I am having a similar sort of problem. I accidentally installed the Chinese firmware, now I am unable to install the proper one (XAR - Cellular South) because Odin stops at system.img with a "FAIL!" notification.
If you get an answer, please let me know!
i tried flashing wif XSP.. flash successful but, all system process failed to run.
so i boot into recovery and wipe everything.
got network booster and my note pro seems to be stable.
give it a try
@up
Please remember - flashing with odin overwrites the content of the /system (and some other minor partitions)partition BUT IT'S NOT TOUCHING /data CONTENT AT ALL!
/data is a partition dedicated for keeping all the settings and user data, contrary to /system which is read-only by default. Empty /data gets filled with first initial files during first boot of new firmware and it is being preserved during Odin flashes (which in general lets you to flash a newer firmware without losing the data, if you flashed an update for the same region as already installed on device or even different region - but there are some borders of compatibility!).
And it seems that content that has been created on /data after booting Chinese firmware is NOT compatibile at all with /system from the other region (maybe due to character encoding? dunno). New rom do not know that it has been "just flashed", it thinks otherwise, as there is some data on userdata partition. It manages to read the data.... and it fails (as it doesn't know mandarin symbols or something ;] ). Bump, it stucks....
The solution posted above is absolutely correct: enter recovery mode and perform factory reset (wipe data and cache partitions). Then, it will be possible to boot P905 ROM from any region.
is there a rom for au japan so that the recent button and back, to normal ... and why every time I install rom and return to stock mac wifi it becomes empty
and my sefety net is crossed after instal lineage or pixel experience
please give me the solution and sorry my english is bad
JP variant may apply a different keymapping partition and even security code/barrier to check whether the system is untouched or not ?
Is Reliance JIO working on Oneplus 8T?
I have unlocked Tmobile OP 8T ( KB 2007) and it's not working for me.

It is working perfectly fine, although my device model number is KB2001.
You may have to flash the Indian firmware to make it work.

I had the same problem on a Samsung S8+ (purchased abroad).
The solution was to flash the local firmware and everything worked after that.
You are probably flashing the OS. I'm saying you have to flash the FIRMWARE (which is different from the OS).
Someone who has a custom recovery installed may be able to help you.

Cool, Thanks for letting me know. I will look it up. If you have any threads that can help me, I would really appreciate that
Update: Just a clarification mate, by flashing firmware, do you mean flashing the global rom from fastboot? If so, that is how I flashed global rom on my T-Mobile. All the articles when I search for flashing firmware is pointing to the flashing from fastboot which is what I did.

8T is a very new device, and I don't think the required files are available yet. As far as I know, even TWRP isn't available yet for this device.
Once a custom recovery is available, someone who has the KB2001 model may be able to extract the required files and pack them in a flashable zip. It is these files that are primarily what distinguishes one model number from another.
This is NOT the OS/ ROM. The Firmware contains the modem and other driver files to support the telecom bands/ spectrum (among others) used in a specific region. I'm afraid you have to wait for now, as there is unlikely to be an immediate solution now.
You can try at the service centre though. They may be able to help here (although very unlikely).

My OP 8T after converted to EU and update to ColorOS 12 suddenly lost it's IMEI. I tried to rollback to OOS11 even to stock TMO but still can not fix the IMEi. Baseband is still there, device still can recognize SIM's services but no IMEI and device can't make phone calls.
It may caused because my device's EFS partitions are damaged. I tried to look everywhere to find solutions but still no luck. If anyone know any leads, please kindly help to inform.
Thanks a lot mate.

Check if you have backup of persist partition stored locally, or it has internal backup on another partition (look on partition names). Critical partitions sometimes have backups.
