[DEV] HELP: Porting AOSP ROM to HTC Explorer

So, i currently have an HTC Explorer A310.
The device already has a valid method to unlock the Bootloader, and the "only" thing missing is CUSTOM ROMS.
There was already one called MasterMind, but, unfortunately, the dev sold his device and development was discontinued. Even if this was a custom rom, it still had all that HTC/Sense crap which most of us hate.
So, i was wondering, what do we have to do to build an AOSP based ROM (CM maybe..?), as clean as possible, to this device?
I have some programming knowledge (c, c++, java...) and i'm currently studying IT @ university.
I just need someone to guide me, so i won't turn my phone into a small brick.
I was thinking that a good start would be to find a similar divice which already had AOSP ROM's. With some search i found out that some HTC Aria users were trying to Port the Sense 3.5 of the Explorer to their phone, and that Aria already has CM7, for example.
Sorry for my "not so good" english, but if you have some knowledge in this subject, please, help
Nobody?
come on! :\
kernel source is already in Htcdev site if that help in building an AOSP rom
What is your status?
- Have you found information about a similar device?
- Have you successfully rooted your device?
- Did you already compile some existing AOSP rom?
- Have you found/read a guide/post about porting android?
- Did you backup your original firmware?
Don't own the phone anymore, but, as i said on the op, the HTC Aria seems quite similar.
so you have given up porting to htc explorer?
Since i don't have it anymore it would be quite difficult to do it.
Besides, nobody showed any interest in this...
would love to see it

How to port Android to Jetson TK1

I have a Jetson TK1 dev board powered by Tegra K1 and currently its running only Ubuntu 14.04. I have no developing skills (yet) but I'd like to port Android to it. There is already Tegra K1 powered Android device, Xiaomi MiPad.
Can someone please help me porting Android?
Thanks!
I'm sorry , I'm not trying to sound mean but you cannot just port a ROM in a day specially when you have no knowledge in developing / building ROMs.
Plus the Xiaomi Mipad is AFAIK is running a MIUI ROM. Not stock vanilla Android . Which I think it will make the process really hard (IF you plan on using the Mipad as a source)
and you said it "I have a jetson TK1 Dev Board" its a DEV board. why did you buy it when you're not a dev ?
There is currently no official Android for it so you gotta wait till someone ports android to it !
If you want to learn the basics of porting ROMs then there is at least 10 tutorials and guides on XDA , go read them might be a good start.

** SM-T237P Thread ** Roms, Recovery & root

Since the SM-T237P does not have as many custom recovery, Roms and root methods. I thought making a "official" thread may help, as well as having the answers to the same questions I see over and over.
I'll be adding a guide shortly containing links to the few roms and recoveries that we are lucky to have.
I'm also working toward building a kernel, then rom. I am no phone developer, but am a "native" linux user and I have cross compiled kernels for the raspberry pi, which runs off arm7 proc. I hope to contribute very soon!
Please add anything you guys can think of
Lg G Pad 7 (v400) has similar specs to SM-T237P. And Lg G Pad has cyanogenmod support. If you are working on porting may become easy.

Anyone working on any ROMs for the J700P model?

Basically title. We've had root access for a while now.. how's the progress on ROM ports?
Hopefully, someone will chime in soon! I'm eager to have CyanogenMod!

Maybe, among tons of other things... Porting a ROM is not a simple thing, you don''t just throw the ROM into a converter and out pops what you want, if it was that simple we would have tons of ROMs for every device.
In general, building a ROM for a device requires the original ROM's source code, a working device tree, and a build environment... and some decent Linux command line and code debugging skills.
"Porting" in this case would be just pulling pieces of mostly compatible software and plugging it into a working ROM piecemeal style, since the two devices although similar, are not identical.
Here is a good place to start, then let Google be your guide.
