Well that's little tricky because I don't think we can connect USB through normal ways. You would need to open up TV and then find the VCC, GND, D+ and D- pins on the motherboard and then with your soldering skill you would have to solder a USB cable to it and then connect it your computer to see how it goes.

Can you please upload this picture in high quality to somewhere else and share link here. Maybe like Google Drive.

Thankyou for the image but I still couldn't find any such points on the main board or the daughter boards. You will have to figure it out yourselves.

I'm in a facility right now that i cannot do these solding things so i guess i won't be able to do it unless i can hack the software or force the tv into USB interface debugging mode so I can first backup the rom but i don't think i can anyway because no one is telling me anything about the Mediatek MT9612 chip. I'd love to root this tv for many different reasons.
By the way do you know how to override the maximum resolution of my Google TV from 1920x1920 to 3840x2160 so i can watch 4k videos natively rather than downscaled garbage?
Thanks

There are perfectly good reason for the designers to come out with various socket designs other than the size issue, i.e. avoid users from pluging in things that aren't compatible. E.g., I can make you a USB-to-240V-3-pin-plug converter, you just dont plug that in.
If there were to be the slightest possible chance that it will work, there would be a forest of such 'converter available'.
And, among all the above stuff I said, do a search before you (soterisk) post multiple thread across all the forum. It save you times and avoid frustration from others as well. This topic has been discussed a gazillion times, together with other topic such as, "I have a USB converter, I think I can plugin my ext-HDD/mouse/keyboard into my Wizard".

I guaran-f-n-tee that this will NOT work. You could possibly destroy your wizard though. So go ahead without reading anything about this before hand and watch your wizard burn.
There is no hardware support for one(ie. video card out support) and 2 there is no software support for vid out. You cannot make something that is not there work. Good luck.
P.S. There is built in laser beam hardware support on the wizard. Also the Petrol free transporter is working although it is a little buggy.
nope. no way.
even if there were drivers - the wizard has no usb host capabilities so this just won't work.
Actually, the HTC Advantage (Athena) supports this feature:
"HTC proprietary 16-pin combined port (USB 1.1 host/VGA and TV Out)"
(source: http://www.htc.com/product/03-product_x7501.htm)
Don't whether it is a separate port as there is another port mentioned as well:
"HTC ExtUSB™(11-pin mini-USB and audio jack in one)"
(source: as above)
I would reckon it would be less risky if you just get the cable from it and try to connect to a Wizard (still at your own risk) ...
Personally, I would also strongly doubt it (due to the technical issues as mentioned above)
Cheers!

It's ok. Some people just talk nonsense, thats why you get all sorts of silly emails forwarded to your inbox. Anyway, AFAIK, there are some phones (HTC if I remember correctly) that supports video/VGA out. Probably that's what the people are talking about.

Apple CarPlay Dongle - Autoplay - Not working correctly

Hello all!
I have bought the Apple Carplay Dongle with the app called AutoPlay. (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B076D2BP4S) The App and the dongle have the newest version.
The problem is that the head unit will start completely new or the connection get lost to the device. I tried several devices (iPhone 5S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone X) - I also changed the lightning cable.
The usb from my device is working. Maybe I do something wrong?
I used a XTRONS, Android 8, Octa-Core, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM device.
Some suggestions would be great.
Just curious, what did the reseller suggest?

Have you tried using a powered USB hub? These Carplay dongles often need more than 500mA

The original adaptor appears to be made by Carlinke. They have a website of the same name - you should start there (sorry, I can't post external links yet).
I had to buy a USB splitter to get my CarPlay dongle to work reliably. A single USB port just wasn’t enough.
Now in the cold time of the year I have a problem with the dongle. The dongle is not connect over the usb to the android device. The app says that I have to connect the box. Is this normal? - After some time of driving it is working.
Now it is the problem that I have to restart my device to get the box recognized by the app. Did someone have some suggestions?

looks like you have the carlinkit dongle like mine, you may need to update firmware on box. I got the latest box firmware from alliexpress selleer ( as per time of this post )
install instuctions
1) format a USB drive as FAT32
2) place img file in root of USB
3) plug dongle into andorid unit ( do not put in USB yet )
4) open app
5) once app asks you to connect phone, plug in USB drive into dongle.
6) you will get message on app saying box updating.
7 ) finally check setting menu in APP to see box and software up to date ( you will need to be connected to WIFI for this I belive)
Thanks for your post.
Is it right that the latest version of app and dongle is from the end of december 2018?
I have the same box on a px5 android 6 and it keeps restarting/disconnecting when I use a navigation app like google maps. I tried using 2 usb ports for extra charge, different phone, cable, etc.
nothing works
Yes, for me it is the same.
I think there is also no update available since 4 months. I do not know why.

Usb conection problems - nothing helps

Hi,
i cant connect to my phone normally via usb. System windows 10 says "USB device not recognized". I know its a poplar problem and many solutions is on the internet but for me no one solution work. Only way to connect my phone is via wifi debuging via android studio. Maybe someone know that one more solution that can help me ? Is there any chance is that phone problem? I tried difrent cables, computers ... nothing. pls help
Did you install the right drivers?
Make sure you're using a usb data cable (like the original one included with the phone)
Try different USB ports on your computer.
Make sure you've set your pixel to "Data transfer on USB connection".
I'll repeat the last point again, because it's probably the solution to your problem:
Make sure to set your pixel to file transfer when you plug in the phone to the pc. Most people say that the pixel defaults to "no file transfer" or just "charging". That isn't any good for you, as you want to transfer files. Once your phone is connected to your computer, swipe down to your notification shade, and you should see a normal or silent notification that has to do with the USB connection. If you have usb debugging enabled, it will also show another notification for that. Click on the one for the usb connection. It will open a menu, here you must select "File transfer". You might have to do this every time your connect your phone. Some phones have an option to change the default setting in developer options.
Hope I helped!
If I solved your problem, please mark this post as the solution, to help out other users.
Yes i have a correct drivers and cable but windows said that its not drivers for it. After plug usb in android what it must do after connection is all blured.

