Google Play Services is the application that is required to run almost every Google Application. But many people (including me) are suffering from the problem on their phone where they are getting Google Play Services stopped working. However, I managed to solve that problem and here is the guide on how to fix that problem.
So the whole process is very simple. To help you to understand it in more simplified way, I am going to tell you step by step!
What You Need To Fix This Problem?
1. Phone in which you are facing this problem.
2. Internet Connection
3. 2-3 Minutes.
Procedure:-
Step 1:- You need to download Latest Google Services APK.
1. To do this open any of your browser
2. Search for Google Play Services APK
3. You will get plenty of results. Select any of them(I Recommend UPTODOWN) and download the 'LATEST VERSION'.
Step 2:- While its downloading, you have to make sure that Unknown Sources in Your settings is enabled. If not, you have to enable that otherwise you not be able to install the APK you just downloaded.
To enable that,
1. Go to your phone's settings.
2. Go to Security.
3. Unknown Sources and enable it
Step 3:- Install the APK.
Step 4:- Restart Your Phone and Everything will be Perfect!
If You want Video Tutorial Then you can always watch my Video that I uploaded on YouTube on this problem!

This is a guide on how to get the google play store working on HS aurora devices. I'm not sure if this will work on other HS devices but I see no harm in trying.
Files you will need :
1- Link2sd app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2028075&stc=1&d=1370743601
2- Latest google play store
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2028077&stc=1&d=1370743601
3- Latest google play services
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2028078&stc=1&d=1370743601
Copy apks to your android device via usb, external sd or wifi file manager (even bluetooth if your HS device suports it)
Install them but do not open them.
Open up link2sd, with this app you should see all installed apps on the tablet.
Navigate to the google play services and click on it. In the sub menu click on the [actions] button and select [convert to system app] (if this option is "grayed out" then probably your tablet isn't pre rooted and you may have to flash recovery/firmware)
Repeat this process for the google play store app.
Reboot the tablet.
Cheers! Google play store should work
*With link2sd you can "kind of" create your own custom firmware uninstalling unwanted system apps and install your own system apps (internet browser, app launcher, app store...) You can even do this after a "fresh install" (master reset) and then make a recovery image and save to sd card so you wont have to repeat the entire process if anything hapened. The recovery can be accessed by holding the vol down button while powering up the device. You will need a usb keyboard to navigate in the recovery
I want to personally thank for you these brief and clear instructions! I just picked up a discarded Hipstreet tablet, and was totally frustrated with its limited potential *and* lack of good instructions in the community on how to make it better (i.e. by installing Google Play), and decided to try your approach before totally giving up -- and it worked great!
***PLEASE CHECK OUT UPDATE METHOD AT THE END!***
For those of you who cannot get Google now to work because you live in “Other countries", here's a fix that works for the Nexus 5 running the official Android 5.0 Lollipop released yesterday (Thursday 13th).
Here are the possible problems you ran into:
1. In Google Search's setting, you are unable to "flick on" Google Now with text "Google Now requires location services which are not available."
2. You signed out of the Google account, cleared Google Search app, uninstalled updates from Google Play Services, and signed in again. But after you click "Yes, I'm in" in you get a simple message saying "This account is not eligible for Google Now"
Be sure that your device's language is in English (United States)
Fix:
1. Download and install Market Unlocker (I am apparently a new member and not allowed to post links)
2. If your country blocks Google Play (eg. China), download SpeedVPN
3. If you are logged into Google: Settings-->Accounts-->Google-->*Click on your email*-->Three button on top right-->Remove Account
4. Go into Settings-->Apps -->Clear data for both Google Play Services and Google Search
5. Now open Market Unlocker --> Enable Unlocker (Default should be Verizon United States, if not, swipe right and choose that)
6. Turn of the phone.
7. Important: remove SIM card
8. Turn on the phone, connect to wifi, and open SpeedVPN -->Choose "United States"
9. Long press on homescreen -->Settings--> turn on Google Now
10. Log in and you should get your Google Now working.
11. Put back your SIM card
Hope it helps guys. Let me know if you run into any problems during this process.
UPDATE!
HERE'S A NEW METHOD THAT WORKS FOR LOLLIPOP ON NEXUS 5 as of February 1st 2015
This method has also been tested on Nexus 4 running Lollipop 5.0 as well. Here are the steps
1. Make sure you are rooted and have a working VPN
2. Download and install "location report enabler"
3. Run it and grant root access
4. Restart phone, turn on airplane mode with Wi-Fi on
5. Set VPN to country like America or England
6. Clear data for Google Launcher, Play services, Play store
7. Settings--> Location--> Google ----> enable location
8. Sign out of Google account
9. Back to home screen, use Google search to "remind me to buy milk"
10. Go through sign in steps
11. Back to home screen and swipe left. Voila!
Again if you have any questions please comment!

