I'm having trouble with my LG stylo 5 well, two of them, one, on start up, froze on LG logo, so i did the power +vol. down, it turned off, and won't come back on.. won't charge battery, nothing, I took battery out, charged it, tested plug, it's not charging when plugged it to. charger, I held down buttons with battery out to drain all power, put back together, still nothing.. its on tracfone
the 2nd stylo 5, I think I'd bad updo, as I lost network connection, it says mode 22 in network settings, won't let me change them to lte, or auto, says turn off airplane mode to make call, and no radio..... the dial pad 4636, don't let me change anything either, it's just stuck, but works on wifi, it's reading Sim, as it says phone number, and Sim number in about phone, just.. no service... I dont have computer access, so if I could somehow download a older android version, im on Android 10, newest update now.. to a SD card, or memory, and upload somehow, to reflash,.. id really like to knkw how.. ive never done any software mods, so I'd need a sep by step play please, these are my only phones, and I live deep in mountains, and really need to fix one of them,.. the 2nd phone is on metro pcs, and is unlocked, but other Sims say same thing, need help, thanks

Can you tell us how the issues started? Did this happen on its own or did this happen because you tried modifying the devices and failed?

You don't have a computer available, I'm not certain exactly what your issue is or exactly what you need to do to fix it, but I can definitely tell you that it will require a computer to fix the issue.

Some devices can't downgrade the android version. I'm not sure if your device is one of them though. If it is, you won't be able to go back to android 9 from 10.
Can you look in system settings and verify that it still shows your IMEI number? If it is not showing or if it shows all zeroes, the IMEI got wiped out during the update. In such case, you may have to restore the IMEI or refresh your firmware via PC. Restoring IMEI or flashing firmware will require a PC.

yes, I have a imei number, it don't show null, it shows my phone number to every Sim I put in, but says disconnected, no radio, turn off airplane mode, no service, network unknown,.. and refusing to let me change network mode to lte or 4g, just says in blue lettering... preferred network mode 22, but every Sim I put in, it auto adjust the apns, to that Sim.. it's a Metro PCS phone, but GSM unlocked
iI just figured downgrading back to android 9, would sorta be like flashing it, as I don't have computer access

The APN is probably saved on the SIM itself. It isn't allowing you to manually change the APN in settings?

Auto, 4g, auto 3 g.. Etc, but the blue network mode 22 stays,.. Did talk to best buys, geek squad, and one tech said if it's in blue, what happened was when the new update to 5g was sent out it was supposed to wipe out the 3g options from phones, and some phones didn't take it so well, but they say can be fixed by flashing it.. I'm still unsure what that means, and would still need to do it with a SD card, or male to male cord to another phone.. If it works like that?, I was hoping for a new update.. But believe the phone probably isn't receiving signal at all now, as some app even on wifi say to turn on wifi.. Or data..

If there is a public library near you or some other place that has computers available for public use, you can download your device drivers, your stock firmware file and your device's compatible flashing software then put them on a USB flash drive and use the PC at the public place to install your firmware.

I've seen a lot on no signal stuff, I think everything can be adjusted to work except this network mode 22 in blue, if you try to make a call, does it say to turn off airplane mode like mine?, have you done the dial pad thing, *#*#4636#*#*?, the top option, in there, my network says unknown, radio off,, here, most people can manually change the network settings to whatever they needs, GSM only, CDMA only, gsm/CDMA automatic etc, and this normally fixes most issues, I have a bad update I think, that was meant to remove 2/3g options out of my system, and messed everything up, as I have x2 stylo 5s and both stopped working, one just froze on LG symbol, and he other lost network radio signal, I tried to hold down power and vol down on other one, and it turned off, and never came back on, i've tried to unhook battery, and drain power... nothing, I switch batteries, etc, nothing, I have not been able to fix either phone, I sence bought a LG k31, and 3 days ago, it started ghost touching, scrolling on its own, clicking on stuff, I'm using it as a hot spot, to power the stylo 5, I don't mess with settings, add anything, drop em, just normal stuff, I dnt know what's going on, but I'll cave man it it before being a apple guy!

yes, and I just heard lg isn't making phones anymore, and are not supporting their old ones
I got the solution,
I have been using my lg since 2020, it came with android 9 it was perfectly fine till android 11, in july 2022 i updated it to 12 since i got the update, but after the update it made it worse so laggy unresponsive home buttons and back button top bar swiping completely went into chaos, due to this i downgraded to android 9 it was well again but no network in settings it showed network mode 22 so i tried to flash android 10 same issue and then i flashed it back to 12 everything went well network came back and even the phone works so fine till now, network gone like network mod : 22 means we have taken our device too back this is the issue flash with stock rom it will be fine.

