Originally posted in [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][11.0][N7100][Samsung Galaxy Note 2][LineageOS 18.1][ALPHA][TREBLELIZED]:
I just flashed the newly Android 12 LineageOS 19 build this morning.
It's currently a bit early to share my experience yet since I need some more time, but I already like to share my first impression.
First of all, I was surprised that I could just do a dirty flash over your current 18.1 dec build without any problems.
I did not perform a clean flash because I couldn't backup my Session messages, normally I always perform clean flashes.
I used TWPR 3.5.2 custom recovery to flash this ROM and only wiped Cache and Dalvik Cache/ART partition.
Everything went smooth. It didn't take too long for the first boot either.
Right after the first boot, just when it was booted, the phone rebooted.
After this reboot, I didn't encounter any random reboots yet.
Everything seems working smooth and snappy at the moment.
I can confirm that Magisk 23 is still working on this ROM. You just need to re-flash it after the first boot.
The only annoying thing I discovered is a blinking LED issue and the battery that last less longer, but that's maybe linked to the blinking LED issue.
Something I immediately noticed is that my notification LED is actually red now while charging and green when it hits 100%.
In previous 18.1 build, the LED always got a weird yellowish colour while charging.
Another thing that caught my eye was "Google Play System update" in settings.
I don't understands why it's there since it's supposed to be a degoogled ROM.
Google Play System updates is a part of the Google Play Services ecosystem.
I didn't install any GAPPS and this ROM didn't came with GAPPS pre installed.
Spoiler: What I can confirm is working
- It (re)boots correctly
- Able to receive and sending sms messages and phone calls (didn't try SIM unlock yet. I used the workaround that is mentioned in the main post)
- Camera's
- Wi-Fi (both, 2.4 GHz and 5GHz)
- Video's (YouTube in browser)
- Sensors, except compass (phone rotates correctly)
- Charge correctly to 100%
- S-pen (just as a regular styles, no button functionality)
Spoiler: What is not working + bugs
- An annoying blinking LED issue.
I never experience this before on any ROM.
Can be a coincidence, but after the battery drops below 75%, the notification LED is constantly blinking red, even when the screen is on.
I already tried to literary turn off all notifications options. I even disabled blinking LED option, but it still keeps blinking, even after a reboot. It only disappears after fully charging the phone but will come back in time.
I didn't find a way to fix this.
- Android 12 theme engine seems to be broken.
Some things like buttons (like emergency call button on lockscreen), text (search apps in launcher) and backgrounds in notifications icons in notification panel are still LineageOS teal.
Switching a wallpaper with different colours, but it doesn't change the theme colour of the device. Buttons, lockscreen clock etc. are still light blue. I try to add some screenshots to highlight this problem.
Also, the options to change the icon shape seems to be gone, even in developer settings.
Everything turned into circles after the update. Can't change it.
- USB (can't connect to pc (MTP))
- Extended screenshot beyond your screen
- There was a weird issue that my device is stuck at Samsung Galaxy II screen when turning on the device (not the LineageOS boot screen). I only had this once so can't describe how to reproduce it yet.
I just turned off my device in the power setting inside the ROM. The next time I turned on the device, it was stuck on that screen for 10 minutes. It was fixed by simply holding the power button for a while to turn off the phone.
After doing this, the phone rebooted normally again. I didn't got this issue again.
Besides the blinking LED issue, I had a very good first impression.
I really don't mind that some gimmick features are not working.
I only have this ROM for a few hours, so please keep in mind that I need more time for extensive and more in-depth testing.
Maybe there are some critical problems that I still need to discover.
I just wanted to give a quick update.
@html6405
If there are some specific things you like to try or things I need to keep an eye on, please let me know.

A big thank you to html6405 for this rom! Almost everything seems to work good.
The only thing i am missing is wake by proximity sensor. I use the app Waveup from F-droid for this. I know from trying other roms, that this is an unreliable feature. The sensor hardware is working, that much i know.
When using Lineageos 16, this is a built in feature in the rom, but it deactivates after every reboot. I have to manually turn it off and on every time to get it to work.
No big issue. Just glad to have latest Android on this device. I hope you get more appreciation from this than what you got from your Los 18.1 thread.
Let me know if you want feedback of any kind.
Happy new year!

It does work! I couldn't resist trying the future LOS19.
The overall impression is quite good, as the system seems to be more stable than the previous LOS18.1 for this phone. Still, the development options screen hanged a couple of times. At some point the system crashed and kept rebooting into recovery - fixed by erasing data partition. GPS works, although not well enough. The compass doesn't work in GPStest, but works in Compass app from Fdroid. I tried web browsing and viewing HD videos with Brave browser - very smooth experience. In order to access files on the phone I set up default USB mode in developer settings to files.
Two preinstalled applications are unsafe, contain trackers: camera and via. These had to be removed. Open Camera from Fdroid is installed - it works. The system web browser is preconfigured to ring Google; one may want to review its settings.
Installed Insular app (a sandbox made of the work profile) from Fdroid. The work profile works, but looses its filesystem after disabling and enabling it again. To bring the filesystem back reboot is required.
Phone encryption doesn't work, sadly. This is the same as with many previous custom ROMs for this phone.
A strange horizontal bar is seen at the bottom of the screen (nav bar home button??). Disable "Navigation hint" to get rid of it.
All together, it's an excellent result for the first attempt on LOS19. Looking forward to further releases!
Happy New Year everyone! Thank you html6405 for such an exciting present!

This are really great news, could some one else confirm that GPS is working?
I cant test it by my own...
If it's working fine, I will add it to the working list.

GPS seems to work better with "Force full GNSS Measurements" and "Use GNSS APIs" disabled in GPSTest. I also disabled "Force full GNSS Measurements" in "Developer options". From inside a room it locks on 3-5 satellites, although sometimes after a delay.
With GNSS it finds also Russian and Chinese satellites, but uses only the US constellation.
GPS performance, of course, is not as impressive as in new Samsungs, which lock on several constellations at the same time.
----------------
Added later... Still, GPS is not working well enough in this first release. It finds satellites slower than my ancient HTC DHD (ace) running cm13. Then it locks and in a moment loses the lock. I'll look into this in more detail...

Great, hopefully some one else can confirm this , you're the only person so far.

Yes indeed - working GPS very important, and needs to be confirmed by multiple sources.
But kudos to the developer for making progress on this.

hello, dear! tell me, what is the battery life? I use rr 5.8.5, the battery lasts for a day of average use. I tried to install lineage 16 - the battery was enough for several hours( now I would really like to switch to this rom, but everything depends on the battery life. thank you for the answers!

Just tried: flight mode, screen off, location off, BT and NFC off, no GApps, just sitting on the desk starting with fully charged. After half an hour the estimated battery life is 10h, 6m. Not great. The battery felt fine last night for a couple of hours of experimenting with secure messengers, then fully charged, then down to 2% by morning. I'll try uninstalling the messengers in case they are draining the battery - wait for an update.
I could not find a way of disabling the clock on the sleeping screen. It disappears after a while, but the screen power consumption is suspect.
Well, this is the first alpha release, the things with power consumption might improve soon.
----------------
Update: I found a way to disable the clock on the sleep screen and the battery life increased to 23 hours, mobile network 1% (still the flight mode is on), phone idle 1%.
The method to disable the display was to press the power button while the notification panel is open...- perhaps another bug.

The always on display will be turned off in the next build, this will improve the power consumption a lot.

You should be able to disable the always on display in the quick settings (AOD) and give your test a retry .

Just tried the AOD button: first enabled it and then disabled again... - it worked! Not sure, though, whether any of my previous attempts to modify the settings via adb played any role. I'll repeat timing of the battery with this setting. Thanks.

Theoretically it should be enabled by default (what I will change in the next build for sure), but anyway, it's good if you can turn it off yet.

Great news, another person confirmed with a video that GPS is working ,
so I will add it to the working list.
Nice to see, that this worked out nearly blindly, because I have no testing opportunities...

With AOD button on then off the battery life is estimated as "more than 2 days left" (flight mode, idle). Let's wait for a little longer...
-------------------
Update: after 11h it predicts "5 days left" and counting! Very good! The graph shows slightly increased power consumption in the first hour, and then it goes almost horizontal. I think it will be more than 5 days at idle, perhaps twice as many.
-------------------
Further update: after 1 day 5 hours it says 9 days left. The way the graph in Battery Usage page goes makes me think that it will last about 20 days if left idle. I don't know what caused the quick discharge in the first hour; after that the graph is a straight line pointing beyond 20 days mark...
-------------------
Yet another update: 28 days predicted after 23 hours of idling. Very good! This is with all wireless interfaces off, Always On Display off and NavBar off.
For reference - Note 4 with cdDroid 9 under similar conditions reports 45 days.

I checked this rom. the sd card is not mounted as internal memory, the phone falls into the bootloop before the lock screen, after which the bootloop again. wipe data or format does not help
-----------------
udp. the backlight of the hardware buttons does not work, although it is enabled in the settings
-----------------
upd. the indication of charge percentages in the status bar does not work when the display is selected with a circle inside the icon

[Q]Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 frozen every morning after charging/sleeping, help?

