No stereo separation - Sony Xperia 5 II Questions & Answers

Hello. I just jumped to a xperia 5 II from a huawei p30 and i was really anxious to try out the speakers and the sound quality. To my surprise, there is no stereo separation. Front phone speakers...ok, i don t mind. But headphones? Mainly i was using wired headphones from apple. But i also tried other headphones and same result. No stereo separation. No left or right output from tests on youtube. Is there a setting i m missing? I only find good opinions regarding sound. So i m not sure if my device has an issue or there is a setting i don t know about. Toggleing dolby on or of does not make a difference. No stereo on other apps also

I tried YouTube videos for left channel right channel test and everything seems to be working fine. Front Stereo Speaker, SONY 310AP Wired headphones and Sony MDR-XB950N1 wireless all working properly. I have Dolby Atmos and DSEE Ultimate setting ON.

Working now. Fiiiiiinally. When swaping, the sony took over all settings from the p30, including mono audio, which was activated on the other phone. All good now. Thank you

Sennheiser CX300-II -- ??

Hi,
Is Sennheiser CX300-II, compatiable with i9000 model. I am planning to buy it, but not sure whether it is compatible or not..
yes galaxy i9000 is compatible with any headpohne you can buy...
thanks... recently i bought sony ericsson MH-610. It is not compatiable with i9000
Must have been setup using the iPhone TRRS layout and not the regular one. There are tiny crossover adapters you can get for earphones like this.

Personally, I'm using a set of SoundMagic E10's as they are both inexpensive and high quality. http://www.head-fi.org/t/635436/soundmagic-e10-vs-sennheiser-cx-300-ii
For good quality adapter, check the FiiO LU1 and LU2 adapters.
I am using LU2 with Sony MH1c, which are really fantastic earphones for the price. Have not heard CX300-II, but did hear CX300 and was not impressed with it's sound which lacked details and control.
There is also Sony MH1, which have the SE Xperia pinout, which is the same as in SGS.

I formerly used these for my I9000, and they worked fine. I'm now using the CX400-II for better sound, and they also work fine (also the volume rocker works).
Had them, worked fine, but after 3 months or sth they started to lose their sound and especially their volume!

Tiny, tiny little portable headphones amplifier

Figured I'd share what I found while surfing for headphone amps.
http://www.head-fi.org/t/658619/fireye-mini-review
The new Firestone Audio Fireye Mini is one of the smallest headphone amplifiers in the world, and offers improved sound quality across the board with all iPod, iPad, iPhones and virtually any MP3 player with a 3.5mm headphone output.
No matter if you have an iPod Touch or an iPod Nano, the Fireye Mini will provide you with better sound quality, with improved bass response and authority, and the ability to drive a more difficult load than woudl otherwise be possible.
The Fireye Mini could not be easier to use, simply charge via USB connection to your computer, and then connect to the headphone output of your portable music player, to enjoy great sound on the go.

This thing is TINY. And apparently it'll give a small volume boost, but the impressive thing is that since it has more power, you get more clarity and better bass. And it goes for ~20 hours on rechargeable battery, which is kinda neat.
$40 at Amazon Prime and available in like six different colors.

Yeah, it's the little tiny purple box in this pic. Also available in black & other various colors.

NOTE: This will NOT work with microphones. So if your headphones have mics, then you can use this with the headphone but the microphone won't work as long as this is attached.

Q: Rate the audio quality of headset for music player

How do you rate the sound quality of wired headset for music playback of quality MP3 or FLAC.
Also what headsets are people finding best on the mate 7 for music media.

and at home I have Audio-Technica ATH-ES7
IMHO, it is superb for flac with Dolby DTS turned on.
My headphone is Audio Technica CKS77X.
Player is PowerAMP with all effects switch off.
Yes the audio output is the best I have ever heard with my own custom headphones.
Kudos to Kirin SOC and Huawei research.

I know is not the place, but I need to ask you, does poweramp, to be more specific the unlock app drains battery on your phone? I found out that it did on my mate 7.
@Luinwethion
I am not aware of poweramp drains battery, with the highest thread setting for audio preference and +750ms audio buffer.
When DTS is on it drains more.. bcos u engaging DTS chip to circuit..

Logitech X240 left speaker doesn't work. Any idea that would lead in a solution?

Alright folks! I got these http://www.orangedove.net/images/ims-1/354_cs-2.jpg (photo isn't mine) since 2007 and I love them, but the left speaker doesn't have any audio coming from it.
Here's how it goes.

Using the earphones jack, it's like connecting directly to the computer, because even with the speakers switched off, audio do comes from this jack.
My plain speakers work fine (L&R audio).
PC audio jack works fine (because as I said, when connecting something in the earphones jack, L&R do work fine).
But whatever I plug in the woofer (the speakers audio jack), the audio comes from the right side only. If I pull out a bit the jack from the woofer then the audio comes from both speakers but actually it's not stereo but mono with the right output, coming from both speakers.
I disassembled it:

Now the thing is how to find a solution making the left speaker work again. The issue comes either from the woofer or the control panel. Sometimes when I push a bit the cables and the woofer, I get it working but for a limited time or until I move them again. I'm 90% sure that the issue resides in the woofer's audio jack. And it seems a bit tricky to replace it (never tried soldering etc).
Gosh, I wish I could change the title... Not working? Seriously? *doesn't work* should it be. Mod edit: Fixed that for you

[ACCESSORIES][REVIEW] 2015 Anker Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker (A3143)

Hey XDA,
Here is my review of the 2015 Anker Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker including HD pics. I purchased this from Amazon UK for £39.99 and I'm sure it's available from your countries Amazon.
These speakers although small pack a serious punch and deliver crisp highs as well as bass heavy lows, a brilliant all-rounder with a premium look and feel. They are one of ankers newest devices in their audio range and they definitely do not disappoint, with a modern look, easy to use buttons with likewise connectivity and the added benefit of an AUX 3.5mm input.
These speakers will outperform anything within it's price range however you use it, whether connected directly to a PC watching a movie or pumping out your the latest songs on your phone, although I found I prefer it for gaming and movies. I had also recently bought a Xiaomi Mi Bluetooth speaker for around the same price and honestly it's just tucked away under this Anker one now.
Every device that is bluetooth enabled should work, that's including PCs and laptops (which from experience do not always work over bluetooth) and if not the 3.5mm jack offers a seamless connection with difficulty to other and/or older devices such as basic MP3 players.
Overall I genuinely cannot fault this speaker it has far exceeded expectations and also blown every other one I own out of the water!
