NOTE: The settings in the general tab are only functional in kernels that have implemented the simple sysfs interfaces for usb fast charging and audio boost. If you toggle them, its not going to break anything, but they won't work and the app may crash. If you would like your kernel dev to implement the interfaces, please direct them to these two commits:

NOTE2: It is a requirement of the HAVS adjustment that the kernel you are using has the HAVS sysfs interface implemented. If it does not, it will not work.
NOTE3: Before using, please delete any boot scripts you may have in /etc/init.d that toggle any of the settings this app controls.

Hi,
Good job, just one thing, i use Eviollet kernel (svs) and there's a step at 128 mhz.
The apps doesn't show these step.
It Would be great if you can implement it.
Otherwise i found no bug.
Thx in advance.

The app skips the first frequency because on a lot of phones its a.useless frequency like 19mhz. Thanks for letting me know though. I will add an exception and upload a new version later.

Minor change to no longer skip the first frequency. On many phones the first frequency is a useless frequency like 19mhz so the app was set up to skip that frequency. This is only a temporary fix until I change it to display only the available frequencies instead of all of them.
Sounds interesting, will have a go
Hi,
Thx chad0989, now it works at 128 mhz

The eviollet Kernel implements AXI @ 128Mhz, which drops the bus down to 19Mhz which potentially could save more battery

But the actual cpu speed still never drops below 128mhz if I'm not mistaken (at least thats how it is on the inc, its possible to enable the use 19mhz cpu speed, but the phone is unusable). So the cpu voltage for 19mhz would never be used. I have changed the app now though to show all cpu frequencies available for use, so if you did enable the use of 19mhz cpu speed (you have to comment out a line in the acpuclock file), it would show up.
Hopefully that clears up confusion.
IncrediControl v1.3
Major changes include:
Ad Free has now been turned into a key that removes the ads from the free version. This allows donors who have downloaded the ad free version from the site to update through the market.
HAVS voltage checking. Minimum voltages can no longer be set higher than maximum voltages.
Boot voltages are now stored in the application’s data directory. Boot settings will now persist if you update your ROM or restore the application and data from a backup.
IncrediControl v1.4:
This is mostly a bug fix release but I have also added:
Automatic detection of the minimum and maximum voltages supported by your kernel
Unless any more bugs arise, the next release will have some new goodies to play with...

I'm making an enquiry for a friend who uses his HTC desire with RCMix S v2.0 Evolutionary Sense using SNQ v05 kernel. Does this Rom / kernel meet the InvrediControl system requirements?
One other question, in other utils I've used in the past they also supply a "reset" zip which can be used to revert the settings back to default in the event if instability/freeze (requires flash from recovery). Do you see value in creating a similar zip for over agressive UV?
Thanks again for a wonderful utility. Can't wait to try it.

I don't believe that kernel has the sysfs interface for adjusting voltages. You can still give it a shot though. The app will let you know if the kernel doesn't have the correct interface.
I also have a reset zip. It's on the site and there is a link in the OP.
SNQ anyone?

The kernel dev has to implement the interface in order to use the app. Since I don't believe that the source for the GB kernel has been released yet for the desire, the dev won't be able to implement the interface until it is.

Thanks for the heads up. Next time I have access to the phone I will install and see what unfolds. But from what you said I'm not expecting much with SNQ.
Maybe time to suggest to my friend a new Rom
Indeed it is better... ive used setCPU for since i first starting modding, and recently a friend turned me onto SystemTunerPRO & i gotta say its a million times better!
OC's ALWAYS stay, never gets killed by the system, UV's correctly, and has awesome organization!
Has the ability to controll what apps launch on boot, control memory usage, edit the MinFree settings, adjust the task-killer, just wow... yeah too much to say.
I suggest this WAY OVER setCPU... you should check it out...
https://market.android.com/details?...ult#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNjYzcxLnBtdy5wcm8iXQ..
(if you dont want to pay the measly $5... Google for it)
-or if you use something better... tell us about it.
Imho, if you like the app and use it, you should just pay for it. The author has put time and effort into the product that has benefited you. The money he gets may inspire him to make more or better products.
Bought this immediately.
It trumps; Taskiller, SetCPU, Startup Auditor & Titanium Backup. I've uninstalled all off those.
It's an all-in-one interface with very simple and direct options. Not recommended for Android newbs. This can and will brick your **** if you don't know what you're doing. I love it. Excellent app.

1. task killers kill your battery, not your tasks
- by killing tasks, you are forcing android to kill then reload applications that would normally save more battery by being left in system memory (this removes the need to reload data)
2. what about system tuner pro makes it better than TiBU??