Hi All,
First - I'm new - but I did plenty of searching and found some similar problems, but nothing quite the same. Most are really old and this is with a newer Tab with ICS stock on it so most I felt didn't apply.
I just got a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 a week ago. I'm very happy with it except for one constant annoyance. Every morning after charging all night I have to hard reset the tablet. When I press the wake button I get the splash screen, but it's very sluggish and never responds. Sometimes I can swipe it away but the desktop never comes up.
I believe it to be something I've installed but I need some help to figure out what because of the troubleshooting steps I've taken. Here's what I've tried so far:
Factory Reset - after doing this and charging overnight this did *NOT* happen. *This leads me to believe that it's an installed app and not a hardware or OS issue*
After Factory Reset I tried restoring my apps manually instead of automatically via my Google account. No difference.
I was selective about what I restored - didn't just get EVERYTHING. Still no difference.
I am charging using the supplied cable and charger that came with the tablet
Wifi is on and there is a 16GB MicroSD card in the device every night.
I tried using a different launcher (both nova and apex) thinking it might be something conflicting with Samsung's SecLauncher but no improvement.
Since the issue I have rooted the device, but this same problem was happening both before and after. I believe I have a rogue process either memory leaking or eating CPU cycles that prevents me from even waking the device fully - and so far I can't figure out what it is. I have three questions for the group:
A) Any other new GTab 2 7.0 users with the same issue?
B) Is there an app I can run that polls my CPU/memory and running app usages to a text file every few minutes so that I can reboot and see what was going on right before I rebooted?
C) Any other info I can provide to help figure out WTF is going on?

I just got my tablet today, so I can't really say if I will or won't experience this, but maybe you can try killing processes before you go to sleep, or selectively killing things to see if the problem is fixed. It will take time, but sometimes troubleshooting is simply a pain in the ass.
After the tab charges the charger needs to be removed....Or you would have to reset.....
On another note this tab is it resets when it gets a few degrees over running temp

hi, well there is something I can't understand, why didn't you return it after one week, you should have consider to take it to Samsung before rooting it.
there is plenty of applications who can provide a complete report about your processes, just type cpu diagnostic or process log in Google play.
and I think you can unroot it, then let the people who are already paid by your warranty do their job.
If I helped you, please press the thanks button ;-)

I don't believe it's an issue with the hardware or OS - I think it's something I've installed. I don't need to return something that's not defective because when I factory reset it it doesn't do this.
I'll try those searches you suggested.
I have seen this happen to my Galaxy Tab 2 (7) every once in a while. What I have noticed using the app "Watchdog" is that there is a system process (I am at work so cannot access/remember it) that every once in a while chews up 40-60% of the processors juice(Could be a TouchWiz process... i wouldn't know) ... This thing should fly once we have it rooted and once we have our devs clean it up and get some cleaner roms out
Hang in there mate... Good times are about to come
Totally - waiting for some CM9 on this.

This is bull. I'm supposed to babysit my tab and unplug it when it's full, or it will freeze and reboot? That's ridiculous.

I had my tablet plugged in overnight and when I woke up, I didn't get the freezing issue, so I think its just the OP and not necessarily a wide spread problem.
I've been having seemingly random freezes and about once every two or so days. It's kind of annoying--at first I thought the battery was dead, but it seems it's a common thing. Might head back to Costco to swap for a different one.

I purchased this as my second tablet, first being a Kindle Fire that I did everything to. But I love this thing!! I have not rooted yet, waiting for CM9... I always have the SOD after charging or not using the Tab for a long period of time; this is my fault for not conserving battery and just turning it off. BUT! SOD's are a pretty much a grantee that I have noticed with ICS tablet platforms that I have experienced so far. WHY? I do not know. I have also noticed that after playing any games for a lengthy time, they suddenly go into a glitching mode, as if the processors are just worn out.
Those are just a couple of things that I have noticed. Let me know any suggestions.
Tweaks that might be helpful
JimmyO:
Why not go back to stock, with factory reset , and run your tab for a couple of days (and nights) to determine whether you have a base problem. If you do, take it back or contact manufacturer. If not, as you have already indicated. then the problem is, allmost without doubt, bad software. In that case you may need to just load no more than half a dozen "essential" apps, try them for several days; if problems then remove them one at a time until problem is solved. If no problem, repeat the process with another half dozen apps.
You have a wide diversity of apps, many of which may auto-refresh. I would suspect one of these is mis-behaving.
The following is a response from Michael S to a string of negative feedback comments on the SGT 2 7, recently published by an individual on Amazon.
Michael is obviously a very savy guy, as his comments provide numerous tweaks that every SGT 2 owner (and most ICS users) should be vividly aware of. This info may help you to solve your problem, and get the most out of your SGT 2 7".

Michael S says:
Right now my Tab 2 stats show the device is going 2 days 14 hours on a battery charge with 43% left. I use the Tab a few hours a day web surfing, doing research, checking and responding to emails. There are a number of ways to save juice so I'll mention a few that I use; which some, all, or none, may be applicable to others' situations:
#1 - Go into "Settings", then "Wi-Fi". At the top right-hand side there is a icon of "3 bars and a small triangle" (basically an option button) click on it and and when the "Advance" box shows on the screen, click it. Then click on "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" then check "only when plugged in". This will turn off the Wi-Fi when in sleep mode & running on the batteries. I use a login pattern to unlock my Tab and every time I unlock the screen it states "establishing Wi-Fi connection" I'm using WEP2 encryption on my network and the Tab starts Wi-Fi within seconds of waking from sleep. If one wants their Tab running multiple apps and to always have the most up-to-date information "pushed" to the device even while sleeping and running in battery mode, then one has to trade battery life for always-on information. The Wi-Fi will be active in sleep mode when it is plugged in. If you Always want the Wi-Fi off when in sleep mode then select "Never" instead of "Only when plugged in".
#2 - I mostly use my Tab at home or at the office. I have both Wi-Fi network settings saved in the device, so I turned off "Network Notification" in the same area as # 1 above. This stops the Tab from periodically searching the Wi-Fi Network for "Open Networks". If I go out and want to connect to a Wi-fi hot spot, I simply turn this feature back on.
Note: When you are in "Settings" and "Wi-Fi" mode you will notice that periodically the device shows "Scanning". Because you are in Wi-Fi mode, it scans to refresh the wi-fi networks its found, to help you connect to them. It does not continue to scan the network after you leave Wi-Fi settings, unless "Network Notification" is turn on, although the scan intervals may be different between the two modes.
#3 - In "Settings" then " Location Services" make sure "Use GPS Satellites" is unchecked. This requires more battery and a clear view of the sky, and is really only useful outside.
Those 3 settings will make a difference in battery consumption, and will not affect most people's use of the Tablet, although others' actual mileage may vary
#4 - In addition, as I stated earlier, I mostly use my Tab 2 at work or home, so I always know where I am. Therefore, I also turn off "Use Wireless Networks" (Found in the "Location Service" section). This use Wi-Fi to help determine your location for Maps and such. If a App or Apps are running in the background and they have a location feature, this stop them from updating while the Tab is sitting idle, or your while your using other apps.
#5- Because I use my Tab mostly at work or home and I know where I am, I usually turn-off GPS. Click on the "Clock" icon at the lower right-hand side, and then uncheck "GPS". If I ever need it, I quickly turn it back on.
#6- In "Settings" "Account and Sync" I have "Auto Sync" turned off. I turn it on when it's plugged in and then have it Sync. Then I turn if off once its done charging and back on battery power. I usually sync only 1-2 per week, same as my Skyrocket.
#7- Next, in "Settings" then "Developer Options" (I don't run a bunch of Apps and don't use a lot of "Notifications") so I check the box "Do not Keep Activities" This means when I leave an App, ICS closes the app instead of letting it run in the background, possibly sucking more juice. I saved this one for last, as it impacts the tablet operation the most. If a person uses "Notifications" or likes to multitask with many apps running and want to quickly switch between them, then thus option is not useful. What it does do is free one up from going into "Task Manager" and closing down a bunch of Apps you thought you closed but were only minimized when you exit-ed the App.
#8- Lastly, Usually the biggest drain on the battery is the display. Currently under "Battery" in "Settings" the Display has consumed 65%, with the next closest item "Internet" at 19%, and "Android System" & "Android OS" at 5% each, with everything else at less than 5% combined. Unfortunately, I'm unable to recommend the "Auto-Display" mode, as for me, it makes the display too dark most of the time (click on the "Clock" icon and then check the "Auto" box to engage).
I keep the display setting at about 20-25% as I mostly use the tab 2 indoors. As mentioned above, others' actual mileage may vary with Auto-Display turned on. I use Auto-Display on my Skyrocket, as I use it equally indoors and outdoors. When indoors, I find Auto-Display too dark also, but I live with it because when using the Skyrocket outdoors I find the Auto-Display is a must to see the display in bright sunlight, and therefore watch the battery drain accordingly. To compensation for this, I replaced the stock battery (1,850 mAh) with an extended battery (2,250 mAh) for a 22% capacity increase. This is obviously not a option on the Tab 2.
Hope this is of help!! I know it was to me.

hi, i have had similar problems with my HTC One X, found the culprit was NZBAir, try uninstalling it.

