well i have a touch pro, and have browsed this site extensively, and have in a last ditch effort brought my problem to the forefront.
I am not very tech savvy as you may put it , and dont have any experience with windows mobile devices. But what I am trying to do it put some form of gps client on my device. yes it comes with a gps server and thats great, but no gps software to utilize this. I have read posts about various softwares, but to be honest, i have no idea where to get these softwares, how to install them and anything about bandwidths or satellites or anything.
If it wouldnt be too much to ask, would anyone here take it upon themselves to kinda write and outline for dummie on how to install gps on ure touch pro, and exactly how u go about doing this. I live in Hungary at the moment, and would like to have a client that supports world maps. I dont know about data plans or anything, so i would like it to be self reliant.
Any nudges in the right direction (gps joke, not a funny one however) would be appreciated.
thank you.
There is a search functioin at the top of the thread listing - you can use that.
Otherwise this is how, after much hassle, I bought a genuine copy of CoPilot for Touch Diamond and installed it on the Pro.

That would be the "Choose Country" drop down from the top right hand corner of the ALK homepage.
If your Country isn't listed select the UK and then buy online from ALK. You can then change the currency to Euro's and they charge EUR10.50 or something like that for international shipping - this is what I did.

You can try this: www.igo.hu
i dont actually speak hungarian, so th igo.hu site doesnt really help me all that much. I have no problem buying the north american version, as long as someone can reassure me that european maps are included in that version. there is a store that sells it near where i live, but they are charging more than double the price of what it says online.
is there anyone who lives in europe that uses one of these softwares and is aware of its coverage?
thanks again
You're right your not very tech savvy are you !
as was mentioned earlier NO the north america maps are not for you, HOWEVER if you click on the tab at the very top right of the screen you will be able to choose your continent/country
For almost 2 years now, my wife and I including our 2 children ages 3 and 4 at this time, have been the victim's of multiple cell phone hacks. Nine (9) cellphones to include Android and iPhone have been compromised by remote intrusion. Actually, the first phone, a galaxy s3 was physically accessed by an ex coworker of my wife's, and subsequently my galaxy s3 was remotely hacked through an MMS. Understand this...neither my wife or I our computer savvy or to say weren't computer savvy at the beginning of all this.
We have since schooled ourselves, to include learning and somewhat understanding these malicious programs, acronyms, permissions, and capabilities.
We now know how these individuals have continued to access multiple phones. Each phone is full of apps containing com.sec.pcw. None of which can be disabled or force stopped. All share and link appear to be the common denominator.
After inspecting the cell phones of our friend's and family, which all have different types of phones and carriers we found that each of them have the "Master List" of com.sec.pcw installed. Further inspection found that EVERY contact is linked.
I mention this because my wife and I have not only changed phones, we have changed phone numbers and carriers.
Yet we couldn't figure out how these people continued to invade, intrude, violate and monitor our every movement.
However, with time, documentation and cross referencing we are now able to understand what was once unknown.
My wife and I would like to thank XDA and all of its members. A majority of our "on the fly" learning has come from this site and all of you are greatly appreciated.
In closing....
There are still many questions left unanswered.
Is there away to regain full administrator privileges when we are unable to root our phones,
Delete malicious apps which can't be disabled,
And, block these intruders from regaining access?
Thank you to all who read this post, and we sincerely appreciate any feedback.

The government is watching you !
If it is across multiple devices I am betting they are into your home network. It's the only way to do so. So I would change every single password you have on all accounts and redo your network, then full wipe all devices and redo them from the ground up.

That's a Google ID used by Samsung. Sounds like bloat.

This is vague. Can you cite some incidents that would lead you to think this?

I doubt it's the home network since the OP indicated that friends are affected as well.
I don't see anything here that would make me think this is more than a case of an overactive imagination.
Thank you for your advice. We have wiped our devices multiple times, changed passwords, changed accounts, and devices to no avail. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read our post and respond to our ongoing dilemma.

