyflasher and flash stock rom.
Basically now it's a bricked tablet, any help please? Someon can tell me specifically how to enter APX mode, or is it a cable issue? Is this thing called 'governor' related to this?
Received an OTA notification and installed. At last check, was at the "updating apps" stage. Went to bed. This morning, nothing. Won't turn on at all. Was plugged in all night. No splash screen, no vibration, nothing. Totally dead. Power button + Down button doesn't work. Any hope of recovery?
Update
Also getting - unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed) / code 43 when trying to plug the phone into my computer.
Did you try holding volume down and connecting phone to computer? Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, reconnect the battery, and try to power up.
If for some reason it's an issue with the bootloader, there's a backup bootloader, hold vol up + power
Also something to try is LGNPST, that can reflash stock firmware
Power button+volume down doesn't work? The device might be fried. That might also be why your PC doesn't recognize your phone, although the very fact that your PC does recognize that there is something trying to connect to it, makes me doubt my hypothesis.
I'd try to adb reboot it, I think the phone doesn't have to be turned on for that to work. Are you familiar with adb commands? That way I was able to revive my old HTC that was stuck in bootloop and volume buttons didn't work so couldn't get into recovery. Just turned off the phone, plugged into the PC and adb reboot recovery or something, don't remember the exact command line, but you can find guides about it easily.
damn ! i have the same problem after the last OTA update
Maybe it's volume up while inserting the USB cable? Can't remember as I haven't used a nexus 5 for months.
Hello, i hope i can get some help or new ideas to try out.
So first of all just to make this clear i didn't come here directly before coming here i almost punched "my" tablet.
What i want to say with that is that i searched and tried what ever i could but no success.
My Asus:
Transformer TF101G
Android Version 4.0.3
Kernel Version 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1
Build Number IML74K.WW_epad-9.2.2.6-20120525
My Problem With The Asus:
So everything is fine tablet runs it is a bit slow and applications automatically close (minimize) and get messages that the app xxx stooped working.
And when i connect to the internet the tablet starts to download from the internet apps and advertising and +18 apps so by doing this the cpu and ram is used at max and --->>>--- you can't use the tablet anymore ---<<<---
What i want to do:
Is to fully install KatKiss-4.4.4
What i tried:
1. At first i didn't had a USB cable to connect to PC so i hardly managed to install ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.1.3 but in recovery mode when i want to chose .zip from sdcard gives me an error "Can't Mount /sdcard/" = FAILED
2. Second after a while i bought a USB cable but i can't even start to try this method the first thing i have to do is to put the tablet in APX mode but it doesn't go in the stupid APX mode i press VOL up + POWER and hold for 15-20, 30,40,60+ sec but nothing removed battery tried again nothing i did VOL up + VOL down + POWER and hold for 15-20, 30, 40... sec still nothing, i went in recovery did from there all the above things and nothing also tried with tabled ON still nothing USB connected and not connected still nothing.
I have 3 computers 2 win 10 and 1 win 7, win 10 not detecting not doing any song, BUT when i plug the tablet to win 7 it makes my USB ports to stop working and i have to uninstall and give restart to my PC nothing else it doesn't show anything new in my Device Manager.
USB Cable Model OTB-DK001 Made in China from Germany 7.80€
So i think that's all for now any questions ill answer any ideas i will try except for other USB Cable unless you are 90% sure and except for using an hammer on the tablet because its not mine i guess that's why it is still in One Piece (and no not the anime One Piece).
Mhh HELP !!:highfive:
Hey all,
a couple years back I messed up this S7 where I tried to get LineageOS running on it. Phone bricked, and has been stuck on Bootloop ever since.
Now I wanted to reflash a stock image, only problem is that I can't completely access download mode.
I reach the green screen with the warning message, but I can't press Volume Up or Volume Down to do anything else. Odin doesn't recognize it either.
So I am kinda stuck not being able to connect my phone to my computer at all for debugging purposes. I also tried to the VolUp + VolDown with USB cable with no success.
If anyone has clues where I could start my debugging, that would be great. Thanks.
I do have access to the battery to unplug it.
EDIT: I somehow managed to get into Odin Mode on my phone (I dont even know how, I held the button for more than a minute), but it's still not recognized on my Desktop.
EDIT 2: I tested the cable on my second S7, so it's not the connection. My PC won't pickup the damn thing no matter what I do