Hi All,
First - I'm new - but I did plenty of searching and found some similar problems, but nothing quite the same.
C) Any other info I can provide to help figure out WTF is going on?

jmgraham / cbill thanks for all the help I will try it out!
also - yay for our own forum!

simples tips and tricks to make this device awesome right now

with stuff we got
Here are mines, mostly based on personnal/subjective stuff, but I spent quite some time digging this out for me so let's share.
Whats the best custom ROM LOLOLOL ?
AICP might be https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/development/7-1-1-aicp-12-1-n-7-1-1rxx-lenovo-p2-t3576216
Provided you want those extra shiny custom things built over Lineage.
This is to my knowledge the only custom ROM here receiving OTA updates (correct me if I'm wrong). Nightly updates.
RR feels more polished, but no updates since second release and issues updating Magisk. (Well some had, other didn't, I know I did).
On a side note RR can go MicroG way using those scripts for more privacy and battery related interests https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/microg-unofficial-installer-t3432360
Haven't tried with AICP yet.
This is a subject on his own, so tell me if you're interested. Otherwise go OpenGapps ARM64/7.1 http://opengapps.org/ (I suggest Pico then you install everything else you might need from google on the playstore).
Mandatory custom Rom stuff
1- No Volte.
2- No Volte, at least for a long long time.
3- Stop asking.
4- No fingerprint back button. 3rd party app might do the trick, but everyone should use the mighty copied but never surpassed pie https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150 ... And never need anything else again to control their phone.
4- If you experience idle battery drain reported as usb related by good monitor apps like Better Battery Stats, just remember to plug and unplug AC after each reboot. Not too tedious.
5- Use this mehod to get LED notification back https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-p2/themes/lenovo-p2-rooted-custom-led-t3589859
-This got people confused: LED codes are to be entered in each Notification events, and it doens't matter if the main LED controller indicate it's grey, it wont be cause you're using the other one.
-Light Flow is acually awesome and doesn't drain any noticeable amount of juice contrary to what I red.
-If you want to get rid of the perma notif (works as well for LMT pie), don't use legacy version, just block the notification from android by longpressing on them. I will then work without trouble. Don't battery optimize it though.
6- Fast charge should works as expected, although not notified on lockscreen (but the timer will give you a hint).
7- "Battery life is not as good as it is on stock". I haven't made extensive tests being allergic to stock looks and lack of custom-ability, but I can tell you battery life on Aicp is STELLAR with a few tricks:
- battery optimize google play service. Oh yes ! It will works as usual.
Then choose carefully what apps absolutly needs to be left alone on that matter, they are few.
No need for greenify anything anymore unless you have some really "rogue" app (and in that case they should be disinstalled anyway).
- perma-run on data saving mode even in wifi (add your usual wifi at the bottom of the page).
You don't need anyone phoning home on your back anyway, only authorize the apps that absolutly can't do without internet.
Along those one are google contacts and agenda sync (not the apps themselves, another satellites ones). If you use google sync that is to say.
- Disable this 90% of your apps that don't need to run in background or at boot into the advanced mode of the privacy menu.
- Bonus round: manually sync everything including markets, disable all those apps that want to notify or check about things you don't care, get a nice black substratum theme like Flux, maybe make use of the suspend action function (incuded in Aicp and RR) that switch data and gps when screen is off.
Battery might even looks like it recharges itself now what a phone on that matter.
On the contrary speaking about where it falls short:
Sound sucks
Well, it's not that good, not Audiophile one bit. As a music addict I felt really bothered. Highly subjective matter, but after trying many many things I finally got my butt kicked trough my hear with this combination only: Ahrion Dolby https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342 + Ainur Audio https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
Procedure to install them both was a bit tricky:
-distinstalling Dolby with provided .zip
-installing Sauron (disinstall/install as OP says)
-disinstall Audiomod in Magisk
-re-install Dolby. Wich re-installs Audiomod.
Then sonic bliss !
More to come.

Quick question what's micro g?
MicroG allows you to use Gapps without Playservices, thus gaining more control over your battery and privacy while having a still fully functionning phone.
Btw RR was updated 2 days back.
Thanks for all the detailed info.
On the subject of
Camera sucks
I'd very like to hear if someone has dug the most optimal app and settings for this phone.
I'm not really into photo and the few pic I've taken outside looks perfectly fine to my noob eyes.
But on a few occasion I like to storm photos on something and that's better be ok shots :good:
- perma-run on data saving mode even in wifi (add your usual wifi at the bottom of the page).
-You don't need anyone phoning home on your back anyway, only authorize the apps that absolutly can't do without internet.

Can't find suspended action
I'm not able to understand above mentioned things please explain a those if possible.
I'm in aicp latest build.
Sent from my Lenovo P2 using Tapatalk
Data save mode is an android feature found into the data consumption menu.
Suspend action is a custom rom feature found in the custom rom options of RR and AICP. RR has a tile for it, AICP doesn't.
This Custom Ron is great, way better than i expected.

Update OP for bugreports from last version to check what's fixed, what's new, what's still broken. Will update my review as soon as I dig deeper into the new update.
Let's begin:
Update was about 22MB going from .05 to .7 and it took just a few minutes to install. (wasn't this supposed to be 06 or 6?)
On a first look there is a new MiCommunity app now being forced as system, it's like an app for their forum and being promoted as "must have", I don't think so, but that's that.
Testing download speed on a 150mbps uplink b/g/n router goes up to 30mbps but there is a QOS system managing the wi-fi, with QOS disabled we got a speed of 60mbps.
Testing download speed on moderate 4G signal is simply horrendous clocking at 2mbps and with full signal clocking at 4mbps (this is simply a joke) so the 4G bug still persists.
Microphone bug is now fixed, tested in Facebook Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp. But while in facebook messenger volume seems to be loud, in Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp volume is lower, but audio is ok.
Video recording has a bug while focusing and sometimes misses the subject (not actually blurry, but soft focussed and not sharp), and while tapping to focus, it still misses (test it on your own computer screen). Camera seems to work ok as functionality, but JPEG quality is lowered, file size of photos is lowered, and the overall quality of the pictures is lower than previous update (old update picture file size 8MB, now 3MB). Picture attached, you can see some artifacting in the natural blur area (this is not portrait photo) and it only gets worse in low light.
Customize your pixel message is still present and cannot be dismissed.
5Ghz band in Wi-Fi tether is now working.
Sim card menu is still not adapted to the dark mode, it persists to be white while global theme is dark.
This update cleared about 2GB of storage space (at least for me).
Google Play security is still 1 May 2020.
Nothing new to report setting wise, no new features, nothing broken.
Overall performance testing each setting in the menu was very good, no slowdowns.
Moving to general system and 3rd party experience:
3rd party audio effects now work without process crash (Noozxoide EIZO-Rewire E).
Playback of SACD DSF, FLAC, and MP3 is flawless.
OK Google now works ok.
General audio quality was improved, by lowering the overall volume of media (Xiaomi's side) while keeping it louder for ringtones. Good job! Audio lacks bass a litte, but it's crispier now.
Gaming experience with resource heavy games is fine and has no problems: tested with Asphalt 9, Black Desert Mobile, Honkai Impact and PPSSPP emulation (framedrop to 24 from 30 - PSP games are locked at 30fps - is because the screenshot animation).
Multitasking while resource heavy gaming was done without system reloading any of those games, could switch to any of those games on the fly without problems.
Youtube playback for 1080p60fps didn't drop any frames (1 frames dropped when switching to 1080p60).
No other 3rd party, play store app encountered any problems.
During heavy testing CPU temperature didn't go over 42C and no thermal throttling slowed down the device.
With 96 applications loaded into the memory device started to work a little slower, but keeping in mind that 96 apps were loaded I believe that's just fine.
Now locking/unlocking, reboot and USB MTP testing:
Unlocking the device via fingerprint is smooth and fast with no apps started.
Unlocking the device via fingerprint with a lot of apps in the memory is still fast and smooth.
Unlocking the device via swipe is still weird but works better than the last update, so lockscreen unlock was not fully fixed, still fails sometimes to pop up pin code.
Lock and unlock sounds work as intended.
Notifications can ring over playing music without stuttering.
Charging sound work as intended, but it's a little quiet.
MTP is still inconsistent in transferring file batches. Files do not appear in Google or 3rd party apps after being copied to the card. Reboot makes the files appear, bug is still present.
Reboot time is ok.
Rapid charging is working even faster.
That's it, the phone is usable.
For the battery test, I need at least 2 cycles to test the actual battery life.
Cycle one - stand-by time, only 23minutes of SOT and only using the phone to auto-update apps (4g, wi-fi b/g/n, bluetooth always online) gives a stand-by time of ~5 days which is as expected.
Cycle two - I got about aprox 6 hours of battery time with screen on and heavy use with (wi-fi on, 4f and bluetooth). What was heavy use? I made sure the screen won't turn off for more than 10 minutes, gaming on resource heavy games, maybe 1-2hrs of screen casting Youtube and overall maybe 15 minutes of phone calls.
Conclusion: while stand-by times stayed the same over the updates, since A10 was released the SOT decreased. Also the phone was almost at thermal throttle limit after ~1hour. That's not quite optimized yet and while in normal day to day use I won't use my phone for 6 hours straight, that's not a good SOT for 4kmAh battery.
-----------------Later edit
It seems like glance notification screen is gone, notifications now wake up the phone in lock screen. The old feature was better because you couldn't interact with the screen when notified, so it wouldn't pose a threat in the pocket. Now you can interact with the screen.
Glance screen is back after reboot, bug didn't appear in >1 week of use.
A full charge takes 8 hours with original adapter. So charging speed is ****ed.. If anyone finds a solution,do share.

