As yesterday I am just searching some apps on play store but at instant my play store closes itself automatically & screen shows application installed successfully. & then my antivirus start scanning app, it started scaning only when new apps are installed. But actually I had not installed any App/UPDATE. Also I have checked in history manahe apps there was no any new apps installed! I was just searching on playstore. & also there is no any autoupdate box is checked, means there is no chance to download update automatically without my knowledge or permission. So is it possible that someone trying to hack my phone by installing hidden apps. If yes! Then how do I check/protect. Please don't advise to do hard reset as I have so tired doing this to install all apps again & again.

Use titanium backup, make sure your only backing up apps that you know are yours. Than factory reset.

For those of you who cannot get Google now to work because you live in “Other countries", here's a fix that works for the Nexus 5 running the official Android 5.0 Lollipop released yesterday (Thursday 13th).
Here are the possible problems you ran into:
1. In Google Search's setting, you are unable to "flick on" Google Now with text "Google Now requires location services which are not available."
2. You signed out of the Google account, cleared Google Search app, uninstalled updates from Google Play Services, and signed in again. But after you click "Yes, I'm in" in you get a simple message saying "This account is not eligible for Google Now"
Be sure that your device's language is in English (United States)
Fix:
1. Download and install Market Unlocker (I am apparently a new member and not allowed to post links)
2. If your country blocks Google Play (eg. China), download SpeedVPN
3. If you are logged into Google: Settings-->Accounts-->Google-->*Click on your email*-->Three button on top right-->Remove Account
4. Go into Settings-->Apps -->Clear data for both Google Play Services and Google Search
5. Now open Market Unlocker --> Enable Unlocker (Default should be Verizon United States, if not, swipe right and choose that)
6. Turn of the phone.
7. Important: remove SIM card
8. Turn on the phone, connect to wifi, and open SpeedVPN -->Choose "United States"
9. Long press on homescreen -->Settings--> turn on Google Now
10. Log in and you should get your Google Now working.
11. Put back your SIM card
Hope it helps guys. Let me know if you run into any problems during this process.
UPDATE!
HERE'S A NEW METHOD THAT WORKS FOR LOLLIPOP ON NEXUS 5 as of February 1st 2015
This method has also been tested on Nexus 4 running Lollipop 5.0 as well. Here are the steps
1. Make sure you are rooted and have a working VPN
2. Download and install "location report enabler"
3. Run it and grant root access
4. Restart phone, turn on airplane mode with Wi-Fi on
5. Set VPN to country like America or England
6. Clear data for Google Launcher, Play services, Play store
7. Settings--> Location--> Google ----> enable location
8. Sign out of Google account
9. Back to home screen, use Google search to "remind me to buy milk"
10. Go through sign in steps
11. Back to home screen and swipe left. Voila!
Again if you have any questions please comment!

How about before step 1 you turn on airplane mode and in step 3 you uninstall updates + disable Google play services?

Same for me, I just cannot get it to work. Tried several times, also uninstalled the updates of Google Play Services. And yes, I am rooted...
I also removed my Exchange account and disabled all device administrators
When it says account not eligible and goes back to google search just make it remind something (eg - remind me to sleep in 10 minutes) before doing anything else and it should automatically enable google now and take you to google now. Worked for me and hope this helps yall

Interestingly I didn't even get to try it out.
Google Now worked after following the steps mentioned by dollarside. However, it was probably the 5th I've tried.
Might be related to Market Unlocker that didn't seem to work at first. I used the guide from here (including proxy settings) and downloaded the latest version (3.5.1). After rebooting I made sure that the app actually said Market successfully changed (I had failed before after the reboot).
Another reason could be that I used Astrill VPN before (with different US servers). The last and successful attempt was with SpeedVPN.
In the end I cannot say what helped. Being persistent turned out to be successful. This time.
it's work for me in second try without rooting or using market unlocker.
on my nexus 4 from Iran
Perfect !:good:
Works on 5.0.1
Many Thanks

Hi, can you explain what you did?
100% working solution credits to reddit user archie411.