Hello. After lots of rooting, ROM flashing, and all that good stuff, somewhere in the process I did something that must be keeping me from using 4G. When I turn on my 4G antenna, in settings it just says I'm "Disconnected" and when I scan for service, it scans for maybe five seconds and goes back to disconnected. In the settings, all three fields for 4G network information (Network provider, Signal strength, and IP address), are blank.
I used wimax_mtd and ls /data/misc/wimax/ to make sure I still had my keys, and I do, they match what's written on the back of the phone exactly. I tried this with no luck.
Anyone know what is causing the problem? I'm running a fully rooted gingerbread.

What rom/version? What provider? What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
Sprint. The ROM is just a rooted version of Gingerbread (2.3.3). The software number is 2.76.651.4. Troubleshooting? I don't even know what you're asking there. I have my keys, I've confirmed that. I tried one thing from the thread I linked. I can't connect. What else am I supposed to try?

Flash the new radio/wimax radio, update profile/prl/twice/reboot twice, tweak ##DATA# settings.

Unless your actually connected Network provider, Signal strength, and IP addresswill appear blank when you look in settings. If you've confirmed you have your keys, and are in a 4G zone. Then you can try a simple trick that sometimes works. Put the phone in Airplane mode for a few minutes. Then take it out of Airplane mode, and try to connect to 4G. If that doesn't work then go ahead and update the radios as VICODAN said. That should solve the issue.
Still no luck
I just tried all of those steps, besides the airplane mode one, with no luck, but I'm trying the airplane mode idea right now, and if that doesn't work, I'll elaborate.
EDIT:
Okay, no luck.
So I went through and flashed the newest radio and the wimax radio, and in the process I realized that I didn't actually have the newest radios beforehand. (I also learned that I hadn't yet formatted my microSD card to FAT32, so it's good that I realized that too. ) After that, I went into System Uupdates and updated Profile and PLR, then I rebooted, and I did it again, and I rebooted. You said to do it twice, so that's why, but you said twice twice so I wasn't sure which part to do twice. (Wow, that was a mouthful.)
After all of that, I tried the airplane more thing, with no success. I've connected to 4G in the past here, and the spring website even says my area has 4G coverage, so I know that's not the issue.
Also, about the tweaking ##DATA# settings, I mentioned that I tweaked it according to the link I put in the original post, but is there anything else I should try?
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Last thing to try is ##rtn#, wipes fone and resets to factory defaults, then do hands free activation.
Also make sure your [email protected] stuff is configured properly. This is also somewhere in ##DATA# settings.
You can also try flashing a different rom like CM7
But before you do that call sprint tech support and tell them to fix it. They might be able to do something on their side.
Okay thanks, I'll call them later today.
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
So I called, the woman had me do a few things, and after hitting restore from the menu in ##DATA#, the 4G is behaving differently. Instead of scanning and returning to disconnectec, it now goes to "turning on ..." Then to "turning off ..." And back to on again. It cycles forever, until I manually turn it off.
Sent from my PG06100 using XDA App
Well it sounds like something is still wrong. Try flashing a different Rom to rule that out. If that doesn't work, and having WiMax is a must. Then you may want to think about running an RUU back to 2.2 stock. Then just start the whole root process all over.
I am sort of at a loss. My Surround is losing it's celluar data settings every time I turn it off and boot it back up. The signal bars do no E, or G, or H or anything else. If I am not connected to wifi there is no data at all. Speaking of wi-fi, it also does not maintain most of my saved networks. The only one is does is the one at work.
I first ran into this after Mango RTM upgraded to final. I was having other issues (e.g. music search not working) and blamed it on the upgrade. At the time I WAS able to use the HTC connection setup to configure the cellular data connection. I finally did a complete wipe on it a couple of weeks ago; I flashed back to the original ROM release and let it spend the next couple of hours updating back to Mango. Everything seemed fine but in the last couple of days I have found the problem has returned. To make matters worse, I can't even seem to download the HTC connection setup app anymore.
I have tried multiple soft resets, battery pulls, booting up without the SIM and then booting up with it, etc. Anyone have any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it? The phone is pretty useless as a smartphone without a data connection.