Yes, it is. This was "uploaded" to my galaxy via the app Mobogenie.
What do you mean by linked?
All contacts on phones are linked to each other through the All Share and Samsung Link apps. Though neither my wife or I enabled these apps and are unable to disable these apps. If we change phones, change numbers and even carriers, these people (who we know, and are ex Sprint employees and one is now an IT Advisor for Microsoft) simply look at our old contact list and find a friend or relative who is linked and has updated their phone with our new number.
This is vague. Can you cite some incidents that would lead you to think this?
While running a diagnostic in dashboard section of Sprint Zone I was amazed to see the husband walking in his bedroom on a live video feed. I can tell you what color is walls are painted, I can tell you about art work hanging on his walls, I can tell you what clothes he was wearing. When I said something to the effect of "holy s##t" he immediately turned around and within about 3 to 4 steps terminated the live feed. Pretty obvious my microphone was activated, there was a download button at the top of my screen , which I hit but have been unable to find that file. But did find and decrypt 2 pictures taken in our bedroom while the phone was laying on night stand. That is one of many incidents we have been dealing with.
I doubt it's the home network since the OP indicated that friends are affected as well.

My wife and I posted in the XDA forum in hopes of receiving objective, educated, and logic based responses. Your response was all of the above right up until your closing insult. Unfortunately all it did was discredit your ability to be objective, and showed your true character...or lack there of.

I'm one of two people who took you seriously enough to respond. My mistake, I suppose. Consider it lesson learned.
So I came across my best buy receipt for my gear s2 classic. It was $380 something bucks. I began to ask myself what value I got from it I hoped for.
1) My first use case i was really looking forward to was samsung pay. But it was delayed and there is no word from samsung about its release. Im beginning to wonder if the gear s2 community will ever use it. This is a HUGE shame on samsung currently IMO.
2) I am a previous user of the gear s. I was certain the galaxy store was to offer a substantial increase in useful apps with the gear s2. There was no way to check since theres no website to browse (only in-app with gear onboarded, scumbaggish samsung). Anyways I browse the appstore every week and nothing ever happens. Its pitiful everybody is so excited for uber. One app I was certain would be available is for the Nest thermostat. Its the perfect user interface! Nope. I best thing ive seen so far is the hue app. Cheers to the dev. The gear s2 dev community needs clones of him. But overall our app selection is outrageously pathetic. I don't see it getting much better soon.
3) Why do I have to use s voice? C'mon. Samsung cant be this pretentious. Let me use google. I also thought there'd be a more seamless integration with google now. Nope. Oh yeah, ever wonder why you cant use voice to text on 3rd party apps? Because samsung locked out that ability.
I have a very good feeling that developing for the tizen smartwatch platform is an upsettingly dreadful experience. I say this because i spent four hours on a Saturday trying to get the development environment setup on OSX. I couldn't even get any sample projects to load. This trickles through. For example I really wanted to have xClock -Agent as my daily watchface but I couldn't condone it. Its affiliated android app caused alarming battery drain - and the app developer does not care one bit to correct the malbehavior. But then i ask myself why doesn't the core gear services provide an api for location so this problem wouldn't even occur? Why not for everything else? Why no S voice or be able to use any sort for speech to text for an app? I need an add on app mostly for the dumbest things. This sucks a lot.
As a product owner myself of two development teams I have been on a desperate search for the product owners of the gear s2 platform and express my concerns on that level. All leads Ive found on linkedin did not reply to my attempts at reaching out. Maybe no product owners exist, because things should not be this bad.
Anyways I would love to love this watch. The industrial design encompasses a wonderful human interface. But I don't love it because it has no soul (useable software). I hope things change. But I'm probably going back to the pebble time.
Okay.
K!
2. Google now won't happen. It is not Samsung's fault. Google does not open the access and I believe they won't. Why would they open it for competitors?
I agree with you on the app development part though. Setting up the development environment is not a trouble for me but dealing with the lack of documents, bugs in the IDE, Samsung review team and their servers are really nightmare.
Occasionally, I came across this reviewer who does not read my instruction for testing app and she rejects my apps very often. I just re-submitted one of my app for review hours ago. Another app got rejected a month ago for the third times and the problems were also their fault. I don't even bother submit it back.
Samsung servers or their Gear app store is very very unstable. Way back in the days of the Gear 2, I already saw the cannot install WO WO issue. It still exists and occur very often for customers. I receive at least 3 emails about downloading problems a day and sometimes I get 1 star rating for problems that I cannot solve.
These are just some notable issues.
So yeah, new devs won't develop apps anymore if they face similar problems. These days, I only see new watch faces submitted using the designer tool. Hardly anyone writes apps
Yeah, I agree with everything -- and just dropped dime to get a Verizon classic 3G to replace my current sport 3G.
Why? I need the 3G.
As soon as cell capabilities are offered on AW, and nothing improves on the Gear side with the issues listed (I'm a developer that walked away from development on the Gear because of the hassle), I'm gone too.
So sad, this is the second time Samsung has lured me into their watch with bad apps. Kept watch too long to take back but would if I could. I have bought numerous Samsung products and they always just move on to the "next big thing" without looking back..

