Zlink got deleted - MTCD Software Development

I factory reset my head unit some pre-installed apps got re-installed but zlink got deleted. I can't reach the seller. I've tried many apk files from this forum, non of them works for me. I need help if I can get back zlink installed. Also, if I can use both android auto and carplay. The seller told me the head unit support both. But zlink I had installed support only carplay. I have attached the version no along with MCU.

I believe head unit would need a different Bluetooth module as most if not nearly all devices don't support the Android wireless zlink.
And for your main problem install a custom rom and you should get the zlink back (wired only for android also remember if the device doesn't work look for another USB port on headunit)

No problem if it's wired, no need to be wireless.
Is there any instructions on how to install custom rom? And how to download rom that works with my head unit?

Search the fourms for you mcu file

First one I found but instructions are on first page
Usually a sd card slot (might have to take display off the head units metal casing )
File usually is renamed to Update.zip
Go to recovery mode
And use the update option.

You would search csn2_D should probably have more roms read to be downloaded

I have tried but when I get to recovery menu I get the error unable to open. I've attached picture. I have tried both names "kupdate.zip" and "update.zip"
-kupdate.zip name will pop an update msg. I press OK and restart into recovery mode with same error in picture

Try another usb plug in?
Try to located a sd card slot
Sorry I'm not much help I own a mtcd - psd version from Idoing.
I'll see if I cannot find better info

You may also try to find stock firmware via the tools thread I posted on this fourm

So far what I'm seeing is you need to
Rename file
Update.zip kupdate.zip or update2.zip
The usb or sd card needs to be formated to fat32
You have to use a "main usb" (My device came with two additional usb ports and one for connecting stock my stock one won't work but the included ones will.) My device also has a "hidden sd card reader located behind the screen with all the hardware"
The upgrade might only work for updates (so if 9 roms with 9 or 10 will work, if 10 only roms with 10 will work.)

I'd suggest reading the post #5 with the link I posted.
I cannot confirm if it will work or not
I'd also suggest searching for your device for more info
I've tried some roms which failed to install
I've also tried different usb ports which have failed
It's unfortunate it's a guessing game as there are way to many px4 px5 px6 alternatives

Thank you for these informations. I've managed to install the latest version and MCU. The USB stick wasn't on FAT32, but it's updated now.
Moreover, zlink is not installed with the custom ROM. After the first use, it installed like 7 apps but zlink isn't.

Idk it's a built in app in most mcu roms the apps won't work if installed via 3rd party they always ask for verification

I hope if there is any way to install it back

Yes, purchase a genuine Android audio unit and give up expecting Chinese origin junk will work according to claims, which is NOT Android auto.
Stop using these forums as support for unsupported gear, unless you want to put the effort in to resolve problems

Dude, calm down. My car model is not compatible in the link you provided which I have checked 3 years ago. The dealer couldn't even support me because my car is 2014. Android is supported for 2015+ of my car.
I have bought kenwood stereo that cost a lot and didn't fit without aftermarket frame that looked so cheap and noisy when installed. Nothing fit the original frame except this chinese junk. So either be helpful or stop wasting your and my time.

Just hoping to clarify that zlink link users will forever be wanting updates as google/manufacturer releases updates - resulting in posting here (there are multiple threads in these forums for the same issue).
Perhaps consider headunit reloaded.

[Q] Disgo Tablet 6000

Hi,
someone is interested to develop a Rom with Froyo for the device "Disgo Tablet 6000"?
Thanks in advance
Il Conte 81
I'd love any info on this too. Disgo Tablet 6000 has a rather locked down version of Android that doesn't even have Marketplace nor Facebook. I like it but it's currently useless until you add in some apk's.
I'm therefore willing to experiment a bit with loading roms onto it. Done so on my Hero but would need a few pointers on this one as I go.
Ive updated my rom to 2.2 using a rom for the sylvania tablet - but have lost root access and considering downgrading - I aslo have a running android market but no paid apps (looking into how to enable this)
Its a good cheap device - any input greatly recieved
I downgraded my rom to 2.1 and got root back!! YAY!! Im trying out getting android market on it tonight and seeing if I can get apps2sd working.
Id love to know how to build roms....but...there is no recovery image just the option to install from sd or via the OTG port.
Rom building I have no clue with and unlike regular android which can utilise the recovery process and a rom in zip form you need special drivers and program to push it to the device (if doing it via the otg port) Similar to the RUU for winmo.
The file extension is IUS - I have the files for the 2.1 update and 2.2 and uide if anyone is interested?
Plus Ill post back if I get market working.
Gurry
I've been trying to update a disgo (hwver=12.2.0.5) to froyo but have no idea which of the ius files are safe to flash , i did flash disgo_12.2.0.5.1.4.ius but it seems to be exactly the same as i had already
noticed these are down to £70 on play at the moment has anyone had any more luck with theirs?