Yay the new update (Google App 4.1.24.1672412.arm) works with the old trick I used.
The old trick if anyone needs it (Needs root) -
Install Titanium Backup. Install a File Manager and a Launcher. I used ES File Explorer and Nova Launcher.
Find and download com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-2.6.7.721924.arm version of Google Search and copy it to your phone. (Won't post the link because it's not allowed. You can find it in Androidfilehost)
Open Titanium Backup and tap on "Backup/restore". Scroll down to Google Search and tap on it. Do a backup by tapping "Backup!!" (Just in case) Then tap on "Un-Install!" (Make sure you have a different launcher installed before doing this!!")
Restart your phone.
Open the file manager, navigate to the folder where you copied the Google Search 2.6.7.721924 apk and install it. Open it and it will ask to Opt in to Google Now. Tap on "Yes I'm in".
Download and install the latest update from APKMirror Google App 4.1.24.1672412.arm.
And you are done! Feel free to remove the other launcher and file manager.
Google Play Services is the application that is required to run almost every Google Application. But many people (including me) are suffering from the problem on their phone where they are getting Google Play Services stopped working. However, I managed to solve that problem and here is the guide on how to fix that problem.
So the whole process is very simple. To help you to understand it in more simplified way, I am going to tell you step by step!
What You Need To Fix This Problem?
1. Phone in which you are facing this problem.
2. Internet Connection
3. 2-3 Minutes.
Procedure:-
Step 1:- You need to download Latest Google Services APK.
1. To do this open any of your browser
2. Search for Google Play Services APK
3. You will get plenty of results. Select any of them(I Recommend UPTODOWN) and download the 'LATEST VERSION'.
Step 2:- While its downloading, you have to make sure that Unknown Sources in Your settings is enabled. If not, you have to enable that otherwise you not be able to install the APK you just downloaded.
To enable that,
1. Go to your phone's settings.
2. Go to Security.
3. Unknown Sources and enable it
Step 3:- Install the APK.
Step 4:- Restart Your Phone and Everything will be Perfect!
If You want Video Tutorial Then you can always watch my Video that I uploaded on YouTube on this problem!

Okay here is what I did
1. I rooted my phone
2. I installed CCSWE app manager from play store
3. I also installed Google if I don't have it already
4. I opened CCSWE app manager and I granted root rights
5. I scrolled down to google
6. I tapped it and then I went on assistant
7. I tapped show icon
8. I went on assistant in the app drawer
9. And wait a few seconds
10. Go through setting up Google assistant
11. Done, and every time you want something just long press the home button!
Google assistant disappeared and now I have screen search back again which I don't want

I know that it’s not easy and it needs patience and repetition, yeah never give up guys do it again and again until you get it ????
Thank you.
Two questions:
1: the older method (from that Spanish video) worked for me. And even though there are error messages the first time I open any Google app, simply turning off the notification will stop it from popping up again. So I've been doing that with no real issues. Does the new method bring any other benefit other than "no need to even mute the notification the first time"?
2: do you know the risk level of these methods? Like are we opening up a major hole in our phone or Google account for potential dangers? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am still paranoid about using my real Google account through these methods.

M still not clear, can some one explain again for Huawei Mate XS please!!
Even after installing mod2, last step - still notifications keep coming!
can someone else confirm this method works ? I tried and still get the error messages...

I watched Gatal video the part where he fast forwards is where I think I keep messing up how much time until the GSM framework re appears ?
The fast forward part is not just simply clicking on the screen, but he did unintall and reinstall the framework, Google play, clear cache, clear data.... Etc

I was able to get GSM fully working, without any error notifications popping up whatsoever.
This is what I did (trying to remember from memory)
DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility on anything bad happening to your device, this worked for me but might

1. Download the LZPlay Backup from here:

4. Download and extract this file to e.g. root of your phone:

5. Install the Google Account Manager from the zip
6. Go to Settings -> Users and Accounts -> New Account -> Google. Follow the instructions and add your account
7. Install Google Frameworks from the zip
8. Install Device ID app, I used this:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evozi...release/device-id-1-3-0-android-apk-download/
9. Using the App, check if there's anything on the Google Services Framework, if there is, uninstall Google Play Services
10. Install modagain1gsm.apk from the zip
11. Check the ID again using the Device ID add, and close all applications
12. Clear data + cache on Google Services Framework (you can try also uninstalling and reinstalling but my device froze
when I tried to do that)
13. Check ID again and close all applications
14. Uninstall Google Play Services (again, if your device freezes, try first clearing data+cache and force stopping it)
15. Install com.google.android.gms2.apk from the zip
16. Check the ID again
17. Reboot the device
Now after these procedures I was able to install Play Store APK and install all applications normally without any error
notifications popping up.
thanks drfroz ill give it another go tonight.. just to ask does Netflix, Hulu, work ? is there a benefit to keep trying vs just disabling notifications ?