Same here.. I've had s2 classic few days and is been a pain in "A"
When it disconnects I have to reboot phone and watch ... so few apps to use app store is barren
such a shame as its a lovely looking device
I'll give it to the weekend then off it goes back to Amazon if it doesn't settle down
I'm not doing too bad but my requirements aren't huge and there are things the phone is better for. I'd love to use Google - but its not an android watch and i knew that going in. I get my emails, texts, my alarm works well enough, I can answer texts with voice, my appointments and Google Reminders work. I'm pretty happy! Wish it was waterproof. Wish the alarm was stronger. But still, I'm satisfied. At least until the next big thing... I AM a gadget whore.

I think you are probably paranoid, in order for someone to implant a hidden transceiver in your device, they would have to have it in their hands without you knowing about it and it would take some time for them to disassemble your device, add the hardware and then real-assemble your device. Are you sure you haven't watched too many movies?

In that case, it isn't implanted hardware or coding. By law, device makers have to include certain software and hardware that can be utilized by the governments of the world. They can't use it against "everyone", but in certain national security or other illegal/criminal circumstances, they can be granted the right to utilize the tools that takes advantage of the built-in software/hardware. They can do things like turn on/off your camera, turn on off your microphone/speaker, turn on your location services, track your movement, listen to your calls, read your emails and text messages, whatever they want.
These people would not be "hackers", they are the "legal authorities".

French are not nice at all
Legal authorities reject your credit card , delete your files in your hard drive inject fake ads in your computer put your letter sent directly to the post office in your letterbox... when you call the gendarme = policemen from small town the don't even come.... To put it simply, they don't get that serious about someone unless that someone is involved in something serious, whether that someone is a willing participant in the "something serious" or not and regardless of however right or wrong that someone or the "authorities" are. And, yes, at certain levels of threat or suspicious activity, the legal lines that restrict the authorities or agencies, get blurred. That is a necessary policy, yes, it is flawed and gets abused, but it was intended for a purpose and it still serves that purpose to an extent, even with its flaws.
I can't say I agree with governments and policies. But we need some kind of system of rules and security or we would all be living in a world of pure chaos.