No "official" 2.2 Froyo, however some newly purchased tablets are pre-loaded with 2.2 but it seems to have issues. Others, as noted above, have manually updated using the Sylvania files which seems to be the same as Disgo is doing causing issues.

This string of Tweet's is telling, the distributors (Disgo, Sylvania "Digital Gadgets", and others) are having issues with infoTMIC delivering working firmware for these tablets.

Cannot enable adb through USB
Can enable USB Debugging with work around
Can enable Mock Location with work around, however Not Location aware
SD card cannot be mounted by PC to enable file transfer
No "official" update to 2.2 Froyo however some newly purchased devices have 2.2 pre-loaded
Can update manually using InfoTM Update Wrap tools - USB Link to OTG or Boot Disk on micro SD
No "Recovery", can do a Factory Reset which may or may not work
No ROM Manager support
No Clockwork Recovery Image
No Custom ROM
No CM7 "CyanogenMod" support
Extremely small development community compared to other InfoTM powered tablets
BUSYBOX is installed but some updates can brick the tablet
Support community exists since mid November 2010, several Novice support groups (Facebook page, YAHOO Group)
No "official" Android Market, however can be installed but NO paid applications
No "official" Google Experience except Gmail, however can be installed
No FLASH 10.1 or any other version even with pretty please.
Netfix - can't work/works
WiFi is flaky on some devices, limiting range, unable to scan, causing woes, problem and slowdown.
Battery - wide range of results depending on version, applications, tweaks, WiFi use
Memory - sometimes reported as zero requiring Factory Reset, which may or may not work
eBook reader requires micro SD
Downloads requires micro SD
Some SD cards are not recognized, reported as damaged
mini HDMI works but must follow instructions to initiate communication
Digital Gadgets instructional videos on YouTube, website FAQ
my_Disgo support reported as challenging, Twitter feed, expected update "start of July!"
Design Quality / Durability
No replacement for touch Screen/glass which can be broken by: playing Angry Birds forcefully, sitting on it, repeatedly dropping from fairly low heights onto hard surfaces, or even tripping on the power cord flinging the tablet to the floor/wall.
Mini Tablet Accessory Kit from Digital Gadgets exists that includes screen protectors, silicon cases, stylus and case stand.

i have got a disgo 6000 and it is stuck in a boot loop any ideas on how i could kick it out of this, pls??
Choppah, use the three finger salute.
Hold a finger on the screen, keep the menu button pushed in, and hold the power button. Keep all three fingers on until you see text, then remove all fingers and push the menu button once.
You're welcome

Hi all, know this thread has been quiet from quite a long time but.... I have exactly the same problem as choppah When you switch it on it sticks at the
" Disgo tablet 6000RL
Finger touch
Stylus Free"
Boot screen
I have been given the tablet to try and "fix".... I have tried the 3 finger boot to recovery however i then get "Getting recovery Image" "No recovery image found, try recover from SD."
As you may be aware the usb's on the sides are both HOST apparently the one nearest the HDMI port is the OTG port but when i try and connect it to my pc neither device recognises the other. I read somewhere that you needed to press both the power and menu buttons and i did that to no avail.....
I would love to just get the thing working optimally by installing a Stock ROM, from all my searching i believe that there is no stock for this device but have also found it may be possible to install a sylvania rom. As i have never had this tablet boot up and i have not got any box\instructions, plus there is no serial number on the back only model etc i have no idea which sylvania rom would be safe to install and if this could be done by sdcard at all?
Any and all help/advice welcome
Hi All,
I have managed to get a little further with this.... But only a little. Using Techvendetta's newsd.img i have managed to get to a point where the tablet will load images from the sdcard! Thats about it though. I am still stuck at the inital Disgo screen as i dont know enough about how the boot actually works... i am unsure how i can sort this issue. Is this an actual hardware failure? I suspect not as the recovery appears towork using the newsd.img. At least it appears to write the correct data. I cannot as i have stated beofre get otg working.
If anybody reads this... please help if possible....

Question Advice on how best to use a joying head unit!