Never had this problem, but I would try a complete wipe and then reinstall the stock rom.
I can't see this update
How can they force a buggy app like Mi Community on every phone ??? The app sometimes crashes if I navigate too fast through it. Also, it asks for call logs in order to log in. I just don't trust xiaomi with these moves.
Edit: Also, Mi Community app notifications can't be disabled anymore from the notification channels.
Customize your pixel message is still present and cannot be dismissed.
OMG. Xiaomi please fix this!

Do double check cable and port support fast charging.
A data wipe solved the case.
In my experience battery life is worse.
+10% overnight decrease without doing nothing.
The first thing I noticed with 11.0.7 is that now when the phone is restarted, it doesn't pass the lock screen automatically.
In the last 11.0.x updates, when I restarted my phone, it started with the home screen instead of the lock screen while I had fingerprint activated.
+1 for 11.0.7
Still usable...
I've paused this update for several days because I did not want to ruin my Pie 9 phone, but one morning when I was using the phone as hotspot and the update was downloaded without my consent, so I rebooted and installed it.
Verdict after factory reset:
Android 10 gestures are a bit to much for my 3gb ram version. Pie 9 gestures work smooth like before. Forcing dark mode when in battery saving mode is hilarious when you have an IPS panel, because it uses MORE battery. Charging, battery drain and connection are about the same like on pie. Best thing is that the steps to adapt the volume on Bluetooth speakers are now far smaller the on pie 9, where it was either to loud or to silent.

Direct share is now working and brings the list of your recent contacts.
+1 for 11.0.7
Afet some days the lag reappear so Xiaomi didn't fix this and you need to restart the phone to work properly and after 4-5 days do the same is not very big deal but is annoying.
Bluetooth only hast SBC Codec. You can View curent Codec in Developer settings while playing. And after Bluetooth Connect to my Car the Bluetooth Volume ist verry Low.

bluetooth with my Uconnect Jeep Compass doesn't works!!!
Good news is that WiFi hotspot works for me now. It never worked on pie. I have no idea if it was working on older Q releases.
Bad news is that with WiFi or Bluetooth hotspot I cannot connect to adb. I'm fairly sure it worked in pie. Looks like I gotta take a wifi router or USB cable for dev on the road now.
Background apps don't stay in memory
I've already done a factory reset, disabled Adaptive Battery to no avail.
I've seen this problem posted in different places, even after the latest update v11.0.7

OnePlus 7 - OxygenOS 11 stable - Issues

Hello,
Recently i upgraded my OnePlus 7 to OxygenOS 11 via OTA, and here is a list of a few annoying bugs(features?) that you'll need to know before upgrading:
(Note: I performed hard reset after upgrading, so any bugs here will be persistent and not because of some fixable issues, unless you are rooted/want to use adb maybe?)
(Also, this is the stock OOS 11, not rooted, and no modifications)
1) I'm not sure if it's just me, but the device heats up much faster. Though the temperatures here are high, I tried to maintain as close to a lab condition as possible, maintaining 30C ambient temp. Evaluation was done with a session of Call of Duty Mobile, and Youtube 4K video loopback test. Avg temps are: CODM : OOS 10: 41C, OOS 11: 45C, Youtube: OOS 10: 37C, OOS 11: 38C
2) Performance hit in games and frame drops (CODM, outside the ambient temperature maintained conditions), could be due to overheating? (As i mentioned, ambient temps are a bit high here). Also SystemUI lags sometimes. Adding to that, trying to bring up notification panel while playing a demanding game (like codm), the SystemUI (notification panel) opening animation is really choppy. (Is there some graphic driver issue?)
3) Brightness slider very slow to respond (seriously? Have to wait for 3 sec for the brightness to come up/go down on manually moving the slider)
4) Again, this one could be only me, but the audio seems to be a bit low after the update. All the ringtones and default notification sounds, with the same volume levels feels lower than how it was on OOS 10.
5) Battery drain - Device heat up and performance issues, translate to higher battery drain
6) This may not be a bug, but it's a change that i don't quite like (at least provide options?) : Double tap to wake doesn't give a vibration feedback like how it used to.
7) Everything, including UI and default font size is bigger than what I'm comfortable with (no, changing the font/display size doesn't give the expected results). But there's a workaround: Changing the display dpi from developer options from 384 to 420.
8) I had several app crashes (Instagram, Photos) even after disabling Android System Webview as suggested by some. But this issue seems to have been fixed magically for now.
9) This is a change, but to actually poweroff/reboot, you will need to reach your finger to the top of the screen with the new UI.
10) DC dimming has been removed
11) Weird QC issue-Someone thought any greyed out field in settings is because it's not supported by phone or HEADSET... Even in Private DNS settings.(See screenshot)
12) Natural colour calibration has a weird yellow tint (sRGB profile works fine tho)
13) Lots of missed/delayed notifications. Many times, notifications from apps like Instagram, Telegram doesn't arrive on time, with delays from 2 minutes to never arriving at all. Whatsapp seems to work most of the time. Sometimes, notifications don't make sound (weird), but only flash on the screen (Yes, I've verified all my notification settings, and I've set everything to make sound)
14) Now this might be a personal preference, but I don't quite like the way OxygenOS is trying to mimic OneUI (Huge heading and small contents beneath? Not my taste.) This style is followed in the phone, messaging, contacts, calculator, etcc
15) Quickly switching between recent apps, there's a split second of a black screen that appear before the app UI is displayed (not complaining, but this was not present in oos10, it seamlessly moved from the preview of the app on the recent apps screen to the actual app ui without any flickering, and no, this is not because of dc dimming being off or anything)
16) Google Play Music is still not removed (seriously, why still have it if it can't be used?)
17) FileDash - No longer has the DNS resolver for one.plus address. You will now have to manually type in the address displayed by filedash in your browser. Also, it still uses 2.4GHz and not 5GHz.
Edits: Added more bugs/missing features
Hem981,
I can confirm #7 is an issue on mine as well.
The power menu is an android 11 change not an OOS change.
I upgraded from OOS 10 to OOS 11 no wipe and don't seem to experience the other issues that you are having, except the obvious changes they made to the firmware. Have you tried clearing the dalvik-cache and rebooting? Mine was super buggy before doing this, but then again I just upgraded without wiping.
One issue I've personally noticed is the cell radios were a lot better on OOS 10, and I'm assuming that is the cause of the battery life to be worse.
Another that could be due to doing some debloating is when I take a screenshot and the little preview pops up in the bottom right corner if i click on it the UI will freeze after clicking back. The Nav buttons still work, like you can click on recents and the recent menu appears, back and home work but the screen is frozen otherwise until I force a reboot.
Yeah, I've tried factory reset and then wiping dalvik-cache... The performance was better before i performed the factory reset, i think. Anyway, there are quite a few games/apps where the performance impact is easily visible. Also, the power button thing is an Android change, but i really hoped OnePlus to have done something to make it more easily accessible (OOS is not pure Android). I couldn't find the issue with the cell radio you mentioned (as I've tried in areas in which i already had poor reception, and the performance was what was expected). Anyway, I really hope some of these (at least the performance, battery drain and the brightness slider issue) will be fixed soon over updates.
(For me, the SOT has gone down from 9.5 hours to 7 hours under similar use cases)
Yeah SOT has definitely taken a hit on mine as well, standby time seems the same. I also have noticed that the screen brightness needs to be set higher for the same brightness as OOS 10. The cell radio sometimes seem normal, but most of the time they are about 5-10 dBm higher at my house. I'll probably give a clean flash a try this weekend to see if it clears up.
One more issue found:
Weird red tint on screen auto dimming
The whole display has a weird red tint just before the device is about to lock/turn off screen after the timeout, when the display dims. It is easily noticeable if you have a white screen displayed. It only happens if you have set the brightness slider to anything other than the bare minimum (even a single step above the minimum brightness is able to replicate this issue)
I found something interesting: issue #3, the brightness slider being slow to respond to changes, seems to be fixed by disabling all animations from developer options. Should the window animator duration scale have any effect on the responsiveness/quickness of display brightness adjustment? I think that's stupid.
Also, I am starting to thing we need something like 0.1x duration scale for the animations (all animations on Android, or at least OOS), because honestly, with each new implementation, the animations are being too slow that it degrades the whole experience. 0.5x feels a bit better, but i really think something like 0.4x would match the animation speed of android 10.
You forgot to mention the vibration motor effect which has deteriorated since the update. The device now feels like any other cheap device.
It's kinda weird in my situation, just upgrading from 10.3.8 using an old version of xXx NoLimits to 11.0.0. The phone was super buggy when I first installed, but after rooting, wiping the delvik cache, debloating, removing the xXx module, and time to settle in the only issues I have are the screenshot popup, and the lower cell signal which I'm sure is causing a hit on battery life.
I was going to reinstall this past weekend, but for the time and inconvenience it's not worth the time compared to the minor issues I have.
Edit: Even the screen resolution seems normal now.
Again, don't know if this is an issue for anyone else (and i don't think OnePlus is going to change this): While everything else became bigger on the phone, the buttons/number keypad for typing in the screen lock pin became too small.