Would have preffered it if the image was in english, oh well.
try selecting the option on the top and seeing if windows can get any drivers for it.
if you've got no luck, then install the drivers manually.
When i try this first option (USB stering by conected device) it says "Cannot connect"
I try instal manually but dont work. For windows this is not a mobile device.
I have a pixel 4a that took a quick swim. The USB port allows charging but not data.
It's probably not the same thing you are seeing, since it literally doesn't show up as a port to either the phone or the PC.
I wasnt have any water conection or damage. I dont know what it could be. Do you think its a port problem? Windows sees some device but wont select good driver for it. I can't do it even when i pick exactly driver for it. Its frustrating that i watched video's that says " its Simple and now lets do this or that" and of course i have biger problem with it. Like i said i have connection VIA android studio. Maybe is there any file that i can put to Pixel for better recognization ?
Try using an installer for installing its drivers, rather than manually installing signed/unsigned drivers in device manager.

I don't understand. How can i install driver other than in device manager ? I do install drivers by Android studio too. I can see that even my external mic (Blue yeti with usb c adapter) is not visible for pixel. I tried too with external memory and it works fine. is there any chance that is faulty usb port?
Please let me know what do you mean with installer. Thanks for responses.
edit. I tried also with forcing in developer options usb connects to media files transfer. dont work
A bit off that NOTHING works, could be a faulty port. Bring it to a service centre or a repair shop if a service centre isnt easily accessbile for you.

Can you rule out that it is a Windows problem with your specific Pixel 4a device by simply starting a bootable Linux (Ubuntu, Mint, etc.) from a USB flash drive and trying the connection there?
Ah ... tried to open pixel, and for no reason screen dies. Opened it gently with no breaks but now have litle flickers. I bought Nord 2. I see in auction in Poland one more person have usb problem so i guess its finally port problem (this module). Thanks for all responses and help.

Windows 10/11 explorer hangs can't import photos

Hello everyone, I've noticed that when I connect my galaxy s8 to my PC with the OEM original cable to my windows 10 and windows 11 desktop pc, the entire computer slows down and lags. Windows 10/11 explorer hangs and loads files/folders very slowly. Sometimes USB connection looses power and connection and no pictures show inside the android folder. When I disconnect the USB cable, then everything starts to function normally and windows 10/11 explorer speeds up and displays error messages that didn't either didn't show up before or were extremely slow to load. This leads to me assume there is something going on with android 9.0 and windows 10/11. Does anyone have suggestions or things we can try ? How can I resolve this ?
Thanks!!

Maybe it's because windows 11 is still new. Missing drivers, not stable enough. On windows 10 I did not encounter such problems. See if there are updates pending. Or reinstall the drivers for your phone.

But I've tried with 2 cables - one that is OEM and another that is a generic brand called Nupower that my cellphone service provider gave me when my original boxed USB cable that came inside the s8 box got worn out. Both of these cables have the same problem. After a while it seems like either the phone or the USB can't transmit or sustain stable connection after an hour or so
The tansfer speed isn't related to USB-cable used but to USB-version the USB-port supports.
BTW;
Windows Explorer doesn't transfer files between devices.
The main function of Windows Explorer is to provide a graphic interface to navigate the Windows computer's hard drive and display the contents of the sub folders and folders used to organize files on the hard disk. It also allows users to copy, move, delete, rename and generally perform tasks relating to those folders and files

so you are saying that its the USB port (either USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 SS on the back of the computer) that's incompatible with the OEM USB cable from samsung experience store?

Question Triying to revive a black screen SM-R890

Hi, this is the first time i post, I'm a newby and just want to start experimenting with these devices.
I have a Samsung Galaxy watch 4 classic (SM-R890) with a faulty back button, so i bougth a dead watch on ebay to change the buttons and now I want to see if i'm able to bring life back to the ebay bircked watch.
The screenof the bricked device wotks fine (Just tested the screen on my good watch) and also the battery hold charge.
Pressing the two butons while charging doesn't work, (it was the first thing I tried as soon as I get the watch from ebay)
after reading some post here, I tried to connect to the this pins on the bottom of the main board in order to stablish a usb connection

the soldering is not pretty but it works. (also the photo was taked before cleaning the board)
pin order is as follow
5v | Not conected | green | white | gnd
also there is no bridge between the pads, I just tested that with a multimeter.
after installing the samsung usb driver and connected the cable, I saw for and instant the message saying "installing exynos driver" or some messages like that, but after that nothing.....
Now it sound like when you plug a usb device and after a few seconds it sounds like when you discconet the device. but it doesn´t show on device managen neither in odin software.
to "force the connection" on windows I have to press the ON button on the watch and it sound like connecting an usb device again.
i've also tested on linux with "./odin4 -l" command but also no luck.
I just want to know if i'm missing some crucial step in order to connect the watch to the pc via usb.
Hope you can help me bringing back life to this watch.
Thanks in advance.

when I connect the usb cable I can hear the connecting sound on windows, but after a few seconds it sounds like it disconnects, then I press the red button on the watch and it sounds like connecting again but not for long, I repeat this process a few times and that's why those sounds repeats in the video.