3. yes. VC is by far the easiest to use and if you use it correctly(usually by itself), you will have no problems
4. system tuner is a heavy user of system resource...the ONLY feature i've found that it has that others dont (at least i havent found a replacement yet) is its ability to display current CPU frequency...i used system tuner pro alot when i was undervolting my cpu and stress testing so i could see how hard the phone was working
The *Nix philosophy: Do one thing and do it well. I used System Tuner and found it's interface to be awful/ugly, and didn't really fulfill any need that a more focused app didn't. System Tuner really can't do all the things TiBu can, and voltage settings should never be "killed" by your phone since they're written to file.
I still prefer SetCPU. I like an app to be organized and the one you recommend is not. It's messy and sloppy.
There is NO backup app that comes close to being as perfect and bad ass as Titanium Backup.
Can't get STP to save on reboot completed
Hope this thread still attracts some attention, so I don't have to clutter up threads with a new on on same program
Using Bricked V5 kernel and Insert Coin Sense 4 Beta 12 ROM
Both STP and Antutus' CPU Master do not save selected settings (max / min speed, voltages etc) over reboots, although this is selected (on STP have "on boot completed" selected, and on CPU Master it's a tickbox as with SetCPU)
Only SetCPU saves my preferences over reboot.
Can anyone tell me how to overcome this. In particular I want STP to work over restarts, so I can tweak voltages as well as clock speeds
Edit: Oh dang I found this thread searching for STP, and overlooked it is a Samsung thread,. Doh!. Will repost in Sensation forum

TB dev started developping this app when Android started existing and receives a lot of support from Google. Yes it's far more advanced: the only feature that STP doesn't have (yet ) is the multi-version backups.
Messy and sloppy... Maybe, a matter of opinion and taste. No question on that.

Interesting... Have you contacted the devs of those apps to see if they can help? When you tested these, did you kept all 3 apps installed and configured?
I believe everyone is entitled to have preference, but know one thing for all 3 devs it's the same complexity: every kernel, every phone behaves differently. Not to mention ROMs or even possible user errors.
And as you have a Sensation, STP was partly developped on this device, and this device requires a specific work-around to be able to read and write CPU settings!
If you do want STP to work and are willing to spend a little time investigating, contact the dev I know him and he will do everything to help (I know cause it's me).

2 philosophy: some users prefers all in one apps, some prefers app that focus on one thing.
My 2 cents: the more apps, the more consumption you get. The worth example is apps reading battery data... If you have one that reads it ok, if you have 5 apps: 5 times the consumption.
Noted a user saying a task killer is bad: if you know how to configure it it's much better than the Android integrated one which will kill widget apps at will and blindly or even apps you use frequently but will always leave Google's app running even you never use them!
And STP can configure its own task-killer and the OOM Android integrated one.
STP is less than one year old, and is only my second app in Java and on Android. Still a lot to add to it, and still some imperfections, but working on it.
Now I fully understand all opinions expressed here. They are very reasonable too.

I have grown to like all in one apps, such as this (system tuner) there is another that I'd like to point out called ROM toolbox, I use it for everything, back up apps, root browser, ad manager, boot animation installer, voltage controller, mem controller, ect. It's nearly got a function for everything, and I think people should take a look at it, it's nice, and all my stuff would be lost without it

Looking for tweaks for system tuner pro.
I'm using system tuner pro on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 and really enjoy it so far. I also use Titanium Backup and SetCPU which both do exactly what I need them to. I use stp mainly for the ability to monitor my cpu, memory, ect. I am looking for tweaks to set to get my tablet running even smoother. Right now I'm running stock HC 3.2 ROM with pershoot's kernel oc to 1.4ghz. What can I do in stp to optimize my settings further? Changes to governor, on demand? SD cache size and IO scheduler? That type of thing. I would appreciate any helpful tips especially since the developer has been on this thread and seems to be very helpful. Thanks.

Thanks was looking for a site to learn more about this app! I am a new user to the andriod platform and find this app a great resource. Thanks for the great app and keep up the great work. :good:
Cheers
p.s. I have the Pro version
Great App thankyou .
I'm new-ish to using this as my main control app, although I bought it over a year ago,but unless your almost Of dev standard it can get a bit confusing, it's looking and is easier to use now smart phone screens are alot bigger.
I do still use T.B for certain things it is already setup with old backups and cloud feature use,I realize this app can do most but I've always used T.B.
Anyway my question probably easy but I'm using a dual core cpu but can't find how to change cpu1, I can change cpu 0 and see the frequecies for both but only the sliders for cpu0!
I've just thought my phone is rooted but locked bootloader so maybe because I'm using stock kernel maybe it's only letting me change 1cpu?
Its not even showing sliders for 2nd cpu though . e
Any help appreciated.
I'll probably need more help but I want to get this sorted 1st .
Since I stopped using multi task killers ,auto memory killer pro,cpu control (set cpu ) n so on, now using System Tuner Pro, Juice Defender Plus and Tit Backup Pro that's all I'm able to find then address issues so much easier.
Also Dev is very helpful ,I left Comment on play review and was emailed within a day ,so thanks A1 customer service .Thank dev and any one who can help me.
thank you for your mind bendingly difficult work on this app!