Hi! Oneplus 7 ownere here.
Try to answer all the points:
1) i don't notice any difference between OOS10 and OOS10 on the heat of the phone
2) I don't know for the gaming performance but i don't play any games...overall, the performance are good, no system lags or freeze BUT I have the same issues with the notification...when i tap a notification, I often have delay, maybe it's just the animation but I remember the same issue on a Oneplus 8t that i tried for 20 days in last November
3) same issue here, very annoying
4) not just you, have same issue
5) battery drain is the same in my case, in standby maybe is less than before
6) me too, but maybe they change this as they planned?
7) yes, same thing. i changed the DPI from developer options too
8) no crashes here
9) this is an Android 11 change from Google, maybe they don't want your device to power off ahahah
10) never had this problem luckily
11) don't know, never tried this
12) i noticed this after reading this point, true on my device too
13) i faced the same issue on the notification sound, the other things works fine
14) me too, if i wanted One UI, i would have bought a Samsung...
15) sometimes happens to me, maybe it's bad ram management?
16) this is ridicolous, why they doesn't remove this app??
17) never tried
I also have an issue on the vibration. Now it's HORRIBLE, i have disabled because it's unusable
So, this is my question: change phone or rollback on android 10?
There's one more addition to the list: Always on display sometimes seems to override the notification lockscreen privacy settings. I have some notifications put as "view private content only when unlocked", but the notification contents are visible just when it arrives on the always on display (though it's content is hidden in the actual lockscreen)
I've reported almost all of these bugs, and hopefully we will see new updates fixing most of these.
Can someone on OOS 10 on OnePlus 7 confirm if the "style preferences" settings in sound settings is greyed out while the output is phone speakers (or no other sound output devices connected)?
New hotfix patch OTA rolling out now...
Here is what's fixed and what's not:
1,2 : Yet to test
3: Not fixed
4:Fixed
5: Yet to test
6: No changes
7: No changes(or not easily noticeable maybe?)
8: Not encountered any "ghost" app crashes yet
9: No change
10: DC Dimming is not back, so no change
11: Not fixed Is it that hard to remove 'headset' text from the UI?
12: Don't know if it's because my eyes adjusted to it, but it seems a bit better now
13: Not yet tested
14: What can I say?
15: Fixed
16: The ghost of Google Play Music still remains
17: Not fixed
Edits: Nothing much is fixed
Performance: Marginal improvements
SoT/Battery: Even worse. Getting almost half the SoT I got on OOS 10 under similar use case and network/tenperature conditions
Ghost app crashes reduced a lot (that might be the only fix) , but is not completely gone (saw that 1 or 2 times)
Haptics is still as bad as before
I'm just worried about this weired bug which has rendered my parallel whatsapp very difficult to use to share media. Any fix for this is highly appreciated - https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/whatsapp-media-problem.1411292/
Thanks and regards
OOS11 - Stable
I have no problems on my device until now (for games I dont know why I do not play)
I noticed, because I have tried both roms(beta4 & stable).Open Beta4 has better "battery management" than stable! Αs strange as it may seem but is a real for me..
Well yes .Battery drain higher than openbeta4
wifi works fine to 5ghz band & generally my device works quite well so far. Patience is needed and all problems will be fixed...
https://postimg.cc/gallery/YtQpVDm
After the recent OS 11 update ,the media in my device ( photos and videos) not being shown properly in Whatsapp. Some of the videos and pictures which I've already deleted in the gallery are appearing again only in whatsapp in unsupported file format.
I'll be glad if someone confirms that it's a bug in OOS 11.0.2 and that my phone is not the only one which is affected.
I'm using WhatsApp and Parallel Whatsapp. Also have setup a Work/Office profile on my phone.
Does anyone have any solution to this issue?
Thanks and regards!
For me, wifi no longer works. Whenever I try to enable it, it just immediately turns off. It also no longer recognizes my SIM card.

Update 11.0.1.1
I feel like this is a big joke.
Even more battery drain (yes, i did a factory reset).
Brightness slider issue still not fixed.
Performance still degraded (but i think there is a little bit of improvement)
Not sure about Wifi issues as i never had them.
Weird red tint on screen dimming
Still many ugly and inconsistent ui elements
Color profile is back to being broken (the yellow tint returned)
Update: I've started having the wifi disconnection issues, after 11.0.1.1 update. This is way too annoying.

Bug report 16: 07 build/14 build
- when using recents menu there is times that I'll be swiping off some apps and the preview of that app will stick there as I'm swiping it off, I'll post a reference when possible
- screen off animation still fades out to the top right and bugged
- battery style options not added for QS, cannot see battery at all now lol I use a widget on the homescreen or always on display to check battery status
- I'm lovin the graphics update it's like you turned on the lights for the rom, turn it up a bit more
- The 07 build was the most accurate and speedy release in terms of performance and graphics, the 12/14 build you released seems great as well, the only issue is that there's a dramatic difference in GPU speed I guess, I'm sure everything is optimized and in perfect working order so don't think it could be anything to do with an error occurring, whenever scrolling through and launching apps you can see the system start lagging like the device is running slow, I'd say turn up the GPU speed
- The ram available has now decreased to 5.1Gb and that's with no apps running on the previous releases there was about 6.1Gb to 6.5Gb
Update:
The ROM is now running perfect and 7Gb of ram available
@DarkJoker360 end game on this update tbh
@DarkJoker360 I'd say to overclock the CPU a bit more, I have a OnePlus 8 here and seems like it's a bit faster vs the OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren running your rom, overclock like +500mhz/1000mhz more lol let's see what greatness you can bring in the next update
Take a look at this PhoneArena article, they are claiming that the next Android 15 release will be called VanillaIceCream and that the next releases may be returning android to KitKat and Oreo... IMO if that's the case from what I've observed those releases were more about OS framework such as system UI, design, animation... After android 9 seems like it became more about developing/building more of and about the android OS, features, compatibility, implementations
Android 15 will be a plain vanilla release
Android 15 V will have the dessert nickname of Vanilla Ice Cream and it is already being used in Android Open Source Project documentation.
www.phonearena.com
At this point this device is better than the iPhone 13 series imo, much better design in terms of the screen, oneplus should've followed this path of design instead of their ugly new flagships, the punch holes in a screen look trash on any device, and their concept with the camera looks horrible makes the phone bulky