Same for me, I just cannot get it to work. Tried several times, also uninstalled the updates of Google Play Services. And yes, I am rooted...
I also removed my Exchange account and disabled all device administrators
When it says account not eligible and goes back to google search just make it remind something (eg - remind me to sleep in 10 minutes) before doing anything else and it should automatically enable google now and take you to google now. Worked for me and hope this helps yall

Interestingly I didn't even get to try it out.
Google Now worked after following the steps mentioned by dollarside. However, it was probably the 5th I've tried.
Might be related to Market Unlocker that didn't seem to work at first. I used the guide from here (including proxy settings) and downloaded the latest version (3.5.1). After rebooting I made sure that the app actually said Market successfully changed (I had failed before after the reboot).
Another reason could be that I used Astrill VPN before (with different US servers). The last and successful attempt was with SpeedVPN.
In the end I cannot say what helped. Being persistent turned out to be successful. This time.
it's work for me in second try without rooting or using market unlocker.
on my nexus 4 from Iran
Perfect !:good:
Works on 5.0.1
Many Thanks

Yay the new update (Google App 4.1.24.1672412.arm) works with the old trick I used.
The old trick if anyone needs it (Needs root) -
Install Titanium Backup. Install a File Manager and a Launcher. I used ES File Explorer and Nova Launcher.
Find and download com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox-2.6.7.721924.arm version of Google Search and copy it to your phone. (Won't post the link because it's not allowed. You can find it in Androidfilehost)
Open Titanium Backup and tap on "Backup/restore". Scroll down to Google Search and tap on it. Do a backup by tapping "Backup!!" (Just in case) Then tap on "Un-Install!" (Make sure you have a different launcher installed before doing this!!")
Restart your phone.
Open the file manager, navigate to the folder where you copied the Google Search 2.6.7.721924 apk and install it. Open it and it will ask to Opt in to Google Now. Tap on "Yes I'm in".
Download and install the latest update from APKMirror Google App 4.1.24.1672412.arm.
And you are done! Feel free to remove the other launcher and file manager.

Before i begin with this tutorial full credit of for the files of this tutorial go to Twilight glass: https://bbs.nubia.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1397112
Welcome to my alternative guide to installing GAPPS on the nubia x. This tutorial is only for people who are having issues with Teeemoo's method of installing GAPPS or for people who to want to have a more up to date version of GAPPS. Im sure most people have already seen Teeemoo's tutorial but for anyone who hasn't, it shows how to root and install GAPPS.
Once again keep in mind this is a workaround and should not be the official way in how to do it, keep your eyes on the Chinese forums if your waiting for updates on twrp and GAPPS. Im not taking any responsibility if anything goes horribly wrong
Teeemoo's: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nubia-x/how-to/how-to-gapps-nubia-x-t3878441
Like Teeemoo's tutorial this requires root, as i don't believe there is any method to install GAPPS without root. I can help with the basics on getting root on the nubia x but if you need a tutorial Teeemoo's tutorial is your best bet and if your still having issues Twilight glass's root tutorial will help, as long as you use google translate.
Now if your all ready we'll begin.
There is this text tutorial but if you are having issues I've uploaded a video to my mega drive (it is the same place as all the other files)
STEP 1: Download the Google folder from the mega link(DOWNLOAD AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE)
STEP 2: Move the files to downloads folder if there not already there.
STEP 3: Install Root Explorer (DOWNLOAD ON MEGA)
STEP 4: Open Root Manager and copy the 4 google folders from downloads to /system/prive-app
STEP 5: Now go to /system/prive-app and select the 4 google folders and select the 3 dots at the top right of the app, then select permission settings.
STEP 6: Enter the octal 0755 and check both options at the bottom (apply to all folders and subfolders, not to subfolders).
STEP 7: Once you have confined these options restart your phone straight away.
STEP 8; IMPORTANT STEP FOR ANYONE WHO IS HAVING DATA ISSUES WITH APPS LIKE GOOGLE PLAY AND YOU TUBE.
Make sure when you open the google play store and login in to your google account with moblie data enabled not wifi (this is important) if you want to be able to use google play and other google apps on data reliably
GOOGLE FILES DOWNLOAD: https://mega.nz/#F!8poGlAqL!lJv5HZaa_iT-mMTWJhk7Hw
This is it for the Google play install for anyone having issues feel free to leave a comment and ill try to get back to you. And once again full credit for the files goes to Twilight glass.
Thanks for reading if this helped please feel free to leave a like.
thx will try soon

