I'd like to know which, obviously in your opinion, is the currently most supported brand by the community and independent developers.
For me phone hardware is not so important because after all its more or less the same no matter what brand. However bad access to community made software and roms can make a phone way worse imo.

I am so dissapointed that ASUS is not listed!
Perhaps this will shed more light on it, at least for LOS:

Pixel devices are well supported as long as it isn't from one of the US carriers.
One Plus devices are also well supported.
Why does the carrier change it? I do not live in the US but it interests me now.
@Bomber293 because some US carriers don't allow for bootloader unlock on some devices.....
In general I was surprised at the level and volume of development happening on the Pixel 6 series - so yes, I'd second the Pixel.....

Okay chaps and chappesss I am gearing up for my foray into the Android dual-boot wilderness and trying to get stuff sorted.
Whilst still trying to finalise the Android build I wish to use I wanted to clarify BootLoader.
I know of:
-JMZ (the free v4 one!)
-Exceller
-mkskip's
I know with the JMZ I can also use to install Android on first use.
Do the other 2 do that as well?
Does any one offer an advantage in terms of battery life over the other 2 (in the way they load android relative to extent of WinMo still active underneath - if you get what I mean?)
Any major reasons or other features to suggest one over the other?
I like the idea of having a WinMo button to load into Android as per mksip rather than having to power-off and select on start-up (don't know if Exceller does that as well though )
Any others I should consider instead?
Thanks
this is my favorite one

Could you please tell me why?
Here's a comparison chart I just created of warranty and insurance coverage for smart phones.
Comparison is between SquareTrade, Worth Ave Group, ToughCell, and Sprint TEP. I did not include others as I am not really familiar with them or haven't heard of them. I have Sprint, worked with SquareTrade, and will probably be going with Worth Ave Group in the near future. I did my best to be as accurate as possible but things may be different! Feel free to suggest corrections and/or additions. I'll update/fix it and repost whenever I get the chance.
**This information may not be 100% percent accurate so ask questions to whichever party you choose before signing up for anything, anywhere! Things change, and information found on their websites may change or may be incorrect! All information in this chart is collected from their respectful websites and recent experience**
*Coverage compared is for SMARTPHONES only, NOT iPhones or anything else* No, I'm not saying iPhones aren't smartphones, they have their own category on most of the websites of these providers.
Green is a little shout out to Android

After the Galaxy SIII’s S Voice leaked over the weekend, user experiences were quickly halted as the servers that powered the service seemed to have been shut down or blocked. Some guessed that Samsung was behind it and sure enough today, they admitted that they were.
Their reasoning? Well, because that version was only a test build and they did not want the world to assume it was the final product:
An initial test version of S Voice which was found online has been blocked as Samsung Electronics does not want consumers to judge the quality of the voice feature based on a test version. When the product is launched, users of GALAXY S III will be able to fully experience S Voice.
I’d say that makes a lot of sense. Usually these leaked ROMs are indeed test builds, so it’s hard to argue with that reasoning. Doesn’t part of you think that they did it so that one of the exclusive features to the GS3 was preserved, though? Can’t blame them for wanting that to happen either, especially knowing that the phone itself hasn’t even been released yet.
How has your experience been with S Voice? Game-changer or just another voice actions app?

Recently I heard that Nokia is coming with an android phone called Nokia N1. I like hardware of Nokia but not the OS that much. So that would be a good news for me and man others like me. Do you guys have any idea about it. Or it's just fake?
I know I should've asked in a forum where people talks Nokia, but as long as it is related to Android I preferred asking here.
I also learned it will be running on android 4.0 and will look something like Lumia 800.

i think itz fake as der is no official confirmation from nokia
It was a design for a concept phone last year - it's not a real phone and it's very unlikely you'll see Android officially on a Nokia device for quite some time, if ever.

Hi!
I've bought a Blackview BV6600Pro. I don't see any existing forums on it (not surprising, Blackview doesn't seems to be very popular), so I'm posting this here.
This phone has an actual FLIR thermal imaging camera, with a Lepton sensor I think. It was $240, including shipping. As far as I can tell, that's _by far_ the cheapest thermal imaging camera you can get with this good of resolution. Here's the laptop I'm writing this on:

That said, the stock firmware kinda sucks. And I don't expect any security updates. I'd love to get Lineage up and running, but have no clue where to start. It's based on a MediaTek MT6765V, if that's relevant.
I'm a very experienced software engineer, and long-time linux user, but don't know many details about Android.
Anyone here interested in pointing me in the right direction? I don't even know how to dump the stock ROM off it.
Thanks in advance!
-Morgan
P.S. I'm also happy to take requests for infrared photos I mostly got this thing just to sate my own curiosity.