Spoiler: Unresponsiveness explanation
When I bought this phone the logic board was the only issue CPU/GPU and other hardware were broken including front and rear camera and fingerprint sensor not working, and the logic board overheating constantly, the rest of the device is basically BNIB condition including the screen, I replaced the logic board with another 7T Pro McLaren parts device I purchased, the screen was fully smashed on that device, the board and all other components were working afterwards, all other components were replaced with the 7T Pro McLaren parts devices components as well, never had any issue, cameras are working, sensors working perfectly, battery lasts 15hrs on stock rom and with this rom, everything is flawless... The fingerprint sensor is either broken or may need resyncing as this is not the same logic board as previous, the previous logic board had all these issues as I mentioned, and including the same issue with the fingerprint sensor as well which leads me to believe that the fingerprint sensor is actually just broken internally, may be burnt out somehow, I don't know because I wasn't told any details of what may have happened to this device previously, I'm very certain it was water damage though because I checked all the components and there was residue on the previous logic board CPU/GPU, the other components however were not affected although I replaced all the components anyways so basically a brand new device... Unfortunately this device has no access to the fingerprint scanner internally, it is completely sealed in the device housing and cannot replace it without prying the entire front screen off... For these past several months that I've owned this device I kept the fingerprint scanner connected to the board via it's connector in hopes that it would start working again, it did not, although the system does recognize that there's a fingerprint scanner connected... Tried to recalibrate it as well with some of the methods on xda and always getting errors along the lines of CALIBRATION FAILED, fingerprint sensor not responding... At this point I have disconnected the fingerprint scanner and my system actually runs much smoother, the unresponsiveness issues were coming from the fingerprint scanner being connected this entire time... Regardless there is no issue with my device what so ever now and my device board and components function 100% and flawless, at least I have a fully working device with face unlock and all it's greatness as it's special edition
NOTIFICATION ISSUE AND SOME PERFORMANCE ISSUES RESOLVED:
IMPORTANT: The notification issue was coming from a battery optimizing feature in settings in Battery>Battery optimization, all apps are set to "Optimise" by default when you install the ROM, not sure if the dev knows this or not. There's no option to set all the apps not to be optimized so you have to set each and all apps manually to "Don't optimise" that will resolve the notification issue, my notifications are now working perfectly. I noticed that this also resolved a lot of performance issues as well, such as the system lagging and unresponsiveness, the system now performs way faster and lag free. I noticed something that cannot be resolved is that this notification issue will still start occurring again automatically when the device is at 15%/20%, so just for the dev to know and look into. THE ROM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY WITH THIS FUNCTION, FOLLOW THE STEPS AND MAKE SURE NO APP IS USING OPTIMIZATION
Spoiler: Request
@DarkJoker360, would like to make a request to create this notification effect if possible... So it would be an option in crdroid settings/notifications, I thought you had this option already but doesn't seem so. So the request is: When a user has pop up notifications enabled and they get a notification it will of course pop up at the top AND also have an icon and text of what the notification is in the status bar... Whenever I disable the pop up notifications and I get a notification it will show the icon of the notification at the top and notify me of it, but there's no text of what the app is or what the notification is, would it be possible to then add an option in crdroid settings that would enable notifications to have text in the status bar as it would be with pop up notifications except, with pop up notifications disabled, the final product would be: whenever the user gets a notification it would have the icon and text pop up in the status bar and nothing else... I have created a reference here check it out, regular notifications, and new notifications I'm mentioning, I edited it to exactly what it should be
So basically just disable the pop up and keep the icon and text notification that displays in the status bar
Spoiler: Bug report 15
@DarkJoker360
Bug report 15: 04/06/2023
- there's a lot of flicker when scrolling through some things in the system, noticable generally but some apps don't have AS MUCH flicker, such as the browser on Google search results scrolling through its not AS NOTICABLE, most of the flicker is through system apps such as settings, google now page that has all the news, reference below
- screen off animation is bugged, it fades out to the top right of the device, and actually moves higher and lower
- the battery style options for QS is still not in the menu why have you removed it, would like the battery indicator to show in QS and not follow the status bar style
- the status bar is unresponsive at times, I have to swipe twice in order to scroll down and get in to the notification center/qs
- I feel like the rom is definitely there speed wise, in previous builds there were actual issues where the responsiveness and system speeds weren't so great, now the responsiveness and system speeds are great, the graphics and 90hz performance can be improved though; physical graphics performance is one thing that I'm mentioning, maybe a GUI, system animations performance update as well
- everything is stable though that's one thing for sure great experience throughout the general use of the rom
Spoiler: Bug report 14
Bug report 14: build 03/31/2023
- crdroid settings are back, last build was probably an error preventing some of the modifications to run...
- in the quick settings tab in crdroid settings there are some things that were removed, not sure of everything, I know for sure that the quick settings battery indicator option was removed, I usually set battery to hidden on the status bar and visible in quick settings...
- android system intelligences crashing still I'll post the link when possible https://paste.crdroid.net/5VCRyR https://paste.crdroid.net/17myYs
- screen off animation still bugged, it fades out to the top right corner of the device, and moves higher and lower at times
Spoiler: Bug report 13
Bug report 13: build 03/25/2023
- many settings are missing including status bar customizations, monet settings, I'm sure you're aware of this would be great to see these settings re-added in the next update
- Settings/Notifications and Battery, are not accessible, when tapping on the Notifications, and Battery menu in settings it FCs...
- Android System Intelligence stopped working is being prompted at times when unlocking from the lockscreen and general use
- screen lock fades out improperly still, it actually fades out higher and lower at times...
I installed 9.3 alpha in a new install, not from the updater I'll update with any other bugs
@DarkJoker360 just letting you know any other settings cannot be located, crdroid settings section is not in the settings app, I think you know that though because I see you've added some settings directly in the sections instead of them being seperate in the crdroid settings menu. There's still a lot of settings I cannot find in the settings app that were in the previous build, this is alpha so take your time.
Spoiler: Bug report 12
Bug report 11: Feb 17/24
At this point I never want to update the ROM again. I updated to the Feb 17 build and I'm done, talk about speed and accuracy, great experience the 9.2 build has to be the ultimate release.
I updated the ROM through the updater and it worked flawlessly, just takes a lot of time to finalize, over 45 mins - an hour to finalize fell asleep during the process and woke up to it prompting me to reboot.
- The new 9.2 update screen off animation fades out to the volume control switch instead of the power button as it was corrected previously
- the location/privacy indicators at the top right are still cut out, the green dot isn't although when it expands and shows the larger icon like the actual location icon it's still cut out at the top right. May to to reposition the status bar icons and time
Update:
- I'll reinstall a fresh copy of the ROM from recovery to see if that fixes it, the fade out effect was fading out to the volume switch as mentioned before, now it's fading out even higher than that for some reason. This is after the Feb 24 update... I suggest that maybe you can make options for different fade out effects in crdroid settings. So default would be to fade out to the power button, then switch it up a bit have options to fade out upwards or downwards on the screen, opposite side, or fade out toward the middle of the screen would be nice...
- don't really like the blur that was added, would be a good option through crdroid settings, but since it was added and cannot be modified in terms of strength, seems and feels generic
@DarkJoker360
- Checked out the iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 pro models, this device is basically just as good if not better than the iPhone 14, the difference with an iPhone 14 pro however would be that the screen is 120hz. I feel like this ROM outperforms the iPhone 14 though, the 90hz on the iPhone 14 feels slow now that I did some more research though I'm pretty sure the iPhone 14 is 60hz so much inaccurate information out there since it's release, and from stock oos11 I feel it's the same experience that the device feels slower than it should be, with this ROM it's so accurate if you put it beside the iPhone 14/14 pro you'd think this device is 100hz. The only thing is the brightness on this device actually seems a bit low, as I turn on outdoor mode looks much better, outdoor mode and lower the brightness a bit. Might want to adjust brightness a bit
- Reticker is fine, is there any other effects you can add for the notifications, like a fade in and fade out effect
- I notice the system and screen actually becomes faster everytime I plug in a charger to this device, not sure if it's with all McLarens, or something to do with the ROM
Spoiler: Bug report 11
@DarkJoker360
Bug report 11: Feb 03
- Android system intelligence crashes at random times, does not affect any thing just get the notification, reference below
- The system is super fast, touch responsiveness and flicker issues I mentioned were resolved
- Seems like there's a tad bit of flicker with the touch...
- At this point the 90hz experience doesn't get any better, the way you set it up for this build is ultra fast, responsive, and acceptably smooth in my opinion...
- Recents menu crashing again, worse this time it crashes after a few quick swipes, completely glitched; happens everytime I use recents
- There's a clear button that can be enabled through crdroid settings, I've enabled it and the clear button actually displays on ambient display and the lockscreen. This occurs when you swipe into the notification center while the device is unlocked, and while in that menu, lock the device, the clear all button will remain at the bottom of the screen and be usable on the ambient display and lockscreen
- The battery life is pretty bad now decreases fast, not sure if its from some of the optimizations maybe something's causing it. If its from overclocking the cpu/gpu or increasing the clock speeds from the normal levels you had in previous builds, I'd say to decrease it a bit then IMO previously would have at least almost 15 hrs of usage, now about 9 hrs
Overall I've noticed that with this builds responsiveness and updates, the graphics processes much better than all other builds you've released, the battery life could be improved though

