Does the original ROM of the pixel 2 support dual sim functionality with the esim?
Does LOS support esim function at all? I cannot find something in settings, but have never used esim before. And does that mean I can use the usual sim and esim at the same time, so a real dual sim function?

GF has a pixel 3 and there is no option to add an esim anywhere. No, it's not a verizon phone. I understand there's no DSDS, we just want to use a travel esim with the sim card removed. The phone is unlocked, I can use any other provider sim. I have a 3a from the same provider (Koodo, Canada) and esim functions are enabled. I am roaming with DSDS and absolutely loving it.
I rooted the phone and enabled setprop persist.vendor.radio.multisim_switch_support true. I know it's not really working in android 10, but I wanted to see if it enabled my esim. I was able to enable DSDS using *#*#4636#*#* but still no way to add an esim.
NM.
I just heard it from one of the reviewers and I needed to confirm it from one of the experts here

Nope..you can just have 5g on one sim card available. Second sim can be still used for phone calls etc..
Hint: i am no expert...but common sense should apply
Yes 5g will disable other sim.Just tested

so you say when 5g is enabled, phone is only single sim? I thought one 4G + one 5G. Could you please try if SIM2 can work with 5G? or 5G has to be SIM1?

When 5g is enabled, phone is only single sim and sim1or2 doesn't really matter.
Yes poco said that when you use 5G phone will be single sim till they will give update that will make 1 sim 5G and other will be 4G
You just have to read the user guide.........
About Dual SIM:
• Supports Dual SIM cards with no carrier restrictions, single 5G or dual 4G
connectivity ①
• Supports Dual Nano-SIM card slots, either card can be set as the primary
card
• Supports single SIM 5G/4G+/4G/3G/2G
• Supports Dual SIM 4G+/4G/3G/2G
• Supports Dual SIM VoLTE HD calling ②
Note ①: 5G support depends on the local telecom operator’s network; if
the primary card 5G is enabled, the secondary card will not be available;
subsequent software upgrades will include support for primary 5G and
secondary 4G/3G/2G card mode function in dual-card situations.
Note ②: VoLTE service availability depends on the local telecom operator’s
network and service deployment
Not so complicate....
So according to the user manual dual sim support while 5g enabled is coming with a future update? the phone is five months old, did the promised update come through yet? are all other ROMs available for this device have the same issue?
The promised update is yet to come .

The phone was launched 5 months ago but probably due to the pandemic there is surprisingly little development and discussion from the community's side. Barely 4 roms.
I have been waiting 2 months now to upgrade because there is no way I ever use MIUI.
Last week LineageOS was released, but it's Android 10, and only initial build.
I will probably wait or lineageOS 18 before I buy this phone, but this means waiting few months the way things are going.
Dont forget that very few people use dual sim on their phone... Not a priority to fix ;o)

I would say there are more dual sim users than 5G users, maybe that's it.
Hi, im currently in south africa, i have a Huawei p40 pro ELS-NX9. this is a dual sim version, however, i only have one nano sim slot, and the other sim is an eSim. my network provider usually takes the dual sim feature away. Is there any way i can enable sim slot 2, as we in south africa do not have eSim capabilities.

It seems to be an hybrid SIM device with only one physical (nano) SIM slot and an eSIM. Dual SIM feature is only possible by using one eSIM AFAIK
Can you please confirm that I can use eSIM and physical SIM at the same time on the P40 Pro making it a dual standby phone? Thanks.
if you look closely, the second sim, gets behind the first ... apart you have option to esim
sorry to ask this if already discussed but has anyone managed to get the nano sim and e-sim working together? i have them both in but once i activate nano sim it knocks off the e-sim. I have tried all i can think off but can only get either nano sim or e-sim working separately. This is not what Samsung says says as they suggest both can work together. nano sim is physical sim
I have tried, and it works fine.. both sim (nano and esim) registered to network, and both is available for incomming call...7
the same for me all is running good for sim and e-sim
Is it possible to select 5G in both Sim1 and eSim in Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G phone(Indian Version)? If how can it be set? Anybody please advise.
Waiting with Thanks...
In settings>connections>cellular network you can set mode for sim and esim 2g/3g/4g/5g.
I have model F2 5g- F916B EU and use dual sim.

Thank you GRIZZLY.But when I set eSIM to 5G/LTE/3G/2G(auto connect) ,the Nano SIM changes automatically to LTE/3G/2G(auto connect). And when I set Nano SIM S1 to 5G/LTE/3G/2G(auto connect),the eSIM automatically changes to LTE/3G/2G(auto connect). What is the correct procedure to set both the eSIM and Nano SIM to 5G/LTE/3G/2G(auto connect)?
Waiting with Thanks....

Interesting, I don't used sim from phisical slot to 5g connecting because my sim card is too old for 5g but now I see identically like in your situation.
When I tap 5g/4g/3g/2g mode for physical sim I see only max 4g for esim and the other way round is similar- probably impossible 5g for both sim.