its true but
strangely when you are in your country and you are arab you can be tortured and finish in guantanamo without a trial and of course you have 95% to be innocent....
yes never you see a drug dealer in latina american with a army killed buy a hellfire but a human not criminal can be killed with his familly
you call that : collateral damage
and you can receive a hellfire (missile from drone or helicopter it depends) if you live in the middle east if they think you are a terrorist without proof
like i said trolls and lies
it is useless i will put movies links online and make a wordpress of what i do every day
with a brand new device bought out of france....
then you will see by yourself what i see what i do if the connection works so i have to take a data plan outside my country and its expensive
like i said its ILLEGAL its why i have to take foreign devices
legal authorities not allow pseudo criminal to contact legal authorities ..........; that makes sense..........
during more than 20 years ..........
when i received my first computer (windows 98) a packard bell p2 233mmx) my last name was already inside as username and it was brand new sealed from a store in city near my home)
i can give you all proof if you want (they are reading they are watching and they won't like it.......
so there is 2 possibilities they will expulse me or kill me (or kill me outside the france)
i dont care i'm muslim
innocent mean martyr mean heaven....... unbelievers (the main part of the humankind)will go to hell (from a thora, bible, coran point of view)
ps: its my 3rd vpn service ; i tried nordvpn then protonvpn then mullvad and now airvpn and my vpn block not randomly..... obfuscation tor.... doesn't help at all)
even a flir cam and to proof the 70° overheat cpu and 45° battery.......
and the gigahertz solution case to find the frequency lf and hf ( 700 usd) i never received it............ so been refund via a paypal dispute............
do not disappear (if you are not a trol or a french), you test me i will show you ok???
its funny
because people believe other people without physicall proof
if someone say you are a terrorist and flag you as a terrorist you can't live anywhere in the world.... its just an example
sorry for my english ( videogames, tvshows, movies.....)

i already have this electronic harassment when i had a cpc6128 when i was around 10 years old (and now i'm 34 years old)
the only things(sorry for some mistakes but they are playing with my keyboard too) to know was to lure them to me to expose them it is what i did but i knew things they do not know and they wont believe it so i'm happy ^^ they can live a long very long life.........
and usually i order something nothing comes normally to me
so normality is anormal in my life......
its trials......... its a good thing from a believer point of view
its just my sister almost died too in UAE so they really want to destruct our life.........;
and me in KSA
the only common thing to our problem from the very start since we are child is THE FRANCE only
if i wanted to cry i wont do it on a xda developpers ^^
they will go to hell now
so what ever i can or can't do against them or exposed them is irrelevant now
in fact i can't handle liers.........
i had to fool them like they did with me but in my home because they were watching and listening and spying........ just test them at different location, different hours, with different personns they sent me to check what i was doing (at school, at my job....)
i have no friends no wife and no drive license ......... nothing
i'm free to go
ps: being murdered is not a problem, the problem is the reason ....... because if a foreign country (military) want to kill me even if i dont speak arabic and never had any arab friends and there is no mosque in my redneck town ....... they want other to clean their mess ^^

Not that any of you are worth a damn anymore, but I have a lot to report on this popular topic. Go ahead, delete this post for flaming this entire community, but I put in the actual work, something none of you attempted, and this will answer a lot of questions for people like me attempting something above a custom launcher or something stupid like that. I guess developing a pretty UI is important
I have confirmed that the POCO F1 is 100% hardware locked in its LTE bands. There is no band unlock for 2,4,12 etc. US users are screwed. How they will release this in mexico is beyond me. Attached is an image file displaying that the bands are configured directly into the phone, not just a part of LTE_BC_CONFIG. I'm not gonna scroll down the list but theres information about band powwer delivery, latency, etc. everything that would be required to program and run the hardware, its all there. The bands are not locked by software. ****ing bull****. The modem is the SM845 modem but xiaomi has taken the liberty to indeed limit the radio hardware for sending and receiving more lte bands. So they can sell it to the US for 500 instead of 300. Great
I've been at this for days, I've tried everything, its not gonna work. You may get LTE on band 5 in the US but then again, you may not. Band 4 LTE is 3g anyway, i mean **** it who are we kidding. If this dosen't bother you awesome but I pay for unlimited LTE every month and frankly I'm pissed off. Sorry to crush your dreams fellow americans, but this time we got screwed hardcore. Screw this forum and this community for not doing anything to investigate this earlier, I thought this was a place to share info like this but oh well
Cry me a river!
It's the sourmilkman more like, so your blaming everyone in the "community" for not figuring this out before you wasted your time on it?
What is it with the yanks lately ? Ive noticed it on lots of other non phone related forums as well. I was even blamed for the war of independence on one of them ffs ??? Make America smart again not bloody dumber!!!
hahahahaaha
Why are you so mad abt it.... It isn't released in the US... it wasn't made to be used in the US... They didn't want you to use it in the US... so why would be mad if it doesn't work as intended ....it's like if someone ordred a VERIZON OR AT&T and he's living in the EU OR ASIA and started crying why it won't work... You just went full retarded... Wtf is wrong with you people !??