Hi guys, i'm a little confused and between 2 minds on my joying headunit. I've been running the android 10 unit for quite some time now (https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-9...-android-10-0-car-autoradio-ips-1280x720.html) and generally really like the spec, features and responsiveness. However there seems to be a lot of different ways of using it. And i can't quite decide what would be the 'best' way.
1. I can use the unit natively, by installing the apps like waze, spotify, etc directly to the headunits storage and either fitting a 4G data sim
2. I can use the unit natively, by installing the apps like waze, spotify, etc directly to the headunits storage and using my phone as a wifi hotspot and tethering the internet to it to keep everything running natively.
3. I can use Android Auto and mirror my phones apps to the headunit and use it that way.
Just looking for opinions and discussion around how peope are using there's and why? I use mine in configuration 2 above.
As a side note, i'd love to install a custom rom onto the unit rather than use joying's image but can imaging a 100 things would break and that i'd potentially brick the unit by just attempting it. Even their update process seems to be a blog post that says "Here's some links, if you not sure what to use, email us and we'll advise." But i don't trust that i'd get much support with a bricked or dodgy update. Thouhts?
I do 1 and 3 on mine, but with CarPplay.
Reason being: CarPlay nav is more "on the road friendly" in that the UI is designed to be used while moving.
Native functionality is good when I want the unit to do the stuff while I just BlueTooth sound from a different device.
My one issue is that if I have data turned on and enable CarPlay, my phone uses the head unit as a hotspot which isn't ideal.

I believe you mean FYT UIS7862 based unit. Joying is a made up brand.
3. Pseudo Android Auto- reality is it is a hack that will eventually frustrate as google and phone manufacturer release updates. These units are NOT Android Auto.
Re. Custom ROMs. None exist and are not needed.

Question Are there any Bluetooth client apps that aren't terrible?

I've installed I think around 7 android headunits and every single one has had a Bluetooth phone app that was bad to use.
Last year I tried to find a better one, without luck.
Any recommendations?
Nope but is it an FYT based headunit - post Android system information including MCU version to understand what variant the unit might be and what bluetooth your device has.
FYI - Bluetooth is not standard in these units.

As for bluetooth implimentation, other than changing the variable in config.txt's sys.fyt.bluetooth_type= entry. They may not be any more you can do.

No one could establish the unit to be FYT based on this post.
without that info recommending a configuration setting which is applicable only to FYT based units is just as useless. I request you stop making assumptions about my posts as you might be lacking prerequisite knowledge.
Knowing what the unit is, is everything. A cursory read thorough MTCD forums show just how misunderstood it is, and without my posts and reporting to moderators the forums quickly fill up with out of topic posts and the real development falling off.
If every new post started with, my unit is "ANDROID SYSTEM INFORMATION + MCU version" then those that actually know could recommend and not enter a tool like guessing game.
Would be great if you begun assisting too, if not, not a problem and if you don't like a post the report button is always available to you.
This is my last post on the matter with you.

For a hands-free bluetooth dialing app that works with FYT 7862 head units, I recommend the free "Voice Call Dialer" by ArtostoLab, which is available on the Google Play store. It allows you to say the name of the person in your contacts list that you want to call on your cell phone over the Bluetooth connection, and it confirms the contact's name by displaying it as it counts down from 3 seconds (you can configure this value) before it initiates the Bluetooth phone call.
Previously I used the Google Assistant to make calls, but when I upgraded my old PX5 to the Joying 7862 10.5 inch 1280x720 head unit I found that the only way I could get Google Assistant to make call using my voice was by setting the "Smallest Width" DPI value in the "Developers options" to a value of 596 or less, and using an older dialing app called "GVC Callhandlert 4 Joying" which is described here:
Joying forward dial requests from Google Voice
By replacing the old GVC dialing app with the Voice Call Dialer, I am now able to set my screen to full resolution, with the "Smallest Width" DPI value set to 720 DPI. I am not able to make a voice call _directly_ from Google Assistant, but I can tell Google Assistant "Voice Dialing", and then I can just say the name of the person I want it to call.
Edit: I had a typo in the open command, and the word "open" is optional.

ANDROID 10 ON CAR INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM

Hi I am new here and new to this system. Just purchased a 2014 Renault Clio which has a system installed which is not the original that came with the car. I don't have an issue with this but what I want is to be able to use it properly, find out how to install sims in the slots stated on system info. Update it etc etc. Please see attachments for full details of what I am on about.
One more question, where would I find the firmware update for this. And how do I install a sim? or could I purchase wireless adapter?

maxpeedingrods head unit help

so i recently picked up a maxpeedingrods head unit for my 03 accord and it's model and year specific to my car, its NOT the q96 unit. i havent really been able to find any way to update it to the latest android, however it says in the manual that it can run any android up to os12. my question is: can i somehow download hulu/netflix etc onto my head unit and make it work properly? currently it just says "this app is not compatible with your device" which im assuming is because its running a long gone version of android (i think 10). ive tried ripping an apk from the internet and loading it directly onto my head unit with a flash drive but it never seems to work. pls help im a noob
Is it MTCD type unit. Post Android system information including MCU version