The default is what's been configured on the Kernel installed, either by manufacturer or dev on XDA. The recommended is actually some settings that have "proven" to work on most devices. Make sure to have a NANDROID backup or a way to recover in case it doesn't work for you. Once applied you can review the changes (they appear in blue) and reset them as you wish. It also resets completely on reboot to be safe, until you press the 'on boot' button to restore them on each reboot.
PS: If you like System Tuner, you might love Android Tuner, the merging of System Tuner and Battery Monitor Widget. If so there's a special offer/discount for existing users.
In the market? Or can I purchase direct from your site (preferred).
What is the function of the I/O scheduler and the difference between noop/deadline/cfq?
BTW, I don't just like STP I love it! I'm constantly fiddling with it. Seems like a very complicated project. I will get the other after I submit this post and check it out. Thanks bro!

Most of my apps can only be purchased on Play Market for now. Android Tuner is available on SlideME now, which offers various payment methods (PayPal, Amazon, etc).
I used to sell on AndroidPIT, but they are very bad for business so I stopped, and I would strongly recommend not to purchase with them, only means troubles. SlideME offers guarantees like on PlayStore, which AP doesn't.
That said, I might publish my other apps on SlideME if it turns out well.
As for IO scheduler, it's the way the kernel will organize (schedule) IO operations on SD cards, noop, deadline and cfq are the most frequently available and used. deadline is said to be the most effective in a multi-tasking environment, whereas noop might create lags in some circumstances. Opinion and experiences differ largely, so might be best to test them.
PS: I would be happy to sell direct, but that requires an infrastructure I don't have. Relying on PlayStore or other distributor makes it easy to publish and also distributes updates.
Thank you sir, the only reason I was wondering about an alternative place of purchase is because, well long story short, my buddy shared a launcher apk with me and the play store got into my phone and froze not only the app, but my whole phone. After reboot all was fine minus the app. I guess it seemed kind of like a search and siezure with out a warrant. I felt a bit slighted and thought I would run an experiment and see if I can produce a comparable experience with all my various types of tech mediums without a single shred of google interface of any kind....I have to admit, it is not easy, they have really intertwined themselves with eanything. No, I'm not paranoid, just trying something new.
BTW, GOOD FN JOB WITH AT!!! Quite an amazing job you have done, any others besides the two? You ought somehow do a game of sorts, like an android app building or developer challenge/puzzle type thing with the purpose of training greenhorns interested in learning and honing veteran skills as well. Sorry for the spam, again thanks, and nice work.
Ps, I did relapse a lil and purchase AT from google...sshhh, don't tell anyone!haha

Hey yall I have a newbie q and a for you
Im new to overclocking!
I had my phone unlocked, rooted, and they flashed a custom rom that overclocks the device form 600mhz stock to 796mhz.
HTC DEsire C:
Android 4.0.3
Sense 4.0
Slim Sense 1.0
My question is..by default the cpu speed is 796mhz now. When I whipe the phone with factory data reset, it still runs at max speed. Is this because the kernel is set to this by default? This is the max I want to run at, and basically apps like CPU Tuner are only underclocking the device? When I use CPU Tuner, Min is set to 122mhz and max is 796mhz. Also If I change the max cpu speed form an app, will it conflict with the kernel that runs at 796 by default? can I change the max cpu speed to any supported MHz I want through an app?
I would also love a few tips from the pros.
THankyou kindly.

Yes. Since the kernel is set to that speed by default, it'll stay so until you change it manually. CPU control apps may only do that since the kernel only allows that speed as the max (so there's nowhere but down ). There will be no conflict. You can only change it to frequencies the kernel allows.
Ty!
Perfect! thanks for the answer Theonew. Im going to play around with underclocking it
I would love to tune the cpu voltage but just don't have the cojones. Has it become safer in recent times? The guides I read on google are from a few years back. I understand there are risks like SoD sleep of death, maybe other risks too. Any tips?
Thanks again, You guys are great what a wealth of knowledge!
I love tuning.
If you do that, make sure you do it wisely. Undervolting can be dangerous if not done correctly and could damage your device. Go down in steps and use your device for a while after each step to see its stability. Do not make huge steps. Yes SoDs can occur if it is done too drastically. Read up more and try to learn as much as you can before attempting. Its only as safe as you make it .
You may also want to set profiles in SetCPU e.g. screen off - set the governor to conservative. No problem for the help .
Apps are a great way to go, especially SetCPU since you can make profiles to save battery! I would not mess with the voltage though, you can completely fry your phone permanently... I'd leave that to the pros. Chances are, the person that made the Kernal has all the voltages set properly, so you would only be messing up the work that has already been done for you... Just mess around with different profile settings on SetCPU to get the best battery life/power balance. Also, if you want to save even more battery and gain full control of your phone, check out Tasker! Tasker allows you to automate ANYTHING that you do on a regular basis, including toggling Wifi and bluetooth, and rebooting your phone daily.. or ANYTHING you can think of! Open the Music app when you plug in your headphones, turn on GPS when you open the Maps app.. the possibilities are endless! And it will save your battery! Hope this helps, good luck!
I recently updated my C1504 to the 11.A.2.23 firmware, and I have to say its good.
But there seems to be a response problem with the status/notification bar. If drops down a second-or-two after I swipe it down. Guys trust me it feels very irritating!
Has anyone else got/solved this problem?
Moreover, why did Sony remove 'headphone surround' from the audio engine?

