So my poco x3 fell and looks like the main camera (64 mp) is gone. It won't focus anymore, I guess it's something related to lens calibration or w/e.
But all the other cameras are working fine.
Turns out most of the apps that use the camera at some point (like banking apps, expenses apps, etc) uses this main camera.
I wonder if there is a way to change what the device considers its main camera. In this case, making the 13mp camera the "default" one for me would solve most of my issues.

Through a long boring series of accidents, I am now pretty much stuck on the ROM that's installed on my tablet. It's a pretty good ROM, but it has a bug in the camera software that prevents me from recording video from the front-facing camera. With the rear facing camera it records just fine. I guess I can live with it if I have to, but everything worked perfectly on the stock rom that came with my tablet. So I'm wondering how deep into the guts of the tablet the software for the camera has to go, and if there's any hope that I can replace the faulty bits of software on my current OS with the working bits from the stock OS. Both are based on Gingerbread 2.3.5 so I'm hoping it's possible.
I've tested a few replacement camera applications from the google play store, but they are all unable to record off the front camera, so I think this suggests that it's an underlying driver or other library thing. Does anyone know what files are associated with interfacing the camera to the camer app? Are they independent of the kernel, or is the kernel part of this mess? I can still flash a kernel, but I haven't tried for fear it will mess up the current ROM.
Let me be more specific about the problem:
1. front camera works fine for taking pictures or streaming over wifi/3g with those types of apps
2. If I'm using the rear camera I can switch to video mode, but if I then swap to the front camera the app force closes. Conversely, if I'm using the front camera and I switch to video mode, the app also force closes.

Some phones have OIS while others don't. Camera apps can be installed on almost any phone. So does a camera app need to be informed that a phone has OIS - e.g. by a setting ?
Or, is the image received by camera apps from the phone hardware already 'processed' by the OIS hardware ?
And, is it possible to disable OIS (for whatever reason) ?
Hi everybody,i have search everywhere but did'nt seen similar case anywhere,my problem began after a litlle fall after this my camera started to behave strangely, like a reversal the motor brings out the front camera when I activate the rear camera and vice versa so the selfie camera works but only inside as you can see on the video, I already tried a factory reset.I also removed the back cover to check all the camera cables and nothing has changed except that when I disconnect the one from the front camera, the interface of the rear camera becomes "normal"
Thanks
summary of the situation the pop-up camera comes out when it should be in and stays in when it should be out

I don't know about the Poco F2 Pro but if it's something like the Huawei Y9 Prime with its pop-up camera it has a small magnet that "indicates" to the system when the front one is up or down and that makes the small motor that moves it activates the front camera, now the cell phone fell with the camera outside and the module was hit, it is possible that the state of the camera (down/up) has been "uncalibrated", in any case you would have to take it to a center specialized to be disassembled and checked because it seems to be a physical failure rather than a software one
thank you, indeed it is very interesting I had not thought of it did you see the video that I posted it is for this reason that I thought of a software defect but your proposal holds the road.
I have to login to my bank account and I need to scan a photoTAN image but the app by default uses the main camera which is broken, is there any way to make the wide screen back camera as the default one to be used by apps on my phone?
Any ideas anyone?
I'm also searching for the same issue but no answer
This post may give you an idea:
Change default rear camera?
Hey guys, My main rear camera is broken and I was wondering if my default camera can be changed to the wide-angle lens, because the wide angle lens works fine. The phone is a Moto X4 and it has a dual rear camera set up. So my question is...

The settings I had to change to get it to work was turning on auto white balance (pics were green without it turned on), then I went to the advanced->ancillary camera settings to turn on the ID2 and ID4 cameras so the buttons would show on screen. Renamed ID2 to wide lens, and ID4 to Macro lens. I don't know if I used correct terms for names, the ID2 is the 0.5 camera and the ID4 is the flower icon camera from original camera. ID1, ID,3, ID5 options seems to crash app so I couldn't figure out which one goes to the physical 4th camera on back, so no clue how to access that particular camera plus I don't know what it's for.
Video and everything else appears to work without crashing. It does crash as I play with setting to get it to work better.
Not sure how many people are using the phone still being 2 years old, and didn't see post in the apps section unless I missed it. So here's something in case someone happens to still be using the phone like I am.
