Hi!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105P and I want to install the ROM from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2-plus/development/rom-unofficial-dirty-unicorns-t2794590
The issue is that I can't follow the instructions as they aren't too specific for beginners.
My phone is on 4.2.2 and I have never done anything to it - It's official (not modified or custom). I understand that the warranty will be void after I do something like installing a ROM.
If someone could explain the steps in a more detailed fashion so I could finish this process I'd be very happy. If there is something else that I need to show you in order to proceed, please let me know.
Thank you.
Hey guys. I would really appreciate it if someone could find the time to reply to my post and give me proper instructions. I want to set up my device from scratch using stock ROM. The problem is that I don't know the mechanics and the "proper order" of things to do in order to accomplish what I want. I would like to mention that a while ago I had UNLOCKED my bootloader so I am currently on unlocked bootloader mode.
So here it goes. What I would like to do with my device is:
1) Have stock SONY ROM (I don't like custom ones anymore) - I did this by flashing a GENERIC .ftf I found, using the latest version of Flashtool so this one is done.
2) I also completed rooting procedure. I downloaded this package which included an install.bat file , I ran it and after it finished my device was rooted. So this one is done as well.
Now what I need and I cannot find what to do (I would like your help and suggestions on that) is, a recovery and a custom kernel with native link2sd support.
How am I about to do that? Can someone point me with instructions as to how I can flash recovery and after that which custom kernel is good and supports link2sd?
Thanks in advance! :good:
Hey first time posting on xda devs and would like to know how to unlock bootloader, root the phone, and install custom ROM.
Now I have spent entire day backing up and searching the different people root but if someone can help me and point me in the right direction that would be great.
So I have a S3 from ATT Model: SGH-I747, Version: 4.1.2 JellyBean, BaseBand Version: I747UCDMG2, Kernel: 3.0.31 - 1300972. It is a stock ROM, I have never done anything to the phone at all before.
Now I will admit I followed a youtube video call "How to Root AT&T Galaxy S3 SGH-I747!" by High on Android and I did everything in the video. I used odin v1.85, I did the PDA to the CWM.tar file, phone rebooted and I added the CWM superuser file and that is when I tried to get to CWM recovery mode and all I got was the phone's default recovery mode and not the CWM one.
From what I understand I believe I need to unlock bootloader first, but again this is a my first doing this and I hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Forum post state that you should follow guides that is exactly the same to the phone you would like to install custom ROMs.
Honestly I would like to ultimately be able to install a recovery mode that works with my phone that I am able to create snapshot image of my stock phone in case anything happens or I would like to go back to my stock image (which I highly doubt if everything goes fine) and install a custom ROM (I know there are different ROMs if someone can point me to where I can check out all the custom ROMs and not necessarily install those custom ROMs that would be awesome) and finally get rid of ATT loading screen when booting up the phone and install a custom boot loading screen, but of course I care more about getting the custom ROM install first.
If anyone can help that would be great.

Here, these are the stock firmwares for Galaxy Tab GT-P100, is this your device? Download the firmware for your country/mobile carrier then flash it via Odin. At the bottom of the page, you'll see additional links to various regions/countries. Click the region you need in that list, it will take you to other pages there for your model number, it might list other firmwares for your device that aren't in the list from the link below.
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-tab/GT-P1000/
Create a free account there, when you choose the file to download, choose the "free download", it's not as fast as other downloads, just be patient and let it download. It's where I always get firmwares for my Samsung devices and I never paid for a download from there.
Here are more firmwares from different regions.

What exactly happened? You provided no information at all... That quote was ALL what you provided, do you realize how unreasonable your request is?
Are you purposely leaving the details out for anticipation or a surprise post later on? Want someone to guess your problem?
Like, did you flash a custom ROM? It might be because you flashed a custom ROM on a stock bootloader.
Did you flash TWRP maybe? It's a known issue in old TWRP versions flash the newest one and you're good to go.
Explain in detail what you did and post the necessary information. Like ROM version, wether you unlocked your bootloader, what is your rollback protection index and what did you flash on your phone. Your phone model might also help so someone can get you a stock ROM.

My problem is simple when I restart my phone it boot's automatically to recovery mod by it's own
I did not flast any TWRP or custom rom what so ever I don't have root access too all I did is some miui 12 update
No your problem isn't simple.
Based on the information you provided. What just happened is a soft brick and it can happen due to various reasons one of which is when updating android's firmware.
The solution is backing up everything then installing a new ROM. Beware the rollback index of your phone as it may cause hard brick.
I highly recommend going to your nearest service center and asking them nicely to unbrick your phone with no memory loss since you don't sound like you speak the mumbo jumbo language. (Basically a noob. No offense)
Again you provided little to no information at all, therefore i can only do as much.