Try that rom :] You need to do a RSPL / HSPL thing first;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
I suggest downgrading to a lower firmware and then doing so :] Mine does it from time to time aswell, Usually gets fixed when I--
1; get a call
2; turn wifi on or off
3; airplane mode
But even if it doesnt show the network type, It always works

Thanks. 1, 2, and 3 definitely don't fix it. It might be worth going with the custom ROM just so that it's unlocked and saves me from having to pay for the official unlock down the road sometime. One other thing is that around the same time I started getting some screen wonkiness. I would be trying to type something and the keyboard kept minimizing back to the bottom every few characters. Mainly only affected text messages though.
I decided to call AT&T to see if they might be able to force a refresh of the data settings. Since I've called them before on the problem the guy thinks it best to replace the phone. Guess we'll see what happens. May still do the ROM you suggested once I get it though.
Bleeping bleep bleep phone! Someone in a different thread suggested HTC might be able to help with an issue like this. Only solution they gave was a hard reset so I finally did that on I think it was Thurs or Fri. Everything was dandy at first. Fast forward to today and I notice this evening that my phone had lost it's settings again and once more I can't get them back. I also notice that it ate my saved wifi networks again.
I have the refurb device AT&T sent and I suppose I will go ahead and try to use it. I just hate having to set everything up...again. It's really getting old. Could my SIM card be to blame?
Haha. Going to be attending the local WP Insider Circle thing next week. Maybe I'll get lucky and win a new phone.
Hi,
I have a 32GB Nexus5 with Android 4.4.2. It was rooted. Last night all of the sudden the phone froze up on me and when I turned it off and back on it had deleted everything in the phone and just booted up as if the phone was new (Hard Reset maybe?). That was weird. But once it booted up for some reason my phone can't find any signal. It just has a blank signal icon on the top right corner. I switched sim cards with a few friends and its not the SIM Card. I added the APN Settings for my carrier (Straight Talk) and still nothing.
It's the first this ever happened. Today I flashed back a stock 4.4.2 image to my Nexus5 and set up the phone again but still can't get any network coverage. It's as if the antenna or something got damaged out of the blue.
I'm also including screenshots of the home screen highlighting the blank signal icon and screenshots of the Phone Status page that highlight that the mobile network is unknown and other information.
If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know

Have you gone into the carrier menu and checked the settings are right?]
dial
*#*#4636#*#*
turn the radio off and put your settings the way they should be depending on your service and carrier
select the band option and put it to the country and then save restart radio and reboot.
If this doesnt work then perhaps the files that contain the IME (i forget what they are called) blew out.
When I had my nexus s I kept a backup of them because it was pretty regular for people to accidentally delete them
good luck

So the IMEI number for my Nexus 5 right now is 0. I called Google and they already sent me the RMA Form and will be getting a new Nexus5. However, I'm still curious as to why this may have happened all out of the blue and what steps I can take in the future to limit the chances of this happening again?
Btw... I tried to turn off the radio and continually pressed the button but never got a confirmation that it had turned off.
Best thing to do is backup your efs. And make it available to be flashed

Not sure if the phone radio is completely dead or not but I've lost all signals completely today. Nothing I do works.
If I go into Mobile Networks and choose Network Operators, the phone is able to scan for the networks and showed my correct carrier in the list. However I choose to register on it, it doesn't work. It just keeps scanning and doesn't register.
Tried flashing new ROM from scratch with new radios from CM and Oxygen (230 and 241) and neither works. Tried flashing via recovery and fastboot. Tried restoring from a working TWRP backup, still the same issue.
I took my SIM card out and tried on an older phone, works fine. Used another working SIM card on my OPO, still doesn't work. At this point, I think it could be a hardware issue with the phone. Only thing I'm confused about is why it's able to list the carriers in Network Operators and this was never an issue in the past. Also, it doesn't show a question mark in the signal bar so that would lead me to think it's detecting the network but not fully working or registered on it for whatever reason.
All I see is completely no bars in my signal bar. I can't dial or receive calls, I can't use emergency calls, but it does pickup my network as Vodafone NZ. Any ideas?
Update:
Switching to 2G, 3G and LTE doesn't do anything, still no signals. Also, looks like the Network Operators function is irrelevant to your SIM card. Unplugged my SIM and it was still able to scan for it.
I suggest you to try kitkat modem on lollipop os. I know someone has the same problem with you .I dont know why but some OPOs does not work with lollipop modems.

Not sure if the phone radio is completely dead or not but I've lost all signals completely today. Nothing I do works.