I'm on 11.3.A.2.23 to, and... I don't have any lag at all! Everything runs smooth, no problems here. Perhaps you haven't much RAM left? The only way to make your phone a lot faster is to root it, or to unlock the bootloader(for Custom Kernels and ClockWorkMod). ofcourse there are also options for non-rooted users, but these won't help as much as the tips listed under here. So you may want to consider to root your device. Ofcourse you can also delete a few apps(and more, but these options don't have the great variery, rooted phones have.)
Warning! These tipps I give you are only for rooted users! This will only work if your device is rooted!
1. Try to hibernate(freeze, don't let it to eat up CPU speed) a few apps with Greenify. That feeling man, that feeling, Everything goes smoother! And if you open one of the apps you have hibernated, it still reacts fast! Great improvement for the crappy CPU of the E.
2. Download SetCPU. The great improvement to your phone, is more than worth a small donation to the great developer of this app. I currently have overclocked my phone to 600 mHz, while the capacity of the E's CPU only 512 is. It speeds up your device, but can kill your processor and/or battery.
3. Download Root App Delete, and remove the pre-installed crapware on your phone, like: Google(15 MB), Google +(31 MB), Chrome(25 MB). And more! You'll get a lot of new space!
If you don't want to root your device, fine! I will give you a few tips for non-rooted users, if you want to. But with a rooted phone, you can do much more to improve your speed, than with a non-rooted phone!
Cheers, and good luck!
Duh, I am rooted !

Dude....I rooted my phone a second after the update was installed.:laugh::laugh:
Already removed the bloatware, changed the CPU governor to performance (for a constant 1 GHz), Greenified everything (YES, EVERYTHING),
High Minfree values applied, 224MB of DVM cache assigned, DNS set to Google DNS, pretty much everything you can do to a locked-bootloader stock ROM that is rooted!
And hold on, the E's CPU can go upto 1008 MHz in stock kernel, not 512MHz as you mentioned.
And how did you OVERCLOCK using SetCPU ? I never found any such option
Hello,
Oh, you're right! The CPU has indeed a capacity of 1 GHz... Sorry for that. And for the overclocking part with SetCpu, just set your mininum speed to 1008 MHz and your maximum also. This can heat up your phone pretty fast, and can kill your processor, but nevermind .My tip is to go to the profiles tab and hit enable profiles. And then set up a profile that slows your CPU down when the battery is overheated(I chose 45 degrees Celsius). And set the priority to 100 so it has a privilege over other profiles you might use. This will extend your battery life! It lets me run Temple Run: Oz very smooth, and without little to zero lag, and if my battery(and also the processor) gets to warm, SetCPU slows it automatically down.
And I didn't know that your device wasn't rooted, so my apologies!
But no status bar lag here? Everything runs smooth, hatsApp responds very slow sometimes, but that's it. No other lags, or complaints. I don't have any options left? Reflash your rom maybe, but if you have a lot of apps, and data, and backup it all, for just a simple flash... Maybe not the best idea.
Cheers, and good luck!
P.S. Do you use Tasker? I love that app! It's something I would really recommend to a rooted user.
OK...

Hmm..Maybe I'll use the "repair" option to reflash the ROM, which will also let me create a backup of my original firmware (blob_fs method)
And Tasker is cool, but I just don't need it
The default kernel scheduler is really good on battery, but it slows down especially when you are not touching the screen. This is not good behavior for using a controller, as the game wont throttle the cores to max on their own.
Solution? EX Kernel Manager, set to Performance from Schedutil, set at boot. Dont use Franco per app because it uses memory you wanna keep.
The phone battery is still great with it always on performance.
*and since its always on performance mode, its always operating fast. *Obviously, but it still throttles when you need it to.
I was reading this with interest and wanting to check out the apps, so to save others that effort & time, here is what I found in a search for those specific apps above.