1. Thanks for your efforts
2. We cannot do anything about Xiaomi locking bands via hardware
3. How on earth, do you expect xda/members to know if bands are locked via hardware. Poco is not officially sold in US, so there is no need for them to have US LTE bands support
4. We have been sharing info, and already have a thread about it here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/help/poco-f1-lte-bands-unlock-t3835467
5. No need to start flaming the whole community
@MishaalRahman can you please check with @jaimani or poco peeps who interact with xda if the bands (2 and 4) are locked via hardware on Poco F1 so we don't spend much effort on trying to unlock those bands?
Clearly the Poco F1 is popular in States, but lack of bands is killing that popularity.
If it's locked then don't be sour about it. As mentioned earlier, it's not intended for the US. Thanks for your efforts BTW.
RT's appreciated. Let's see if we can get an answer on Twitter.

All of you complaining about my negativity and "failure to see that this is not intended for a US release"
Your lack of ambition bores me
Its intended for a South American release, including Columbia and Mexico. Both of these countries share LTE bands with the US. I don't care if its "not intended" I'm going to take what is available to me and use it. Do you think I failed to realize that its "not intended" when I broke down the modem.img and read countless lines of UTF-8 coding (half of which i admit just ended up getting scrolled through cause its nonsense) trying to get more than "bands 40,41 disabled" and "activate based on selected region" etc. etc. etc. Or maybe when I tried rewriting in QXDM to no avail because guess what it can't be done its hardware locked. They shouldve just saved me the trouble and said "GLOBAL VERSION HARDWARE LOCKED BY LACK OF RADIO ANTENNAE" rather than provoking me to play go fish with the damn firmware. I'm not the only one who wondered if it could be done, this is a common question just look around. The fact that I am the only one trying, only to conclude with certainty that it cant be done, thats what im *****ing about. I just figured that others, who wanted to be part of this release like myself, who search the damn forums including this one only to come up empty handed, could use the cold simple answer instead of 10000 posts "Yea, would be really cool if that could work" and "oh yea, band 2,4 frequencychecker" etc etc etc. If you cant see the reasoning in that, then we're done here as far as arguing my ****ty attitude. Just enjoy my test results and feel free to use them for whatever testing/investigation you* may be interested in, thats why i posted it and i can/will provide all relevant information requested with regards to any testing i performed to arrive to this conclusion, cause theres more
Snapdragon 845 for 350 dollars, "not intended" does not apply anymore, ESPECIALLY when mine scored north of 2400 single core on geekbench without a custom kernel. I died a little inside when I saw that I couldnt keep it

SNAPDRAGON 845 for 350$ isn't intended doesn't apply anymore...? Sorry to burst your bubbles but IT APPLIES MAN
And nobody forced or provoked u to go through all the firmware,u did that all for urself and willing, im not trying to diminish ur findings but u can't go and cry why the bands aren't available there...
I didn't see u crying when most sony devices released on the US lacked fingerprint unlock method even though the fingerprint sensor is present in the hardware but just blocked in the software and i can list a lot of examples but this would suffice
Bottom line is this... The OEM has the right to do whatever and put whatever and block whatever the F*** they want in their devices as you have the right to buy them or not. .. Nobody force you to buy the phone u wanna the desired bands buy a phone intended for the US.... Stop crying like a baby and grow up, you are embarrassing urself