Spoiler: Bug report 10
@DarkJoker360
Bug report 10: Jan 27
- The screen flicker seems to be resolved, the system doesn't feel as snappy as the previous build though, there should be an intensity increase to have a snappy and speedy experience, for example: when I enter in my password on the lockscreen, whenever pressing each digit it would literally look and feel very snappy like there's a pop upon pressing the digits, same thing with using the keyboard, and general system UI use... On this build it's like the screen flicker has been greatly reduced, although does feel a bit slower in terms of snappy and responsiveness to the touch like it has a lag of some sort
- The overall system FPS is actually reducing more often, it's able to stay at 90 FPS although decreases to 88, and 85 lowest 78 more often, the system never did this in the previous build and I can confirm that with hours of usage with an FPS indicator, it's almost like it never hit 85 and lower anytime on the previous build
- location/privacy indicators at the top right are still cut out at the top right edge of the screen
Update:
I'm not using a live wallpaper btw in case you would be speculating that... This build is super fast no doubt about that, the touch lag is quite annoying though, it's like I'm using the system UI and anything I tap is literally delayed by a millisecond
Spoiler: Bug report 9
Bug report 9: Jan 20
This Jan 20 release is basically a checkpoint, most stable and high speed build.
- The location sensor notification is still partly cut out from the top right edge of the device
- There's a setting that comes with the OnePlus settings for anti flicker, which does make a big difference, is there any way to turn up this anti flicker setting to strengthen its reduction. I still notice the screens small flicker
- Is there any way to increase the overall FPS, if so there can be a drastic change visually, I see it can normally hit a solid 90 and can decrease to just below 88 in some apps. If you can unlock the frame rate cap to hit a higher number that would be nice, 90 all throughout AnTuTu benchmark and is impressive
Spoiler: Bug report 8
@DarkJoker360
Bug report 8: Jan 14
- Not sure if it's just me, the Jan 14 build feels slower than usual, the last Dec 30/Jan 08 build was a much better experience, although I'm saying that, this Jan 14 build is the most stable and fully functional, overall would say a tune up is needed to get that ultra fast feeling and experience, I want the phone to feel like a s22 ultra
- auto brightness is great but not perfect still, the transition from brightness levels can be choppy
- The shorts or TikTok clips has been resolved...
- Discord is now having trouble playing clips whevener I tap to view it will just show that it's loading
- I noticed the status bar items clock, wifi, mobile data has been repositioned, might want to slightly reposition it a bit more because the location notification is a bit cut off from the edge of the screen at the top right
Spoiler: Bug report 7
@DarkJoker360
Bug report 7: Dec 30/Jan 06 build
- The network issues were resolved in the Dec 03 build... I just installed the new Dec 30/just installed the Jan 06 build afterwards and the network issues are occurring worse than ever, shorts not working, reels, TikTok, etc... Reference included below
- The Dec 30 build has to be the best build yet in terms of speed and smoothness despite the network issues, I beg you not to change anything in future builds not sure if the Jan 06 build is different although the Dec 30 build was the best experience by far... Jan 06 feels like you've reverted it a bit, funny thing is I couldn't tell if the Dec 30 build was an overclock or something but by far was the best 90hz/FPS speed and smoothness experience
Spoiler: Bug report 6
Bug Report 6: 12/20/2022
- Flashlight seems a bit too bright, could burn internally
- CPU/GPU could not be increased, I was wrong last report, if you did increase the levels for this update I'd recommend to keep CPU/GPU levels the same as previous builds was perfect, this build seems like battery is decreasing fast... Definitely needs to be decreased to normal levels... Or if possible make a toggle for high performance and normal performance, it's actually not too good to overclock this specific device to a high value because it could lead to hardware issues and screen burning, further more could kill the screen, my device is in perfect working condition and the screen is perfect and flawless...
- Device is still being recognized as a Pixel 5 by services
- Swiping off apps fast in the recents menu will FC the system UI and kick to the lockscreen
- Gapps still doesn't work properly from the NikGapps website, I have a perfect Gapps package though, Google assistant works as well
- Sound is WAY to low
- The previous recents menu problem is one thing although there another issue as well, so there are times I'll be normally swiping off all the apps, and when they're all cleared, by the last one, it will also FC the system UI and kick me to the lockscreen
I noticed with all previous builds that if they're used for a long period of time, like over a month, the ROM will start becoming slower and actually a bit unstable, as in some of the UI and functions will start becoming glitchy... Not sure if it's a system cache issue, temporary files, configs
Spoiler: Bug report 5
Bug report 5, Dec. 3 build:
- CPU/GPU can be turned up a bit
- auto brightness still doesn't transition through brightness levels smoothly, I'll be using the device and brightness increases or decreases without effect, I do see a difference though in the new update, still needs work
- the device operates quite slow during a call whether I'm on speaker phone or not, apps are slow, menus are slow
- embedded videos and shorts still have the same issue where they cannot load or freeze
and can only hear audio
- google assistant recognizes the device as a Pixel 5, and referrs to it as a Pixel 5, it was letting me know the morning forecast and gave me a heads up that my Pixel 5 is at 38% and needs charging
- the clock system icon should be a live animation of the time, it's not functioning properly and frozen at different times
- some weird thing happens where I will lock my device and after let's say 10 mins I turn on the display from the power button and cannot unlock my phone, the lockscreen doesn't load up, the lockscreen is blank with my wallpaper or at times blank without a wallpaper and not usable, there's no options, can't swipe to my password, just blank and have to restart the system... Is actually a big problem happens every so often, screenshot below
- Everything works flawless in terms of UI although I do feel that now some things can be optimized to make the UI and system feel more interactive and snappy than it already is...
@DarkJoker360
So funny thing is that NikGapps google assistant actually still doesn't work if you download it from the NikGapps website, I confirmed that because I factory reset and installed the new Dec. 3 build a week ago and thought it would be a good idea if I just downloaded the latest Dec. Package of NikGapps, well it wasn't, and actually the newest package of NikGapps actually causes the ROM to glitch and assistant doesn't work with the same error that it's not compatible with this device. What I ended up doing was then factory resetting and reinstalling the ROM again, this time I used the previous NikGapps build I downloaded on Nov. 25, booted in to the system and the setup was flawless, Gapps were flawless, system works flawless, google assistant works no problem with that Gapps build. I would recommend that you would make your own Gapps package in that case, that's totally up to you though... If you would like me to upload the build that I have that works perfectly let me know
Spoiler: Bug report 4
Bug report 4: 11/18/22 build
- I installed the ROM with a factory reset, downloaded newest Gapps available and installed it, when the ROM booted in, the setup was force closing at connecting to a wifi network, and Google play services were not working properly at all, many force closes. Turns out the latest Gapps on nikgapps website doesn't work with this ROM for now, just a heads up. I resolved the issue by reinstalling the ROM and using the nikgapps package I downloaded on 11/10/22 and that worked. The rom works great
- the network issues with embeded videos and shorts not loading or freezing is still an issue
- the notification problem still occurs where I cannot receive any notifications at all, if I disable and enable wifi and reconnect it refreshes the queue/syncs/idk and notifys me with a bunch of notifications that were not showing up previously and works properly although after exactly every 30 mins it starts occurring again and cannot receive any notifications from any other apps except some system apps like text messages... Lol very strange problem
- when unlocking the device without a passcode lock set up, the lockscreen transitions in to the home screen, and has no effect/animation, just directly moves from one page to the other without a transition effect/animation
- system UI glitch: when using the recents menu to kill some apps, I'll swipe like a few apps off and the whole system force closes and boots me to the lockscreen
This new build is much more stable than any other builds though
If I didn't list anything from the last bug reports then it's most likely resolved
Spoiler: Bug report 3
Bug report 3: 11/11/22 build
- proximity sensor has issues when turning on the display from in use, it does not fade in, but lags back in... It could normally fade in at times though
- proximity sensor could slow down the system while in use at anytime
- network issues such as videos not loading at all, videos freezing and can only hear audio, in discord channel videos, TikTok clips, YouTube shorts, article page videos... Anything like normal YouTube videos/normal videos that are not embedded, thumbnails, shorts, work perfectly
- auto brightness works perfectly although does not transition smoothly will just move solid from one brightness to another without a transition effect, that is only at times though
- crdroid settings: navigation bar option does not work, turning it off or on does not affect anything visually, it disables the back gestures
- battery estimate replaces the battery percent and has to be disabled in order to show the battery percentage in QS panel; would be good if I can see battery percent and battery estimate
- the screen on and off animation should fade in and out coresponding to the power button location on the device. The reasoning for this is because on the Pixel 7 Pro the animation fades in and out from the power button location
- As a known issue I've noticed from each build, proximity sensor does cause a lot of lag/system glitches if it's in use or not working properly... So to keep it as reference although doesn't really affect usage experience because it performs flawlessly during general use...
- Live caption does not work and prompts that an update is required. "Update your software to enable this feature." the update cannot be downloaded
New: - I have a phone mount and use my phone in landscape mode at times for YouTube videos, I use the auto rotate/portrait option, normally I have it in portrait mode, I had my phone in landscape oreintation with the mount for a long period of time probably about 15 mins, and was on the homescreen but my phone is set to portrait mode, so homescreen is still displaying in portrait mode in a landscape orientation with the mount, the phone started becoming a little bit hotter than usual, definitely nothing to worry about though, and I opened an app still in landscape mode, I rotated it with the manual option and noticed my phone was running ultra slow... I took my device off of the mount and swiped to the homescreen, the entire device was ultra slow, lagging, and unresponsive. I restarted the device and it solved the issue. Gyroscope sensor issue
- I put my device in my pocket and seems to heat up a bit after a while, I have to restart it to resolve
New:
- whenever I copy and paste text, it doesn't bring the options up as soon as I select the text, instead it highlights the text and shows no options, I have to then hold down on the text in order to get options for it
- my notifications are always delayed and can never receive a message in time/any notifications, I don't seem to be receiving all the notifications as usual, checked all the settings for apps and notification settings and is good to me nothing that looks like it can be causing that, very anoying and cannot be resolved, I'll just wait till the next build and reinstall then lol not sure what's causing it, like I'm getting notifications I should've got previously a day after
IMPORTANT: The notification problem seems to be coming from something in wifi, if I disable wifi and enable wifi I will get all the notifications that I'm not receiving... it's like the notifications are in queue and when I disable and enable the wifi again it sends all/whole bunch of the notifications that I haven't received. @DarkJoker360 --PARTLY RESOLVED: There wasn't any settings that look to be causing that although I disabled Unlimited photos storage, alert slider notifications, noisy notifications, and my notifications are working now although the same issue starts happening and I have to disable and enable the wifi in order to refresh my notifications and receive them, I timed how long before the issue starts occurring again, the issue starts occurring exactly every 30 mins, previously there was no way to resolve this... Strange issue
I can say that the first build did not have these network issues where it did not load up TikTok clips, YouTube shorts, discord channel clips, and page embedded clips, etc... This 11/11/22 build is the most stable by far though.
Spoiler: Bug report 2
Bug report 2: November build 11/02/2022
The new build is great much better than the previous of course, graphics is great as well some issues though, on a fresh install, tested from the release
The ROM needs face unlock
Update: 11/10 - November build 11/02/2022
The issues in terms of slow system speeds have been resolved, there's some power saving options which were enabled and I have disabled them from the settings and the device is now working extremely better. I disabled battery saver and the options associated with it, along with disabling the battery manager option as well
Dynamic System Update does work and perfectly. For users that are looking for a complete stock rom, that would be a great way to run it. It's completely vanilla. The google services work on DSU as well as the "Hey Google" function for the assistant.
Overall after I have disabled all power saving options through settings the graphics are stable and working perfectly, the unresponsiveness does occur though that's one thing as well, I have noted the bugs that are still occuring in the list. The issues that I listed about slow system speeds still could occur, so keep that as a reference, the network issues and whatever else I listed definitely should be addressed as well, some apps cannot properly load up things and uploading is unavailable in a lot of apps now... Proximity sensor works perfectly although still has issues... Of course I will factory reset and install the newest build you've uploaded soon
- google assistant "Hey Google" feature is incompatible with this device
- the bug is that while scrolling it's lagging a bit/flickering/unresponsive at times like when entering my passcode on lockscreen is unresponsive, scrolling through apps, inside pages and anything in the system, could be the clock of the gpu, noticed the anti flicker option in livedisplay settings and does make a difference although still is an issue on the new build there must be something you can do to reduce it and make the graphics perfect, in terms of that needs a lot of work reference below --in terms of the flickering that's resolved after disabling the power saving options, the unresponsiveness still occurs
- this builds graphics are definitely an improvement overall, the graphics drivers from the last build were much smoother and responsive though. On this build when navigating through the system menus fast and typing the touch screen becomes unresponsive. i.e I could be typing something and the touch will go unresponsive for a sec and miss a key, in terms of that needs a lot of work --still occurring
- around the homescreen app drawer search panel is fully filled out while scrolling into it, then when inside the app drawer the filled out space disappears, reference below is a system UI glitch
- whether I select the navigation bar option in crdroid settings to be enabled or not, it doesn't affect anything
- pocket detection is really invasive while enabled at least get rid of that annoying detection notification that triggers everytime I cover the sensor lol
- full screen apps not showing up in the list
- both top side corners of the notification center has an uncolored area noticable most in dark mode
- auto brightness works great at anytime, it will start switching brightness levels constantly though at times
Update:
- system animations seem slower, lagging/may not work properly as well, i.e proximity sensor will normally fade back in to the system from the screen being inactive, instead of fading in, it transitions from low brightness to the current brightness level and lags back in to the system
- to sum it up there's a lot of graphics issues which are mostly to do with unresponsiveness and lag
- network error, some apps that use the wifi/LTE start buffering and videos are not loading, I cannot upload any files on XDA. i.e youtube or tiktok starts not loading videos anymore or freezing on playbacks and only audio can be heard
- does the clock of the cpu/gpu increase when the charger is plugged in? The device feels way faster and better in performance when a charger is connected, or could just be me --still occuring
- when there are many notifications and I'm swiping them off the animation will lag before it's completely removed, if there are very few notifications it will swipe them off normally and with a smooth animation
- whenever receiving a call and using the device it will lag and become unresponsive, such as typing something and receiving a call, the screen will be unusable and usable, while receiving the call and it shows the notification to answer it
- if the proximity sensor is being used/in a call and using the device on speaker, the device will function very slow and choppy
- proximity sensor stops working after many calls, when I'm in a call the proximity sensor will stop responding although still able to continue the call, a restart is needed to resolve the issue
Your browser is not able to display this video.
Spoiler: Bug report 1
Bug report 1:
I've factory reset the ROM and reinstalled it just so that I can make sure that it is fully functional and to have a fresh install on my device, more of the bugs that I was experiencing have been resolved although there are still all of the bugs that I have listed here. The second install is much better and the ROM is running much smoother and functional than previously.
- custom screen off animation in crdroid settings does not work, does not change anything even prior to a restart
- clock style selection works, except for hidden, when hidden is selected it force closes from that menu in crdroid settings and reverts it to the previous selection
- clock keeps disappearing after unlocking the device from the lockscreen/keeps disappearing when using apps that hide the status bar, other status bar icons disappear as well after navigating back to the home screen
- Google assistant "Hey Google" function is not supported, installed Gapps with Google play services, Google assistant does not work at all with this rom, the new Continued Converstation feature was recently introduced as well
new:
- proximity sensor has some kind of issue could be in use for no reason during system use and covered it with my hand while scrolling through apps, turns the screen brightness full and disables brightness control of the system, moving the brightness to any value won't work anymore, a restart cannot fix it either strangely. If the you make a phone call and cover the proximity sensor to make the screen inactive and uncover it to active, it will solve the issue and bring the brightness control back to normal and usable. --resolved after factory reset and install
- The stock screen off/on animation should be adjusted, it fades out to the top right corner of the phone, I believe it should fade out to the power button location of this device
- system ui/framework tune ups are needed I feel like there could be some mods/android 13 features that interfere with general functionality, like tapping and going in to different menus and apps could experience any sort of small glitch to occur...
- at times I need to restart the device because everything starts lagging after keeping the device powered on for a day or so, could be the memory becoming full and requires a restart, after a restart it works smooth again
- reTicker notifications sometimes show up transparent looks bugged, that's with the use app colored background enabled
- it's noticable after a while, if you take a look at the top of the notification center the edges for it have some white discoloring not sure if it's from the dev or google, reference in screenshot with no notifications, take a look at the edges of the notification center
- fullscreen apps not displaying in menu
- system management improvements are needed the rom starts lagging at times
Nothing else
Suggestions:
- status bar icons positioning, such as to reposition wifi and cell service to center, left, or right.
- add some more fonts such as segoe ui
- reTicker settings, for text size, notification colors, animations
- change all text colors in system option, along with monet settings I guess
- option to make status bar inaccessible in lockscreen
- wallpaper motion effect
- resize the area for quick pulldown to a smaller area
- make the back gesture resized as well for the upper or lower sides of the device or back gesture sensitivity decrease/increase options, everytime I swipe to get to the left more options panel of an app I cannot and have to tap it instead
- I know we cannot overclock the screen from 90hz to 100hz-120hz , force peak refresh rate is one option, is there any way to make the screen more responsive... through a driver mod... I notice that with custom monet settings I'm able to speed up the ROM and display responsiveness/fps
- ambient display custom brightness setting would be great
- add seconds to the lockscreen clock
- brief notification/option in notification menu to undo the last cleared notification. I.e if I swipe a notification off fast and did not read it, would be annoying and would like to undo that so it appears again. --google has added a notification center history option in settings though which is convenient
- notification center clear all button counts how many notifications were cleared. Would make this a crdroid settings option
- option to change status bar icon colors wifi, mobile...
Update:
- options to switch to low profile battery saving mode or high gpu/cpu clock for performance
- reticker animations do not fade out at times, would look nice if the animation can fade in and fade out
11/13/22
- automatic pin unlock, whenever I enter my pin I have to confirm it in order to unlock the device
- opacity adjustment of home screen widgets and applications
- The face unlock automatic scan is the normal and usual face unlock... Is it possible to create a function to enable a manual face unlock, so if you always want to use your pincode instead of both face unlock+pincode, you can either have the option to enter your pincode, or from the lockscreen, select a face unlock option
The ROM is definitely perfect though considering all other roms are mostly buggy and don't seem to function properly in general, xtended v2 does not work on this device, aside from that would recommend this rom over others considering all other roms are completely bugged and not worth to install
Have your cdroid 13 recovery flashed to both slots. I keep getting error and the process aborts when a attempt to sideload the ROM zip. I tried sideloading the copy partitions zip and it was successful. It says there is a problem with the Rom zip when I attempt to sideload it though. Any ideas?

