I tried so many tutorials that didn't even work. After hours of thinking I reset my phone and things messed up. Also when I try to update my Nokia but it says: "We can't check for updates right now. (80072f8f)". Can somebody help me?

firstly ive searched all day on XDA to find out why im getting the 'sorry i'm having trouble communication...' when running ChevronWP7.exe but still can't get it to unlock.
A little info:
Previously i was no-do and had the chevron Unlock then i upgraded to Mango and realised that my phones not unlocked anymore. So after a couple of months i thought id try and install Mango with the unlock.
Ive successfully installed a pre-NODO rom but cant get past the next stage of doing the Chevron unlock coz of this problem. Its really annoying me. What can i do to get past this stage? have i installed the wrong rom or something???
all advice will be appreciated.

You need to use old Zune (which came with old drivers and connectivity tool but I can't tell you exact version), and change date on your PC/phone to 2010 because Chevron's certificate is expired now.
What if I roll back my windows phone to version earlier than 7700? Would i then be avaliable to developer unlock - root my windows phone? i have seen the guide that uses chevron wp7 unlocking tool with chevron certificate installed on windows phone and later you just need to run chevronwp7.exe application on computer... Now, with build 8107 i cant, i tried it but i get error message about something phone not being connected to zune, or device is in lock-screen, but its not true... I have also seen forums on this topic, and other htc 7 trophy users said that going back to older version and installing chevron unlocked their phone and with an sideload app they managed to remain it unlocked even though they later updated to latest version of mango... Sorry for my grammar, english is not my native language

Hi, I am trying to unlock my Nokia Lumia 710. I tried to follow the noob guide in the post forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721355 I downloaded all the right files and tried to follow the instructions for the bootloader.
I installed the NssPro 0.48 put the Qualcomm bootloader files in the right place, then I downloaded what says is x64 drivers, but all I seem to find in that file is winrar x64? (which I already have installed).
The problem is, NssPro doesn't find any device, even though it is seen in device manager which also changes from Nokia DLOD to RM-803| Nokia Lumia 710.
When I plug my phone into the computer it tries to install drivers but fails each time.
Am I missing any other files which were not mentioned in the tutorial?
Why are you asking here? Device-speciic questions should generally go in their own forums.
Have you read the unlock thread fully? Somebody else has probably had a similar problem to yours.
If device detection is the problem, try uninstalling all the NOKIA and WINDOWS MOBILE drivers and related software.
If you are using Lumia, only the ZUNE should suffice all the required drivers.

I have Nokia Lumia 610 updated to WP7.8 and still locked.. I have tried chevron but still no luck. When the chevron.exe opens and i tick the 2 check boxes and click the unlock button suddenly a text box pop saying "Please make sure you are connected via USB, Please make sure Zune is running" I've tried many procedures on how to unlock this phone. BTW i've search about this but i cant find any answer.. i need this very much..

you cant use chevron unlock... this is tooo old unlocker for first generation WP7 devices when Lumia phones not exists....
only way for unlock is if device have unlocked bootloader and flash custom ROM...
unfortunately for you, only Lumia 710, 800 and 900 can have unlocked bootloader....
P.S.
also is possible to unlock with official Micosoft developer unlock (free for students accounts and pay for developers)

What breaks the rules is begging. Please don't....It isn't helpful for others nor yourself, WP7 has a much smaller number of users these days, and not everyone visits here.
The chevron unlock method has long been shutdown. You can get an official Developer Unlock there days for $20 USD. Its quite inexpensive nowadays.
Anyways, what do you need Chevron for?

I tried to deploy vcreg without any success. It shows some 0x... Error... I've done developer unlock and all those. But still no luck. Then I saw on vcreg thread that the app works no longer on wp8.1 . Then I tried customwpsystem to replace Nokia mix radio. But it just closes on tapping apply xap. Now I'm stuck with wp8.1 on my 1320. The only way to get update is by spoofing device name tplo some supported one and for that i require interop unlock. But these tools doesnt work? Somebody please help... I don't want to throw it away yet.