Two questions:
1: the older method (from that Spanish video) worked for me. And even though there are error messages the first time I open any Google app, simply turning off the notification will stop it from popping up again. So I've been doing that with no real issues. Does the new method bring any other benefit other than "no need to even mute the notification the first time"?
2: do you know the risk level of these methods? Like are we opening up a major hole in our phone or Google account for potential dangers? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am still paranoid about using my real Google account through these methods.

M still not clear, can some one explain again for Huawei Mate XS please!!
Even after installing mod2, last step - still notifications keep coming!
can someone else confirm this method works ? I tried and still get the error messages...

The fast forward part is not just simply clicking on the screen, but he did unintall and reinstall the framework, Google play, clear cache, clear data.... Etc

I was able to get GSM fully working, without any error notifications popping up whatsoever.
This is what I did (trying to remember from memory)
DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility on anything bad happening to your device, this worked for me but might
not work for you! Thank you for understanding, I'm just trying to help others here.
1. Download the LZPlay Backup from here:
https://wetransfer.com/downloads/2d...ff5f170d938bd334e98ba2ce20200330034834/8659bc
2. Move it to a memory stick and connect to your Mate XS through OTG
3. Go to Settings -> System -> Backup -> Huawei Backup -> External Storage -> Choose the USB storage and restore
4. Download and extract this file to e.g. root of your phone:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1mhS8tDhXf4AUtpfh9--8Dg8-MJgc_OKv
5. Install the Google Account Manager from the zip
6. Go to Settings -> Users and Accounts -> New Account -> Google. Follow the instructions and add your account
7. Install Google Frameworks from the zip
8. Install Device ID app, I used this:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/evozi...release/device-id-1-3-0-android-apk-download/
9. Using the App, check if there's anything on the Google Services Framework, if there is, uninstall Google Play Services
10. Install modagain1gsm.apk from the zip
11. Check the ID again using the Device ID add, and close all applications
12. Clear data + cache on Google Services Framework (you can try also uninstalling and reinstalling but my device froze
when I tried to do that)
13. Check ID again and close all applications
14. Uninstall Google Play Services (again, if your device freezes, try first clearing data+cache and force stopping it)
15. Install com.google.android.gms2.apk from the zip
16. Check the ID again
17. Reboot the device
Now after these procedures I was able to install Play Store APK and install all applications normally without any error
notifications popping up.
thanks drfroz ill give it another go tonight.. just to ask does Netflix, Hulu, work ? is there a benefit to keep trying vs just disabling notifications ?

14. Uninstall Google Play Services (again, if your device freezes, try first clearing data+cache and force stopping it)
15. Install com.google.android.gms2.apk from the zip
16. Check the ID again
17. Reboot the device
Now after these procedures I was able to install Play Store APK and install all applications normally without any error
notifications popping up.

I've found 2 videos. No success after first one, but second one solved all problems on my Mate XS.
Google play store works fine now, no warnings
first tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivpNP7wFE9I
second : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H54kQT9rT40
Thanks, just to confirm you followed all the step in the first video? Or just the second?
you need to follow first tutorial, the second video is like follow up.
All necessary files are in video's descriptions as well