Flash stock oos11 with MSM tool and system update before flashing crdroid otherwise will get errors
Redownload the crdroid ROM and follow the devs guide
Yes sir. That was what I had to do to get your Android 12.1 running. Thank you.
Msm tool is erroring out at 6 seconds. Showing No valid trg ID and param preload.
It's all my fault. Been trying to make this happen on my 7 pro instead of my 7t pro. Love your builds and the fact that I can make the icons big as hell.
Is the option to not have the phone show up as a Pixel 6 Pro no longer a toggle?
The rom is now official. You can dirty flash from previous 9.0 build but NOT from 8.x build
Omg it's like I have a new phone! The T-mo branding trash is gone.. great work!
Can anyone tell me if androids hearing aid support is in this ROM? Under accessibility
decided to flash it anyway, yes it has it, thanks. brand new phone! thank you for your efforts! looking forward to more releases!
Anyone else see this camera bug when turning phone to landscape? Or is it not a bug? Edit: only does it when double pressing the power button to open camera from screen off
im having a slight issue of the play store giving me a you are offline warning despite being on either wifi or lte i tried clearing storage and cache on the play store and play services and updating both but neither worked
removed
Hi, just downloaded the ROM and am very happy with it. I have noticed some minor bugs/issues that you might want to look into:
1) The status bar does not adapt to the color of certain apps, making it feel a little janky
2) When using gesture navigation, swiping from the edges to go back brings out the status bar first before allowing the user to go back, effectively making it redundant and less smooth. It also feels as if the gestures are not as responsive as it should be, working only 80% of the time
3) The status bar clock and date sometimes disappears, reappearing only after pulling down the status bar (mine is centered)
4) When using fingerprint to unlock the phone, the whole screen lights up, instead of just the area where the fingerprint sensor is, which is mildly annoying and does somewhat hurt the eyes
5) I am currently on the October 13 build, and am unable to upgrade to the December 20 build as it stays at "finalizing package installation" whenever I try to install it, with no progress whatsoever. After some time, the system updater crashes, and I have to reboot the phone
I can provide a log from matlog if needed. If there are more specific instructions, I would gladly try to oblige. Do not expect too much of me, as I am not a dev by any means, just a dude interested in breaking his phone.
Cheers!