Do you get to see your IMEI No.?
Yes, I do see my IMEI. Have tried all the solutions there are.......flashed oxygenOS, colorOS and imei is still there. I can see there's signal under About -> Status, but no network (unknown). My wifi works fine, just no phone signal.
My sim card is fine, tried on other phones and it works. Tried several sim cards in my OnePlus and they all fail. Wasn't like this last week, dunno what happened.
I think maybe my IMEI is blocked? I called my carrier and they said it's not. Will i need to contact OnePlus (my phone is the chinese version) to get this resolved?
Same problem. No reason. Just started happening last week...
I tried another network and it worked though.
Exactly the same problem here. It first happened when I traveled to Japan and inserted a Japanese SIM card, nothing worked, so I thought it's because of the strict radio regulations in Japan....now I'm in Ireland, popped a 3 Mobile sim card in, still not working.....God I would never buy a OnePlus product again....first the touch screen failed, now the modem......biggest mistake taking it travelling with me....
@chaoscreater @dahole @victorinoxs I have your same problem
IMEI, Baseband and WiFi are OK but no signal and status network unknown
Solutions people ! I am reading post forums , nobody haves a solution for this, is my phone Garbish?

I am having the very same problem and, once I opened the One up I found the connector was disconnected.
But ... how to connect it back? It looks like it's a very difficult task to be accomplished!!!
SOLVED!
You can gently pull the pig tail cabletowards the center of the battery compartment, you connect it then push the cable back in.
The small narrow cable compartment that's on the side has a "soft curtain to keep the cablew in place. Be careful to put everything back in place properly.

Antenna goes to bottom board near battery under rubber cover that you can unstick, connect and stick back. Just disconnect battery and pull antenna to the side of power button until you will be able to connect

Yup! I "discovered" it shortly before you answered. And it worked indeed!!!
Same network issues !!
Hello everyone !!!
I'm new here and so dont know much how stuff works here. Hope to learn pretty soon
The thing is, I'm having similar problem with my OPO. I get only 4G network, no other network (2g/3g) gets connected. When on 4G, network randomly drops and connects, and when connected I can use internet, but just cannot make/recieve any calls. I have flashed many custom ROM's but to no avail. Finally after getting nowhere near solution, I stopped trying and currently I'm using Lineage OS (ver 14.1.20171001-NIGHTLY-bacon).
Drmuruga posted a link with CM13 modem zips, will flashing the CM 13 modem file work in my case ? If yes, there are two files on the link you provided, which one should I use ?

Firmware can be a game player for sure. You can use modem from cm13(any of them, the first one is from snapshot builds).Infact, have a look at: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/firmware-modem-oneplus-one-t3462214
Which carrier are you on?
I am on Airtel (only 4g). I've tried using docomo as it is my secondary sim, but it never connects since it works on 3g network.
I've tried a couple of those from the list, but failed. Anyway, I'm gonna try the rest.
Does TWRP version matters ? I'm using 3.1.1-0.

Yeah I tried through that long before, but as soon as I set it on wcdma (only/preferred), there isn't any network (emergency mode only).
I've tried almost all firmwares from the link you provided using TWRP, but no luck. Maybe my card slot must have some hardware problem. Just to give it one last try, can you tell how I can Install those firmwares via ADB fastboot ?

Doesn't matter.Twrp flashes the firmware just fine.
Ps- It could be network antenna.Any recent activity that could damage the phone's hardware? Jio 4G,Bsnl 3G and Airtel 3G works fine here.I'm gonna get my Airtel 4G sim tomorrow, and I'll keep you posted if it works too.
Just lost my MI 10 in a car accident, , still paying it SIGH. I got a deal on a used OPPO A12 that seller specifically said WIFI was not working as you try to turn it ON and it shts itself off, I had seen this behaviour when wrong roms/modems were flashed in some devices, other was just a matter of resetting network settings, so I bought it. Well, this one is not flashed, it has stock rom from TELCEL (Mexico) and it has a really small (didnt even notice until today) crack in one side of screen. so I think (I hope not) it could have fallen and caused the wifi problem at a physical level, is that possible?
Also I notice it has a recent patch, and that is my main suspicion on a bad update process. Any advice please (Bluetooth also does the same thing, switch goes back to off immediatly after trying to turn it on), I have already reset to factory defaults, reset network settings, reboot phone, turn on and off the airplane mode, nothing makes the wifi work.
PLEASE ADVICE
ColorOS V6.1.2Android9Security PatchNovember 5 2021<----- (THIS IS MY MAIN SUSPECT)hardware version: OPH2083EX_11BasebandM_V3_P10Kernel Version 4.9.117
in the status screen I see that it does not show MAC address for Wi-Fi and also does not show MAC address for BlueTooth.
can this mean that hardware is broke, or can this be due to the last patch?, and how can I try to fix/troubleshoot,
I will try to reflash the last update, would it be wise to try and rollback, is it possible? or flash some other region?
